Physiological and Molecular Changes of Detached Wheat Leaves in Responding to Various Treatments显示文摘Leaf senescence is induced or accelerated when leaves are detached. However, the senescence process and expression pattern of senescence-associated genes (SAGs) when leaves are detached are not clearly understood. To detect senescence-associated physiological changes and SAG expression, wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) leaves were detached and treated with light, darkness, low temperature (4 C), jasmonic acid (JA), abscisic acid (ABA), and salicylic acid (SA). The leaf phenotypes, chlorophyll content, delayed fluorescence (DF), and expression levels of two SAGs, namely, TaSAG3 and TaSAG5, were analyzed. Under these different treatments, the detached leaves turned yellow with different patterns and varying chlorophyll content. DF significantly decreased after the dark, ABA, JA and SA treatments. TaSAG3 and TaSAG5, which are expressed in natural senescent leaves, showed different expression patterns under various treatments. However, both TaSAG3 and TaSAG5 were upregulated after leaf detachment. Our results revealed senescence-associated physiological changes and molecular differences in leaves, which induced leaf senescence during different stress treatments. | Lifeng Zhao Haoshan Zhang Bingjing Zhang Xiaojuan Bai Chunjiang Zhou | 2012 | Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2012,54,8: | 2
RNA-binding protein ZCCHC4 promotes human cancer chemoresistance by disrupting DNA-damage-induced apoptosis显示文摘RNA-binding proteins(RBPs)play important roles in cancer development and treatment. However, the tumor-promoting RBPs and their partners, which may potentially serve as the cancer therapeutic targets, need to be further identified. Here,we report that zinc finger CCHC domain-containing protein 4(ZCCHC4)is of aberrantly high expression in multiple human cancer tissues and is associated with poor prognosis and chemoresistance in patients of hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC),pancreatic cancer and colon cancer.ZCCHC4 promotes chemoresistance of HCC cells to DNA-damage agent(DDA)both in vitro and in vivo.HCC cell deficiency of ZCCHC4 reduces tumor growth in vivo and intratumoral interference of ZCCHC4 expression obviously enhances the DDAinduced antitumor effect.Mechanistically,ZCCHC4 inhibits DNA-damage-induced apoptosis in HCC cells by interacting with a new long noncoding RNA(lncRNA)AL133467.2 to hamper its pro-apoptotic function.Also,ZCCHC4 blocks the interaction between AL133467.2 andγH2AX upon DDA treatment to inhibit apoptotic signaling and promote chemoresistance to DDAs.Knockout of ZCCHC4 promotes AL133467.2 andγH2AX interaction for enhancing chemosensitivity in HCC cells.Together, our study identifies ZCCHC4 as a new predictor of cancer poor prognosis and a potential target for improving chemotherapy effects, providing mechanistic insights to the roles of RBPs and their partners in cancer progression and chemoresistance. | Ha Zhu Kun Chen Yali Chen Juan Liu Xiaomin Zhang Yumei Zhou Qiuyan Liu Bingjing Wang Taoyong Chen Xuetao Cao | 2022 | Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2022,7,8: | 1
The Impact of Climatic and Environmental Factors on n-Alkanes Indices in Southwestern Tibetan Plateau显示文摘n-Alkanes are widely used in paleoenvironmental reconstructions. However, our understanding of changes in the distribution of n-alkanes with climatic and environmental factors remains unclear in arid/semi-arid regions. We sampled 26 surface sediments from three climatic zones across the southwestern Tibetan Plateau to evaluate the sensitivity of chain length distributions of n-alkanes to climatic and environmental parameters. Our observations demonstrate that average chain length(ACL),proportion of aquatic macrophyte(Paq),carbon preference index(CPI)and ratio of the contents of nC_(27)and nC_(31)(nC_(27)/nC_(31))are all sensitive to hydroclimatic conditions. In contrast to commonly-adopted assumptions, the correlations between these indices and hydrological parameters are not always good, which indicates that the interpretation of n-alkane indices is special on the southwestern Tibetan Plateau. These might be related to the vegetation characteristics and seasonality of biological activity, and need to be considered in paleoclimatic reconstruction. The impact of seasonal precipitation on n-alkanes indices was also evaluated. | LING Yuan ZHENG Mianping WANG Shuxian SUN Qing XIE Bingjing ZHANG Chengjun | 2021 | Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2021,95,2: | 1

Land Consolidation with Seedling Cultivation Could Decrease Soil Microbial PLFA Diversity显示文摘The impact of land consolidation on the soil microbial PLFA diversity is of great importance for understanding the effective arable land usage, improving agricultural ecological conditions and environment. In this study,we collected the soil samples(0–20 cm)in experimental plots with 0(Z0),1(Z1a)and 4(Z4a)years of land consolidation in the forest station of Ningbo City,Zhejiang Province, southeastern China. The results were analyzed using ANOVA for randomized block design.Compared with control(Z0),the soil pH value under Z1a treatment increased by 14.6%,soil organic carbon(SOC)content decreased by 65.4%,so did the PLFA contents and relative abundance of all the microbial PLFA diversity(P<0.05),respectively.Meanwhile,for the Z1a treatment, the ratio of fungi to bacteria(F/B)significantly decreased by 35.9%(P<0.05),while the ratio of Gram-positive bacteria to Gram-negative bacteria(G+/G−)signific antly increased by 56.1%.This was strongly related to the increased soil pH values and the decrease of SOC.The Shannon index(H)and evenness index(E)of soil microbial PLFA diversity were significantly decreased after land consolidation(P<0.05).Compared to the Z1 treatment, the microbial PLFA diversity was improved slightly. Therefore, the land consolidation could significantly affect the composition of soil microbial PLFA diversity, and decrease the soil ecosystem stability. | Shen Zhang Yongqi Jian Bingjing Yan Jin Jin Jiasen Wu Chenfei Liang Juan Liu | 2022 | Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany2022,91,8: | 0
Thickness Method for Measuring Hair Density of Rex Rabbit显示文摘[Objective] The paper was to characterize hair density by changes in hair thickness under certain pressure.[Method] The effects of weight of thickness tester and wafer area at the bottom of presser foot on measurement results were studied, and the optimal measuring weight and wafer diameter was determined. The measurement results of hair thickness under the above condition were compared with the results of manual counting.Meanwhile, the effects of hair length and hair fineness on hair density were analyzed.[Result] The hair density obtained by manual counting had consistent change trend with the hair thickness measured under certain conditions. If the length and fineness of hairs were introduced for modification, the correlation between hair thickness and hair density would be better. There were little changes in hair length and fineness of rex rabbit, and their effects on hair thickness could be ignored under general condition.[Conclusion] It is completely feasible to characterize hair density of rex rabbit by hair thickness under pressure. | Gao Haiqi Li Bingjing Liu Han Zhang Zongcai | 2018 | Animal Husbandry and Feed Science2018,10,2: | 0
