1Enhanced secondary pollution offset reduction of primary emissions during COVID-19 lockdown in China显示文摘To control the spread of the 2019 novel coronavirus(COVID-19),China imposed nationwide restrictions on the movement of its population(lockdown)after the Chinese New Year of 2020,leading to large reductions in economic activities and associated emissions.Despite such large decreases in primary pollution,there were nonetheless several periods of heavy haze pollution in eastern China,raising questions about the well-established relationship between human activities and air quality.Here,using comprehensive measurements and modeling,we show that the haze during the COVID lockdown was driven by enhancements of secondary pollution.In particular,large decreases in NOx emissions from transportation increased ozone and nighttime NO_(3)radical formation,and these increases in atmospheric oxidizing capacity in turn facilitated the formation of secondary particulate matter.Our results,afforded by the tragic natural experiment of the COVID-19 pandemic,indicate that haze mitigation depends upon a coordinated and balanced strategy for controlling multiple pollutants.Xin Huang Aijun Ding Jian Gao Bo Zheng Derong Zhou Ximeng Qi Rong Tang Jiaping Wang Chuanhua Ren Wei Nie Xuguang Chi Zheng Xu Liangduo Chen Yuanyuan Li Fei Che Nini Pang Haikun Wang Dan Tong Wei Qin Wei Cheng Weijing Liu Qingyan Fu Baoxian Liu Fahe Chai Steven JDavis Qiang Zhang Kebin He 2021National Science Review2021,8,2:47

3Texture control by {10-12} twinning to improve the formability of Mg alloys: A review显示文摘Texture control of wrought Mg alloys, particularly in rolled Mg alloy sheets, has been an important research topic for the past several decades because it has significant influence on stretch formability at room temperature. For Mg alloys, {10-12} twinning can be easily activated and causes a 86.3° lattice rotation. Thus, pre-twinning deformation is considered as an effective and low-cost method for texture control in wrought Mg and its alloys. Furthermore, it has been verified that texture control via pre-twinning deformation can remarkably improve stretch formability of rolled Mg alloy sheets. In this review, recent researches on texture control via twinning deformation and its influence on stretch formability will be critically reviewed. The main contents include the micro-mechanism and impact factors of control in twin-orientation, plastic processing techniques of pre-inducing twins and the application of pre-induced twins in improvement of stretch formability. 4α→β Transformation characteristics revealed by pulsed laser-induced non-equilibrium microstructures in duplex-phase Zr alloy显示文摘Microstructures of a duplex-phase Zr-2.5Nb alloy treated by pulsed laser were characterized by electron backscatter diffraction(EBSD) and electron channeling contrast(ECC) imaging techniques.Major attention has been paid to non-equilibrium hybrid microstructure consisting of both prior a and β phases,and a plates transformed from new β phases to probe α→β transformation characteristics in the alloy.The origin of the hybrid microstructure is attributed to the specific thermodynamic conditions induced by the pulsed laser treatment.ECC observation shows that newly formed β phases during laser heating prefer to nucleate and grow at the expense of edges of prior a grains rather than their interiors.EBSD analyses further reveal that orientations of the new βphases are not determined by the prior a grains according to the Burgers relationship but maintain those of the prior β phases in an epitaxial growth way.CHAI LinJiang WANG Shu Yan WU Hao GUO Ning PAN HuCheng CHEN Liang Yu MURTY K.L. 5Geomorphic features of Quaternary glaciation in the Taniantaweng Mountain, on the southeastern Qinghai-Tibet Plateau显示文摘We present geomorphological evidence for multiple glacial fluctuations during the Quaternary in the Taniantaweng Mountain, which is situated at the transition zone of the southeastern Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau. To reconstruct the history of glacial evolution during the Quaternary Glaciation, we present a ~13000 km^2 geomorphologic map(1:440,000) for the Quaternary glaciations, as well as three electron spin resonance(ESR) ages and three optically stimulated luminescence(OSL) ages from the landforms. By integrating these with ages from previous studies, four major glacial advances are identified during marine oxygen isotope stages(MIS) 6, 3, 2 and 1. This glacial chronology is in reasonable agreement with existing glacial chronologies from other parts of the Hengduan Mountains and surrounding mountains. Glaciers had extended to the Yuqu River during the glacial maximum advance(MIS 6), but became successively more restricted from MIS 3 to MIS 1. 7Liquid exfoliating CdS and MoS_(2) to construct 2D/2D MoS_(2)/CdS heterojunctions with significantly boosted photocatalytic H2 evolution activity显示文摘Fabrication of 2D/2D heterojunction photocatalysts have attracted more attentions due to their inherent merits involving the large contact interface,short charge migration distance and plentiful active sites,which are beneficial for the enhancement of photocatalytic activity.Herein,a series of 2D/2D MoS_(2)/Cd S type-I heterojunctions were prepared by incorporation the exfoliating of bulk CdS and MoS_(2) with postsintering procedure.Multiple characteristic techniques were employed to corroborate the formation of heterojunctions.By optimizing the 2D MoS_(2) amounts in the heterojunction,the 7 wt.%2D/2D MoS_(2)/CdS heterojunction displayed the maximal photocatalytic H2 evolution rate of 18.43 mmol h^(-1) g^(-1) under visible light irradiation in the presence of lactic acid as the sacrificial reagent,which was 6 times higher than that of pristine 2D CdS.Based on the photoelectrochemical and photoluminescence spectra tests,it could be deduced that the charge separation and transfer of 2D/2D MoS_(2)/CdS heterojunction was tremendously improved,and the recombination of photoinduced electron-hole pairs was effectively impeded.Moreover,the 2D MoS_(2) was used as a cocatalyst to provide the abundant active sites and lower the overpotential for H_(2) generation reaction.The current work would offer an insight to fabricate the 2D/2D heterojunction photocatalysts for splitting H_(2)O into H_(2).Minghui Xiong Juntao Yan Bo Chai Guozhi Fan Guangsen Song 2020Journal of Materials Science & Technology2020,56,21:4
8A new method of measuring optical turbulence of atmospheric surface layer at Antarctic Taishan Station with ultrasonic anemometer显示文摘To find the optimal location for large-aperture telescopes is a goal of astronomy. Chinese Antarctic astronomy has begun to flourish in recent years, and it is an urgent need in basic astronomical work to measure and analyze the optical turbulence spatiotemporal distribution in the Antarctic region. We analyzed turbulence data measured by a mobile atmospheric parameter measurement system from 30 December 2013 to 10 February 2014 at Antarctic Taishan Station. Because there is a discrepancy between the refractive index structure constant C_n^2 measured by an ultrasonic anemometer with a single-point temperature structure function method and by micro-thermometer, a new method to measure C_n^2 with a temperature spectrum method is proposed herein. Through comparing long-term continuous C_n^2 data derived from ultrasonic anemometer with those via the new method and micro-thermometer, trend, magnitude and measured weak turbulence of ~2×10^(-16)m^(-2/3) are generally satisfactory. 9Processing Environmental Stimuli in Paranoid Schizophrenia:Recognizing Facial Emotions and Performing Executive Functions显示文摘Objective To study the contribution of executive function to abnormal recognition of facial expressions of emotion in schizophrenia patients. Methods Abnormal recognition of facial expressions of emotion was assayed according to Japanese and Caucasian facial expressions of emotion (JACFEE), Wisconsin card sorting test (WCST), positive and negative symptom scale, and Hamilton anxiety and depression scale, respectively, in 88 paranoid schizophrenia patients and 75 healthy volunteers. Results Patients scored higher on the Positive and Negative Symptom Scale and the Hamilton Anxiety and Depression Scales, displayed lower JACFEE recognition accuracies and poorer WCST performances. The JACFEE recognition accuracy of contempt and disgust was negatively correlated with the negative symptom scale score while the recognition accuracy of fear was positively with the positive symptom scale score and the recognition accuracy of surprise was negatively with the general psychopathology score in patients. Moreover, the WCST could predict the JACFEE recognition accuracy of contempt, disgust, and sadness in patients, and the perseverative errors negatively predicted the recognition accuracy of sadness in healthy volunteers. The JACFEE recognition accuracy of sadness could predict the WCST categories in paranoid schizophrenia patients. 10Hypothermic machine perfusion with metformin-University of Wisconsin solution for ex vivo preservation of standard and marginal liver grafts in a rat model显示文摘AIM To compare the effect of University of Wisconsin(UW) solution with or without metformin, an AMP-activated protein kinase(AMPK) activator, for preserving standard and marginal liver grafts of young and aged rats ex vivo by hypothermic machine perfusion(HMP).METHODS Eighteen young(4 mo old) and 18 aged(17 mo old)healthy male SD rats were selected and randomly divided into three groups: control group, UW solution perfusion group(UWP), and UW solution with metformin perfusion group(MUWP). Aspartate aminotransferase(AST), alanine aminotransferase(ALT), lactate dehydrogenase(LDH), interleukin-18(IL-18), and tumor necrosis factor-alpha(TNF-α) in the perfused liquid were tested. The expression levels of AMPK and endothelial nitric oxide synthase(e NOS) in liver sinusoidal endothelial cells were also examined.Additionally, microscopic evaluation of the harvested perfused liver tissue samples was done. RESULTS AST, ALT, LDH, IL-18 and TNF-α levels in the young and aged liver-perfused liquid were, respectively,significantly lower in the MUWP group than in the UWP group(P < 0.05), but no significant differences were found between the young and aged MUWP groups.Metformin increased the expression of AMPK and e NOS protein levels, and promoted the extracellular release of nitric oxide through activation of the AMPK-e NOS mediated pathway. 11Predictive value of MGMT promoter methylation on the survival of TMZ treated IDH-mutant glioblastoma显示文摘Objective:O6 methylguanine-DNA methyltransferase(MGMT)promoter methylation is a biomarker widely used to predict the sensitivity of IDH-wildtype glioblastoma to temozolomide therapy.Given that the IDH status has critical effects on the survival and epigenetic features of glioblastoma,we aimed to assess the role of MGMT promoter methylation in IDH-mutant glioblastoma.Methods:This study included 187 IDH-mutant glioblastomas and used 173 IDH-wildtype glioblastomas for comparison.KaplanMeier curves and multivariate Cox regression were used to study the predictive effects.Results:Compared with IDH-wildtype glioblastomas,IDH-mutant glioblastomas showed significantly higher(P<0.0001)MGMT promoter methylation.We demonstrated that MGMT promoter methylation status,as determined by a high cutoff value(≥30%)in pyrosequencing,could be used to significantly stratify the survival of 50 IDH-mutant glioblastomas receiving temozolomide therapy(cohort A);this result was validated in another cohort of 25 IDH-mutant glioblastomas(cohort B).The median progression-free survival and median overall survival in cohort A were 9.33 and 13.76 months for unmethylated cases,and 18.37 and 41.61 months for methylated cases,and in cohort B were 6.97 and 9.10 months for unmethylated cases,and 23.40 and 26.40 months for methylated cases.In addition,we confirmed that the MGMT promoter methylation was significantly(P=0.0001)correlated with longer OS in IDH-mutant patients with GBM,independently of age,gender distribution,tumor type(primary or recurrent/secondary),and the extent of resection.Conclusions:MGMT promoter methylation has predictive value in IDH-mutant glioblastoma,but its cutoff value should be higher than that for IDH-wildtype glioblastoma.Ruichao Chai Guanzhang Li Yuqing Liu Kenan Zhang Zheng Zhao Fan Wu Yuzhou Chang Bo Pang Jingjun Li Yangfang Li Tao Jiang Yongzhi Wang 2021Cancer Biology & Medicine2021,18,1:2
12A mobile polar atmospheric parameter measurement system:Ⅱ. First atmospheric turbulence observation at Antarctic Taishan Station显示文摘This is the second paper of a series devoted to atmospheric optical turbulence C2 n observation using a mobile polar atmospheric parameter measurement system. We present the initial results of C2 n measurement at Antarctic Taishan Station using micro-thermal sensors and a three-dimensional sonic anemometer at height ~2.0 m above the snow surface. The site testing experiments were carried out during the 30 th Chinese National Antarctic Research Expedition(CHINARE). We collected about 1 000 h of data between 30 December 2013 and 10 February 2014. The C2 n curve exhibits clear daily structures, with two peaks around midnight and midday and two troughs around 7:30 and 17:00 local time(UTC+5). The mean C2 n is 2.7×10-15 m-2/3 and the 25 th and 75 th percentiles of the C215 n cumulative distribution are 9.6×10-16 m-2/3 and 6.2×10- m-2/3, respectively. 13Bimodal plate structures induced by pulsed laser in duplex-phase Zr alloy显示文摘A duplex-phase Zr-2.5Nb alloy was treated by pulsed laser, followed by careful microstructural characterization using field emission gun scanning electron microscope and attached electron backscatter diffraction. Beneath the modification zones with common uniform α-plate structures(UPS), a layer of unreported bimodal α-plate structures(BPS) featured by coarse(submicron)plates forming multiple cores surrounded by dense fine(nanoscale) plates was found. Presence of such BPS is attributed to non-equilibrium thermodynamic conditions induced by the pulsed laser treatments. Limited diffusion of Nb due to the short pulse during laser heating allows β phases with distinctly different Nb contents to be presented: Nb-enriched prior β films and Nb-depleted β phases, transforming into the fine and the coarse plates during cooling, respectively. 14Warm ischemia time and elevated serum uric acid are associated with metabolic syndrome after liver transplantation with donation after cardiac death显示文摘AIM To describe the prevalence of posttransplant metabolic syndrome(PTMS) after donation after cardiac death(DCD) liver transplantation(LT) and the pre-and postoperative risk factors.METHODS One hundred and forty-seven subjects who underwent DCD LT from January 2012 to February 2016 were enrolled in this study. The demographics and the clinical characteristics of pre-and post-transplantation were collected for both recipients and donors. PTMS was defined according to the 2004 Adult Treatment Panel-Ⅲ criteria. All subjects were followed monthly for the initial 6 mo after discharge, and then, every 3 mo for 2 years. The subjects were followed every 6 mo or as required after 2 years post-LT.RESULTS The prevalence of PTMS after DCD donor orthotopic LT was 20/147(13.6%). Recipient's body mass index(P = 0.024), warm ischemia time(WIT)(P = 0.045), and posttransplant hyperuricemia(P = 0.001) were significantly associated with PTMS. The change in serum uric acid levels in PTMS patients was significantly higher than that in non-PTMS patients(P < 0.001). After the 1 s t mo, the level of serum uric acid of PTMS patients rose continually over a period, while it was unaltered in non-PTMS patients. After transplantation, the level of serum uric acid in PTMS patients was not associated with renal function.CONCLUSION PTMS could occur at early stage after DCD LT with growing morbidity with the passage of time. WIT and post-LT hyperuricemia are associated with the prevalence of PTMS. 15A pilot study of intraocular lens explantation in 69 eyes in Chinese patients显示文摘AIM:To study the effects of intraocular lens(IOL) explantation and demographic characteristics.METHODS:Retrospective non-comparative case series.Clinical data recorded from patient charts included the following:demographic,preoperative and postoperative characteristics;complications;surgical methods,and changes in visual acuity.RESULTS:A total of 69 eyes in 67 Chinese patients who received IOL explants were studied.The patients' mean age at the time of explantation was 46.1 years old [SD 22.5(6-85)],and 37 patients were female(55.2%).Regarding employment,47.8% were farmers,23.9% were retired,16.4% were students,4.5% were unemployed,3% were workers,and 4.5% were other(including staff members,teachers and officers).The main reasons for explantation were dislocation/decentration in 41 cases(59.4%) and retinal detachment in 10 cases(14.5%).The third most prevalent cause was incorrect lens power in 7 eyes(10.1%).The remaining reasons were endophthalmitis in 6 cases(8.7%),posterior capsular opacity in 3 eyes(4.3%),and impacting retinal surgery operation in 2 cases(2.9%).The main comorbidities were high myopia in 18 eyes(26.1%),trauma in 8 eyes(11.6%),retinal detachment in 6 eyes(8.7%),congenital cataracts in 8 eyes(11.6%),and Marfan's syndrome in 2 eyes(2.9%).The mean time from implantation to explantation was 4.0y [SD 4.2(0.005-15)].Treatment after explantation included posterior chamber IOL implantation in 44 eyes(63.8%) and aphakia in 25 eyes(36.2%).After surgery,the best corrected visual ability(BCVA) was improved in 50 cases(72.5%),including 28 patients(40.6%) in whom visual ability was improved by more than two lines.CONCLUSION:Dislocation/decentration is the main cause for explantation,and high myopia is a main risk factor.Posterior chamber IOL implantation remains the most elected treatment after explantation.Fang Chai Bo Ma Xin-Guang Yang Juan Li Mei-Fang Chu 2017International Journal of Ophthalmology(English edition)2017,10,4:1

20Acid-induced topological morphology modulation of graphitic carbon nitride homojunctions as advanced metal-free catalysts for OER and pollutant degradation显示文摘Topological morphology that dominates the surface electronic properties of nanostructures plays a key role in producing desired materials for versatile functions and applications in many fields,but its modulation for specific functions remains a big challenge.Herein,we report an acid-induced method to prepare S-doped graphitic carbon nitride/graphitic carbon nitride(S-CN/CN)homojunction by simply pyrolyzing a supramolecular precursor synthesized from melamine and H_(2)SO_(4).The topological morphology and electronic structure of CN homojunction can be easily adjusted only by changing the ratio of raw materials.Moreover,the topological morphology of S-CN/CN homojunction can be further adjusted from hollow cocoon to 2D nanosheets by changing the annealing conditions.The optimized S-CN/CN homojunction shows highly efficient in charge transfer and separation and exhibits superior OER activity and high ability to degrade organic pollutants.Impressively,S-CN/CN nanosheets only demand low overpotential of301 m V to drive a current density of 10 m Acm^(-2)in 1 M KOH media,and the corresponding Tafel slope is only 57.71 m V/dec,which is superior to the most advanced precious metal Ir O_(2)catalyst.Moreover,under visible light irradiation,its photodegradation kinetic rate of Rh B is 2.38,which is 47.6 times higher than that of bulk CN.This work provides useful guidance for designing and developing efficient multifunctional metal-free catalysts.Hua-Wei Zhang Yi-Xin Lu Bo Li Gui-Fang Huang Fan Zeng Yuan-Yuan Li Anlian Pan Yi-Feng Chai Wei-Qing Huang 2021Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,27:1
