Formulation of Determining the Gravity Potential Difference Using Ultra-High Precise Clocks via Optical Fiber Frequency Transfer Technique显示文摘Based on gravity frequency shift effect predicted by general relativity theory, this study discusses an approach for determining the gravity potential(geopotential) difference between arbitrary two points P and Q by remote comparison of two precise optical clocks via optical fiber frequency transfer. After synchronization, by measuring the signal's frequency shift based upon the comparison of bidirectional frequency signals from P and Q oscillators connected with two optical atomic clocks via remote optical fiber frequency transfer technique, the geopotential difference between the two points could be determined, and its accuracy depends on the stabilities of the optical clocks and the frequency transfer comparison technique. Due to the fact that the present stability of optical clocks achieves 1.6×10-18 and the present frequency transfer comparison via optical fiber provides stabilities as high as 10-19 level, this approach is prospective to determine geopotential difference with an equivalent accuracy of 1.5 cm. In addition, since points P and Q are quite arbitrary, this approach may provide an alternative way to determine the geopotential over a continent, and prospective potential to unify a regional height datum system.Ziyu Shen Wen-Bin Shen Zhao Peng Tao Liu Shougang Zhang Dingbo Chao 2019Journal of Earth Science2019,30,2:3

Sea ice concentration over the Antarctic Ocean from satellite pulse altimetry显示文摘Sea ice concentration (SIC) is an important parameter in characterizing sea ice. Limited by the environment and the spatial extent of observation, it is difficult for field work to meet the needs of a large-scale SIC study. However, with its many advantages, such as the ability to make large-scale, high-resolution and long-duration observations, the altimeter can be used to determine SIC on a large scale. Using the correspondence between the satellite pulse altimeter waveform and reflector property, waveform classification is employed. Moreover, this paper develops an algorithm to obtain the SIC from altimeter waveforms. In an actual computation, Pyrz Bay in the Antarctic is taken as an experimental region, and one-year and seasonal SICs are derived from ERS-1/GM waveforms over this study area. Furthermore, altimetric SICs are compared with those of SSMR SSM/I. The results show that the spatial distribution and the regions of maximum SIC determined employing these two methods are consistent. This demonstrates that altimeter data can be used to monitor sea ice.YANG YuanDe E DongChen WANG ,HaiHong CHAO DingBo HWANG CheinWay LI Fei AI SongTao 2011Science China Earth Sciences2011,54,1:1

Applications of the Fictitious Compress Recovery Approach in Physical Geodesy显示文摘The fictitious compress recovery approach is introduced, which could be applied to the estab-lishment of the Runge-Krarup theorem, the determination of the Bjerhammar's fictitious gravity anomaly, the solution of the 'downward continuation' problem of the gravity field, the confirmation of the convergence of the spherical harmonic expansion series of the Earth's potential field, and the gravity field determination in three cases: gravitational potential case, gravitation case, and gravitational gradient case. Several tests using simulation experiments show that the fictitious compress recovery approach shows promise in physical ge-odesy applications.SHEN Wenbin LI Jiancheng LI Jin NING Jinsheng CHAO Dingbo 2008Geo-Spatial Information Science2008,11,3:0
Polarization-induced photocurrent switching effect in heterojunction photodiodes显示文摘The unipolar photocurrent in conventional photodiodes(PDs)based on photovoltaic effect limits the output modes and potential versatility of these devices in photodetection.Bipolar photodiodes with photocurrent switching are emerging as a promising solution for obtaining photoelectric devices with unique and attractive functions, such as optical logic operation. Here,we design an all-solid-state chip-scale ultraviolet(UV)PD based on a hybrid GaN heterojunction with engineered bipolar polarized electric field.By introducing the polarization-induced photocurrent switching effect, the photocurrent direction can be switched in response to the wavelength of incident light at 0 V bias.In particular, the photocurrent direction exhibits negative when the irradiation wavelength is less than 315 nm,but positive when the wavelength is longer than 315 nm.The device shows a responsivity of up to−6.7 mA/W at 300 nm and 5.3 mA/W at 340 nm,respectively. In particular, three special logic gates in response to different dual UV light inputs are demonstrated via a single bipolar PD,which may be beneficial for future multifunctional UV photonic integrated devices and systems.Dingbo Chen Yu-Chang Chen Guang Zeng Yu-Chun Li Xiao-Xi Li Dong Li Chao Shen Nan Chi Boon S.Ooi David Wei Zhang Hong-Liang Lu 2023Nano Research2023,16,4:0
Bathymetric Inversion of South China Sea from Satellite Altimetry Data显示文摘This paper focuses on the study of ocean bathymetric inversion from satellite altimeter data by using FFT technique. In this study, the freeair gravity anomalies over the South China Sea are determined by the satellite altimeter data of GEOSAT,ERS1,ERS2 and T/P.And the 2.5′×2.5′ bathymetry model in South China Sea is calculated from the gravity anomalies with the inversion model given. After the analysis of the inversion and the comparison between the results, some conclusions can be drawn.LUO Jia LI Jiancheng CHAO Dingbo 2003Geo-Spatial Information Science2003,6,1:0
Study on Recovering the Earth's Potential Field Based on GOCE Gradiometry显示文摘Given the second radial derivative Vr r ( P ) |S of the Earth’s gravitational potential V ( P ) on the surface S corresponding to the satellite altitude, by using the fictitious compress recovery method, a fictitious regular harmonic field rrVr r( P )* and a fictitious second radial gradient field Vr *r ( P) in the domain outside an inner sphere K i can be determined, which coincides with the real field Vr r( P ) in the domain outside the Earth. Vr *r ( P)could be further expressed as a uniformly convergent expansion series in the domain outside the inner sphere, because rrVr r( P )* could be expressed as a uniformly convergent spherical harmonic expansion series due to its regularity and harmony in that domain. In another aspect, the fictitious field V * ( P) defined in the domain outside the inner sphere, which coincides with the real field V ( P ) in the domain outside the Earth, could be also expressed as a spherical harmonic expansion series. Then, the harmonic coefficients contained in the series expressing V * ( P) can be determined, and consequently the real field V ( P ) is recovered. Preliminary simulation calculations show that the second radial gradient field Vr r( P ) could be recovered based only on the second radial derivative Vr r ( P )| S given on the satellite boundary. Concerning the final recovery of the potential field V ( P ) based only on the boundary value Vr r ( P )|S, the simulation tests are still in process.SHEN Wenbin LI Jin LI Jiancheng WANG Zhengtao NING Jinsheng CHAO Dingbo 2008Geo-Spatial Information Science2008,11,4:0
APPLICATION OF THE HARTLEY TRANSFORM IN THE COMPUTATION OF THE GEOID IN CHINA显示文摘This paper presents a method for the computation of the Stokes for-mula using the Fast Hartley Transform(FHT)techniques. The algorithm is mostsuitable for the computation of real sequence transform, while the Fast FourierTransform(FFT)techniques are more suitable for the computaton of complex se-quence transform.A method of spherical coordinate transformation is presented inthis paper.By this method the errors, which are due to the approximate term inthe convolution of Stokes formula, can be effectively eliminated. Some numericaltests are given.By a comparison with both FFT techniques and numerical integra-tion method, the results show that the resulting values of geoidal undulations byFHT techniques are almost the same as by FFT techniques, and the computation-al speed of FHT techniques is about two times faster than that of FFT techniques.NING Jinsheng LI Jiancheng CHAO Dingbo 1998Geo-Spatial Information Science1998,1,1:0
Detection of unsymmetrical global tectonic change by using space geodetic data显示文摘The global tectonic change deduced from geophysical research was first identified by space geodetic data from VLBI, GPS and SLR measurements. whether using geodesic rates or using vertical velocities of stations, three kinds of data and their integration give consistent results: within the mid-latitude belt on the Northern Hemisphere there may be about 8 - 10 mm/a contracting change; within the mid-latitude belt on the Southern Hemisphere there may be about 12-14 mm/a expanding change. This result not only validates the reverse global tectonic change in the Southern and Northern Hemispheres of the Earth, but also gives relatively precise quantative estimations.SUN Fuping ZHAO Ming NING Jinsheng CHAO Dingbo 2000Chinese Science Bulletin2000,45,7:0
