1Effect of ZnO Precursor on Properties of Calcium Aluminate Cement Bonded Corundum Castables显示文摘Calcium aluminate cement(CAC)bonded corundum based castables were prepared using tabular corundum and activated alumina as the starting materials,CAC as the binder,zinc hydroxide(Zn(OH)_(2))and basic zinc carbonate(BZC)as the ZnO precursors.The effects of the two ZnO precursors on the phase composition and the microstructure of the CAC bonded corundum based castable matrix specimens were analyzed,and the reasons affecting the hot performance of the castables were studied.The results show that Zn(OH)_(2) with a smaller particle size(d_(50)=1.26μm)is prone to agglomerate during sample preparation and generates ZnAl_(2)O_(4) spinel grains after firing,hindering the growth of CA_(6),thus decreasing the mechanical strength of the castables.BZC with a larger particle size(d_(50)=2.91μm),which shows a sound dispersity,in-situ generates nano-sized ZnO after firing,and ZnO or Zn^(2+)diffuses into calcium aluminates,promoting the sintering of CA_(2) and CA_(6),thereby enhancing the hot properties of the CAC-bonded corundum based castables.GUO Liu ZHAO Zongqiang MA Junhua CHEN Liugang 2021China's Refractories2021,30,4:1
2Effect of ZnO on Oxidation Resistance of Low Carbon MgO-C Refractories显示文摘Al-containing low carbon MgO- C refractories were prepared using 70%( in mass,the same hereinafter)fused magnesia( ≤3 mm),24% fused magnesia powder( < 0. 074 mm),3% flake graphite,3% Al powder and 4% phenolic resin( extra-added) as the basic formulation. Influence of ZnO addition on oxidation resistance of the materials was investigated by adding 1%ZnO to substitute fused magnesia powder. The relationship between in-situ formed spinel and ZnO in the matrix was discussed by comparing apparent porosity, cold crushing strength,and phase evolution of the materials matrix. The oxidation resistances of the two materials were compared by observing the formed dense MgO layer between the decarburized layer and the original layer.The result shows that adding ZnO in MgO- C refractories accelerates the in-situ formation of ZnAl2O4spinel and the formation of dense MgO layer,thus improves the oxidation resistance of the low carbon MgO- C refractories.XIE Zhaohui CHEN Liugang ZHAI Pengtao ZHANG Yang 2014China's Refractories2014,23,2:0
3Binder Effect on Properties of Cr_(2)O_(3)-bearing Corundum-based Refractory Castables显示文摘Cr_(2)O_(3)-bearing castables bonded with reactive MgO(RM)or calcium aluminate cement(CAC)were studied to evaluate the binder effect on their performance in corrosive environments.The properties of the as-prepared castables were compared with respect to the differences in phase composition and microstructure.The corrosion behavior of the as-prepared castables by CaO-Al_(2)O_(3)-Fe_(2)O_(3)-SiO_(2)-based slag was systematically compared viarefractory cup testing at 1600℃with respect to the differences in phase composition and microstructure.The analysis indicates that RM bonded castables show higher apparent porosity,lower bulk density and strengths after drying at 110℃and firing at 1300℃,and higher permanent linear change after firing at 1300℃,but better slag corrosion and infiltration resistance compared with CAC bonded castables.ZHANG Hongrui CHEN Liugang 2023China's Refractories2023,32,3:0
