| 1 | Growth of LaBr_3:Ce^(3+) Single Crystal by Vertical Bridgman Process in Nonvacuum Atmosphere显示文摘The growth of LaBr3:Ce3+ crystal by the vertical Bridgman process in a nonvacuum atmosphere was reported. According to the dehydration procedure of LaBr3·7H2O and CeBr3·7H2O investigated by differential thermal analysis/thermogravimetry (DTA/TG), anhydrous LaBr3 and CeBr3 were prepared by heating LaBr3·7H2O and CeBr3·7H2O at 240–260°C for 5–6 h in dried HBr atmosphere. Using the feed materials prepared from the anhydrous lanthanon bromides, a 0.5 mole fraction Ce3+ doped LaBr3 crystal with size of φ25 mm×50 mm had been grown by vertical Bridgman process successfully. By sealing the feed material in a platinum crucible, the crystal could be grown in a nonvacuum atmosphere as the oxidization and volatilization of the melt could be avoided. The crystal was grown with the optimum conditions such as a growth rate of 0.5–1.0 mm/h and a temperature gradient of around 30°C/cm across solid-liquid interface under a furnace temperature of 850–880°C. The crystal was characterized by DTA/TG, X-ray diffraction (XRD), optical transmission, photoluminescence and X-ray stimulated luminescence measurement. | 2 | Petrography and chronology of lunar meteorite Northwest Africa 6950显示文摘Northwest Africa(NWA)6950 is an olivine-gabbro lunar meteorite that has a distinctly different petrographic texture from other lunar basalts.In this contribution,we report the petrography,mineralogy,and U-Pb geochronology of baddeleyite and phosphate in this lunar meteorite and make a comparison with other NWA 773 paired meteorites.NWA 6950 consists mainly of coarse-grained olivine,pyroxene,and plagioclase,with minor ilmenite,chromite,troilite,baddeleyite,taenite,and apatite.The abundant rounded to euhedral olivine has a limited Fo ranging from 68 to 69.Pyroxenes include both augite and pigeonite,with a narrow range of Mg#=71–80,and composition,respectively,En46-52Fs12-16Wo32-41 and En58-68Fs19-28Wo7-20.Plagioclase is mainly anhedral,conforming to the crystal margins of olivine and pyroxene.The plagioclase grains are elongated and several hundreds of microns in length.Raman spectra shows that plagioclase has been transformed into maskelynite,which is very calcic(An87-95)with low sodium and very low potassium(Ab4-9Or0.6-3.7).The weighted mean 207Pb/206Pb ages of baddeleyite and phosphate measured using a sensitive high resolution ion micro probe(SHRIMP II)are 3119±16 Ma(n=9,MSWD=2.5)(mean squared weighted deviates,MSWD)and 3119±18 Ma(n=15,MSWD=2.1),respectively,giving the crystallization age of the meteorite.NWA 6950 has similar mineral compositions,geochemical characteristics,and an almost identical age of crystallization to the magnesian gabbro of the NWA 773 clan.We conclude that NWA 6950 and NWA 773 are paired meteorites,which crystallize at ca.3119 Ma,and represent magmatic activities in the KREEP(potassium(K),rare earth elements(REE)and phosphorus(P)rich lunar material)region of the Moon. | Zemin BAO Yuruo SHI JLawford ANDERSON Allen KENNEDY Zuokai KE Xiangping GU Peizhi WANG Xiaochao CHE Yuelan KANG Huiyi SUN Chen WANG | 2020 | Science China(Information Sciences)2020,63,4: | 2 |

| 13 | Construction, photoelectric response and phase transition for new hybrid double perovskites showing narrow band gaps显示文摘To explore the lead-free key scientific issue in perovskite, double perovskite based on Ag Bi and Cu Bi was naturally selected as a competitive candidate due to its fascinating functional features, such as self-powered circularly polarized light detection, X-ray detection, photoluminescence and so on. However, the most challenging point is to simulate the structure and function of traditional lead-based perovskite in new double perovskite. At the same time, there are few suitable double perovskite systems with optical and electrical potential. The above two points greatly limit the competitiveness of double perovskite. In order to solve this problem, firstly, by analyzing and comparing previous studies,we used 2,2-dimethylpropan-1-aminium(abbreviated as 2,2-DPA) as the organic template to assemble materials. Solid-to-solid phase transition materials(2,2-DPA)3Bi2I91 and(2,2-DPA)3Pb2I72 were constructed. Along the path of lead-free and two-dimensional maintenance, we successfully synthesized(2,2-DPA)4AgBiI8.H_(2)O 3 and(2,2-DPA)_(4)CuBiI8.H_(2)O 4. As two typical semiconductors, 3 and 4 with narrower optical band gaps of 1.98 and 1.76 e V show obvious photo-response when the xenon lamp with intensity of 20 m W/cm^(2)is on or off, implying that they may be applied to light-harvesting and light-detecting devices. By referring to the phase transition mechanism of 1 and 2, 3 may be caused by ordered-disordered transition of the organic part, which was proven to be the first solid-to-solid phase transition material with <100>-oriented layered double perovskites with n = 1 by systematic characterization methods after dehydration for all we know.
