1Elimination of senescent cells byβ-galactosidase-targeted prodrug attenuates inflammation and restores physical function in aged mice显示文摘Cellular senescence,a persistent state of cell cycle arrest,accumulates in aged organisms,contributes to tissue dysfunction,and drives age-related phenotypes.The clearance of senescent cells is expected to decrease chronic,low-grade inflammation and improve tissue repair capacity,thus attenuating the decline of physical function in aged organisms.However,selective and effective clearance of senescent cells of different cell types has proven challenging.Herein,we developed a prodrug strategy to design a new compound based on the increased activity of lysosomalβ-galactosidase(β-gal),a primary characteristic of senescent cells.Our prodrug SSK1 is specifically activated byβ-gal and eliminates mouse and human senescent cells independently of senescence inducers and cell types.In aged mice,our compound effectively cleared senescent cells in different tissues,decreased the senescence-and age-associated gene signatures,attenuated low-grade local and systemic inflammation,and restored physical function.Our results demonstrate that lysosomalβ-gal can be effectively leveraged to selectively eliminate senescent cells,providing a novel strategy to develop anti-aging interventions.Yusheng Cai Huanhuan Zhou Yinhua Zhu Qi Sun Yin Ji Anqi Xue Yuting Wang Wenhan Chen Xiaojie Yu Longteng Wang Han Chen Cheng Li Tuoping Luo Hongkui Deng 2020Cell Research2020,30,7:12

3Disentangling the factors that contribute to variation in forest biomass increments in the mid-subtropical forests of China显示文摘Mid-subtropical forests are the main vegetation type of global terrestrial biomes, and are critical for maintaining the global carbon balance. However, estimates of forest biomass increment in mid-subtropical forests remain highly uncertain. It is critically important to determine the relative importance of different biotic and abiotic factors between plants and soil, particularly with respect to their influence on plant regrowth. Consequently,it is necessary to quantitatively characterize the dynamicspatiotemporal distribution of forest carbon sinks at a regional scale. This study used a large, long-term dataset in a boosted regression tree(BRT) model to determine the major components that quantitatively control forest biomass increments in a mid-subtropical forested region(Wuyishan National Nature Reserve, China). Long-term,stand-level data were used to derive the forest biomass increment, with the BRT model being applied to quantify the relative contributions of various biotic and abiotic variables to forest biomass increment. Our data show that total biomass(t) increased from 4.62 9 106 to 5.30 9 106 t between 1988 and 2010, and that the mean biomass increased from 80.19 ± 0.39 t ha-1(mean ± standard error) to 94.33 ± 0.41 t ha-1in the study region. The major factors that controlled biomass(in decreasing order of importance) were the stand, topography, and soil. Stand density was initially the most important stand factor, while elevation was the most important topographic factor. Soil factors were important for forest biomass increment but have a much weaker influence compared to the other two controlling factors. 5Space qualification mechanical tests of HTS filters for satellite application显示文摘High performance high-temperature superconducting (HTS) filters have been designed and constructed for satellite application. The filters are actually a superconducting integration of an 8-pole band-pass filter with an adjustable band-stop filter onto a single piece of LaAlO3 substrate (with dimension of 0.5×45×20 mm3). Typical results of the filters, i.e., Filters A (made by YBCO) & B (made by TBCCO) will be reported. The measured responses of Filter A showed excellent specifications, e.g., an insertion loss less than 0.1 dB, a return loss better than -22.5 dB in pass-band, band-edge steepness greater than 12 dB/MHz and out-of-band rejection at a certain band deeper than -110 dB. To satisfy the requirement of rocket launch and space operation, three filters of the above design have undergone mechanical environmental simulation tests for space qualification. Detailed analysis of the response curves of Filter B measured before and after the tests showed that no noticeable change in the per-formance can be found. 10Excellent electromagnetic wave absorption of MOF/SiBCN nanomaterials at high temperature显示文摘Electromagnetic wave absorbing materials at high-temperature are urgently needed for stealth aircrafts or aero-engines worked in harsh environments.In this contribution,cobaltcontaining siliconboron carbonitride(MOF/SiBCN)nanomaterials were prepared by pyrolyzing metal–organic framework,i.e.cobalt 2-methylimidazole(ZIF-67),and hyperbranched polyborosilazane.The rhombic dodecahedral ZIF-67 and cobalt element promoted in situ formation of dielectric loss phases,including SiC nanocrystals,CoSi nanocrystals and turbostratic carbons.The ZIF-67/SiBCN nanomaterials showed excellent microwave absorption both at room and elevated temperature.The minimum reflection coefficient(RC_(min))was-51.6dB and effective absorption bandwidth(EAB)is 3.93GHz at room temperature.At an elevated temperature of 600℃,the RC_(min) reached-30.29 dB and EAB covered almost the whole X-band(3.95GHz,8.45–12.4GHz).The ZIF-67/SiBCN nanocomposites are promising and useful platform for microwave absorbing materials at high-temperature.It may shed light on the downstream applications in designing next generation areo-engines and stealth aircrafts.Chunjia LUO Peng MIAO Yusheng TANG Jie KONG 2021Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2021,34,11:1
11Transcription factor EB(TFEB)-mediated autophagy protects bovine mammary epithelial cells against H_(2)O_(2)-induced oxidative damage in vitro显示文摘Background:Bovine mammary epithelial cells after calving undergo serious metabolic challenges and oxidative stress both of which could compromise autophagy.Transcription factor EB(TFEB)-mediated autophagy is an important cytoprotective mechanism against oxidative stress.However,effects of TFEB-mediated autophagy on the oxidative stress of bovine mammary epithelial cells remain unknown.Therefore,the main aim of the study was to investigate the role of TFEB-mediated autophagy in bovine mammary epithelial cells experiencing oxidative stress.Results:H_(2)O_(2) challenge of the bovine mammary epithelial cell MAC-T increased protein abundance of LC3-II,increased number of autophagosomes and autolysosomes while decreased protein abundance of p62.Inhibition of autophagy via bafilomycin A1 aggravated H_(2)O_(2)-induced reactive oxygen species(ROS)accumulation and apoptosis in MAC-T cells.Furthermore,H_(2)O_(2) treatment triggered the translocation of TFEB into the nucleus.Knockdown of TFEB by siRNA reversed the effect of H_(2)O_(2) on protein abundance of LC3-II and p62 as well as the number of autophagosomes and autolysosomes.Overexpression of TFEB activated autophagy and attenuated H_(2)O_(2)-induced ROS accumulation.Furthermore,TFEB overexpression attenuated H_(2)O_(2)-induced apoptosis by downregulating the caspase apoptotic pathway.Conclusions:Our results indicate that activation of TFEB mediated autophagy alleviates H_(2)O_(2)-induced oxidative damage by reducing ROS accumulation and inhibiting caspase-dependent apoptosis.Xudong Sun Renxu Chang Yan Tang Shengbin Luo Chunhui Jiang Hongdou Jia Qiushi Xu Zhihao Dong Yusheng Liang Juan J.Loor Chuang Xu 2021Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2021,12,3:1

14Removing microplastics from aquatic environments:A critical review显示文摘As one of the typical emerging contaminants,microplastics exist widely in the environment because of their small size and recalcitrance,which has caused various ecological problems.This paper summarizes current adsorption and removal technologies of microplastics in typical aquatic environments,including natural freshwater,marine,drinking water treatment plants(DWTPs),and wastewater treatment plants(WWTPs),and includes abiotic and biotic degradation technologies as one of the removal technologies.Recently,numerous studies have shown that enrichment technologies have been widely used to remove microplastics in natural freshwater environments,DWTPs,and WWTPs.Efficient removal of microplastics via WWTPs is critical to reduce the release to the natural environment as a key connection point to prevent the transfer of microplastics from society to natural water systems.Photocatalytic technology has outstanding pre-degradation effects on microplastics,and the isolated microbial strains or enriched communities can degrade up to 50%or more of pre-processed microplastics.Thus,more research focusing on microplastic degradation could be carried out by combining physical and chemical pretreatment with subsequent microbial biodegradation.In addition,the current recovery technologies of microplastics are introduced in this review.This is incredibly challenging because of the small size and dispersibility of microplastics,and the related technologies still need further development.This paper will provide theoretical support and advice for preventing and controlling the ecological risks mediated by microplastics in the aquatic environment and share recommendations for future research on the removal and recovery of microplastics in various aquatic environments,including natural aquatic environments,DWTPs,and WWTPs.Yusheng Pan Shu-Hong Gao Chang Ge Qun Gao Sijing Huang Yuanyuan Kang Gaoyang Luo Ziqi Zhang Lu Fan Yongming Zhu Ai-Jie Wang 2023Environmental Science and Ecotechnology2023,,1:0

16Status of transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt for portal hypertension in China:A national survey analysis显示文摘Aim:The transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt(TIPS)procedure has been performed in China for 30 years,but our understanding of the status and difficulties associated with the use of TIPS for portal hypertension is incomplete.This study aims to investigate the current situation of the use of TIPS for portal hypertension,which should aid the development of TIPS in China.Methods:This study involved a questionnaire survey,initiated by the China Portal Hypertension Alliance(CHESS)to investigate the use of TIPS for portal hypertension in China.Questionnaires were released on the Internet between August 16,2022 and September 16,2022.Detailed information was collected from 545 hospitals contracted by the CHESS in China,which performed TIPS surgery in 2021.Results:The 545 hospitals covers the majority of hospitals in China that conduct TIPS intervention.In the survey,a total of 13,527 TIPS interventions were carried out with 94.1%(498/545)of them had a system of routine follow‐up after TIPS.The majority(42.6%[232/545])believed that the main indication of TIPS was the control of acute bleeding.Overall,48.1%(262/545)carried out early or pre‐emptive TIPS,53.0%(289/545)carried out TIPS for cavernous transformation of the portal vein,and 81.0%(441/545)chose routine embolization of collateral circulation during operation.Most used coils(97.0%[475/490])and biological glue(72.0%[353/490])as embolic materials,and 78.5%(428/545)routinely performed intraoperative portal pressure gradient measurements.When selecting TIPS stents,57.1%(311/545)chose viator‐specific stents,and 57.2%(312/545)chose conventional anticoagulation after TIPS.Conventional anticoagulation after TIPS is over a time interval of 3–6 months(55.4%[173/312]).The limitation of TIPS surgery is mainly its cost(72.3%[394/545])and insufficient understanding of the procedure by doctors in other related departments(77.4%[422/545]).Most of the hospital teams accept the use of domestic instruments in TIPS surgery(92.7%[505/545]).Conclusions:This survey shows that TIPS is an essential part of the treatment of portal hypertension in China.TIPS is widely used in Chinese patients with portal hypertension,and this survey presents a more comprehensive picture of the options and difficulties encountered in the implementation of TIPS.In the future,it is necessary to promote TIPS technology and further standardize surgical indications,routine operations,and instrument application.Haibo Shao Xinwei Han Jianbo Zhao Junhui Sun Zhuting Fang Bin Xiong Xiaoli Zhu Weixin Ren Min Yuan Shiping Yu Meng Niu Weifu Lv Xueqiang Zhang Chunqing Zhang Lei Li Xuefeng Luo Yusheng Song Yilong Ma Tong Dang Hua Xiang Yun Jin Hui Xue Guiyun Jin Xiao Li Jiarui Li Shi Zhou Changlu Yu Song He Lei Yu Hongmei Zu Jun Ma Yanming Lei Ke Xu Xiaolong Qi 2023Portal Hypertension & Cirrhosis2023,2,1:0
17Experimental cloning of embryos through human-rabbit inter-species nuclear transfer显示文摘Therapeutic cloning,which is based on human somatic cell nuclear transfer,is one of our major research objectives.Though inter-species nuclear transfer has been introduced to construct human somatic cell cloned embryos,the effects of type,passage,and preparation method of donor cells on embryo development remain unclear.In our experiment,cloned embryos were reconstructed with different passage and preparation methods of ossocartilaginous cell,skin fibroblast,and cumulus cells.The cumulus cell embryos showed significantly higher development rates than the other two(P<0.05).The development rate of embryos reconstruct-ed with skin fibroblasts of different passage number and somatic cells of different chilling durations showed no significant difference.Also,fluorescence in situ hybridization(FISH)was conducted to detect nuclear derivation of the embryos.The result showed that the nuclei of the inter-species cloned embryo cells came from human.We conclude that(1)cloned embryos can be constructed through human-rabbit interspecies nuclear transfer;(2)different kinds of somatic cells result in different efficiency of nuclear transfer,while in vitro passage of the donor does not influence embryo development;(3)refrigeration is a convenient and efficient donor cell preparation method.Finally,it is feasible to detect DNA genotype through FISH.JI Jingjuan GUO Tonghang TONG Xianhong LUO Lihua ZHOU Guixiang FU Yingyun LIU Yusheng 2007Frontiers in Biology2007,2,1:0

19Selective Laser Melting under Variable Ambient Pressure: A Mesoscopic Model and Transport Phenomena显示文摘Recent reports on the selective laser melting(SLM)process under a vacuum or low ambient pressure have shown fewer defects and better surface quality of the as-printed products.Although the physical process of SLM in a vacuum has been investigated by high-speed imaging,the underlying mechanisms governing the heat transfer and molten flow are still not well understood.Herein,we first developed a mesoscopic model of SLM under variable ambient pressure based on our recent laser-welding studies.We simulated the transport phenomena of SLM 316L stainless steel powders under atmospheric and 100 Pa ambient pressure.For typical process parameters(laser power:200W;scanning speed:2m∙s^(-1);powder diameter:27 lm),the average surface temperature of the cavity approached 2800 K under atmospheric pressure,while it came close to 2300 K under 100 Pa pressure.More vigorous fluid flow(average speed:4m∙s^(-1))was observed under 100 Pa ambient pressure,because the pressure difference between the evaporation-induced surface pressure and the ambient pressure was relatively larger and drives the flow under lower pressure.It was also shown that there are periodical ripple flows(period:14ls)affecting the surface roughness of the as-printed track.Moreover,the molten flow was shown to be laminar because the Reynolds number is less than 400 and is far below the critical value of turbulence;thus,the viscous dissipation is significant.It was demonstrated that under a vacuum or lower ambient pressure,the ripple flow can be dissipated more easily by the viscous effect because the trajectory length of the ripple is longer;thus,the surface quality of the tracks is improved.To summarize,our model elucidates the physical mechanisms of the interesting transport phenomena that have been observed in independent experimental studies of the SLM process under variable ambient pressure,which could be a powerful tool for optimizing the SLM process in the future.Renzhi Hu Manlelan Luo Anguo Huang Jiamin Wu Qingsong Wei Shifeng Wen Lichao Zhang Yusheng Shi Dmitry Trushnikov V.Ya.Belenkiy I.Yu.Letyagin K.P.Karunakaran Shengyong Pang 2021Engineering2021,7,8:0
20Studies on Solid-Liquid Phase Transfer Equilibrium of Onium Salts(Ⅱ)显示文摘The present paper contains the effects of the ammonium ion, counter ion, solvent and anion being transferred on the solid-liquid phase transfer equilibrium constant of quaternary ammonium salts.
