1The Effect of Toxic Sulfide Exposure on Oxygen Consumption and Oxidation Products in Urechis unicinctus(Echiura:Urechidae)显示文摘To investigate sulfide detoxification in Urechis unicinctus,oxygen consumption rate and sulfide detoxification productswere analyzed during sulfide exposure under controlled laboratory conditions.The results showed that oxygen consumption rateswere elevated significantly during 3 h sulfide exposure compared to the control(P<0.05).The concentration of sulfite in body walland hindgut of experimental worms increased significantly(P<0.05)when exposed to 50μmolL-1sulfide,reached a maximum at24 h and then decreased.Similar result was observed in worms exposed to 150μmolL-1sulfide except that sulfite concentrationreached a maximum at 12 h.Contents of thiosulfate in body wall and hindgut of U.unicinctus exposed to sulfide were also significantly higher than that of the control without sulfide exposure.In conclusion,during short-time sulfide exposure U.unicinctus mayraise oxygen consumption to detoxify toxic sulfide into sulfite and thiosulfate.Sulfide detoxification was restrained when the expo-sure time was prolonged or sulfide concentration was increased,which was indicated by decrease of sulfite,the intermediate productof sulfide detoxification.WANG Sifeng ZHANG Zhifeng CUI He KANG Kyoung Ho MA Zhuojun 2010Journal of Ocean University of China2010,9,2:10

3Estimation of genetic parameters for upper thermal tolerance and growth-related traits in turbot Scophthalmus maximus using the Bayesian method based on Gibbs sampling显示文摘In order to carry out the genetic improvement of turbot upper thermal tolerance, it is necessary to estimate the genetic parameters of UTT(upper thermal tolerance) and growth-related traits. The objective of this study was to estimate genetic parameters for BW(body weight) and UTT in a two-generational turbot(Scophthalmus maximus L.) pedigree derived from four imported turbot stocks(England, France, Denmark and Norway). A total of 42 families including 20 families from G1 generation and 22 families from G2 generation were used to test upper thermal tolerance(40–50 animals per family) in this study and the body weight of individuals were measured. The heritability of BW and UTT and the correlation between these two traits were estimated based on an individual animal model using Bayesian method based on two types of animal models with and without maternal effects.These results showed that the heritabilities for BW and UTT and phenotypic and genetic correlations between the two traits estimated from model without maternal effects were 0.239±0.141, 0.111±0.080, 0.075±0.026 and–0.019±0.011, respectively. The corresponding values from model with maternal effects were 0.203±0.115,0.055±0.026, 0.047±0.034 and –0.024±0.028, respectively. The maternal effects of BW and UTT were 0.050±0.017 and 0.013±0.004, respectively. The maternal effects had a certain influence on the genetic evaluation of the two traits. 4Eco-environmental water demands for the Baiyangdian Wetland显示文摘In recent years,the hydrological characters of Baiyangdian Wetland have changed greatly,which,in turn,influence the biotic component,the structure and function of the wetland ecosystem.In order to determine the demands for water resources of ecological wetland system,a method of ecological water level coefficient was suggested to calculate the water resources demands for wetland environment use.This research showed that the minimum coefficient is 0.94 and the optimal coefficient is more than 1.10.According to these two coefficients,the ecological water level and water quantity can be estimated.The results indicate that the amount of the minimal and optimal eco-environmental water require-ments are 0.87×10^(8) and 2.78×10^(8)m^(3) in average monthly,respectively,with the maximum eco-environmental water requirement in summer and the minimum in winter.The annual change of eco-environment water demand is in accord-ing with the climate change and hydrological characters.The method of ecological water level emphasizes that wetland ecosystem adapts to the hydrological conditions,so it can be used in practice well.Ping ZHONG Zhifeng YANG Baoshan CUI Jingling LIU 2008Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2008,2,1:2
