1Modified constraint-induced movement therapy alters synaptic plasticity of rat contralateral hippocampus following middle cerebral artery occlusion显示文摘Modified constraint-induced movement therapy is an effective treatment for neurological and motor impairments in patients with stroke by increasing the use of their affected limb and limiting the contralateral limb.However,the molecular mechanism underlying its efficacy remains unclear.In this study,a middle cerebral artery occlusion(MCAO)rat model was produced by the suture method.Rats received modified constraint-induced movement therapy 1 hour a day for 14 consecutive days,starting from the 7^th day after middle cerebral artery occlusion.Day 1 of treatment lasted for 10 minutes at 2r/min,day 2 for 20 minutes at 2 r/min,and from day 3 onward for 20 minutes at 4 r/min.CatWalk gait analysis,adhesive removal test,and Y-maze test were used to investigate motor function,sensory function as well as cognitive function in rodent animals from the 1st day before MCAO to the 21^st day after MCAO.On the 21^st day after MCAO,the neurotransmitter receptor-related genes from both contralateral and ipsilateral hippocampi were tested by micro-array and then verified by western blot assay.The glutamate related receptor was shown by transmission electron microscopy and the glutamate content was determined by high-performance liquid chromatography.The results of behavior tests showed that modified constraint-induced movement therapy promoted motor and sensory functional recovery in the middle cerebral artery-occluded rats,but had no effect on cognitive function.The modified constraint-induced movement therapy upregulated the expression of glutamate ionotropic receptor AMPA type subunit 3(Gria3)in the hippocampus and downregulated the expression of the beta3-adrenergic receptor gene Adrb3 and arginine vasopressin receptor 1 A,Avprla in the middle cerebral artery-occluded rats.In the ipsilateral hippocampus,only Adra2 a was downregulated,and there was no significant change in Gria3.Transmission electron microscopy revealed a denser distribution the more distribution of postsynaptic glutamate receptor 2/3,which is an a-amino-3-hydroxy-5-methyl-4-isoxazole-propionic acid receptor,within 240 nm of the postsynaptic density in the contralateral cornu ammonis 3 region.The size and distribution of the synaptic vesicles within 100 nm of the presynaptic active zone were unchanged.Western blot analysis showed that modified constraint-induced movement therapy also increased the expression of glutamate receptor 2/3 and brain-derived neurotrophic factor in the hippocampus of rats with middle cerebral artery occlusion,but had no effect on Synapsin I levels.Besides,we also found modified constraint-induced movement therapy effectively reduced glutamate content in the contralateral hippocampus.This study demonstrated that modified constraint-induced movement therapy is an effective rehabilitation therapy in middle cerebral artery-occluded rats,and suggests that these positive effects occur via the upregulation of the postsynaptic membrane a-amino-3-hydroxy-5-methyl-4-isoxazole-propionic acid receptor expression.This study was approved by the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee of Fudan University,China(approval No.201802173 S)on March 3,2018.Bei-Yao Gao Dong-Sheng Xu Pei-Le Liu Ce Li Liang Du Yan Hua Jian Hu Jia-Yun Hou Yu-Long Bai 2020Neural Regeneration Research2020,15,6:19
2The Change of the Inlet Geometry of a Centrifugal Compressor Stage and its Influence on the Compressor Performance显示文摘The impact on the compressor performance is important for designing the inlet pipe of the centrifugal compressor of a vehicle turbocharger with different inlet pipes. First, an experiment was performed to determine the compressor performance from three cases: a straight inlet pipe, a long bent inlet pipe and a short bent inlet pipe. Next, dynamic sensors were installed in key positions to collect the sign of the unsteady pressure of the centrifugal compressor. Combined with the results of numerical simulations, the total pressure distortion in the pipes, the pressure distributions on the blades and the pressure variability in the diffuser are studied in detail. The results can be summarized as follows: a bent pipe results in an inlet distortion to the compressor, which leads to performance degradation, and the effect is more apparent as the mass flow rate increases. The distortion induced by the bent inlet is not only influenced by the distance between the outlet of the bent section and the leading edge of the impeller but also by the impeller rotation. The flow fields in the centrifugal impeller and the diffuser are influenced by a coupling effect produced by the upstream inlet distortion and the downstream blocking effect from the volute tongue. 3Inlet Recirculation Influence to the Flow Structure of Centrifugal Impeller显示文摘Inlet recirculation is proved as an effective way for centrifugal compressor surge margin extension,and is successively used in some engineering applications.Unfortunately its working mechanism is still not being well understood,which leads to redesigning of inlet recirculation mostly by experience.Also,most study about inlet recirculation is steady to date.It is necessary to study surge margin extension mechanism about inlet recirculation.To expose the mechanism in detail,steady and unsteady numerical simulations were performed on a centrifugal compressor with and without inlet recirculation.The results showed that,with inlet recirculation,the inlet axial velocity is augmented,relative Mach number around blade tip leading edge area is significantly reduced and so is the flow angle.As the flow angle decreased,the incidence angle reduced which greatly improves the flow field inside the impeller.Moreover,inlet recirculation changes the blade loading around blade tip and restrains the flow separation on the blade suction side at the leading edge area.The unsteady results of static pressure around blade surface,entropy at inlet crossflow section and vorticity distributions at near tip span surface indicated that,at near stall condition,strong fluctuation exists in the vicinity of tip area due to the interaction between tip leakage flow and core flow.By inlet recirculation these strong flow fluctuations are eliminated so the flow stability is greatly enhanced.All these improvements mentioned above are the reason for inlet recirculation delays compressor stall.This research reveals the surge margin extension reason of inlet recirculation from an unsteady flow viewpoint and provides important reference for inlet recirculation structure design.YANG Ce CHEN Shan LI Du YANG Changmao WANG Yidi 2010Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2010,23,5:10
4Numerical and experimental research on different inlet configurations of high speed centrifugal compressor显示文摘Three different inlet configurations,including a original straight pipe and two bend pipes with different axial length,for a high speed low mass flow centrifugal compressor were modeled with whole blade passages and simulated unsteadily by 3D viscous Navier-Stokes equations.The performance disparities of compressor stage were tested and verified by experiments in which dynamic pressure data acquisition of internal flow field was performed.As the result shows,the choke point decreases to lower mass flow rate due to the distortion caused by bend-pipe inlet and is aggravated as the rotation speed increases.The distortion effect spreads circumferentially in impeller and makes the flow structure varied.The longer axial distance bent inlet leads to larger radial distortion and heavy blockage at mid-span under large mass flow mainly causes compressor choke margin nar-rowed.Bend pipe distortion brings an impact up to diffuser on unsteady pressure pulsation caused by blades sweep and the impact appears more powerful when it is closer to volute tongue.LI Du YANG Ce ZHOU Mi ZHU ZhiFu WANG Hang 2012Science China(Technological Sciences)2012,55,1:9

6High-efficiency 50 W burst-mode hundred picosecond green laser显示文摘We report high-energy,high-efficiency second harmonic generation in a near-infrared all-solid-state burst-mode picosecond laser at a repetition rate of 1 kHz with four pulses per burst using a type-I noncritical phase-matching lithium triborate crystal.The pulses in each burst have the same time delay(~1 ns),the same pulse duration(~100 ps)and different relative amplitudes that can be adjusted separately.A mode-locked beam from a semiconductor saturable absorber mirror is pulse-stretched,split into seed pulses and injected into a Nd:YAG regenerative amplifier.After the beam is reshaped by aspheric lenses,a two-stage master oscillator power amplifier and 4f imaging systems are applied to obtain a high power of^100 W.The 532 nm green laser has a maximum conversion efficiency of 68%,an average power of up to 50 W and a beam quality factor M^2 of 3.5.Ning Ma Meng Chen Ce Yang Shang Lu Xie Zhang Xinbiao Du 2020High Power Laser Science and Engineering2020,8,1:5
7Incidence, casualties and risk characteristics of civilian explosion blast injury in China: 2000-2017 data from the State Administration of Work Safety显示文摘Background: Civilian explosion blast injury is more frequent in developing countries, including China. However, the incidence, casualties, and characteristics of such incidents in China are unknown.Methods: This is a retrospective analysis of the State Administration of Work Safety database. Incidents during a period from January 1, 2000 to April 30, 2017 were included in the analysis. The explosions were classified based on the number of deaths into extraordinarily major, major, serious and ordinary type. Descriptive statistics was used to analyze the incidence and characteristics of the explosions. Correlation analysis was performed to examine the potential correlations among various variables.Results: Data base search identified a total of 2098 explosions from 2000 to 2017, with 29,579 casualties: 15,788 deaths(53.4%), 12,637 injured(42.7%) and 1154 missing(3.9%). Majority of the explosions were serious type(65.4%). The number of deaths(39.5%) was also highest with the serious type(P=0.006). The highest incidence was observed in the fourth quarter of the year(October to December), and at 9:00–11:00 am and 4:00–6:00 pm of the day. The explosions were most frequent in coal-producing provinces(Guizhou and Shanxi Province). Coal mine gas explosions resulted majority of the deaths(9620, 60.9%). The number of explosion accidents closely correlated with economic output(regional economy and national GDP growth rate)(r=–0.372, P=0.040;r=0.629, P=0.028).Conclusions: The incidence and civilian casualties due to explosions remain unacceptable in developing China. 9Numerical study on dynamic mechanism of brain volume and shear deformation under blast loading显示文摘Blast-induced traumatic brain injury(b-TBI)is a kind of significant injury to soldiers in the current military conflicts.However,the mechanism of b-TBI has not been well understood,and even there are some contradictory conclusions.It is crucial to reveal the dynamic mechanism of brain volume and shear deformations under blast loading for better understanding of b-TBI.In this paper,the numerical simulation method is adopted to carry out comprehensive and in-depth researches on this issue for the first time.Based on the coupled Eulerian-Lagrangian method,the fluid-structure coupling model of the blast wave and human head is developed to simulate two situations,namely the head subjected to the frontal and lateral impacts.The simulation results are analyzed to obtain the underlying dynamic mechanisms of brain deformation.The brain volume deformation is dominated by the local bending vibration of the skull,and the corresponding frequency for the forehead skull under the frontal impact and the lateral skull faced to the lateral impact is as high as 8 kHz and 5 kHz,respectively.This leads to the high-frequency fluctuation of brain pressure and the large pressure gradient along the skull,totally different from the dynamic response of brain under head collisions.While the brain shear deformation mainly depends on the relative tangential displacement between the skull and brain and the anatomical structure of inner skull,being not related to the brain pressure and its gradient.By further comparing the medical statistics,it is inferred that diffuse axonal injury and brain contusion,the two most common types of b-TBI,are mainly attributed to brain shear deformations.And the von Mises stress can be adopted as the indicator for these two brain injuries.This study can provide theoretical guidance for the diagnosis of b-TBI and the development of protective equipment.Zhijie Li Zhibo Du Xiaochuan You Zhanli Liu Jian Cheng Chengcheng Luo Dongyang Chu Shaowu Ning Yue Kang Ce Yang Zhuo Zhuang 2019Acta Mechanica Sinica2019,35,5:3
10Investigation on Centrifugal Impeller in an Axial-radial Combined Compressor with Inlet Distortion显示文摘Assembling an axial rotor and a stator at centrifugal compressor upstream to build an axial-radial combined compressor could achieve high pressure ratio and efficiency by appropriate size augment.Then upstream potential flow and wake effect appear at centrifugal impeller inlet.In this paper,the axial-radial compressor is unsteadily simulated by three-dimensional Reynolds averaged Navier-Stokes equations with uniform and circumferential distorted total pressure inlet condition to investigate upstream effect on radial rotor.The results show that spanwise nonuniform total pressure distribution is generated and radial and circumferential combined distortion is formed at centrifugal rotor inlet.The upstream stator wake deflects to rotor rotation direction and decreases with blade span increases.Circumferential distortion causes different separated flow formations at different pitch positions.The tip leakage vortex is suppressed in centrifugal blade passages.Under distorted inlet condition,flow direction of centrifugal impeller leading edge upstream varies evidently near hub and shroud but varies slightly at mid-span.In addition,compressor stage inlet distortion produces remarkable effect on blade loading of centrifugal blade both along chordwise and pitchwise.Du Li Ce Yang Ben Zhao Mi Zhou Mingxu Qi Jizhong Zhang 2011Journal of Thermal Science2011,20,6:3
11Multifractal filtering method for extraction of ocean eddies from remotely sensed imagery显示文摘Traditional methods of extracting the ocean wave eddy information from remotely sensed imagery mainly use the edge detection technology such as Canny and Hough operators. However, due to the complexities of ocean eddies and image itself, it is sometimes difficult to successfully detect ocean eddies using these methods. A multifractal filtering technology is proposed for extraction of ocean eddies and demonstrated using NASA MODIS,SeaWiFS and NOAA satellite data set in the typical area, such as ocean west boundary current. 14Topology optimization of turbine disk considering maximum stress prediction and constraints显示文摘For the stress-constrained topology optimization of a turbine disk under centrifugal loads,the jagged boundaries of the mesh and the gray densities on the solid/void interfaces could make the calculated stress field inconsistent with the actual value.It may result in overestimating the maximum stress and thus affect the effectiveness of stress constraints.This paper proposes a new method for predicting the maximum stress to overcome the difficulty.In the process,a predicted density is newly defined to obtain stable boundaries with thin layers of gray elements,a transition factor is innovatively proposed to evaluate the effects of intermediate-density elements,two different stiffness penalty schemes are flexibly used to calculate the elastic modulus of elements,and a linear stress penalty is further adopted to relax the stress field of the structure.The proposed approach for predicting the maximum stress value is verified by the analysis of a structure with smooth boundaries and the topology optimization of a turbine disk.An updating scheme of the stress constraint in the topology optimization is also developed using the predicted maximum stress.Some key ingredients affecting the optimization results are discussed in detail.The results prove the effectiveness and efficacy of the proposed maximum stress prediction and developed stress constraint methods.Cheng YAN Ce LIU Han DU Cunfu WANG Zeyong YIN 2023Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2023,36,8:1
