Dielectric metasurfaces for complete and independent control of the optical amplitude and phase显示文摘Metasurfaces are optically thin metamaterials that promise complete control of the wavefront of light but are primarily used to control only the phase of light. Here,we present an approach, simple in concept and in practice, that uses meta-atoms with a varying degree of form birefringence and rotation angles to create high-efficiency dielectric metasurfaces that control both the optical amplitude and phase at one or two frequencies. This opens up applications in computer-generated holography, allowing faithful reproduction of both the phase and amplitude of a target holographic scene without the iterative algorithms required in phase-only holography. We demonstrate all-dielectric metasurface holograms with independent and complete control of the amplitude and phase at up to two optical frequencies simultaneously to generate two-and three-dimensional holographic objects. We show that phaseamplitude metasurfaces enable a few features not attainable in phase-only holography;these include creating artifactfree two-dimensional holographic images, encoding phase and amplitude profiles separately at the object plane, encoding intensity profiles at the metasurface and object planes separately, and controlling the surface textures of three-dimensional holographic objects.Adam C.Overvig Sajan Shrestha Stephanie C.Malek Ming Lu Aaron Stein Changxi Zheng Nanfang Yu 2019Light(Science & Applications)2019,8,1:27

An Ethylene-inhibited NF-YC Transcription Factor RhNF-YC9 Regulates Petal Expansion in Rose显示文摘The speed of flower opening is closely related to their ornamental period.Ethylene functions as a negative regulator involved in the regulation of the petal expansion process. In this study,we isolated a NF-YC transcription factor gene,RhNF-YC9,fromrose petals.RhNF-YC9 expression was induced at the early stages of flower opening but was inhibited by ethylene treatment.Silencing RhNF-YC9 decreased the speed of petal expansion from stage 2 to stage 5.The expressions of 11 cell expansion-related genes involved in cell wall loosening, cell turgor modulation, and cytoskeleton remodeling were significantly down-regulated in RhNF-YC9-silenced petals. We also found that silencing RhNF-YC9 decreased the expression of gibberellin acid(GA)biosynthetic gene RhGA20ox while significantly increasing the transcripts of GA catabolic gene RhGA2ox,reducing the accumulation of GA4 and GA7.The influence of ethylene treatment on the expression of RhGA20ox and RhGA2ox showed the same trend. These results together suggested that RhNF-YC9 positively regulated the speed of petal expansion and mediated the crosstalk between ethylene and GA.Our findings revealed a new insight into the function of NF-YC transcription factors involved in ethylene-regulated petal expansion.Changxi Chen Nisar Hussain Yaru Wang Mingtong Li Lin Liu Meizhu Qin Nan Ma Junping Gao Xiaoming Sun 2020Horticultural Plant Journal2020,6,6:9
Choice behavior of commuters’rail transit mode during the COVID-19 pandemic based on logistic model显示文摘To understand whether commuters will take rail transit during the COVID-19 pandemic,a logistic regression model was constructed from three aspects of personal attributes, travel attributes and perception of COVID-19 based on 559 valid questionnaires. The results show that:occupation, commuting tools before the COVID-19 pandemic, walking time from residence to the nearest subway station, the possibility of being infected in private car and the possibility of being infected in public transport have significant influence on the commuters’choice of rail transit.Self-employed people and freelancers, commuters who used non-public transport before the COVID-19 pandemic, and commuters who take longer to walk from their residences to the nearest subway station are less likely to commute by rail transit during the COVID-19 pandemic.Commuters who think that the risk of being infected with the virus in public transport is higher have a lower probability of choosing rail transit. The confidence in bus/subway/taxi/taxi-hailing of commuters who do not choose to commute by rail transit during the COVID-19 pandemic is not high. The study of this paper can provide reference for the formulation of urban rail transit control measures during the COVID-19 pandemic,so as to formulate more perfect measures to ensure the safety of the returning workers.Limin Tan Changxi Ma 2021Journal of Traffic and Transportation Engineering(English Edition)2021,8,2:6
Bibliometric analysis and system review of vehicle routing optimization for emergency material distribution显示文摘Determining the optimal vehicle routing of emergency material distribution(VREMD)is one of the core issues of emergency management, which is strategically important to improve the effectiveness of emergency response and thus reduce the negative impact of large-scale emergency events. To summarize the latest research progress,we collected 511VREMD-related articles published from 2010 to the present from the Scopus database and conducted a bibliometric analysis using VOSviewer software.Subsequently,we cautiously selected 49 articles from these publications for system review;sorted out the latest research progress in model construction and solution algorithms;and summarized the evolution trend of keywords, research gaps, and future works. The results show that domestic scholars and research organizations held an unqualified advantage regarding the number of published papers. However, these organizations with the most publications performed poorly regarding the number of literature citations.China and the US have contributed the vast majority of the literature, and there are close collaborations between researchers from both countries. The optimization model of VREMD can be divided into single-,multi-,and joint-objective models. The shortest travel time is the most common optimization objective in the single-objective optimization model.Several scholars focus on multiobjective optimization models to consider conflicting objectives simultaneously. In recent literature, scholars have focused on the impact of uncertainty and special events(e.g.,COVID-19)on VREMD.Moreover, some scholars focus on joint optimization models to optimize vehicle routes and central locations(or material allocation)simultaneously.Solution algorithms can be divided into two primary categories,i.e.,mathematical planning methods and intelligent evolutionary algorithms. The branch and bound algorithm is the most dominant mathematical planning algorithm, while genetic algorithms and their enhancements are the most commonly used intelligent evolutionary algorithms. It is shown that the nondominated sorting genetic algorithmⅡ(NSGA-Ⅱ)can effectively solve the multiobjective model of VREMD.To further improve the algorithm’s performance, researchers have proposed improved hybrid intelligent algorithms that combine the advantages of NSGA-Ⅱand certain other algorithms.Scholars have also proposed a series of optimization algorithms for specific scenarios. With the development of new technologies and computation methods,it will be exciting to construct optimization models that consider uncertainty, heterogeneity, and temporality for large-scale real-world issues and develop generalized solution approaches rather than those applicable to specific scenarios.Jinxing Shen Kun Liu Changxi Ma Yongpeng Zhao Chuwei Shi 2022Journal of Traffic and Transportation Engineering(English Edition)2022,9,6:5
Pattern formation in 2-μm Tm Mamyshev oscillators associated with the dissipative Faraday instability显示文摘We investigate numerically the pattern formation in 2-μm thulium-doped Mamyshev fiber oscillators, associated with the dissipative Faraday instability. The dispersion-managed fiber ring oscillator is designed with commercial fibers, allowing the dynamics for a wide range of average dispersion regimes to be studied, from normal to nearzero cavity dispersion where the Benjamin–Feir instability remains inhibited. For the first time in the 2-μm spectral window, the formation of highly coherent periodic patterns is demonstrated numerically with rates up to ~100 GHz. In addition, irregular patterns are also investigated, revealing the generation of rogue waves via nonlinear collision processes. Our investigations have potential applications for the generation of multigigahertz frequency combs. They also shed new light on the dissipative Faraday instability mechanisms in the area of nonlinear optical cavity dynamics.Pan Wang Shunyu Yao Philippe Grelu Xiaosheng Xiao Changxi Yang 2019Photonics Research2019,7,11:4
Real-time collision dynamics of vector solitons in a fiber laser显示文摘Particle-like structures of solitons, as a result of the balance between dispersion and nonlinearity, enable remarkable elastic and inelastic soliton collisions in many fields. Despite the experimental observation of temporal vector-soliton collisions in birefringent fibers, collision dynamics of vector solitons in fiber lasers have not been revealed before, to the best of our knowledge. Here, the real-time spectral evolutions of vector solitons during collisions in a dual-comb fiber laser, which generates vector solitons with slightly different repetition rates, are captured by a time-stretch dispersive Fourier transform technique. We record the whole process of vector-soliton collisions, including the formation of weak pulses induced by cross-polarization coupling, opposite central wavelength shifts of both vector solitons, distinct intensity redistribution and dissipative energy, and gradual recovery to initial states. Furthermore, extreme collisions with strong four-wave mixing sidebands are observed by virtue of coherent coupling between the orthogonal polarization components of vector solitons. Numerical simulations match well with the experimental observations. The experimental and numerical evidences of vector-soliton collision dynamics could give insight into the understanding of nonlinear dynamics in fiber lasers and other physical systems, as well as the improvement of laser performance for application in dual-comb spectroscopy.Kangjun Zhao Chenxin Gao Xiaosheng Xiao Changxi Yang 2021Photonics Research2021,9,3:4
Observation of transition between multimode Q-switching and spatiotemporal mode locking显示文摘We report experimental observation of multimode Q-switching and spatiotemporal mode locking in a multimode fiber laser.A typical steady Q-switching state is achieved with a 1.88μs pulse duration,a 70.14 kHz repetition rate, and a 215.8 mW output power, corresponding to the single pulse energy of 3.08μJ.We find weak spatial filtering is essential to obtain stable Q-switched pulses,in contrast to the relatively stronger spatial filtering for spatiotemporal mode locking.Furthermore,a reversible transition process,as well as a critical bistable state, between multimode Q-switching and spatiotemporal mode locking,is achieved with specific spatial coupling and waveplates sets.We believe the results will not only contribute to understanding the complicated nonlinear dynamics in multimode,fiber-based platforms, but also benefit the development of promising high-pulse energy lasers.Kewei Liu Xiaosheng Xiao Changxi Yang 2021Photonics Research2021,9,4:3
Repeated exposure to moxa-burning smoke: its acute and chronic toxicities in rats显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To assess toxicities of the air in Chi-nese medicine clinics polluted by moxa-burning smoke due to moxibustion-derived burning products(MBP).METHODS: Both acute and chronic toxicity studies were conducted. For the acute toxicity study, five groups of Wistar rats(n = 16/group, male: female =1∶1) were exposed to five different concentrations(95%, 90%, 85%, 80% and 75%, respectively) of MBP for 2 h. For the chronic toxicity study, another three groups of male rats(n = 21/group) were exposed to MBP in three concentrations(10%, 40%and 70%, respectively) and one control group exposed to clean air 20 min/d for 144 d. Routine examinations were performed and analyzed by analysis of variance and dose-response relationship.RESULTS: In the acute toxicity study, the number of dead rats in the 95%, 90%, 85%, 80% and 75%groups were 16, 13, 7, 6 and 3, respectively, with LD50 of 86.274% after or during the 2 h exposure. In the chronic toxicity study, MBP exposure induced a decline in activity of the rats. Rats in the10% group showed no signs of toxicity, while those in the 40% MBP group showed toxicity effects on the body weights(P < 0.05) and lung. Rats in the70% MBP group also presented with reversible damage in the blood coagulation system(P < 0.05).CONCLUSION: Exposure to 10% MBP, which is equivalent to 27.45 mg/m3, was under the critical threshold for male rats' safety. Exposure to MBP above that limit induced lung damage. MBP in clinics need to be reduced to a safe level with enhanced ventilation.Han Li Liu Changxi Liu Ping Hu Hai Yang Jia Cai Hong Lim Minyee Zhu Maoxiang Pan Xiujie Huang Jian Cui Yingxue Lao Lixing Zhao Baixiao 2018Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2018,38,1:3
Buildup dynamics of multiple solitons in spatiotemporal mode-locked fiber lasers显示文摘Spatiotemporal mode locking is a nonlinear process of multimode soliton self-organization.Here the real-time buildup dynamics of the multiple solitons in a spatiotemporal mode-locked multimode fiber laser are investigated, assisted by the time-stretch technique. We find that the buildup processes are transverse mode dependent, especially during the stages of relaxation oscillation and Q-switching prior to multiple soliton formation.Furthermore,we observe that the transverse modal composition of these generated pulses among the multiple solitons can be different from each other, indicating the spatiotemporal structure of the multiple soliton.A simplified theoretical model based on pulse energy evolution is put forward to interpret the role of 3D saturable absorber on spatiotemporal structures of spatiotemporal mode-locking multiple solitons. Our work has presented the spatiotemporal nonlinear dynamics in multimode fiber lasers, which are novel to those inside the single transverse mode fiber lasers.KEWEI LIU XIAOSHENG XIAO YIHANG DING HONGYAN PENG DONGDONG LV CHANGXI YANG 2021Photonics Research2021,9,10:3

OPTICAL OPTIMIZATION FOR LIQUID CRYSTAL TEST BY LASER-CCD SYSTEM显示文摘For the narrowband of liner charge-coupled device (CCD) receiver and the imaging rule thatcylindrical lens system can compress round facula into narrow and long one, the system is simplified andlight force can concentrate on a strip facula. Considered the effective CCD length and selection of lensparameters, the system can be optimized. Correspondingly to the CCD pixels, the ray is composed ofmuch angle information. By widening the parallel ray or increasing the lens aperture, luminous flux canbe ensured when oblique incidence. Meanwhile, the effective working range can also be improved. Basedon the experimental data, cylindrical system could be applied in accurate angle measurement. It has beenproved feasible that the cylindrical system can be used in anchor behavior study for liquid crystal (LC)case. The low-power He-Ne laser cylindrical system can carry out the previous effect in high power laserspherical system.Chang Ying Zhu Henian Zhang Ziliang Yang Changxi 2005Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2005,18,3:2

Symmetry-based decomposition of finite games显示文摘The symmetry-based decompositions of finite games are investigated. First, the vector space of finite games is decomposed into a symmetric subspace and an orthogonal complement of the symmetric subspace. The bases of the symmetric subspace and those of its orthogonal complement are presented.Second, the potential-based orthogonal decompositions of two-player symmetric/antisymmetric games are presented. The bases and dimensions of all dual decomposed subspaces are revealed. Finally, some properties of these decomposed subspaces are obtained.Changxi LI Fenghua HE Ting LIU Daizhan CHENG 2019Science China(Information Sciences)2019,62,1:1
