| 1 | Molecular cloning and functional analysis of the FLOWERING LOCUS T(FT) homolog Gh FT1 from Gossypium hirsutum显示文摘FLOWERING LOCUS T(FT) encodes a member of the phosphatidylethanolamine-binding protein(PEBP) family that functions as the mobile floral signal, playing an important role in regulating the floral transition in angiosperms. We isolated an FT-homolog(Gh FT1) from Gossypium hirsutum L. cultivar,Xinluzao 33 Gh FT1 was predominantly expressed in stamens and sepals, and had a relatively higher expression level during the initiation stage of fiber development. Gh FT1 m RNA displayed diurnal oscillations in both long-day and short-day condition,suggesting that the expression of this gene may be under the control of the circadian clock. Subcellular analysis revealed that Gh FT1 protein located in the cytoplasm and nucleus. Ectopic expression of Gh FT1 in transgenic arabidopsis plants resulted in early flowering compared with wild-type plants. In addition,ectopic expression of Gh FT1 in arabidopsis ft-10 mutants partially rescued the extremely late flowering phenotype. Finally, several Researchflowering related genes functioning downstream of At FT were highly upregulated in the 35S::Gh FT1 transgenic arabidopsis plants. | 3 | Ambient air pollution and low temperature associated with case fatality of COVID-19: A nationwide retrospective cohort study in China显示文摘The evidence for the effects of environmental factors on COVID-19 case fatality remains controversial,and it is crucial to understand the role of preventable environmental factors in driving COVID-19 fatality.We thus conducted a nationwide cohort study to estimate the effects of environmental factors(temperature,particulate matter[PM2.5,PM10],sulfur dioxide[SO2],nitrogen dioxide[NO2],and ozone[O3])on COVID-19 case fatality.A total of 71,808 confirmed COVID-19 cases were identified and followed up for their vital status through April 25,2020.Exposures to ambient air pollution and temperature were estimated by linking the city-and county-level monitoring data to the residential community of each participant.For each participant,two windows were defined:the period from symptom onset to diagnosis(exposure window I)and the period from diagnosis date to date of death/recovery or end of the study period(exposure window II).Cox proportional hazards models were used to estimate the associations between these environmental factors and COVID-19 case fatality.COVID-19 case fatality increased in association with environmental factors for the two exposure windows.For example,each 10 mg/m^(3) increase in PM2.5,PM10,O3,and NO2 in window I was associated with a hazard ratio of 1.11(95%CI 1.09,1.13),1.10(95%CI 1.08,1.13),1.09(95 CI 1.03,1.14),and 1.27(95%CI 1.19,1.35)for COVID-19 fatality,respectively.A significant effect was also observed for low temperature,with a hazard ratio of 1.03(95%CI 1.01,1.04)for COVID-19 case fatality per 1C decrease.Subgroup analysis indicated that these effects were stronger in the elderly,as well as in those with mild symptoms and living in Wuhan or Hubei.Overall,the sensitivity analyses also yielded consistent estimates.Short-term exposure to ambient air pollution and low temperature during the illness would play a nonnegligible part in causing case fatality due to COVID-19.Reduced exposures to high concentrations of PM2.5,PM10,O3,SO2,and NO2 and low temperature would help improve the prognosis and reduce public health burden. | Fei Tian Xiaobo Liu Qingchen Chao Zhengmin(Min)Qian Siqi Zhang Li Qi Yanlin Niu Lauren DArnold Shiyu Zhang Huan Li Hualiang Lin Qiyong Liu | 2021 | The Innovation2021,2,3: | 2 |

| 5 | Genome-wide signatures of the geographic expansion and breeding of soybean显示文摘Soybean is a leguminous crop that provides oil and protein. Exploring the genomic signatures of soybean evolution is crucial for breeding varieties with improved adaptability to environmental extremes. We analyzed the genome sequences of 2,214 soybeans and proposed a soybean evolutionary route, i.e., the expansion of annual wild soybean(Glycine soja Sieb. & Zucc.) from southern China and its domestication in central China, followed by the expansion and local breeding selection of its landraces(G. max(L.) Merr.). We observed that the genetic introgression in soybean landraces was mostly derived from sympatric rather than allopatric wild populations during the geographic expansion. Soybean expansion and breeding were accompanied by the positive selection of flowering time genes, including GmSPA3c. | 11 | Dissolved organic carbon fractionation in wet deposition and its potential impact on radiative forcing in the central Tibetan Plateau显示文摘As an important component of carbonaceous matters,dissolved organic carbon(DOC)can absorb and scatter the solar radiation at ultraviolet and blue wavelengths.The wet deposition process has great impact on the con-centration and light absorption ability of precipitation DOC,affecting the climatic effect caused by DOC in the atmosphere.In this study,light absorption and fluorescence characteristics of precipitation DOC was investigated in the central Tibetan Plateau(TP).The results showed that the mean DOC concentration and mass absorption cross-section measured at 365 nm(MAC_(365)) in Tanggula(TGL)station were 0.59±0.42 mg/L and 0.37±0.19 m^(2)/g,respectively,while both values showed much higher volatilities than those of aerosols.DOC concentrations had significant negative correlation with the precipitation amount,while MAC_(365) values increase with the precipitation amount in TGL station.Therefore,DOC with high light-absorbing ability was preferred to be retained in the atmosphere during wet deposition.In this study,precipitation DOC contained three fluorescent components(one humic-like component and two tyrosine-like components)mainly from local biomass burning sources.DOC concentration showed a negative relationship with MAC_(365) value in TGL station.The wet deposition of DOC with low light-absorbing ability can reduce the strong negative radiative forcing caused by secondary organic aerosol due to high proportion of DOC in secondary organic carbon.Similar phenomenon was also found in Nam Co,Lulang and Everest stations of previous study,which may have a potential impact on radiative forcing in the atmosphere of TP. | ZhaoFu Hu ChaoLiu Li ShiChang Kang XiaoFei Li Chao Zhang Fangping Yan XiaoBo He PengFei Chen | 2023 | Research in Cold and Arid Regions2023,15,4: | 0 |

| 14 | Pressure-tuning domain-wall chirality in noncentrosymmetric magnetic Weyl semimetal CeAlGe显示文摘Topological magnetic Weyl semimetals have been proposed to host controllable chiral domain walls which bear a great prospect in device applications. To exploit them in applications, it is important to have a proper way to tune and manipulate these domain walls. One possible means is through magnetoelastic coupling. The involvement of rare earth in the lately proposed RAl X(R =rare earth, X = Si and Ge) family magnetic Weyl semimetals may provide such a platform. Here we present the transport and thermodynamic properties of Ce Al Ge under hydrostatic pressure. We find that pressure enhances the antiferromagnetic exchange in Ce Al Ge but essentially retains its magnetic structure. A large topological Hall effect with a pronounced loop shape is observed within the magnetically ordered state, and it splits into two regions under pressure. Such an unusual electromagnetic response is inferred to be a consequence of chiral magnetic domain walls. | 15 | Evolution of TWIN SISTER of FT(TSF) Genes in Brassicaceae显示文摘FT and its homolog, TWIN SISTER OF FT(TSF), act redundantly as integrators in flora transition pathways in Arabidopsis thaliana. The evolution of these key fl wering regulatory genes during Brassicaceae speciation has not been well studied; therefore, we investigated their evolution in 13 sequenced Brassicaceae species. While the phylogenetic analysis indicated that FT gene evolution has followed two independent lineagespecifi routes, TSF evolution does not appear to have been completely consistent within the Brassicaceae lineage I and lineage II division. The two TSF copies in the Thellungiella genus were divided into A and B groups in the phylogenetic analysis. Examination of conserved non-coding sequences and conserved domains within a 5 kb region upstream of the TSF start codon revealed the same group division inferred by the phylogenetic analysis. In addition, TSF genes retained syntenic relationships among genes in the same group, but not between group A and group B.The two copies of the TSF gene in the Thellungiella species were syntenic to the TSF genes in group A and group B, respectively. We also identifie TSF-A gene residues in the syntenic region of group B species, but no TSF-B residues could be found in the group A syntenic region. Therefore,we inferred that the TSF genes in lineage II species experienced a duplication event after diversificatio from lineage I. | 18 | Effect of Enhanced Plasma Density on the Properties of Aluminium Doped Zinc Oxide Thin Films Produced by DC Magnetron Sputtering显示文摘Aluminum doped zinc oxide (AZO) thin films were prepared by DC magnetron sputtering at low substrate temperature. A coaxial solenoid coil was placed near the magnetron target to enhance the plasma density (Ji). The enhanced plasma density improved significantly the bulk resistivity (ρ) and its homogeneity in spatial distribution of AZO films. X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis revealed that the increased Ji had inuenced the crystallinity, stress relaxation and other material properties. The AZO films deposited in low plasma density (LPD) mode showed marked variation in ρ (ranging from ~6.5×10?2 to 1.9×10-3 ·cm), whereas those deposited in high plasma density (HPD) mode showed a better homogeneity of films resistivity (ranging from ~1.3×10?3 to 3.3×10?3 ?·cm) at di?erent substrate positions. The average visible transmittance in the wavelength range of 500-800 nm was over 80%, irrespective of the deposition conditions. The atomic force microscopy (AFM) surface morphology showed that AZO films deposited in HPD mode were smoother than that in LPD mode.
