| 10 | A selective kernel-based cycle-consistent generative adversarial network for unpaired low-dose CT denoising显示文摘Low-dose computed tomography(LDCT)denoising is an indispensable procedure in the medical imaging field,which not only improves image quality,but can mitigate the potential hazard to patients caused by routine doses.Despite the improvement in performance of the cycle-consistent generative adversarial network(CycleGAN)due to the well-paired CT images shortage,there is still a need to further reduce image noise while retaining detailed features.Inspired by the residual encoder–decoder convolutional neural network(RED-CNN)and U-Net,we propose a novel unsupervised model using CycleGAN for LDCT imaging,which injects a two-sided network into selective kernel networks(SK-NET)to adaptively select features,and uses the patchGAN discriminator to generate CT images with more detail maintenance,aided by added perceptual loss.Based on patch-based training,the experimental results demonstrated that the proposed SKFCycleGAN outperforms competing methods in both a clinical dataset and the Mayo dataset.The main advantages of our method lie in noise suppression and edge preservation. | Chaoqun Tan Mingming Yang Zhisheng You Hu Chen Yi Zhang | 2022 | Precision Clinical Medicine2022,5,2: | 1 |

| 12 | Impact factors and pathways of halonitromethanes formation from aspartic acid during LED-UV265/chlorine disinfection显示文摘Light emitting diode (LED-UV)/chlorine disinfection can replace UV/chlorine disinfection in wastewater treatment plants and water supply plants. Halonitromethanes (HNMs) are a class of novel nitrogenous disinfection by-products, which are characterized by higher cytotoxicity and genotoxicity than regulated disinfection by-products. Herein, the impact factors and pathways of HNMs formation from aspartic acid (ASP) were investigated during LED-UV265/chlorine disinfection. The results showed that three types of chlorinated-HNMs (Cl-HNMs) were found during LED-UV265/chlorine disinfection, and their concentrations increased first and then declined as the reaction progressed. Cl-HNMs yields increased with increasing LED-UV265 intensity, free chlorine dosage, and ASP concentration, which declined with increasing pH (6.0–8.0). Meantime, the important impact of the coexisting ions contained in water matrices on HNMs formation from ASP was observed during LED-UV265/chlorine disinfection. It was found that copper ions (Cu2+) promoted Cl-HNMs formation. Furthermore, when bromide (Br–) appeared during LED-UV265/chlorine disinfection, nine types of HNMs were detected simultaneously. Moreover, Br– not only converted Cl-HNMs toward brominated (chlorinated)-HNMs and brominated-HNMs but also showed a marked effect on HNMs concentrations and species. Subsequently, the possible pathways of HNMs formation from ASP were proposed during LED-UV265/chlorine disinfection. At last, it was proved that the formation trends of HNMs obtained in the real waters were similar to those in simulated waters. | 13 | Causal Effect of Genetically Determined Blood Copper Concentrations on Multiple Diseases: A Mendelian Randomization and Phenome-Wide Association Study显示文摘Exposures to copper have become a health concern.We aim to explore the broad clinical effects of blood copper concentrations.A total of 376,346 Caucasian subjects were enrolled.We performed a Mendelian randomization and phenome-wide association study(MR-PheWAS)to evaluate the causal association between copper and a wide range of outcomes in UK Biobank,and we constructed a protein-protein interaction network.We found association between blood copper concentrations and five diseases in the overall population and nine diseases in male.MR analysis implicated a causal role of blood copper in five diseases(overall population),including prostate cancer(OR=0.87,95%CI 0.77-0.98),malignant and unknown neoplasms of the brain and nervous system(OR=0.58,95%CI 0.38-0.89),and hypertension(OR=0.94,95%CI 0.90-0.98),essential hypertension(OR=0.94,95%CI 0.90-0.98)and cancer of brain and nervous system(OR=0.63,95%CI 0.41-0.98).For male,except for dysphagia being newly associated with blood copper(OR=1.39,95%CI 1.18-1.63),other MR results were consistent with the overall population.In addition,the PPI network showed possible relationship between blood copper and four outcomes,namely brain cancer,prostate cancer,hypertension,and dysphagia.Blood copper may have causal association with prostate cancer,malignant and unknown neoplasms of the brain and nervous system,hypertension,and dysphagia.Considering that copper is modifiable,exploring whether regulation of copper levels can be used to optimize health outcomes might have public health importance. | Xiuming Feng Wenjun Yang Lulu Huang Hong Cheng Xiaoting Ge Gaohui Zan Yanli Tan Lili Xiao Chaoqun Liu Xing Chen Zengnan Mo Longman Li Xiaobo Yang | 2022 | Phenomics2022,2,4: | 0 |
| 14 | Evolution and trends of high myopia research from 2002 to 2021: a scientometric analysis显示文摘Background:Research on high myopia has gradually formed a complex network of knowledge,but a panorama of evolutionary trends is lacking.By conducting a scientometric analysis,we can gain a deeper understanding of the development and evolution of this field.Methods:The global literature on high myopia published from 2002 to 2021 was extracted from the Science Citation Index Expanded in the Web of Science Core Collection.Microsoft Excel,VOSviewer,and CiteSpace were used to analyse and visualize the bibliometric data.Publication-related information,including countries,journals,authors,citations,subject categories,and its’time trends,was analysed.Results:A total of 4,226 included publications showed an annually increasing trend during the past 20 years.The high myopia research hotspots were refractive error correction,epidemiology,ocular biometry,drug and laser treatment of myopic fundus lesions,and surgical treatment of myopic fundus lesions.Cocitation analysis showed that high myopia genetics and myopic fundus lesion research were the research frontiers.A total of 116 disciplines were involved in high myopia research.Ophthalmology(n=3,338)was the most dominant subject category.Engineering(betweenness centrality=0.65)was the discipline with the most obvious bridge role.Science&technology—other topics(burst years:2015–2021;strength=14.88)had the greatest strength as of 2021,which was the hottest subject category.Conclusions:High myopia genetics and myopic fundus lesion research showed a potential for breakthroughs.Medical-engineering cross-innovation is a cutting-edge technology trend. | Yuan Tan Weining Zhu Yingshi Zou Bowen Zhang Yinglin Yu Wei Li Chaoqun Xu Leyi Hu Guangming Jin Zhenzhen Liu | 2023 | Annals of Eye Science2023,8,4: | 0 |
