| 1 | Glutamine synthetase as an early marker for hepatocellular carcinoma based on proteomic analysis of resected smal hepatocel ular carcinomas显示文摘BACKGROUND:Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)is a highly malignant tumor with a poor prognosis.Because small HCCs possess most of the characteristics of early HCC,we investigated small HCCs to screen potential biomarkers for early diagnosis.METHODS:Proteins were extracted from 10 sets of paired tissue samples from HBV-infected small-HCC patients.The extracted proteins were well resolved by two-dimensional electrophoresis.These HCC-associated proteins were then identified by MALDI-TOF/TOF MS following image analysis.Western blotting and immunohistochemistry were used to assess glutamine synthetase(GS)and phenazine biosynthesislike domain-containing protein(PBLD)expression in liver tissue.Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays in 152 serum samples(from 49 healthy donors,24 patients with liver cirrhosis,and 79 with HCC)were used to further assess the significance of GS clinically.RESULTS:Fifteen up-regulated and three down-regulated proteins were identified.Western blotting confirmed GS overexpression and decreased PBLD expression in liver tissue.Immunohistochemistry showed that GS was expressed in 70.0%(84/120)of HCCs and 35.8%(43/120)of nontumor tissues;PBLD was expressed in 74.2%(89/120) of nontumor tissues and 40.8%(49/120)of HCCs.The Chi-square test showed significant expression differences between HCCs and adjacent tissues.Consistent with this,serum GS levels in HCC patients were significantly higher than those in liver cirrhosis patients and healthy donors,while the latter two groups were also significantly different.In addition, a diagnostic cutoff value of 2.6 mg/ml was used for GS;it was elevated in 19(76.0%)of 25 HCC patients with AFP≤20 ng/ml and 47(88.7%)of 53 HCC patients with AFP≤200 ng/ml.CONCLUSION:GS and PBLD are abnormally expressed in most HCCs.GS may be a novel serum marker for early HCC, especially for those patients with low AFP levels(≤200 ng/ml). | Jiang Long,Zhen-Wei Lang,Hua-Guang Wang,Tai-Ling Wang,Bao-En Wang and Si-Qi Liu Liver Research Center,Beijing Friendship Hospital, Capital Medical University,Beijing 100050,China Department of Hepatology,Department of Pathology, Beijing Youan Hospital,Capital Medical University,Beijing 100069,China Department of Pharmaceutical Affairs,Beijing Chaoyang Hospital,Capital Medical University,Beijing 100020,China Department of Pathology,China-Japan Friendship Hospital,Beijing 100029,China Beijing Genomics Institute,Chinese Academy of Science,Beijing Airport Industrial Zone B-6,Shunyi,Beijing 101300,China | 2010 | Hepatobiliary & Pancreatic Diseases International2010,9,3: | 21 |
| 2 | A systematic method of smooth switching LPV controllers design for a morphing aircraft显示文摘This paper is concerned with a systematic method of smooth switching linear parametervarying(LPV) controllers design for a morphing aircraft with a variable wing sweep angle. The morphing aircraft is modeled as an LPV system, whose scheduling parameter is the variation rate of the wing sweep angle. By dividing the scheduling parameter set into subsets with overlaps, output feedback controllers which consider smooth switching are designed and the controllers in overlapped subsets are interpolated from two adjacent subsets. A switching law without constraint on the average dwell time is obtained which makes the conclusion less conservative. Furthermore,a systematic algorithm is developed to improve the efficiency of the controllers design process. The parameter set is divided into the fewest subsets on the premise that the closed-loop system has a desired performance. | 4 | Traffic Flow Data Forecasting Based on Interval Type-2 Fuzzy Sets Theory显示文摘This paper proposes a long-term forecasting scheme and implementation method based on the interval type-2 fuzzy sets theory for traffic flow data. The type-2 fuzzy sets have advantages in modeling uncertainties because their membership functions are fuzzy. The scheme includes traffic flow data preprocessing module, type-2 fuzzification operation module and long-term traffic flow data forecasting output module, in which the Interval Approach acts as the core algorithm. The central limit theorem is adopted to convert point data of mass traffic flow in some time range into interval data of the same time range(also called confidence interval data) which is being used as the input of interval approach. The confidence interval data retain the uncertainty and randomness of traffic flow, meanwhile reduce the influence of noise from the detection data. The proposed scheme gets not only the traffic flow forecasting result but also can show the possible range of traffic flow variation with high precision using upper and lower limit forecasting result. | 5 | Plasma membrane-localized SlSWEET7a and SlSWEET14 regulate sugar transport and storage in tomato fruits显示文摘Sugars,especially glucose and fructose,contribute to the taste and quality of tomato fruits.These compounds are translocated from the leaves to the fruits and then unloaded into the fruits by various sugar transporters at the plasma membrane.SWEETs,are sugar transporters that regulate sugar efflux independently of energy or pH.To date,the role of SWEETs in tomato has received very little attention.In this study,we performed functional analysis of SlSWEET7a and SlSWEET14 to gain insight into the regulation of sugar transport and storage in tomato fruits.SlSWEET7a and SlSWEET14 were mainly expressed in peduncles,vascular bundles,and seeds.Both SlSWEET7a and SlSWEET14 are plasma membrane-localized proteins that transport fructose,glucose,and sucrose.Apart from the resulting increase in mature fruit sugar content,silencing SlSWEET7a or SlSWEET14 resulted in taller plants and larger fruits(in SlSWEET7a-silenced lines).We also found that invertase activity and gene expression of some SlSWEET members increased,which was consistent with the increased availability of sucrose and hexose in the fruits.Overall,our results demonstrate that suppressing SlSWEET7a and SlSWEET14 could be a potential strategy for enhancing the sugar content of tomato fruits. | Xinsheng Zhang Chaoyang Feng Manning Wang Tianlai Li Xin Liu Jing Jiang | 2021 | Horticulture Research2021,8,1: | 4 |

| 7 | Anti-VEGF therapy prevents Müller intracellular edema by decreasing VEGF-A in diabetic retinopathy显示文摘Background:Although vascular endothelial growth factor A(VEGF-A)is known to play a key role in causing retinal edema,whether and how VEGF-A induces intracellular edema in the retina still remains unclear.Methods:Sprague-Dawley rats were rendered diabetic with intraperitoneal injection of streptozotocin.Intravitreal injection of ranibizumab was performed 8 weeks after diabetes onset.rMC-1 cells(rat Müller cell line)were treated with glyoxal for 24 h with or without ranibizumab.The expression levels of inwardly rectifying K^(+)channel 4.1(Kir4.1),aquaporin 4(AQP4),Dystrophin 71(Dp71),VEGF-A,glutamine synthetase(GS)and sodium-potassium-ATPase(Na^(+)-K^(+)-ATPase)were examined using Western blot.VEGF-A in the supernatant of the cell culture was detected with ELISA.The intracellular potassium and sodium levels were detected with specific indicators.Results:Compared with normal control,protein expressions of Kir4.1 and AQP4 were down-regulated significantly in diabetic rat retinas,which were prevented by ranibizumab.The above changes were recapitulated in vitro.Similarly,the intracellular potassium level in glyoxal-treated rMC-1 cells was increased,while the intracellular sodium level and Na^(+)-K^(+)-ATPase protein level remained unchanged,compared with control.However,ranibizumab treatment decreased intracellular sodium,but not potassium.Conclusion:Ranibizumab protected Müller cells from diabetic intracellular edema through the up-regulation of Kir4.1 and AQP4 by directly binding VEGF-A.It also caused a reduction in intracellular osmotic pressure. | Tianqin Wang Chaoyang Zhang Hai Xie Mengmeng Jiang Haibin Tian Lixia Lu Guo-Tong Xu Lin Liu Jingfa Zhang | 2021 | Eye and Vision2021,8,1: | 3 |

| 9 | Study on Property of Salicylaldehyde Schiff Base Metal Complexes for Catalytic Oxidation of Model Sulfides显示文摘Seven kinds of Schiff base metal complexes(C1-C7)were synthesized by the reaction of substituted salicylaldehyde Schiff base with cobalt nitrate,nickel nitrate,and copper nitrate,respectively.The oxygen carrying performance,and the catalytic property of complexes for the oxidation of model sulfides 1-hexanethiol,dibutyl sulfide,and 2-methylthiophene along with their influencing factors were explored,while the oxidized products of the model sulfides were also analyzed and characterized.The results show that the catalytic oxidation property of the complexes is determined by their oxygen carrying performance and solubility in n-octane.The oxygen carrying performance of the complexes is mainly affected by the central ion species,the electronic effects,and the spatial effects of the substituents as well as the degree of conjugation.More specifically,the oxygen carrying performance can be improved by enhancing the oxygenation capacity of the central metal ions,increasing the electron donating ability of the ligand substituent,and diminishing the steric hindrance as well as extending the conjugated chain.Complexes C7 were found to be with high oxygen carrying capacity and high solubility in n-octane,which shows the best catalytic oxidation property,and the oxidation conversion rates for 1-hexylthiol,dibutyl sulfide,and 2-methylthiophene are 74.2%,65.1%,and 22.7%,respectively.Upon using the oxidation catalyst of Schiff base metal complexes,three sulfides can be oxidized by oxygen to form sulfones and sulfoxides.1-Hexanethiol and dibutyl sulfide will continue to be oxidized to form sulfates and sulfites. | Jia Chaoyang Liang Shuyuan Liu Lei Shao Xue Zhang Longli Wang Fangzhu Jiang Cuiyu | 2021 | China Petroleum Processing & Petrochemical Technology2021,23,1: | 2 |

| 12 | Reduced-order Kalman filtering for state constrained linear systems显示文摘This paper aims at solving the state filtering problem for linear systems with state constraints. Three classes of typical state constraints, i.e., linear equality, quadratic equality and inequality, are discussed. By using the linear relationships among different state variables, a reduced-order Kalman filter is derived for the system with linear equality constraints. Afterwards, such a solution is applied to the cases of the quadratic equality constraint and inequality constraints and the two constrained state filtering problems are transformed into two relative constrained optimization problems. Then they are solved by the Lagrangian multiplier and linear matrix inequality techniques, respectively. | 16 | Sustained release of hydrogen sulfide from anisotropic ferrofluid hydrogel for the repair of spinal cord injury显示文摘Spinal cord injury(SCI)results in massive neuronal death,axonal disruption,and cascading inflammatory response,which causes further damage to impaired neurons.The survived neurons with damaged function fail to form effective neuronal circuits.It is mainly caused by the neuroinflammatory microenvironment at injury sites and regenerated axons without guidance.To address this challenge,a ferrofluid hydrogel(FFH)was prepared with Ferric tetrasulfide(Fe3S4),carboxymethyl chitosan,and gold.Its internal structural particles can be oriented in a magnetic field to acquire anisotropy.Moreover,Fe3S4 can release hydrogen sulfide(H2S)with anti-inflammatory effects under acidic conditions.Regarding in vitro experiments,0.01g/ml Fe3S4 FFH significantly reduced the inflammatory factors produced by LPS-induced BV2 cells.Oriented and longer axons of the induced neural stem cells loaded on anisotropic FFH were observed.In vivo experiments showed that FFH reduced the activated microglia/macrophage and the expression of pro-inflammatory factors in SCI rats through the NF-κB pathway.Moreover,it significantly promoted directional axonal regrowth and functional recovery after SCI.Given the critical role of inhibition of neuroinflammation and directional axonal growth,anisotropic Fe3S4 FFH is a promising alternative for the treatment of SCI. | Ruofei Wang Xia-Xiao Wu Zhenming Tian Tian Hu Chaoyang Cai Guan-Ping Wu Gang-Biao Jiang Bin Liu | 2023 | Bioactive Materials2023,,5: | 1 |

| 20 | Thermo-Rheological Structure and Passive Continental Margin Rifting in the Qiongdongnan Basin, South China Sea, China显示文摘To investigate the thermo-rheological structure and passive continental margin rifting in the Qiongdongnan Basin(QDNB),thermo-rheological models of two profiles across the western and eastern QDNB are presented.The continental shelf of western QDNB,having the lowest crustal extension factor,is recognized as the initial non-uniform extension crust model.This regime is referred to as the jelly sandwich-1(JS-1)regime,having a lower crustal ductile layer.The oceanward part of the western QDNB changes from the relatively strong JS-1 to the weak crème brûlée-1(CB-1)regime with a significantly thinned lower crust.However,the crustal extension in the eastern QDNB is significantly higher than that in the western QDNB,with conjugate faults extending deep into the lower crust.The central depression zone of the eastern QDNB is defined as the much stronger JS-2 regime,having a brittle deformation across the entire crust and upper mantle and characteristics of a cold and rigid oceanic crust.Unlike the widespread lower crustal high-velocity layers(HVLs)in the northern margin of the South China Sea,the HVLs are confined to the lower crustal base of the central depression zone of the QDNB.The HVLs of QDNB are the results of non-uniform extension with mantle underplating during the lower crustal-necking stage,which is facilitated by the lower crustal ductile layer and derived by mantle lat-eral flowing.The gigantic mantle low-velocity zone related to the Red River Fault should be a necessary factor for the east-west differential margin rifting process of QDNB,which may drive the lateral flowing in the mantle. | LI Chaoyang JIANG Xiaodian GONG Wei | 2022 | Journal of Ocean University of China2022,21,2: | 0 |
