| 1 | Routine exposure of recurrent laryngeal nerve in thyroid surgery can prevent nerve injury显示文摘To determine the value of dissecting the recurrent laryngeal nerve during thyroid surgery with respect to preventing recurrent laryngeal nerve injury, we retrospectively analyzed clinical data from 5 344 patients undergoing thyroidectomy. Among these cases, 548 underwent dissection of the recurrent laryngeal nerve, while 4 796 did not. There were 12 cases of recurrent laryngeal nerve injury following recurrent laryngeal nerve dissection (injury rate of 2.2%) and 512 cases of recurrent laryngeal nerve injury in those not undergoing nerve dissection (injury rate of 10.7%). This difference remained statistically significant between the two groups in terms of type of thyroid disease, type of surgery, and number of surgeries. Among the 548 cases undergoing recurrent laryngeal nerve dissection, 128 developed anatomical variations of the recurrent laryngeal nerve (incidence rate of 23.4%), but no recurrent laryngeal nerve injury was found. In addition, the incidence of recurrent laryngeal nerve injury was significantly lower in patients with the inferior parathyroid gland and middle thyroid veins used as landmarks for locating the recurrent laryngeal nerve compared with those with the entry of the recurrent laryngeal nerve into the larynx as a landmark. | 4 | Discovery and its geological significance of the mantle- derived helium in the inclusions of the Ordovician oil-bearing reservoir rocks in the Huanghua depression,China显示文摘The values of the helium isotopes in the inclusions of the Ordovician reservoir rocks in the Kongxi buried hill belt in the Huanghua depression were first measured and the source of helium and its geological significance were investigated in comparison with those of the helium isotopes in the conclusions in the Ordovician rocks in the Ordos basin and the Tarim basin. The input of the mantle-derived helium into the inclusions in the carbonate reservoir rocks was found from the Konggu 3 well, the Konggu 4 well, and the Konggu 7 well in the Kongxi buried hill belt. The 3He/4He and R/Ra in the conclusions in the Ordovician oil-bearing reservoir rocks in the Konggu 7 well average 2.54×10-6(3) (sample quantity, the same below) and 1.82(3), respectively. The percent of the mantle-derived helium in the inclusions of the reservoir rocks in the Konggu 7 well reaches up to an average of 23.0%(3). The age of the contribution of the mantle-derived helium to the inclusions in the Kongxi buried hill belt is in the Late Triassic or the Early Tertiary. The finding of the mantle-derived helium shows that the interaction of the deep crust with mantle and the activity of deep faults occurred, the terrestrial heat flow value was high, and mantle-derived inorganic gas pools might be formed in the Kongxi buried hill belt. | 5 | 北斗导航系统卫星激光测距综述显示文摘Satellite laser ranging(SLR)is an unambiguous measurement technique and generates high accuracy satellite orbit data.All satellites in the BeiDou navigation satellite system(BDS)carried laser retro-reflector arrays(LRAs),so they can be tracked by ground SLR stations in order to provide the accurate observation data.The Shanghai astronomical observatory(SHAO)designed the LRAs,and also developed the dedicated SLR systems using a 1 m-aperture telescope and a transportable cabin-based SLR system with a telescopes of 60 cm aperture.These enable BDS satellite ranging during daytime and nighttime with centimeter-level precision,allowing highly accurate estimations of satellite orbits.Moreover,some of the BDS satellites are also equipped with laser time transfer(LTT)payloads,which were developed by the SHAO and China Academy of Space Technology(CAST),providing a highly accurate time comparison between the satellites and ground clocks.This paper describes the dedicated SLR system and the design of the LRAs for BDS satellites,as well as global SLR measurements.The SLR tracking data is used for evaluating the orbit accuracy of BDS satellites and broadcast ephemeris,with an accuracy of less than 1 m.The LTT measurements to BDS satellites for a single shot have a precision of approximately 300 picoseconds,with a time stability of 20 picoseconds in 500 s. | ZHANG Haifeng LONG Mingliang YANG Huafeng MENG Wendong CHENG Zhi’en DENG Huarong ZHANG Zhongping ZHANG A’li | 2020 | Aerospace China2020,21,4: | 4 |

| 7 | Co-fermented defatted rice bran alters gut microbiota and improves growth performance,antioxidant capacity,immune status and intestinal permeability of finishing pigs显示文摘Based on preparation of co-fermented defatted rice bran(DFRB)using Bacillus subtilis,Saccharomyces cerevisiae,Lactobacillus plantarum and phytase,the present study aimed to evaluate the effects of cofermented DFRB on growth performance,antioxidant capacity,immune status,gut microbiota and permeability in finishing pigs.Ninety finishing pigs(85.30±0.97 kg)were randomly assigned to 3treatments(3 replicates/treatment)with a basal diet(Ctrl),a basal diet supplemented with 10% unfermented DFRB(UFR),and a basal diet supplemented with 10% fermented DFRB(FR)for 30 d.Results revealed that the diet supplemented with FR notably(P<0.05)improved the average daily gain(ADG),gain to feed ratio(G:F)and the digestibility of crude protein,amino acids and dietary fiber of finishing pigs compared with UFR.Additionally,FR supplementation significantly(P<0.05)increased total antioxidant capacity,the activities of superoxide dismutase and catalase,and decreased the content of malonaldehyde in serum.Furthermore,FR remarkably(P<0.05)increased serum levels of Ig G,antiinflammatory cytokines(IL-22 and IL-23)and reduced pro-inflammatory cytokines(TNF-α,IL-1β and INF-γ).The decrease of serum diamine oxidase activity and serum D-lactate content in the FR group(P<0.05)suggested an improvement in intestinal permeability.Supplementation of FR also elevated the content of acetate and butyrate in feces(P<0.05).Moreover,FR enhanced gut microbial richness and the abundance of fiber-degrading bacteria such as Clostridium butyricum and Lactobacillus amylovorus.Correlation analyses indicated dietary fiber in FR was associated with improvements in immune status,intestinal permeability and the level of butyrate-producing microbe C.butyricum,which was also verified by the in vitro fermentation analysis.These findings provided an experimental and theoretical basis for the application of fermented DFRB in finishing pigs. | Weifa Su Zipeng Jiang Cheng Wang Yu Zhang Tao Gong Fengqin Wang Mingliang Jin Yizhen Wang Zeqing Lu | 2022 | Animal Nutrition2022,,4: | 3 |
| 8 | Conversion of mouse fibroblasts into oligodendrocyte progenitor-like cells through a chemical approach显示文摘Transplantation of oligodendrocyte progenitor cells (OPCs) is a promising way for treating demyelinating diseases. However, generation of scalable and autologous sources of OPCs has proven difficult. We previously established a chemical condition M9 that could specifically initiate neural program in mouse embryonic fibroblasts. Here we found that M9 could induce the formation of colonies that undergo mesenchymal-to-epithelial transition at the early stage of reprogramming. These colonies may represent unstable and neural lineage-restricted intermediates that have not established a neural stem cell identity. By modulating the culture signaling recapitulating the principle of OPC development, these intermediate cells could be reprogrammed towards OPC fate. The chemical-induced OPC-like cells (ciOPLCs) resemble primary neural stem cell-derived OPCs in terms of their morphology, gene expression, and the ability of self-renewal. Upon differentiation, ciOPLCs could produce functional oligodendrocytes and myelinate the neuron axons in vitro, validating their OPC identity molecularly and functionally. | 16 | Improved damage tolerance and oxidation resistance of (Ti_(0.2)Zr_(0.2)Hf_(0.2)Nb_(0.2)Ta_(0.2))B_(2)–SiC by introducing chopped carbon fibers显示文摘High-entropy diborides(HEBs)are considered as promising high-temperature structure materials owing to their high melting point and excellent thermal stability.However,the intrinsic brittleness is the main obstacle that seriously limits their practical applications.To overcome with this obstacle,carbon fibers(Cf)with outstanding mechanical properties are used in the present work as a first attempt to improve the damage tolerance of HEBs.The as-prepared C_(f)/(Ti_(0.2)Zr_(0.2)Hf_(0.2)Nb_(0.2)Ta_(0.2))B_(2)–SiC composite(C_(f)/HEB–SiC)shows high relative density(97.9%)and good mechanical properties with flexural strength of 411±3 MPa and fracture toughness of 6.15±0.11 MPa·m^(1/2).More importantly,the damage tolerance parameter(Dt)has increased from 0.10 m^(1/2) for HEB–SiC to 0.29 m^(1/2) for C_(f)/HEB–SiC.Through microstructural analysis and Vickers indentation of the composite,the toughening mechanisms are disclosed.The carbon fibers coated with carbon coatings demonstrate unique capacity for prolonging the crack propagation path,which promotes the reliability of the composite effectively.Moreover,the C_(f)/(Ti_(0.2)Zr_(0.2)Hf_(0.2)Nb_(0.2)Ta_(0.2))B_(2)–SiC composite also exhibits good static oxidation resistance in the temperature range of 1100–1500℃in air due to the formation of the protective oxide layer constituting of multicomponent oxides(Zr)HfTiO4 and(Zr)Hf_(6)Ta_(2)O_(17) embedded in a continuous SiO_(2) glass.These results are promising,and this primary work can be used as a reference to the synthesis of C_(f)/HEBs for thermal protection materials under hightemperature serving conditions. | Feilong Huang Hailong Wang Cheng Fang Mingliang Li Gang Shao Jinpeng Zhu Yanchun Zhou | 2024 | Journal of Advanced Ceramics2024,13,1: | 0 |
| 17 | Emerging organic contaminants of liquid crystal monomers:Environmental occurrence,recycling and removal technologies,toxicities and health risks显示文摘Liquid crystal monomers(LCMs)are a family of synthetic organic chemicals applied in the liquid crystal displays(LCDs)of various electric and electronic products(e-products).Due to their unique properties(i.e.,persistence,bioaccumulative potential,and toxicity)and widespread environmental distributions,LCMs have attracted increasing attention across the world.Recent studies have focused on the source,distribution,fate,and toxicity of LCMs;however,a comprehensive review is scarce.Herein,we highlighted the persistence and bioaccumulation potential of LCMs by reviewing their physical–chemical properties.The naming rules were suggested to standardize the abbreviations regarding LCMs.The sources and occurrences of LCMs in different environmental compartments,including dust,sediment,soil,leachate,air and particulate,human serum,and biota samples,were reviewed.It is concluded that the LCMs in the environment mainly originate from the usage and disassembly of eproducts with LCDs.Moreover,the review of the potential recycling and removal technologies regarding LCMs from waste LCD panels suggests that a combination of natural attenuation and physic-chemical remediation should be developed for LCMs remediations in the future.By reviewing the health risks and toxicity of LCMs,it is found that a large gap exists in their toxicity and risk to organisms.The fate and toxicity investigation of LCMs,and further investigations on the effects on the human exposure risks of LCMs to residents,especially to occupational workers,should be considered in the future. | Zhipeng Cheng Shaohan Zhang Huijun Su Haoduo Zhao Guanyong Su Mingliang Fang Lei Wang | 2023 | Eco-Environment & Health2023,2,3: | 0 |

| 20 | Surface modification of hollow capsule by Dawson-type polyoxometalate as sulfur hosts for ultralong-life lithium-sulfur batteries显示文摘Reasonable construction of sulfur host with high conductivity,large sulfur storage gap,strong chemical adsorption,and fast oxidation–reduction kinetics of polysulfide is very significant for its practical use in lithium-sulfur batteries(LSBs).In this paper,the surface modification of MIL-88A(Fe)is carried out by Dawson-type polyoxometalate(POM),and a hollow capsule shell material with P_(2)W_(18),Fe_(3)O_(4),and C components is synthesized by the subsequent carbonization process.When applied as the sulfur host,the hollow capsule shell material can efficiently improve the conductivity of sulfur electrode and restrain the volumetric change of active sulfur while charging and discharging.On this foundation,electrochemical analysis and density functional theory(DFT)calculation show that the P_(2)W_(18)on the outer layer of the capsule shell have effective electrocatalytic activity and potent chemical bond on the lithium polysulfides(LiPSs),which is helpful to block the shuttle effect.Therefore,the as-assembled LSBs display the outstanding specific capacity and prominent cycle stability.Specifically,it delivers an excellent reversible capacity of 1063 mAh/g after 100 cycles of charge–discharge at a rate of 0.5 C,accounting for a preservation by 96%in comparison to that of the initial cycle.Moreover,even after 2000 cycles at 1 C,the reversible specific capacity of 585 mAh/g can still be maintained with an average decay rate of only 0.021%. | Mingliang Wang Di Yin Yundong Cao Xinyang Dong Guanggang Gao Xun Hu Cheng Jin Linlin Fan Jian Yu Hong Liu | 2022 | Chinese Chemical Letters2022,33,9: | 0 |
