| 8 | Using lithium isotopes to quantitatively decode continental weathering signal:A case study in the Changjiang(Yangtze River)Estuary显示文摘As the key link connecting the earth’s spheres,continental weathering plays an important role in regulating the global biogeochemical cycle and long-term climate change.Siliciclastic sediments derived from large river basins can record continental weathering and erosion signals,and are thus widely used to investigate weathering processes.However,sediment grain size,hydrodynamic sorting and sedimentary recycling complicate the interpretation of sediment weathering proxies.This study presents elemental and lithium isotope compositions of estuarine surface sediments(SS)and suspended particulate matters(SPM)collected from the Changjiang(Yangtze River)Estuary.Based on a simple mass balance model,the proportions of different end-members(i.e.,igneous rocks,modern weathering products and inherited weathering products)in sediments were quantitatively calculated and thus the silicate weathering process can be estimated.Overall,the sediments in the Changjiang Estuary are mainly eroded from un-weathered rock fragments(>60%),while modern weathering products account for less than 40%.The fine-grained SPM contain more shale components(52–66%),and the modern weathering products account for 21–40%.Comparatively,the coarse-grained surface sediments contain more un-weathered igneous rock fragments(63–84%)and less modern weathering products(only 4–18%).The comparison ofδ^(7)Li values with the weathering proxy(Chemical Index of Alteration,CIA)suggests that sediment weathering intensity declines with increasing proportion of un-weathered igneous rock fragments.Additionally,the occurrence of inherited weathering products(i.e.,shale)in modern sediments makes it a challenge to simply use CIA andδ^(7)Li as indicators of weathering intensity.This study confirms that fine-grained particles are more suitable for tracing contemporary weathering process,albeit with the influence of sedimentary recycling.Lithium isotopes combining with the mass balance model can quantitatively constrain the continental weathering processes in large river basins. | Fang CAO Shouye YANG Chengfan YANG Yulong GUO Lei BI Yuze LI | 2021 | Science China Earth Sciences2021,64,10: | 0 |
| 9 | LF-CNN:Deep Learning-Guided Small Sample Target Detection for Remote Sensing Classification显示文摘Target detection of small samples with a complex background is always difficult in the classification of remote sensing images.We propose a new small sample target detection method combining local features and a convolutional neural network(LF-CNN)with the aim of detecting small numbers of unevenly distributed ground object targets in remote sensing images.The k-nearest neighbor method is used to construct the local neighborhood of each point and the local neighborhoods of the features are extracted one by one from the convolution layer.All the local features are aggregated by maximum pooling to obtain global feature representation.The classification probability of each category is then calculated and classified using the scaled expected linear units function and the full connection layer.The experimental results show that the proposed LF-CNN method has a high accuracy of target detection and classification for hyperspectral imager remote sensing data under the condition of small samples.Despite drawbacks in both time and complexity,the proposed LF-CNN method can more effectively integrate the local features of ground object samples and improve the accuracy of target identification and detection in small samples of remote sensing images than traditional target detection methods. | Chengfan Li Lan Liu Junjuan Zhao Xuefeng Liu | 2022 | Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences2022,,4: | 0 |

| 11 | Effect of Flotation Reagents on the Cake Moisture of Copper Concentrate显示文摘The effect of reagents used in separating chalcopyrite from pyrite on the cake moisture of the copper concentrate at Daye Iron Mine Mineral Processing Plant was investigated. The results showed that the dosage of lime used for depressing pyrite was the main factor that increased the filter cake moisture of copper concentrate. With increasing the dosage of lime, the cake moisture of copper concentrate increased sharply. The cause was concluded to be the addition of lime to the pulp, which resulted in the formation of floc and a high pH value. The collector Z-200#, used for collecting chalcopyrite, had, as well, an adverse effect on the cake moisture of copper concentrate, but its effect was inferior in respect to that of lime. The cake moisture of copper concentrate can be decreased by changing the method with which lime is added and the pH value of pulp is regulated. The experiment results showed that the sulfuric acid was the best regulator. When the clarified liquor of lime was used as a depressant and the pH value of the pulp was regulated to 6.5€*7.0 by adding sulfuric acid, the cake moisture of copper concentrate was reduced from 15.49% to 13.13%. The examination of chalcopyrite surface by using ESCA (Electron Spectroscopy for Chemical Analysis) showed that calcium sulfate and iron hydroxide had formed on the surface of chalcopyrite when lime was added to the pulp. The formation of calcium sulfate and iron hydroxide on its surface increased the hydrophilicity of chalcopyrite so that its cake moisture increased.
