2Insight into the catalytic activity of MXenes for hydrogen evolution reaction显示文摘MXenes have exhibited great potential as cost-effective electrocatalysts for hydrogen evolution reaction(HER). However, insight into the origin of activity is still missing. Herein, on the basis of a systematical investigation of the HER performance of 20 MXenes(M_2NO_2 and M_2CO_2, M = Sc, Ti, V, Cr, Zr, Nb, Mo,Hf, Ta and W), a Fermi-abundance model is proposed to understand variation of the activity in different MXenes. It is found that the occupied p electronic states of surface O atoms play a decisive role in the HER activity of MXenes. More importantly, Ti_2NO_2 and Nb_2NO_2 are found to be promising HER electrocatalysts with the free energy for hydrogen adsorption close to zero. 3Aquatic Species Dominate Organic Matter in Qinghai Lake during the Holocene:Evidence from Eolian Deposits around the Lake显示文摘Total organic carbon(TOC) in lake sediments and its stable carbon isotope(δ^(13)C_(org)) are widely applied to investigate paleoenvironmental changes even though their implications are complicated and multi-explanatory. Organic geochemistry studies of lake sediments from Qinghai Lake have been investigated, but some interpretations are controversial. In this study, TOC of one Holocene eolian section and δ^(13)C_(org) of three eolian sections were studied around Qinghai Lake. Results indicate that the TOC content in eolian deposits was low during the Early Holocene, and gradually increased to high values during the Middle and Late Holocene. The variation in TOC content of eolian deposits is different from that in the lacustrine sequence from Qinghai Lake during the Holocene. The δ^(13)C_(org) values in the eolian sections were relatively stable, with oscillation amplitudes of ~4‰(ranging from-25.8‰ to-22.1‰), in contrast to ~10‰ variation s in δ^(13)C_(org) values(varying from-30‰ to-20‰) in lacustrine sediments. Through comparison of TOC and δ^(13)C_(org) values between eolian deposits and lacustrine sediments, we can confirm indications that the organic matter in Qinghai Lake sediments during the Holocene was primarily a contribution of the aquatic species in the lake. 5Crystal phase-controlled growth of PtCu and PtCo alloys on 4H Au nanoribbons for electrocatalytic ethanol oxidation reaction显示文摘Crystal phase can greatly affect the physicochemical properties and applications of nanomaterials.However,it stil remains a great challenge to synthesize nanostructures with the same composition and morphology but different phases in order to explore the phase-dependent properties and applications.Herein,we report the crystal phase-controlled synthesis of PtCu alloy shells on 4H Au nanoribbons(NRBs),referred to as 4H-Au NRBs,to form the 4H-Au@PtCu core-shell NRBs.By tuning the thickness of PtCu,4H-PtCu and face-centered cubic(cc)phase PICu(cc-PtCu)alloy shells are successtully grown on the 4H-Au NRB cores.This thickness-dependent phase-controlled growth strategy can also be used to grow PtCo alloys with 4H or fcc phase on 4H-Au NRBs.Significantly,when used as electrocatalysts for the ethanol oxidation reaction(EOR)in alkaline media,the 4H-Au@4H-PtCu NRBs show much better EOR performance than the 4H-Au@fcc-PtCu NRBs,and both of them possess superior performance compared to the commercial Pt black.Our study provides a strategy on phase-contolled synthesis of nanomaterials used for crystal phase-dependent applications.Jie Wang Jian Zhang Guigao Liu Chongyi Ling Bo Chen Jingtao Huang Xiaozhi Liu Bing Li An-Liang Wang Zhaoning Hu Ming Zhou Ye Chen Hongfei Cheng Jiawei Liu Zhanxi Fan Nailiang Yang Chaoliang Tan Lin Gu Jinlan Wang Hua Zhang 2020Nano Research2020,13,7:2
6Effects of Root Zone Temperature on Growth and Photosynthetic Parameters of Grafted Cucumber显示文摘Taking Cucurbita maxima and Cucurbita moschata as root stocks,and‘Jinyou No 3'cucumber as scion,the effects of different root zone temperature conditions optimal temperature( CK)( 18-20 ℃),suboptimal temperature( 13-15 ℃) and low temperature( 8-10 ℃) on the growth and photosynthesis indexes were studied. The results showed that,compared with optimal temperature( CK),suboptimal temperature and low temperature produced a significant inhibition of growth on cucumbers. The plant height,stem diameter,leaf area,number of leaves and dry weight of aboveground part were all reduced,dry weight of underground part and root shoot ratio all increased,while the inhibition was more significant at low temperature. Low and suboptimal temperature conditions also reduced SPAD value,net photosynthetic rate,transpiration rate,intercellular CO_2 concentration and stomatal conductance of the grafted cucumber. 7EFFECTS OF MOLECULAR WEIGHT ON THERMAL RESPONSIVE PROPERTY OF PEGYLATED POLY-L-GLUTAMATES显示文摘We investigated the ring opening polymerization (ROP) of di- and tri-ethylene glycol monomethyl ether functionalized L-glutamate N-carboxyanhydrides (NCAs) using hexamethyldisilazane (HMDS) as primary initiator and 1,5,7-triazabicyclo-[4.4.0]dec-5-ene (TBD) as co-initiator. The binary initiator system afforded a living ROP for these pegylated NCAs, and a series of homopolypeptides with controlled molecular weight (MW) and low polydispersity were obtained. We then systematically studied the helical content and clouding point (CP) dependence on polypeptide MW using circular dichroism (CD) spectroscopy and turbidity measurements, respectively. We found that the helical content of both homopolypeptides increased with MW, but the triethylene glycol functionalized poly-L-glutamate (poly-L-EG3Glu) intended to form more stable α-helical structure than diethylene glycol functionalized counterpart (poly-L-EG2Glu) at similar MW. Accordingly, the CP of poly-L-EG2 Glu with known end group has strong dependence on its helical content, which is essentially determined by MW. 13Reconstruction of cultivated land during mJid- Holocene in the middle and lower reaches of Yellow River and human impact on vegetations显示文摘Yangshao culture is the most important mid-Holocene Neolithic culture in the Yellow River catchment,and thus,a study on the impact of human activities on the environment is important.In the current study,the distribution pattern of the cultivated land in late Yangshao culture is reconstructed using GIS tool and site domain analysis(SDA).The results show that the cultivated land during 5.5-5.0 ka BP was mainly distributed in the Weihe River valley,Luohe River valley,northwestern Henan Plain,Fenhe River valley and eastern Gansu region,especially concentrated in the Xi'an-Baoji line of the Weihe River valley.At that time,at least 37,000 km 2 of lands were reclaimed in the middle and lower reaches of the Yellow River,and 132,000 km 2 of lands were affected by agricultural activities.Human activities had become the driving force of land use/land coverage.Charcoal records indicate that the ancestors of Yangshao culture burnt forests for reclamation,leading to the decrease of arbor pollen at 5 ka BP in core areas of the Yangshao culture.The areas that were significantly affected by human activities accounted for 3.2% of the Yangshao culture influenced area,while the moderately affected areas accounted for 20.1% of Yangshao culture influenced area.Meanwhile,92% of the land areas on the edge and outside of the Yangshao culture influenced area were not affected by human activities.The arbor pollen in these areas did not decrease until 4.0 ka BP.HOU Guangliang LAI Zhongping XIAO Jingyi E Chongyi 2012Journal of Geographical Sciences2012,22,5:1

16Nighttime image dehazing using color cast removal and dual path multi-scale fusion strategy显示文摘Nighttime image dehazing aims to remove the effect of haze on the images captured in nighttime,which however,raises new challenges such as severe color distortion,more complex lighting conditions,and lower contrast.Instead of estimating the transmission map and atmospheric light that are difficult to be accurately acquired in nighttime,we propose a nighttime image dehazing method composed of a color cast removal and a dual path multi-scale fusion algorithm.We first propose a human visual system(HVS)inspired color correction model,which is effective for removing the color deviation on nighttime hazy images.Then,we propose to use dual path strategy that includes an underexposure and a contrast enhancement path for multi-scale fusion,where the weight maps are achieved by selecting appropriate exposed areas under Gaussian pyramids.Extensive experiments demonstrate that the visual effect of the hazy nighttime images in real-world datasets can be significantly improved by our method regarding contrast,color fidelity,and visibility.In addition,our method outperforms the state-of-the-art methods qualitatively and quantitatively.Bo Wang Li Hu Bowen Wei Zitong Kang Chongyi Li 2022Frontiers of Computer Science2022,16,4:1

18Barriers and facilitators in Pre-exposure Prophylaxis(PrEP)use intention among Chinese homosexual men显示文摘Background:Despite strengthened efforts on human immunodeficiency virus(HIV)prevention and control,new HIV infections continue to increase among men who have sex with men(MSM)in China.Pre-exposure prophylaxis(PrEP),a highly effective HIV-prevention tool,has recently been included in China’s Action Plan of HIV Prevention and Control.To promote future PrEP implementation,this study aims to identify the barriers and facilitators in PrEP use intention among MSM in China.Methods:In 2018,a cross-sectional survey was conducted among 300 MSM in Nanjing,Jiangsu Province.Questions on demographics,sexual behavior(including a seven-item high-risk behavior index),PrEP use intention,PrEP-related awareness and accessibility,and a seven-item public HIV stigma scale were included in the questionnaire.Bivariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses were conducted to identify factors associated with PrEP use intention.Results:Overall,44.67%of the participants had more than two male sexual partners and 5.56%had HIV-positive sexual partners.Only 57.00%had heard of PrEP and only four(1.33%)participants had used PrEP.However,75.34%expressed the willingness to use oral PrEP if its efficacy was assured.The beliefs that“PrEP can prevent HIV if taken as prescribed”(adjusted odds ratio(AOR)=4.84,P<0.001)and“PrEP can be scaled up in the community”(AOR=3.24,P<0.001)were positively associated with oral PrEP use intention.Concerns of side effects were negatively associated with oral PrEP use intention(AOR=0.32,P=0.006).Further,77.00%of the participants would choose injectable or implanted PrEP instead of oral PrEP.One of the PrEP stigma items,“Not certain if doctors can prescribe PrEP if I go to the clinic”was positively associated with the intention to use injectable or implanted PrEP(AOR=3.03).The items“Heard of PrEP”(AOR=2.74)and“PrEP can prevent HIV if taken as prescribed”(AOR=2.65)were also positively related to the intention to use injectable or implanted PrEP.The most common concerns regarding PrEP use were efficacy(44.67%)and side effects(38.67%).The most common reasons for using injectable and implanted PrEP were adherence(81.94%and 77.86%,respectively)and privacy concerns(56.48%and 55.00%,respectively).Affordable price and coverage by health insurance were the driving factors for PrEP use.Conclusion:Given the low level of awareness of PrEP-related information in China,it’s necessary to provide interventions for high-risk individuals and communities,in order to increase their awareness and knowledge of PrEP.Furthermore,additional alternatives to HIV prevention,such as long-acting injectable or implanted PrEP,should be investigated to reduce the risk of HIV infection in at-risk MSM.Even if this programme could be approved by the National Medical Products Administration of China and implemented,a supportive social environment for MSM is essential during its implementing.Mingyu Si Xiaoyou Su Li Yan Yu Jiang Yuanli Liu Chongyi Wei Hongjing Yan 2020Global Health Journal2020,4,3:1
