Numerical Analysis of Welding Residual Stress and Distortion in Laser+GMAW Hybrid Welding of Aluminum Alloy T-Joint显示文摘A 3-D finite element model is developed to predict the temperature field and thermally induced residual stress and distortion in laser+GMAW hybrid welding of 6061-T6 aluminum alloy T-joint. And the characteristics of residual stress distribution and deformation are numerically investigated. In the simulation, the heat source model takes into account the effect of joint geometric shape and welding torch slant on the heat flux distribution and a sequentially coupled thermo-mechanical method is used. The calculated results show that higher residual stress is distributed in and surround the weld zone. Its peak value is very close to the yield strength of base metal. Besides, a large deformation appears in the middle and rear part of the weldment.Guoxiang XU Chuansong WU Xuezhou MA Xuyou WANG 2013Acta Metallurgica Sinica(English Letters)2013,26,3:10
Nutrient composition and distributions in coastal waters impacted by the Changjiang plume显示文摘Four cruises were conducted during 2002-2003 in the Changjiang Estuary and adjacent coastal areas. The data presented show a clear coast to open sea gradient in nutrients related to the river inputs. Maximum values of chlorophyll a were typically observed at intermediate salinities at surface water and coincided with non-conservative decreases in nutrients along the salinity gradient, indicating that removal of nutrients was related to phytoplankton uptake. The seasonal variations of nutrient concentrations were just opposite to those of chlorophyll a,indicating that the seasonal variations of nutrients were mainly controlled by phytoplankton uptake, whereas riverine inputs merely weakened or balanced its extent. During the estuarine mixing, phosphate demonstrated some remobilization during all the four cruises; whereas both conservative and non-conservative behaviors for dissolved inorganic nitrogen and silicate were observed in the study area, indicating that both biotic and abiotic events may affect their behaviors during the estuarine mixing. Under the influence of freshwater inputs with high value of ratio of nitrogen to phosphorus, the estuarine and coastal waters impacted by the Changjiang plume were high (>30) in ratio of nitrogen to phosphorus, but rates of primary production were apparently not constrained by any kind of nutrient elements. However, the low (<1) ratio of silicate to nitrogen in most of the study area might be linked with the rapidly increasing frequency of harmful algal bloom(HAB) incidents in recent years in the coastal waters impacted by the Changjiang plume.WANG Xiulin WANG Baodong ZHANG Chuansong SHI Xiaoyong ZHU Chenjian XIE Linping HAN Xiurong XIN Yu WANG Jiangtao 2008Acta Oceanologica Sinica2008,27,5:7
Seasonal Changes in Phytoplankton Biomass and Dominant Species in the Changjiang River Estuary and Adjacent Seas:General Trends Based on Field Survey Data 1959-2009显示文摘The characteristics of seasonal variation in phytoplankton biomass and dominant species in the Changjiang River Estuary and adjacent seas were discussed based on field investigation data from 1959 to 2009. The field data from 1981 to 2004 showed that the Chlorophyll-a concentration in surface seawater was between 0.4 and 8.5 μg dm-3. The seasonal changes generally presented a bimodal trend, with the biomass peaks occurring in May and August, and Chlorophyll-a concentration was the lowest in winter. Seasonal biomass changes were mainly controlled by temperature and nutrient levels. From the end of autumn to the next early spring, phytoplankton biomass was mainly influenced by temperature, and in other seasons, nutrient level(including the nutrient supply from the terrestrial runoffs) was the major influence factor. Field investigation data from 1959 to 2009 demonstrated that diatoms were the main phytoplankton in this area, and Skeletonema costatum, Pseudo-nitzschia pungens, Coscinodiscus oculus-iridis, Thalassinoema nitzschioides, Paralia sulcata, Chaetoceros lorenzianus, Chaetoceros curvisetus, and Prorocentrum donghaiense Lu were common dominant species. The seasonal variations in major dominant phytoplankton species presented the following trends: 1) Skeletonema(mainly S. costatum) was dominant throughout the year; and 2) seasonal succession trends were Coscinodiscus(spring) →Chaetoceros(summer and autumn) → Coscinodiscus(winter). The annual dominance of S. costatum was attributed to its environmental eurytopicity and long standing time in surface waters. The seasonal succession of Coscinodiscus and Chaetoceros was associated with the seasonal variation in water stability and nutrient level in this area. On the other hand, long-term field data also indicated obvious interannual variation of phytoplankton biomass and community structure in the Changjiang River Estuary and adjacent seas: average annual phytoplankton biomass and dinoflagellate proportion both presented increased trends during the 1950 s-2000 s.YANG Shu HAN Xiurong ZHANG Chuansong SUN Baiye WANG Xiulin SHI Xiaoyong 2014Journal of Ocean University of China2014,13,6:7
Assessing the dynamics of chromophoric dissolved organic matter(CDOM) in the Yellow Sea and the East China Sea in autumn by EEMs-PARAFAC显示文摘In this study we have successfully characterized the fluorescent components of chromophoric dissolved organic matter(CDOM) in the Yellow Sea and the East China Sea in autumn using excitation-emission matrix fluorescence spectroscopy(EEMs) combined with parallel factor analysis(PARAFAC).PARAFAC aids the characterization of fluorescence CDOM by decomposing the fluorescence matrices into individual components.Four humic-like components(C1,C2,C3,and C4),one marine biological production component(C6),and two protein-like components(C5 and C7) were identified by PARAFAC.We researched the distributional patterns of fluorescence intensity, regression analyses between salinity, chlorophyll a concentration and fluorescence intensities of individual fluorophore, and regression analysis between salinity and fluorescence intensities percent of individual fluorophore. The results revealed that C2 and C4 showed conservative mixing behavior, while C1 and C3 possessed conservative mixing behavior in high salinity region and additional behavior in low and middle salinity region, which were considered to be derived from riverine and degradation of organic matter from resuspended and/or sinking particles and show non-conservative mixing behavior. In addition to riverine sources, the tryptophan-like C5 may receive widespread addition(likely from photo-degradation or biodegradation),while the most likely sources for the one marine humic-like C6 and tyrosine-like C7 were biological activity and microbial processing of plankton-derived CDOM,which were suggested to be of autochthonous origin and biologically labile. The application of EEM-PARAFAC modeling presents a unique opportunity to observe compositional changes, different mixing behavior and temporal variability in CDOM in the Yellow Sea and the East China Sea.YAN LiHong SU RongGuo ZHANG ChuanSong SHI XiaoYong ZHU ChenJian 2012Science China Chemistry2012,55,12:6
The Significance of Crust Structure and Continental Dynamics Inferred from Receiver Functions in West Yunnan显示文摘In our study we collected the teleseismic record of 31 broadband stations and 9 PASSCAL stations in West Yunnan, as well as extracted more than a million receiver functions. Using the waveform model and stacking techniques, we calculated the earth crust thicknesses and Vp/Vs ratios below the stations and obtained 35 valid data points. At the same time, we evenly stacked the receiver functions at the same station and superimposed the two profiles' cross sections of the main tectonic units. The results show a clear difference between the crust thicknesses of different tectonic units. Because of the magma underplatting and delimanition of the lower crust in the role of deep process, the West Yunnan's crust can be divided two kinds-mafic-ultramafic and feldspathic crusts. The research also shows that the mafic-ultramafic crust corresponds to a good background of mineralization. The delamination of the lower crust is one of the leading causes for moderate to strong earthquake prone in central Yunnan. The thinner crust and high velocity ratio as well as the multimodal structure of Ps in the Tengchong volcanic area confirms existence of a deep process of the strong magma underplating. Due to the basic crust structure and nature, it is believed that the Honghe fault is a main suture of the Gondwana and Eurasia continents.HE Chuansong ZHU Lupei WANG Qingcai 2009Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2009,83,6:5

Three-Dimensional Reconstruction of Welding Pool Surface by Binocular Vision显示文摘Current research of binocular vision systems mainly need to resolve the camera’s intrinsic parameters before the reconstruction of three-dimensional(3D)objects.The classical Zhang’calibration is hardly to calculate all errors caused by perspective distortion and lens distortion. Also, the image-matching algorithm of the binocular vision system still needs to be improved to accelerate the reconstruction speed of welding pool surfaces. In this paper,a preset coordinate system was utilized for camera calibration instead of Zhang’calibration. The binocular vision system was modified to capture images of welding pool surfaces by suppressing the strong arc interference during gas metal arc welding.Combining and improving the algorithms of speeded up robust features, binary robust invariant scalable keypoints, and KAZE,the feature information of points(i.e.,RGB values, pixel coordinates)was extracted as the feature vector of the welding pool surface.Based on the characteristics of the welding images,a mismatch-elimination algorithm was developed to increase the accuracy of image-matching algorithms. The world coordinates of matching feature points were calculated to reconstruct the 3D shape of the welding pool surface. The effectiveness and accuracy of the reconstruction of welding pool surfaces were verified by experimental results. This research proposes the development of binocular vision algorithms that can reconstruct the surface of welding pools accurately to realize intelligent welding control systems in the future.Zunan Gu Ji Chen Chuansong Wu 2021Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2021,34,3:4

Genomic characterizations of H4 subtype avian influenza viruses from live poultry markets in Sichuan province of China, 2014–2015显示文摘Dear Editor,Avian influenza viruses (AIVs) have posed a serious threat to poultry production and public health. To date, more than fourteen AIV subtypes that are able to infect human beings have been documented. Also, it is suggested that new subtypes may be reported in the future, owing to the migration of wild birds and live poultry transportation (Gao, 2018).Poultry may act as a potential incubator for novel subtypes of avian influenza virus (Bi et al., 2016a; Bi et al., 2016b; Liu et al., 2014a; Su et al., 2017). Up to date, the H7N9 AIV emerged in February 2013 has caused 1,567 human cases, with a fatality rate of 39.2%(http://gffzz36b398b81f8a4a4chw9w6pcbvo0kv6v90.ffgz.tsg.suse.edu.cn/influenza/Chuansong Quan Ting Huang Xiuwei Chen Jie Zhang Qianli Wang Cheng Zhang Tiyan Zhang Lijun Zhou Liumei Shu Chunrong Long Lei Yang Xunbo Du Yingze Zhao Peipei Liu Hao Song Weifeng Shi Yuhai Bi Qiang Lv William J.Liu George F.Gao 2018Science China(Life Sciences)2018,61,9:4
Investigation of seasonal variability of CDOM fluorescence in the southern Changjiang River Estuary by EEM-PARAFAC显示文摘The southern Changjiang River Estuary has attracted considerable attention from marine scientists because it is a highly biologically active area and is biogeochemically significant.Moreover,land-ocean interactions strongly impact the estuary, and harmful algal blooms(HABs) frequently occur in the area.In October 2010 and May 2011,water samples of chromophoric dissolved organic matter(CDOM) were collected from the southern Changjiang River Estuary.Parallel factor analysis(PARAFAC) was used to assess the samples' CDOM composition using excitation-emission matrix(EEM) spectroscopy.Four components were identified:three were humic-like(C1,C2 and C3) and one was protein-like(C4).Analysis based on spatial and seasonal distributions,as well as relationships with salinity,Chl a and apparent oxygen utilization(AOU),revealed that terrestrial inputs had the most significant effect on the three humic-like Components C1,C2 and C3 in autumn. In spring, microbial processes and phytoplankton blooms were also important factors that impacted the three components. The protein-like Component C4 had autochthonous and allochthonous origins and likely represented a biologically labile component.CDOM in the southern Changjiang River Estuary was mostly affected by terrestrial inputs.Microbial processes and phytoplankton blooms were also important sources of CDOM,especially in spring. The fluorescence intensities of the four components were significantly higher in spring than in autumn. On average,C1,C2,C3,C4 and the total fluorescence intensity(TFI) in the surface, middle and bottom layers increased by123%–242%,105%–195%,167%–665%,483%–567% and 184%–245% in spring than in autumn, respectively. This finding corresponded with a Chl a concentration that was 16–20 times higher in spring than in autumn and an AOU that was two to four times lower in spring than in autumn. The humification index(HIX) was lower in spring that in autumn, and the fluorescence index(FI) was higher in spring than in autumn. This result indicated that the CDOM was labile and the biological activity was intense in spring.BAI Ying SU Rongguo HAN Xiurong ZHANG Chuansong SHI Xiaoyong 2015Acta Oceanologica Sinica2015,34,10:3
Review: Progress and Trends in Ultrasonic Vibration Assisted Friction Stir Welding显示文摘This paper aims to reviewthe state-of-the-art of ultrasonic vibration assisted friction stir welding(UVAFSW) process. Particular attention has been paid on the modes of ultrasonic exertion, experimental results and effects of ultrasonic vibrations on process effectiveness and joint quality. The trends of various aspects with and without ultrasonic vibrations in FSW process are studied and presented. The influence of ultrasonic vibrations on welding loads, temperature history, weld morphology, material flow, weld microstructure and mechanical properties are revisited. Ultrasonic assisted FSW offers numerous advantages over the conventional FSW process. The superimposing of high-frequency vibrations improves various phenomena of the process and the physical, metallurgical, mechanical and tribological properties of the welded joint. The ultrasonic assisted FSW process has a potential to benefit the industry sector. 13Mechanism of Metal Transfer in DE-GMAW显示文摘Modification of conventional gas metal arc welding (GMAW) process is of great potential to achieve high productivity with low cost and strong usability. Double-Electrode GMAW (DE-GMAW) is such a modified arc welding process which is formed by adding a bypass torch (gas tungsten arc welding torch) to a conventional GMAW system. The mechanism of metal transfer in DE-GMAW was proposed and verified in this paper. Experiments show that the critical current is decreased so that spray transfer can be obtained at a lower current level in DE-GMAW. Analysis of this significant change in metal transfer phenomena is conducted, and explanation is given out. It is found that the bypass arc in DE-GMAW lifts the anode point on the droplets such that the electromagnetic force becomes larger and squeezes the droplets so that spray transfer can take place under welding current lower than that in conventional GMAW.Kehai Li Chuansong Wu 2009Journal of Materials Science & Technology2009,25,3:3
Metabolomics-centered mining of plant metabolic diversity and function:Past decade and future perspectives显示文摘Plants are natural experts in organic synthesis, being able to generate large numbers of specific metabolites with widely varying structures that help them adapt to variable survival challenges.Metabolomics is a research discipline that integrates the capabilities of several types of research including analytical chemistry, statistics, and biochemistry. Its ongoing development provides strategies for gaining a systematic understanding of quantitative changes in the levels of metabolites.Metabolomics is usually performed by targeting either a specific cell,a specific tissue,or the entire organism.Considerable advances in science and technology over the last three decades have propelled us into the era of multi-omics,in which metabolomics, despite at an earlier developmental stage than genomics, transcriptomics, and proteomics, offers the distinct advantage of studying the cellular entities that have the greatest influence on end phenotype. Here,we summarize the state of the art of metabolite detection and identification, and illustrate these techniques with four case study applications:(i)comparing metabolite composition within and between species,(ii)assessing spatio-temporal metabolic changes during plant development,(iii)mining characteristic metabolites of plants in different ecological environments and upon exposure to various stresses, and(iv)assessing the performance of metabolomics as a means of functional gene identification, metabolic pathway elucidation, and metabolomics-assisted breeding through analyzing plant populations with diverse genetic variations. In addition,we highlight the prominent contributions of joint analyses of plant metabolomics and other omics datasets, including those from genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, epigenomics, phenomics, microbiomes, and ion-omics studies. Finally,we discuss future directions and challenges exploiting metabolomics-centered approaches in understanding plant metabolic diversity.Shuangqian Shen Chuansong Zhan Chenkun Yang Alisdair R.Fernie Jie Luo 2023Molecular Plant2023,16,1:2
OsRLCK160 contributes to flavonoid accumulation and UV-B tolerance by regulating OsbZIP48 in rice显示文摘Plants produce specialized metabolites to adapt to the ever-changing environments.Flavonoids are antioxidants essential for growth, development, and breeding with increased stress resistance in crops. However, the mechanism of the involvement of flavonoids in ultraviolet-B(UV-B)stress in rice(Oryza sativa)is largely unknown. In this study,we cloned and functionally identified a receptor-like kinase(OsRLCK160)and a bZIP transcription factor(OsbZIP48)positively regulating flavonoid accumulation through metabolite-based genome-wide association study of the flavonoid content in rice.Meanwhile,OsRLCK160 interacted with and phosphorylated OsbZIP48 to regulate the flavonoid accumulation and participate in UV-B tolerance in rice. Our study indicates the importance of applying OsRLCK160 and OsbZIP48 to advance the fundamental understanding of stable rice production and breed UV-B-tolerant rice varieties, which may contribute to breeding high-yield rice varieties.Feng Zhang Jiacheng Huang Hao Guo Chenkun Yang Yufei Li Shuangqian Shen Chuansong Zhan Lianghuan Qu Xianqing Liu Shouchuang Wang Wei Chen Jie Luo 2022Science China(Life Sciences)2022,65,7:2
Seismic Technique for Studying Sedimentary Layer: Bohai Basin as an Example显示文摘The upper tertiary to quaternary is the main target layer for oil and gas exploitation in China's Mainland, especially crude oil production in the Bohai Basin accounts for approximately 40% of China's crude oil production. Therefore, a study of the Upper Tertiary to Quaternary has important significance for science and practical applications. In this study, using the receiver function method, Ps and later phase extraction, the sedimentary thickness and an accurate estimate of velocity ratio can be obtained. The technique is simple, its calculation results are unique, and it can be applied to a study of the sedimentary layer. 18Numerical Simulation for the Optimization of Polygonal Pin Profiles in Friction Stir Welding of Aluminum显示文摘The tool with polygonal pin profile has been widely employed in friction stir welding(FSW) of aluminum, but there is hardly an effective optimization methodology existed as the thermomechanical characteristics affected by pins with various flats number have not been understood comprehensively. Therefore, the present work employs a 3-dimensional computational fluid dynamics(CFD) model to have an integrated observation of the FSW process with the effect of polygonal pin profiles. Both the heat generation modes due to contact friction at the tool–workpiece interface and volumetric viscous dissipation in the vicinity of the tool are considered. The model is utilized to give a quantitative analysis of the heat generation, temperature distribution, plastic material flow and welding loads during the FSW process for various tools with polygonal pin profiles, as well as a variety of shoulder diameters, welding speeds and tool rotation speeds. The calculated results of thermal cycles, tool torques and joint cross sections for some typical polygonal pins and welding parameters are all found to be compared well with the experimental ones, which demonstrates the feasibility and applicability of the present numerical model. Particularly, a methodology is developed for the optimization of the flats number by identifying the torque components in both parallel and vertical direction of the pin-side flat region. The results show that the optimized pin flats number increases with increasing tool rotation speed, while the influence of both welding speed and shoulder diameter can be supposed to be insignificant. Moreover, the dependability of the optimized results is also discussed by considering wear tendency and service life of the pin for multiple welding conditions.Hao Su Chuansong Wu 2021Acta Metallurgica Sinica(English Letters)2021,34,8:2
Evolution of microstructures and intermetallic compounds at bonding interface in friction stir welding of dissimilar Al/Mg alloys with/without ultrasonic assistance显示文摘Complete understanding of the evolution behaviors of the microstructures and intermetallic compounds(IMCs)along the interface materials flow path in friction stir welding(FSW)of dissimilar Al to Mg alloys is of great significance. In this study, conventional FSW and ultrasonic vibration enhanced FSW(UVeFSW)experiments of Al/Mg alloys were performed, and the instantaneous evolution features of the interface materials around the tool were'frozen'by using the'sudden stop'and simultaneous cooling techniques. The microstructures and IMCs formation at different locations around the exit hole were observed and characterized by scanning electron microscope, energy dispersive spectrometer and transmission elec-tron microscope. It was found that before the materials started to deposit near the back of the tool,“IMC+Mg+IMC+Al”multilayer microstructure and simple IMC layer with(β+γ)sequentially emerged on the Al/Mg interface. With the application of ultrasonic vibration, the multi-layered interface structure only appeared at the middle stage of materials flow around the pin,and ultrasonic vibration just began to play a suppression role on the growth of two sub-layers IMC at a position where the materials deposit. With assistance of ultrasonic vibration in UVeFSW,the tool drove a larger volume of Mg alloy to move toward the retreating side, and the final IMCs thickness was thinner than that in FSW.Junjie Zhao ChuanSong Wu Lei Shi Hao Su 2023Journal of Materials Science & Technology2023,,8:2
Temporal and spatial distribution of dissolved copper, lead, zinc and cadmium in the Changjiang Estuary and its adjacent waters显示文摘Heavy metal concentrations were measured in the Changjiang Estuary and its adjacent waters. Results from a systematic survey in April 2002 to March 2003 indicate that the ranges of the concentrations of dissolved copper, lead, zinc and cadmium in the study waters are 1.01~6.86,0.10~0.39,3.17~9.12 and 0.011~0.049 μg/dm3,respectively.Similar to zinc, the behavior of dissolved copper was essentially conservative, but high scatter has been observed for high salinity samples, which can be attributed to the decomposition or mineralization of organic matter by bacteria.Dissolved lead may have active behavior with an addition at high salinity.Overall concentrations of dissolved cadmium increase with salinity. The mean values of these dissolved metals calculated for the surface waters were higher than those for the middle and bottom ones.External inputs of dissolved heavy metals to the surface waters were the likely explanation for these higher values. The maximum seasonal average values of dissolved copper and zinc were found in summer, reflecting higher amounts of riverine input in this season. In contrast, the maximum seasonal average values of dissolved lead and copper were found in winter and the lowest ones in summer, respectively, which might be associated with a combination of low concentration with heterogeneous scavenging.Concentrations of these dissolved metals found for the Changjiang Estuary fall in the range observed for the other estuaries but are noticeably higher than those from uncontaminated rivers, except for cadmium.Compared with observations for the Changjiang Estuary in the last two decades,it is clear that the Changjiang estuarine waters has been contaminated with copper, lead, zinc and cadmium during China's industrialization, but concentrations of them have decreased in the last few years.WANG Changyou WANG Xiulin WANG Baodong ZHANG Chuansong SHI Xiaoyong ZHU Chenjian 2008Acta Oceanologica Sinica2008,27,4:2
