1Human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells for psoriasis:a phase 1/2a,single-arm study显示文摘Psoriasis is a common,chronic immune-mediated systemic disease that had no effective and durable treatment.Mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs)have immunomodulatory properties.Therefore,we performed a phase 1/2a,single-arm clinical trial to evaluate the safety and efficacy of human umbilical cord-derived MSCs(UMSCs)in the treatment of psoriasis and to preliminarily explore the possible mechanisms.Seventeen patients with psoriasis were enrolled and received UMsC infusions.Adverse events,laboratory parameters,PASl,and PGA were analyzed.We did not observe obvious side effects during the treatment and 6-month follow-up.A total of 47.1%(8/17)of the psoriasis patients had at least 40%improvement in the PASl score,and 17.6%(3/17)had no sign of disease or minimal disease based on the PGA score.And the efficiency was 25%(2/8)for males and 66.7%(6/9)for females.After UMSC transplantation(UMSCT),the frequencies of Tregs and CD4^(+)memory T cells were significantly increased,and the frequencies of T helper(Th)17 and CD4^(+)naive T cells were significantly decreased in peripheral blood(PB)of psoriasis patients.And all responders showed significant increases in Tregs and CD4^(+)memory T cells,and significant decreases in Th17 cells and serum IL-17 level after UMsCT.And baseline level of Tregs in responders were significantly lower than those in nonresponders.In conclusion,allogeneic UMSCT is safe and partially effective in psoriasis patients,and level of Tregs may be used as a potent biomarker to predict the clinical efficacy of UMSCT.Trial registration Clinical Trials NCT03765957.Lamei Cheng Siqi Wang Cong Peng Xiao Zou Chao Yang Hua Mei Chuang Li Xian Su Na Xiao Qi Ouyang Mi Zhang Qiaolin Wang Yan Luo Minxue Shen Qun Qin Honglin Wang Wu Zhu Guangxiu Lu Ge Lin Yehong Kuang Xiang Chen 2022Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2022,7,9:2
2Temperature sensitivity of organic compound destruction in SCWO process显示文摘To study the temperature sensitivity of the destruction of organic compounds in supercritical water oxidation process(SCWO), oxidation effects of twelve chemicals in supercritical water were investigated. The SCWO reaction rates of different compounds improved to varying degrees with the increase of temperature, so the highest slope of the temperature-effect curve(imax) was defined as the maximum ratio of removal ratio to working temperature. It is an important index to stand for the temperature sensitivity effect in SCWO. It was proven that the higher imax is, the more significant the effect of temperature on the SCWO effect is. Since the high-temperature area of SCWO equipment is subject to considerable damage from fatigue, the temperature is of great significance in SCWO equipment operation. Generally, most compounds(imax > 0.25) can be completely oxidized when the reactor temperature reaches 500℃. However, some compounds(imax > 0.25) need a higher temperature for complete oxidation, up to 560℃. To analyze the correlation coefficients between imax and various molecular descriptors, a quantum chemical method was used in this study. The structures of the twelve organic compounds were optimized by the Density Functional Theory B3LYP/6-311G method, as well as their quantum properties. It was shown that six molecular descriptors were negatively correlated to imax while other three descriptors were positively correlated to imax. Among them, dipole moment had the greatest effect on the oxidation thermodynamics of the twelve organic compounds. 7Versatile sensing devices for self-driven designated therapy based on robust breathable composite films显示文摘Flexible wearable electronics were developed for applications such as electronic skins,human-machine interactions,healthcare monitoring,and anti-infection therapy.But conventional materials showed impermeability,single sensing ability,and no designated therapy,which hindered their applications.Thus it was still a great challenge to develop electronic devices with multifunctional sensing properties and self-driven anti-infection therapy.Herein,flexible and breathable on-skin electronic devices for multifunctional fabric based sensing and self-driven designated anti-infection therapy were prepared successfully with cellulose nanocrystals/iron(Ⅲ)ion/polyvinyl alcohol(CNC/Fe^(3+)/PVA)composite.The resultant composite films possessed robust mechanical performances,outstanding conductivity,and distinguished breathability(3.03 kg/(m^(2)·d)),which benefited from the multiple interactions of weak hydrogen bonds and Fe^(3+) chelation and synergistic effects among CNC,polyaniline(PANI),and PVA.Surprisingly,the film could be assembled as a multifunctional sensor to actively monitor real-time physical and infection related signals such as temperature,moisture,pH,NH3,and human movements even at sweat states.More importantly,this multifunctional device could act as a self-driven therapist to eliminate bacterial by the release of Fe^(3+),which was driven by the damage of metal coordination Fe-O bonds due to the high temperature caused by infection at wound sites.Thus,the composite films had potential versatile applications in electronic skins,smart wound dressings,human-machine interactions,and self-driven anti-infection therapy.Zhaofeng Ouyang Songbo Cui Houyong Yu Dewen Xu Chuang Wang Dongping Tang Kam Chiu Tam 2022Nano Research2022,15,2:1
