How many sutures in the southern Central Asian Orogenic Belt:Insights from East Xinjiang-West Gansu(NW China)?显示文摘How ophiolitic mèlanges can be defined as sutures is controversial with regard to accretionary orogenesis and continental growth. The Chinese Altay,East junggar,Tianshan, and Beishan belts of the southern Central Asian Orogenic Belt(CAOB) in Northwest China, offer a special natural laboratory to resolve this puzzle. In the Chinese Altay, the Erqis unit consists of ophiolitic melanges and coherent assemblages, forming a Paleozoic accretionary complex. At least two ophiolitic melanges(Armantai, and Kelameili) in East Junggar, characterized by imbricated ophiolitic melanges,Nb-enriched basalts, adakitic rocks and volcanic rocks, belong to a Devonian-Carboniferous intra-oceanic island arc with some Paleozoic ophiolites, superimposed by Permian arc volcanism. In the Tianshan, ophiolitic melanges like Kanggurtag,North Tianshan, and South Tianshan occur as part of some Paleozoic accretionary complexes related to amalgamation of arc terranes. In the Beishan there are also several ophiolitic melanges, including the Hongshishan,Xingxingxia-Shibangjing,Hongliuhe-Xichangjing,and Liuyuan ophiolitic units. Most ophiolitic melanges in the study area are characterized by ultramafic, mafic and other components, which are juxtaposed,or even emplaced as lenses and knockers in a matrix of some coherent units. The tectonic settings of various components are different, and some adjacent units in the same melange show contrasting different tectonic settings. The formation ages of these various components are in a wide spectrum, varying from Neoproterozoic to Permian. Therefore we cannot assume that these ophiolitic melanges always form in linear sutures as a result of the closure of specific oceans.Often the ophiolitic components formed either as the substrate of intra-oceanic arcs,or were accreted as lenses or knockers in subduction-accretion complexes.Using published age and paleogeographic constraints,we propose the presence of (1) a major early Paleozoic tectonic boundary that separates the Chinese Altay-East Junggar multiple subduction systems of the southern Siberian active margin from those of the northern Tarim;and (2) a major Permian suture zone that separates the Tianshan-Beishan from the northern active margin of the Tarim Craton. These new observations and interpretations have broad implications for the architecture and crustal growth of central Asia and other ancient orogens as well. | Wenjiao Xiao Chunming Han Wei Liu Bo Wan Ji'en Zhang Songjian Ao Zhiyong Zhang Dongfang Song Zhonghua Tian Jun Luo | 2014 | Geoscience Frontiers2014,5,4: | 31
Anatomy of composition and nature of plate convergence: Insights for alternative thoughts for terminal India-Eurasia collision显示文摘The pattern and timing of collision between India and Eurasia have long been a major concern of the international community. However, no consensus has been reached hitherto. To explore and resolve the disagreements in the Himalayan study,in this paper we begin with the methodology and basic principles for the anatomy of composition and nature of convergent margins, then followed by an effort to conduct a similar anatomy for the India-Eurasia collision. One of the most common patterns of plate convergence involves a passive continental margin, an active continental margin and intra-oceanic basins together with accreted terranes in between. The ultimate configuration and location of the terminal suture zone are controlled by the basal surface of the accretionary wedge, which may show fairly complex morphology with Z-shape and fluctuant geometry. One plausible method to determine the terminal suture zone is to dissect the compositions and structures of active continental margins. It requires a focus on various tectonic elements belonging to the upper plate, such as accretionary wedges, high-pressure(HP)-ultra-high-pressure(UHP) metamorphic rocks, Barrovian-type metamorphic rocks and basement nappes, together with superimposed forearc basins.Such geological records can define the extreme limits and the intervening surface separating active margin from the passive one, thus offering a general sketch for the surface trace of the terminal suture zone often with a cryptic feature. Furthermore, the occurrence of the cryptic suture zone in depth may be constrained by geophysical data, which, in combination with outcrop studies of HP-UHP metamorphic rocks, enables us to outline the terminal suture zone. The southern part of the Himalayan orogen records complicated temporal and spatial features, which are hard to be fully explained by the classic 'two-plate-one-ocean' template, therefore re-anatomy of the compositions and nature for this region is necessitated. Taking advantage of the methodology and basic principles of plate convergence anatomy and synthesizing previous studies together with our recent research, we may gain new insights into the evolution of the Himalayan orogeny.(1) The Yarlung-Zangbo ophiolite is composed of multiple tectonic units rather than a single terminal suture zone, and a group of different tectonic units were juxtaposed against each other in the backstop of the Gangdese forearc.(2) The Tethyan Himalayan Sequence(THS) contains mélanges with typical block-in-matrix structures, uniform southwards paleocurrents and age spectra of detrital zircons typical of Eurasia continent. All of these facts indicate that the THS belonged to Eurasia plate before the terminal collision, emplaced in the forearc of the Gangdese arc.(3) The Greater Himalayan Crystalline Complex(GHC) and Lesser Himalayan Sequence(LHS) comprise complex components including eclogites emplaced into the GHC and the upper part of the LHS. Judging from the fact that HP-UHP metamorphic rocks are exhumed and emplaced in the upper plate, the GHC and the upper part of the LHS where eclogite occur should be assigned to the upper plate, lying above the terminal subduction zone surface. It is the very surface along which the continuous subduction of the India subcontinent occurred, therefore acting as the terminal, cryptic suture. From the suture further southward, the bulk rock associations of the LHS and Sub-Himalayan Sequence(Siwalik) show little affinity of mélange, probably belonging to the foreland system of the India plate. By the anatomy of tectonic features of all the tectonic units in the Himalayan orogen as well as the ages of the subduction-accretion related deformation, we conclude that the terminal India-Eurasia collision occurred after 14 Ma, the timing of the metamorphism of the eclogites emplaced into the upper plate. The development of rifts stretching in N-S direction in Tibet and tectonic events with the transition from sinistral to dextral movements in shear zones, such as the Ailaoshan fault in East Tibet, can coordinately reflect the scale and geodynamic influence of the India-Eurasia convergence zone.By conducting a detailed anatomy of the southern Himalayas, we propose a new model for the final collision-accretion of the Himalayan orogeny. Our study indicates that the anatomy of structures, composition, and tectonic nature is the key to a better understanding of orogenic belts, which may apply to all the orogenic belts around the world. We also point out that several important issues regarding the detailed anatomy of the structures, compositions and tectonic nature of the Himalayan orogeny in future. | XIAO WenJiao AO SongJian YANG Lei HAN ChunMing WAN Bo ZHANG Ji'En ZHANG ZhiYong LI Rui CHEN ZhenYu SONG ShuaiHua | 2017 | Science China Earth Sciences2017,60,6: | 20
Accretionary processes and metallogenesis of the Central Asian Orogenic Belt:Advances and perspectives显示文摘As one of the largest Phanerozoic orogens in the world, the Central Asian Orogenic Belt(CAOB)is a natural laboratory for studies of continental dynamics and metallogenesis. This paper summarizes the research progresses of the accretionary processes and metallogenesis of the CAOB since the Peopled Republic of China was founded, and puts forward the prospect for future research.During the early period(1950s-1970s),several geological theories were applied to explain the geological evolution of Central Asia.In the early period of China's reform and opening-up,the plate tectonics theory was applied to explain the evolution of the northern Xinjiang and Xingmeng regions, and the opinion of subduction-collision between Siberian Kazakhstan and China-North Korea-Tarim plates was proposed. The idea of the Solonker-Yanbian suture zone was established. In the 1990s,the study of the CAOB entered a period of rapid development. One school of scholars including geologists from the former Soviet Union proposed a multi-block collision model for the assemblage of the CAOB.In contrast, another school of scholars, led by a Turkish geologist,Celal Sengor, proposed that the Altaids was formed through the growth and strike-slip duplicates of a single island arc,and pointed out that the Altaids is a special type of collisional orogen.During this period,Chinese geologists carried out a lot of pioneering researches on ophiolites and high-pressure metamorphic rocks in northern China, and confirmed the main suture zones accordingly. In 1999,the concept of'Central Asian metallogenic domain'was proposed, and it became one of the three major metallogenic domains in the world.Since the 21st century, given the importance for understanding continental accretion and metallogenic mechanism, the CAOB has become the international academic forefront.China has laid out a series of scientific research projects in Central Asia.A large number of important scientific research achievements have been spawned, including the tectonic attribution of micro-continents,timing and tectonic settings of ophiolites, magmatic arcs, identification and anatomy of accretionary wedges, regional metamorphism-deformation,(ultra)high-pressure metamorphism, ridge subduction plume-plate interaction archipelagic paleogeography and spatio-temporal framework of multiple accretionary orogeny, continental growth accretionary metallogenesis, structural superposition and transformation etc. These achievements have made important international influences. There still exist the following aspects that need further study:(1)Early evolution history and subduction initiation of the Paleo-Asian Ocean;(2)The accretionary mechanism of the extroversion Paleo-Asian Ocean;(3)The properties of the mantle of the Paleo-Asian Ocean and their spatiotemporal distribution;(4)The interaction between the Paleo-Asian Ocean and the Tethys Ocean;(5)Phanerozoic continental growth mechanism and its global comparison;(6)Accretionary metallogenic mechanism of the Central Asian metallogenic domain;and(7)Continental transformation mechanism. | Wenjiao XIAO Dongfang SONG Brian FWINDLEY Jiliang LI Chunming HAN Bo WAN Ji'en ZHANG Songjian AO Zhiyong ZHANG | 2020 | Science China Earth Sciences2020,63,3: | 16
A rapid reporter assay for recombinant human brain natriuretic peptide(rhBNP)by GloSensor technology显示文摘Accurate determination of biological activity is essential in quality control of recombinant human brain natriuretic peptide(rhBNP). In previous study, we successfully developed a genetically modified cell line 293GCAC3-based ELISA assay for rhBNP. But ELISA procedure is still tedious, so this study was aimed to develop a rapid and simple bioassay for rhBNP using GloSensor technology, which provides a platform of flexible luciferase-based biosensors for real-time detection of signaling events in live cells, including cGMP production. A reporter cell line 293GCAGlo-G1 was constructed by transfecting pGloSensor^(TM) 40 F plasmid into 293GCAC3. The reporter assay based on 293GCAGlo-G1 showed high precision with intraassay CV being 8.3% and inter-assay CV being 14.1%; high accuracy with 80%, 100% and 120% recovery rate being 99.2%, 102.4% and 99.0% respectively; and great linearity with R^2 of linear fitting equation being 0.99. Besides, no significant difference was found in test results of reporter assay and 293GCAC3-based ELISA assay(paired t test, p=0.630). All these results suggested that the reporter assay was a viable assay for biological determination of rhBNP. | Lei Yu Xinchang Shi Chunmei Han Chunming Rao Junzhi Wang | 2018 | Journal of Pharmaceutical Analysis2018,8,5: | 11
Rapid genomic changes in polyploid wheat and related species:implications for genome evolution and genetic improvement显示文摘A polyploid organism by possessing more than two sets of chromosomes from one species (autopolyploidy) or two or more species (allopolyploidy) is known to have evolutionary advantages. However, by what means a polyploid accommodates increased genetic dosage or divergent genomes (allopolyploidy) in one cell nucleus and cytoplasm constitutes an enormous challenge. Recent years have witnessed efforts and progress in exploring the possible mechanisms by which these seemingly intangible hurdles of polyploidy may be ameliorated or eventually overcome. In particular, the documentation of rapid and extensive non-Mendelian genetic and epigenetic changes that often accompany nascent polyploidy is revealing: the resulting non-additive and novel gene expression at global, regional and local levels, and timely restoration of meiotic chromosomal behavior towards bivalent pairing and disomic inheritance may ensure rapid establishment and stabilization as well as its long-term evolutionary success. Further elucidation on these novel mechanisms underpinning polyploidy will promote our understanding on fundamental issues in evolutionary biology and in our manipulation capacities in future genetic improvement of important crops that are currently polyploids in genomic constitution. This review is intended to provide an updated discussion on these interesting and important issues within the scope of a specific yet one of the most important plant groups-polyploid wheat and its related species. | Bao Liu Chunming Xu Na Zhao Bao Qi Josphert N. | 6 | Improved Differential Evolution with Shrinking Space Technique for Constrained Optimization显示文摘Most of the current evolutionary algorithms for constrained optimization algorithm are low computational efficiency. In order to improve efficiency, an improved differential evolution with shrinking space technique and adaptive trade-off model, named ATMDE, is proposed to solve constrained optimization problems. The proposed ATMDE algorithm employs an improved differential evolution as the search optimizer to generate new offspring individuals into evolutionary population. For the constraints, the adaptive trade-off model as one of the most important constraint-handling techniques is employed to select better individuals to retain into the next population, which could effectively handle multiple constraints. Then the shrinking space technique is designed to shrink the search region according to feedback information in order to improve computational efficiency without losing accuracy. The improved DE algorithm introduces three different mutant strategies to generate different offspring into evolutionary population. Moreover, a new mutant strategy called ‘‘DE/rand/best/1'' is constructed to generate new individuals according to the feasibility proportion of current population. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed method is verified by a suite of benchmark functions and practical engineering problems. This research presents a constrained evolutionary algorithm with high efficiency and accuracy for constrained optimization problems. | Chunming FU Yadong XU Chao JIANG Xu HAN Zhiliang HUANG | 2017 | Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2017,30,3: | 7

Deep Structure and Metallogenic Processes of the Altai-Junggar-Tianshan Collage in Southern Altaids显示文摘The Altai-Junggar-Tianshan collage in southern Altaids is an important metallogenic domain in Central Asia that contain world-class copper-iron-nickel deposits. As an accretionary-type metallogenic system, the metallogenic processes of the Altai-Junggar-Tianshan collage is essential in understanding the genetic mechanism of ore deposits in general. Here in this paper we present a brief introduction to the project on the western part of the Southern Altaids, entitled'The deep structure and metallegenic processes of the North China accretionary metallogenic systems'.This project mainly focuses on the deep structure and metallogenic background of the Altai-Junggar-Tianshan collage by integrated studies from field geology, structural mapping, geochemistry and geophysical exploration.Multiple new geological and geophysical methods will be applied to make transparency of the Kalatongke and Kalatage ore clusters. This will update our understanding of the geodynamic processes of metallogenesis and lead to the development and foundation of new metallogenic theories in accretionary orogens. | XIAO Wenjiao SONG Dongfang HAN Chunming WAN Bo ZHANG Jien AO Songjian ZHANG Zhiyong | 2019 | Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2019,93,5: | 2
Conformance control by a microgel in a multi-layered heterogeneous reservoir during CO_(2) enhanced oil recovery process显示文摘Injecting CO_(2)into the underground for oil displacement and shortage is an important technique for carbon capture, utilization and storage(CCUS).One of the main problems during the CO_(2)injection is the channeling plugging.Finding an effective method for the gas channeling plugging is a critical issue in the CO_(2)EOR process. In this work,an acid-resistance microgel named dispersed particle gel(DPG)was characterized and its stability was tested in the CO_(2)environment.The microgel size selection strategies for the homogeneous and heterogeneous reservoirs were respectively investigated using the single core flooding and three parallel core flooding experiments. Moreover, the comparison of microgel alternate CO_(2)(MAC)injection and water alternate CO_(2)(WAC)injection in the dual core flooding experiments were presented for the investigation of the role of microgel on the conformance control in CO_(2)flooding process. The results have shown that the microgel featured with ANH and CAN groups can keep its morphology after aging 7 days in the CO_(2)environment.Where,the small microgel with unobstructed migration and large microgel with good plugging efficiency for the high permeability zone were respectively featured with the higher recovery factor in homogeneous and heterogeneous conditions, which indicate they are preferred used for the oil displacement and conformance control.Compared to WAC injection,MAC injection had a higher incremental recovery factor of 12.4%.It suggests the acid-resistance microgel would be a good candidate for the conformance control during CO_(2)flooding process. | Zheyu Liu Jian Zhang Xianjie Li Chunming Xu Xin Chen Bo Zhang Guang Zhao Han Zhang Yiqiang Li | 2022 | Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2022,35,3: | 2

Porous Co_(2)VO_(4) Nanodisk as a High-Energy and Fast-Charging Anode for Lithium-Ion Batteries显示文摘High-energy–density lithium-ion batteries(LIBs)that can be safely fast-charged are desirable for electric vehicles.However,sub-optimal lithiation potential and low capacity of commonly used LIBs anode cause safety issues and low energy density. Here we hypothesize that a cobalt vanadate oxide,Co_(2)VO_(4),can be attractive anode material for fast-charging LIBs due to its high capacity(~1000 mAh g^(−1))and safe lithiation potential(~0.65 V vs.Li^(+)/Li).The Li+diffusion coefficient of Co2VO4 is evaluated by theoretical calculation to be as high as 3.15×10^(-10) cm^(2) s^(−1),proving Co_(2)VO_(4) a promising anode in fast-charging LIBs.A hexagonal porous Co2VO4 nanodisk(PCVO ND)structure is designed accordingly, featuring a high specific surface area of 74.57 m^(2) g^(−1) and numerous pores with a pore size of 14 nm.This unique structure succeeds in enhancing Li^(+) and electron transfer, leading to superior fast-charging performance than current commercial anodes. As a result, the PCVO ND shows a high initial reversible capacity of 911.0 mAh g^(−1) at 0.4 C,excellent fast-charging capacity(344.3 mAh g^(−1) at 10 C for 1000 cycles),outstanding long-term cycling stability(only 0.024% capacity loss per cycle at 10 C for 1000 cycles),confirming the commercial feasibility of PCVO ND in fast-charging LIBs. | Jinghui Ren Zhenyu Wang Peng Xu Cong Wang Fei Gao Decheng Zhao Shupei Liu Han Yang Di Wang Chunming Niu Yusong Zhu Yutong Wu Xiang Liu Zhoulu Wang Yi Zhang | 2022 | Nano-Micro Letters2022,14,1: | 1
