1Principle and Experimental Verification of Caudal-fin-type Piezoelectric-stack Pump with Variable-cross-section Oscillating Vibrator显示文摘In the traditional flow-resistance-differential (FRD) type valve-less piezoelectric pump,the generated outflow and pressure are discontinuous because of the inherent periodicity and fluctuation of the pump.To overcome these drawbacks,utilizing the bending vibration of piezoelectric bimorph to drive fluid was conducted.However,our investigation on the current status of this piezoelectric bimorph pump shows that larger driving force and vibration amplitude are required for fluid pumping;the pumping can be realized through the centrifugal force;and the mechanism of fluid pumping is no longer further studied.Based on these cases,the paper designed a piezoelectric-stack pump with variable-cross-section oscillating (VCSO) vibrator by imitating the swing of the caudal-fin of tuna,and the pump is neither the rotating type nor the volumetric type according to the taxonomy.The interaction between the oscillating vibrator and the fluid parcel is firstly analyzed from the viewpoint of momentum conservation,and the analytical expression of pump flow rate is obtained.Then the modal and harmonic response analyses on the vibrator immerged in water are carried out.From the analyses the first two orders resonance frequencies are 832 Hz and 1 939 Hz,respectively,and the peak value of the tip amplitude is 0.6 mm.Laser Doppler vibrometer is used to measure both the frequency and vibration amplitude,and the determined first two orders resonance frequencies are 617 Hz and 1 356 Hz,respectively.The measured tip amplitude reaches to the peak value of 0.3 mm.At last,experimental measurement for the flow rates with different driving frequencies is conducted.The results show that the flow rate can reach 560 mL/min at 1 370 Hz when the pump runs under the backpressure of 30 mm water column.And the flow rate is as much as 560% of that of experiment results carried out by researchers from Brazil.The proposed pump innovates in both theory and taxonomy;in addition,the pump overcomes the drawbacks such as large flow fluctuation and low flow rate in the traditional FRD type pumps,which will help to broaden the application of the valve-less piezoelectric pump.HU Xiaoqi ZHANG Jianhui HUANG Yi XIA Qixiao HUANG Weiqing ZHAO Chunsheng 2012Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2012,25,1:11

3A chemo-mechanical model coupled with thermal effect on the hollow core–shell electrodes in lithium-ion batteries显示文摘Electrode is a key component to remain durability and safety of lithium-ion(Li-ion) batteries. Li-ion insertion/removal and thermal expansion mismatch may induce high stress in electrode during charging and discharging processes. In this paper, we present a continuum model based on COMSOL Multiphysics software, which involves thermal, chemical and mechanical behaviors of electrodes. The results show that,because of diffusion-induced stress and thermal mismatch, the electrode geometry plays an important role in diffusion kinetics of Li-ions. 4Denitrification Rate and Controlling Factors for Accumulated Nitrate in the Deep Subsoil of Intensive Farmlands: A Case Study in the North China Plain显示文摘Denitrification in subsoil(to a depth of 12 m) is an important mechanism to reduce nitrate(NO3^-) leaching into groundwater.However, regulating mechanisms of subsoil denitrification, especially those in the deep subsoil beneath the crop root zone, have not been well documented. In this study, soil columns of 0–12 m depth were collected from intensively farmed fields in the North China Plain. The fields had received long-term nitrogen(N) fertilizer inputs at 0(N0), 200(N200) and 600(N600) kg N ha^-1 year^-1. Main soil properties related to denitrification, i.e., soil water content, NO3^-, dissolved organic carbon(DOC), soil organic carbon(SOC),pH, denitrifying enzyme activity(DEA), and anaerobic denitrification rate(ADR), were determined. Statistical comparisons among the treatments were performed. The results showed that NO3^- was more heavily accumulated in the entire soil profile of the N600 treatment, compared to the N0 and N200 treatments. The SOC, DOC, and ADR decreased with increasing soil depth in all treatments,whereas considerable DEA was observed throughout the subsoil. The long-term fertilizer rates affected ADR only in the upper 4 m soil layers. The ADRs in the N200 and N600 treatments were significantly correlated with DOC. Multiple regression analysis indicated that DOC rather than DEA was the key factor regulating denitrification beneath the root zone. 5The Escherichia coli O157:H7 DNA detection on a gold nanoparticle-enhanced piezoelectric biosensor显示文摘This paper presents development of a quartz crystal microbalance (QCM) biosensor for real-time de- tection of E. coli O157:H7 DNA based on nanogold particles amplification. Many inner Au nanoparticles were immobilized onto the thioled surface of the Au electrode, then more specific thiolated sin- gle-stranded DNA (ssDNA) probes could be fixed through Au-SH bonding. The hybridization was in- duced by exposing the ssDNA probe to the complementary target DNA of E. coli O157:H7 gene eaeA, then resulted in a mass change and corresponding frequency shifts ( △f ) of the QCM. The outer avidin-coated Au nanoparticles could combine with the target DNA to increase the mass. The electro- chemical techniques, cyclic voltammetry (CV) and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) were adopted to manifest and character each step. The target DNA corresponding to 2.0×103 colony forming unit (CFU)/mL E. coli O157:H7 cells can be detected by this biosensor, so it is practical to develop a sensitive and effective QCM biosensor for pathogenic bacteria detection based on specific DNA analy- sis. 6Principle and Experimental Verification of Novel Dual Driving Face Rotary Ultrasonic Motor显示文摘Existing rotary ultrasonic motors operating in extreme environments cannot meet the requirements of good environmental adaptability and compact structure at same time,and existing ultrasonic motors with Langevin transducers show better environmental adaptability,but size of these motors are usually big due to the radial arrangement of the Langevin transducers.A novel dual driving face rotary ultrasonic motor is proposed,and its working principle is experimentally verified.The working principle of the novel ultrasonic motor is firstly proposed.The 5th in-plane flexural vibration travelling wave,excited by the Langevin transducers around the stator ring,is used to drive the rotors.Then the finite element method is used in the determination of dimensions of the prototype motor,and the confirmation of its working principle.After that,a laser Doppler vibrometer system is used for measuring the resonance frequency and vibration amplitude of the stator.At last,output characteristics of the prototype motor are measured,environmental adaptability is tested and performance for driving a metal ball is also investigated.At room temperature and 200 V(zero to peak) driving voltage,the motor's no-load speed is 80 r/min,the stalling torque is 0.35 N·m and the maximum output power is 0.85 W.The response time of this motor is 0.96 ms at the room temperature,and it decreases or increases little in cold environment.A metal ball driven by the motor can rotate at 210 r/min with the driving voltage 300 V(zero to peak).Results indicate that the prototype motor has a large output torque and good environmental adaptability.A rotary ultrasonic motor owning compact structure and good environmental adaptability is proposed,and lays the foundations of ultrasonic motors' applications in extreme environments.LU Xiaolong HU Junhui YANG Lin ZHAO Chunsheng 2013Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2013,26,5:4
7Detection of collapsed buildings with the aerial images captured from UAV显示文摘In this paper, we present a method of detecting the collapsed buildings with the aerial images which are captured by an unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV) for the postseismic evaluation. Different from the conventional methods that apply the satellite images or the high-altitude UAV for the coarse disaster evaluation over large area, the purpose of this work is to achieve the accurate detection of collapsed buildings in small area from low altitude. By combining the motion and appearance features of collapsed buildings extracted from successive aerial images, each pixel in the input image will be measured by a statistical method where the background pixels will be penalized and the ones of collapsed buildings will be assigned with high value.The candidates of collapsed buildings will be established by integrating the extracted feature points into local groups with the online clustering algorithm. To reduce the false alarm caused by the complex background noise,each predicted candidate will be further verified by the temporal tracking framework where both the trajectory and the appearance of a candidate will be measured. The candidate of collapsed buildings that can survive through long time will be considered as true positive, otherwise rejected as a false alarm. 8A novel in-plane mode rotary ultrasonic motor显示文摘Ultrasonic motors have the merits of high ratio of torque to volume, high positioning precision, intrinsic holding torque, etc., compared to the conventional electromagnetic motors. There have been several potential applications for this type of motor in aerospace exploration, but bearings and bonding mechanism of the piezoelectric ring in the motors limit the performance of them in the space operation conditions. It is known that the Langevin type transducer has excellent energy efficiency and reliability. Hence using the Langevin type transducer in ultrasonic motors may improve the reliability of piezoelectric motors for space applications. In this study, a novel in-plane mode rotary ultrasonic motor is designed, fabricated, and characterized. The proposed motor operates in in-plane vibration mode which is excited by four Langevin-type bending vibrators separately placed around a ring-shaped stator. Two tapered rotors are assembled to the inner ring of the stator and clamped together by a screw nut. In order to make the motor more stable and convenient to fix, a thin cylindrical support is placed under the stator ring. 11Prediction of Deformation and Footprint of High-speed Rotating Radial Tires显示文摘In this research,the tire deformations due to rotation are divided into three parts:tread,belt and carcass.Tread deformation is obtained by using a rotating hollow cylinder model,belt expansion is calculated according to the laminated composite shell theory,and a formula of dynamic equilibrium profile is built to investigate carcass deformation.Moreover,a simple method is used to predict the footprint changes caused by tire deformation.Results show that a large deformation is occurring at tire shoulder,a smaller one at tread centre,and the shoulder deformations are mostly caused by carcass.Length of footprint side edges increase with tire rolling speed increasing.The predicted tread,belt,carcass deformations and footprint changes are in good agreement with finite element analysis results.The proposed method and the results will offer a helpful guidance to tire and vehicle engineers.CUI Zhibo CHAI Delong LYU Jiafeng HU Kai ZHANG Chunsheng HOU Dandan WANG Youshan 2020橡胶工业2020,67,5:2
