| 1 | Geohazards Induced by the Lushan Ms7.0 Earthquake in Sichuan Province, Southwest China:Typical Examples, Types and Distributional Characteristics显示文摘Geohazards induced by the Lushan Ms 7.0 earthquake on April 20, 2013 mainly have four types: collapse, landslide, slope debris flow, and sand-soil liquefaction. These geohazards mainly occurred near the epicenter, on steep slopes or below cliffs in high mountain and deep valley areas, and at or near fault ends. They have no obvious relationships to active faults, but their relationships to the weathering degree and structures of rock and rock mass are obvious. Compared with the Wenchuan Ms 8.0 earthquake on May 12, 2008, the Lushan earthquake is relatively little in the impact force and the throwing amount. All of these should be related to the magnitude of this earthquake, not very large but not very little. This character of the Lushan earthquake would make some processes uncompleted so as to bring about some concealed geohazards. | 2 | Seismogenic Structure of the April 20, 2013, Lushan Ms7 Earthquake in Sichuan显示文摘At 08:02 on April 20, 2013, a Ms7.0 earthquake occurred in Lushan, Ya'an, in the Longmenshan fault zone, Sichuan. The epicenter was located between Taiping Town and Shuangshi Town, Lushan County and the maximum earthquake intensity at the epicenter reached class IX. Field investigations in the epicenter area found that, although buildings were seriously damaged, no obvious surface rupture structure was produced, only some ground fissures and sand blows and water ejection phenomena being seen. An integrated analysis of high-resolution remote sensing image interpretation, mainshock and aftershock distribution, and focal mechanism solutions indicated that this earthquake was an independent rupturing event in the southwestern segment of the Longmenshan fault zone, belonging to the thrust-type earthquake. Ruptures occurred along the south-central segment of the Shuangshi-Dachuan fault and the principal rupture plane dipped SW at 33-43°. It is inferred that the Lushan earthquake might be related to the ramp activity of the basal detachment zone (13-19 km) of the Longmenshan fault zone. Historically, there occurred at least two Ms6-6.5 earthquakes along the Shuangshi-Dachuan fault zone; thus it is thought that the Lushan earthquake, different from the Wenchuan earthquake, was a characteristic one in the southwestern segment of the Longmenshan fault zone. In-situ stress measurements indicated the Lushan earthquake was the result of stress release of the southwestern segment of the Longmenshan fault zone after the Wenchuan earthquake. | 3 | Modification of NiCoCrAlY with Pt: Part Ⅱ. Application in TBC with pure metastable tetragonal(t’) phase YSZ and thermal cycling behavior显示文摘A thermal barrier coating system comprising Pt-modified NiCoCrAlY bond coating and nanostructured 4mol.% yttria stabilized zirconia(4YSZ, hereafter) top coat was fabricated on a second generation Ni-base superalloy. Thermal cycling behavior of NiCoCrAlY-4 YSZ thermal barrier coatings(TBCs) with and without Pt modification was evaluated in ambient air at 1100?C up to 1000 cycles, aiming to investigate the effect of Pt on formation of thermally grown oxide(TGO) and oxidation resistance. Results indicated that a dual layered TGO, which consisted of top(Ni,Co)(Cr,Al)_2O_4 spinel and underlying α-Al_2O_3, was formed at the NiCoCrAlY/4 YSZ interface with thickness of 8.4μm, accompanying with visible cracks at the interface. In contrast, a single-layer and adherent α-Al_2O_3 scale with thickness of 5.6μm was formed at the interface of Pt-modified NiCoCrAlY and 4 YSZ top coating. The modification of Pt on NiCoCrAlY favored the exclusive formation of α-Al_2O_3 and the reduction of TGO growth rate, and thus could effectively improve overall oxidation performance and extend service life of TBCs. | 15 | Evolution of Groundwater Major Components in the Hebei Plain: Evidences from 30-Year Monitoring Data显示文摘Groundwater is the main water source in the Hebei Plain. Evolution of groundwater chemistry can not only provide scientific data for sustainable usage of groundwater resources, but also help us in better understanding hydrogeochemical processes in aquifers. Spatial distribution and temporal evolution were analyzed on basis of monitoring data between 1975 and 2005. Results showed that major components in groundwater had increasing trends since 1970s. Major components in shallow groundwater increased more than those in deep one. In shallow groundwater of piedmont alluvial fan-recharge zone, concentrations of Na+, Ca2+, SO42- had great increasing trends, while other major components increased by less than 30%. There were great increasing trends in Na+, Cl-, SO42- concentrations in deep groundwater of central alluvial plain-intermediate zone, while other major components increased by no more than 20%. Deep groundwater from coast plain-discharge zone and piedmont alluvial fan-recharge zone showed no significant variations in major ion concentrations. In shallow groundwater, dissolution, evaporation and human activities played a major role in the increase in major components.
