| 1 | Geohazards Induced by the Lushan Ms7.0 Earthquake in Sichuan Province, Southwest China:Typical Examples, Types and Distributional Characteristics显示文摘Geohazards induced by the Lushan Ms 7.0 earthquake on April 20, 2013 mainly have four types: collapse, landslide, slope debris flow, and sand-soil liquefaction. These geohazards mainly occurred near the epicenter, on steep slopes or below cliffs in high mountain and deep valley areas, and at or near fault ends. They have no obvious relationships to active faults, but their relationships to the weathering degree and structures of rock and rock mass are obvious. Compared with the Wenchuan Ms 8.0 earthquake on May 12, 2008, the Lushan earthquake is relatively little in the impact force and the throwing amount. All of these should be related to the magnitude of this earthquake, not very large but not very little. This character of the Lushan earthquake would make some processes uncompleted so as to bring about some concealed geohazards. | 2 | Integrin-interacting protein Kindlin-2 induces mammary tumors in transgenic mice显示文摘Kindlin-2, an integrin-interacting protein, regulates breast cancer progression. However, currently, no animal model to study the role of Kindlin-2 in the carcinogenesis of mammary gland is available. We established a Kindlin-2 transgenic mouse model using a mammary gland-specific promoter, mammary tumor virus(MMTV) long terminal repeat(LTR). Kindlin-2 was overexpressed in the epithelial cells of the transgenic mice. The mammary gland ductal trees were found to grow faster in MMTV-Kindlin-2 transgenic mice than in control mice during puberty. Kindlin-2 promoted mammary gland growth as indicated by more numerous duct branches and larger lumens, and more alveoli were formed in the mammary glands during pregnancy under Kindlin-2 overexpression. Importantly, mammary gland-specific expression of Kindlin-2 induced tumor formation at the age of 55 weeks on average. Additionally, the levels of estrogen receptor and progesterone receptor were decreased, whereas human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 and β-catenin were upregulated in the Kindlin-2-induced mammary tumors. | 3 | Studies of key technologies for CdTe solar modules显示文摘In this paper, CdS thin films, which act as the window layer and n-type partner to the p-type CdTe layer, were prepared by chemical bath deposition (CBD). CdTe thin films were deposited by the close-spaced sublimation (CSS) method. To obtain high-quality back contacts, a Te-rich layer was created with chemical etching and back contact materials were applied after CdTe annealing. The results indicate that the ZnTe/ZnTe:Cu complex layers show superior performance over other back contacts. | 6 | C1orf106, an innate immunity activator, is amplified in breast cancer and is required for basal-like/luminal progenitor fate decision显示文摘Basal-like breast cancer with a luminal progenitor gene expression profile is an aggressive subtype of breast cancer with a poorer prognosis compared with other subtypes.However,genes that specifically promote basal-like breast cancer development remain largely unknown.Here,we report that a novel gene C1orf106 plays an important role in maintaining the feature of basal-like/luminal progenitors.C1orf106 is frequently amplified and overexpressed in basal-like breast cancer and is associated with a poor outcome in patients.In human TCGA database,C1orf106 expression was correlated with upregulation of ELF5 and downregulation of GATA3,two transcription factors that regulate mammary gland stem cell fate.Enhanced expression of C1orf106 promotes tumor progression and expression of basal-like/luminal progenitor marker ELF5;depletion of C1orf106 suppresses tumorigenesis and expression of basal-like/luminal progenitor marker GATA3.These findings suggest that C1orf106 maintains the basal-like/luminal progenitor character through balancing the expression of ELF5 and GATA3.Taken together,we demonstrated that C1orf106 is an important regulator for basal-like/luminal progenitors and targeting C1orf106 is of therapeutic value for breast cancer. | Ji Ma Cheng Liu Decao Yang Jiagui Song Jing Zhang Tianzhuo Wang Mengyuan Wang Weizhi Xu Xueying Li Shigang Ding Jun Zhan Hongquan Zhang | 2019 | Science China(Life Sciences)2019,62,9: | 2 |

| 11 | Effect of ZnTe/ZnTe:Cu complex back-contact on device characteristics of CdTe solar cells显示文摘ZnTe/ZnTe:Cu complex layers deposited by vacuum co-evaporation have been in- troduced to CdS/CdTe solar cells. The C-V and I-V curves have been investigated and the effects of un-doped ZnTe layer thickness as well as annealing temperatures on I-V characteristics of CdTe solar cells have been studied. The results show that the “roll over” and “cross over” phenomena of dark and light I-V curves can be eliminated by use of ZnTe/ZnTe:Cu layer and the fill factor for a typical sample has increased to 73%, where there is no high resistance transparent layer. | 12 | Massive and parallel 10 Tbit/s physical random bit generation with chaotic microcomb显示文摘Ultrafast physical random bit(PRB)generators and integrated schemes have proven to be valuable in a broad range of scientifc and technological applications.In this study,we experimentally demonstrated a PRB scheme with a chaotic microcomb using a chip-scale integrated resonator.A microcomb contained hundreds of chaotic channels,and each comb tooth functioned as an entropy source for the PRB.First,a 12 Gbits/s PRB signal was obtained for each tooth channel with proper post-processing and passed the NIST Special Publication 800-22 statistical tests.The chaotic microcomb covered a wavelength range from 1430 to 1675 nm with a free spectral range(FSR)of 100 GHz.Consequently,the combined random bit sequence could achieve an ultra-high rate of about 4 Tbits/s(12 Gbits/s×294=3.528 Tbits/s),with 294 teeth in the experimental microcomb.Additionally,denser microcombs were experimentally realized using an integrated resonator with 33.6 GHz FSR.A total of 805 chaotic comb teeth were observed and covered the wavelength range from 1430 to 1670 nm.In each tooth channel,12 Gbits/s random sequences was generated,which passed the NIST test.Consequently,the total rate of the PRB was approximately 10 Tbits/s(12 Gbits/s×805=9.66 Tbits/s).These results could ofer potential chip solutions of Pbits/s PRB with the features of low cost and a high degree of parallelism. | Yuqi Hu Qingsong Bai Xi Tang Wei Xiong Yilu Wu Xin Zhang Yanlan Xiao Runchang Du Leiji Liu Guangqiong Xia Zhengmao Wu Junbo Yang Heng Zhou Jiagui Wu | 2023 | Frontiers of Optoelectronics2023,16,3: | 0 |
| 13 | Acetylated HOXB9 at lysine 27 is of differential diagnostic value in patients with pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma显示文摘Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma(PDAC)is the ninth most common human malignancy and the sixth leading cause of cancer-related death in China.AcK27-HOXB9 is a newly identified HOXB9 post-transcriptional modification that can predict the outcome in lung adenocarcinoma and colon cancer well.However,the role of AcK27-HOXB9 in PDAC is unclear.The present study aims to investigate the differential diagnostic role of patients with AcK27-HOXB9 PDAC.Tissue microarrays consisting of 162 pancreatic tumor tissue samples from patients with PDAC and paired normal subjects were used to examine HOXB9 and AcK27-HOXB9 levels and localizations by immunohistochemical analysis and Western blot assay,respectively.HOXB9 was upregulated(P<0.0001),and AcK27-HOXB9(P=0.0023)was downregulated in patients with PDAC.HOXB9 promoted(P=0.0115),while AcK27-HOXB9(P=0.0279)inhibited PDAC progression.AcK27-HOXB9 predicted favorable outcome in patients with PDAC(P=0.0412).AcK27-HOXB9 also suppressed PDAC cell migration in a cell migration assay.The results of this study showed that HOXB9 promoted and AcK27-HOXB9 suppressed PDAC progression.The determination of ratio between HOXB9 and AcK27-HOXB9 exhibited potential diagnostic value in patients with PDAC. | Xiaoran Sun Jiagui Song Jing Zhang Jun Zhan Weigang Fang Hongquan Zhang | 2020 | Frontiers of Medicine2020,14,1: | 0 |

| 15 | Electrically pumped optomechanical beam GaN-LED accelerometer based on the quantum-confined Stark effect显示文摘Micro-nano optomechanical accelerometers are widely used in automobile,aerospace,and other industrial applications.Here,we fabricate mechanical sensing components based on an electrically pumped GaN light-emitting diode(LED)with a beam structure.The relationship between the blueshift of the electroluminescence(EL)spectra and the deformation of the GaN beam structure based on the quantum-confined Stark effect(QCSE)of the InGaN quantum well(QW)structure is studied by introducing an extra mass block.Under the equivalent acceleration condition,in addition to the elastic deformation of GaN-LED,a direct relationship exists between the LED’s spectral shift and the acceleration’s magnitude.The extra mass block(gravitational force:7.55×10^(-11)N)induced blueshift of the EL spectra is obtained and shows driven current dependency.A polymer sphere(PS;gravitational force:3.427×10^(-12)N)is placed at the center of the beam GaN-LED,and a blueshift of 0.061 nm is observed in the EL spectrum under the injection current of 0.5 mA.The maximum sensitivity of the acceleration is measured to be 0.02 m∕s^(2),and the maximum measurable acceleration is calculated to be 1.8×10^(6)m∕s^(2).It indicates the simultaneous realization of high sensitivity and a broad acceleration measurement range.This work is significant for several applications,including light force measurement and inertial navigation systems with high integration ability. | GANGYI ZHU XIN JI ZHENFU ZHANG XINGCAN YAN YING YANG FEIFEI QIN XIN LI JIAGUI WU XIAOJUAN SUN JUNBO YANG YONGJIN WANG | 2023 | Photonics Research2023,11,9: | 0 |
| 16 | Differential expression of Kindlin-1 and Kindlin-2 correlates with esophageal cancer progression and epidemiology显示文摘Esophageal cancer(EC) is one of the most lethal malignancies in China, but the etiology and risk factors remain unclear.The integrin-interacting proteins Kindlin-1 and Kindlin-2 are focal adhesion molecules that activate transmembrane receptor integrins and regulate tumor cell growth, invasion, and metastasis. Here, we report that Kindlin-I and Kindlin-2 are differentially expressed among Chinese EC patients. For this, Kindlin-1 and Kindlin-2 expression was evaluated in 220 EC patients by immunohistochemistry(IHC) and found to be correlated with the EC progression, along with a variety of epidemiologic parameters,including smoking,family EC history,and EC invasion status. Moreover,data downloaded from the Oncomine database revealed that both Kindlin-1 and Kindlin-2 were upregulated in ECs compared with normal esophageal tissues; although Kindlin-1 was highly expressed in well-differentiated tumors, whereas Kindlin-2 was more prevalent in poorly differentiated tumors. Collectively, these data suggest that Kindlin-1 may inhibit, while Kindlin-2 may promote, EC progression.
