| 1 | Phosphorus recovery from biogas fermentation liquid by Ca-Mg loaded biochar显示文摘Shortage in phosphorus(P) resources and P wastewater pollution is considered as a serious problem worldwide. The application of modified biochar for P recovery from wastewater and reuse of recovered P as agricultural fertilizer is a preferred process. This work aims to develop a calcium and magnesium loaded biochar(Ca–Mg/biochar) application for P recovery from biogas fermentation liquid. The physico-chemical characterization, adsorption efficiency, adsorption selectivity, and postsorption availability of Ca-Mg/biochar were investigated. The synthesized Ca–Mg/biochar was rich in organic functional groups and in Ca O and Mg O nanoparticles. With the increase in synthesis temperature, the yield decreased, C content increased, H content decreased, N content remained the same basically, and BET surface area increased. The P adsorption of Ca–Mg/biochar could be accelerated by nano-Ca O and nano-Mg O particles and reached equilibrium after 360 min.The process was endothermic, spontaneous, and showed an increase in the disorder of the solid–liquid interface. Moreover, it could be fitted by the Freundlich model. The maximum P adsorption amounts were 294.22, 315.33, and 326.63 mg/g. The P adsorption selectivity of Ca–Mg/biochar could not be significantly influenced by the typical p H level of biogas fermentation liquid. The nano-Ca O and nano-Mg O particles of Ca–Mg/biochar could reduce the negative interaction effects of coexisting ions. The P releasing amounts of postsorption Ca–Mg/biochar were in the order of Ca–Mg/B600 > Ca–Mg/B450 > Ca–Mg/B300. | 2 | Factors related to improved American Spinal Injury Association grade of acute traumatic spinal cord injury显示文摘BACKGROUND Acute traumatic spinal cord injury(ATSCI)usually results in disability,yet data on contemporary national trends of ATSCI incidence are limited.AIM To provide a systematic and basic theoretical basis for improving the treatment of acute spinal cord injury.METHODS Data from the Peking University Third Hospital Inpatient Sample databases were analyzed.A total of 304 patients with ATSCI were included from 2012 to 2017.The epidemiological data,treatment,complications and clinical outcomes of these patients were reviewed.RESULTS Of the 304 patients,257(84.5%)were male,and 75%of the patients were 55 years old or younger.135 patients had improved follow-up American Spinal Injury Association(ASIA)grades(44.4%).Only 14 patients with ASIA grade A improved.A statistically significant difference in prognosis between patients who underwent surgery within 72 h and those who underwent surgery after 72 h was observed(P<0.05).Surgery within 72 h resulted in better prognosis.The Steroid group and the Non-Steroid group showed a significant difference in outcome among patients with ASIA grades A and B(P<0.05).Patients with pneumonia had a poorer prognosis than patients without pneumonia(P<0.05).Surgery within 72 h resulted in better prognosis.CONCLUSION This study found that there was no significant difference in hospitalization time and prognosis between the Steroid group and the Non-Steroid group,but the patients with severe spinal cord injury(ASIA grades A and B)who underwent surgery combined with steroid therapy had a better prognosis than those who underwent surgery alone.The disastrous consequences of ATSCI and lack of consensus on the management strategy are obvious.Further improvements in treatment planns are needed in order to obtain more reliable functional outcomes. | Ci Tian Yang Lv Shu Li Dai-Dai Wang Yi Bai Fang Zhou Qing-Bian Ma | 2020 | World Journal of Clinical Cases2020,8,20: | 5 |
| 3 | Tuning F-doped degree of rGO:Restraining corrosion-promotion activity of EP/rGO nanocomposite coating显示文摘Given that graphene features high electrical conductivity,it is a kind of material with corrosion-promotion activity.This study aimed to inhibit the corrosion-promotion activity of graphene in coatings.Here,we report an exciting application of epoxy matrix(EP)/F-doped reduced graphene oxide(rGO)coatings for the long-term corrosion protection of steel.The synthesized F-doped rGO(FG)did not reduce the utilization of rGO by a wide margin and possessed distinctive electrically insulating nature.The electrical conductivity of rGO was approximately 1500 S/m,whereas those of FG-1,FG-2 and FG-3 were 1.17,5.217×10^−2 and 3.643×10^-11 S/m,respectively.FG and rGO were then dispersed into epoxy coatings.The chemical structures of rGO and FG were investigated by transmission electron microscopy(TEM),scanning probe microscopy(SPM),X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS),Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR),and X-ray diffraction(XRD).EP/FG coatings exhibited outstanding corrosion protection in comparison with blank EP and EP/rGO coatings mainly because the corrosion-promotion effect of rGO was eliminated.The anticorrosion ability of EP/FG coatingswasimproved with increased F-doped degree of FG.In addition,electrochemical impendance spectroscopy(EIS)results indicated that the Rc values of EP/FG-2 and EP/FG-3 were four orders of magnitude higher than those of EP/rGO in diluent NaCl solution(3.5 wt.%)after immersion for 90 days. | Lu Shen Yong Li Wenjie Zhao Kui Wang Xiaojing Ci Yangmin Wu Gang Liu Chao Liu Zhiwen Fang | 2020 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2020,44,9: | 5 |
| 4 | Monitoring the Amery Ice Shelf front during 2004-2012 using ENVISAT ASAR data显示文摘The Amery Ice Shelf is the largest ice shelf in East Antarctica. It drains continental ice from an area of more than one million square kilometres through a section of coastline that represents approximately 2% of the total circumference of the Antarctic continent. In this study, we used a time series of ENVISAT ASAR images from 2004-2012 and flow lines derived from surface velocity data to monitor the changes in 12 tributaries of the Amery Ice Shelf front. The results show that the Amery Ice Shelf has been expanding and that the rates of expansion differ across the shelf. The highest average annual rate of advance from 2004-2012 was 3.36 m·d-1 and the lowest rate was 1.65 m·d-1 . The rates in 2009 and 2010 were generally lower than those in other years. There was a low correlation between the rate of expansion and the atmospheric temperature recorded at a nearby research station, however the mechanism of the relationship was complex. | 5 | How the fluorographene replaced graphene as nanoadditive for improving tribological performances of GTL-8 based lubricant oil显示文摘Fluorographene,a new alternative to graphene,it not only inherits the 2-dimensional(2D)layered structure and outstanding mechanical properties,but also possesses controllable C-F bonds.It is meaningful to reveal the evolution processes of the tribological behaviors from graphene to fluorographene.In this work,fluorinated reduced graphene oxide nanosheets(F-rGO)with different degree of fluorination were prepared using direct gas-fluorination and they were added into gas to liquid-8(GTL-8)base oil as lubricant additive to improve the tribological performance.According to the results,the coefficient of friction(COF)reduced by 21%,notably,the wear rate reduced by 87%with the addition of highly fluorinated reduced graphene oxide(HF-rGO)compared with rGO.It was confirmed that more covalent C-F bonds which improved the chemical stability of HF-rGO resisted the detachment of fluorine so the HF-rGO nanosheets showed less damage,as demonstrated via X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS),Raman spectra,and transmission electron microscopy(TEM).Meanwhile,the ionic liquid(IL)adsorbed on HF-rGO successfully improved the dispersibility of F-rGO in GTL-8 base oil.The investigation of tribofilm by TEM and focused ion beam(FIB)illustrated that IL displayed a synergy to participate in the tribochemical reaction and increased the thickness of tribofilm during the friction process. | Xiaojing CI Wenjie ZHAO Jun LUO Yangmin WU Tianhao GE Qunji XUE Xiulei GAO Zhiwen FANG | 2021 | Friction2021,9,3: | 4 |
