| 1 | Determination of Lignin in Marine Sediment Using Alkaline Cupric Oxide Oxidation-Solid Phase Extraction-on-Column Derivatization-Gas Chromatography显示文摘Lignin serves as one of the most important molecular fossils for tracing Terrestrial Organic Matters (TOMs) in marine environment. Extraction and derivatization of lignin oxidation products (LOPs) are crucial for accurate quantification of lignin in marine sediment. Here we report a modification of the conventional alkaline cupric oxide (CuO) oxidation method, the modification consisting in a solid phase extraction (SPE) and a novel on-column derivatization being employed for better efficiency and reproducibility. In spiking blanks, recoveries with SPE for the LOPs are between 77.84% and 99.57% with relative standard deviations (RSDs) ranging from 0.57% to 8.04% (n=3), while those with traditional liquid-liquid extraction (LLE) are from 44.52% to 86.16% with RSDs being from 0.53% to 13.14% (n=3). Moreover, the reproducibility is greatly improved with SPE, with less solvent consumption and shorter processing time. The average efficiency of on-column derivatization for LOPs is 100.8% ± 0.68%, which is significantly higher than those of in-vial or in-syringe derivatization, thus resulting in still less consumption of derivatizing reagents. Lignin in the surface sediments sampled from the south of Yangtze River estuary, China, was determined with the established method. Recoveries of 72.66% to 85.99% with standard deviation less than 0.01mg/10g dry weight are obtained except for p-hydroxyben-zaldehyde. The lignin content Σ8 (produced from 10 g dry sediment) in the research area is between 0.231 and 0.587 mg. S/V and C/V ratios (1.028 ± 0.433 and 0.192 ± 0.066, respectively) indicate that the TOMs in this region are originated from a mixture of woody and nonwoody angiosperm plants; the high values of (Ad/Al) v suggest that the TOMs has been highly degraded. | ZHANG Ting LI Xianguo SUN Shuwen LAN Haiqing DU Peirui WANG Min | 2013 | Journal of Ocean University of China2013，12，1： | 10 |
| 2 | Acoustic radiation field of the truncated parametric source generated by a piston radiator:model and experiment显示文摘A theoretical model is presented to describe the parametric acoustic field generated by a piston radiator. In the model, the high-frequency primary wave interaction region that is truncated by a low-pass acoustic filter can be viewed as a cylindrical source within the Rayleigh distance of the piston. When the radius of the piston is much smaller than the length of the parametric region, this model is reduced to the Berketey’s End-Fire Line Army model. | 3 | Dynamic tensile behaviour and crack propagation of coal under coupled static-dynamic loading显示文摘The fracture behaviour and crack propagation features of coal under coupled static-dynamic loading conditions are important when evaluating the dynamic failure of coal.In this study,coupled static-dynamic loading tests are conducted on Brazilian disc(BD)coal specimens using a modified split Hopkinson pressure bar(SHPB).The effects of the static axial pre-stress and loading rate on the dynamic tensile strength and crack propagation characteristics of BD coal specimens are studied.The average dynamic indirect tensile strength of coal specimens increases first and then decreases with the static axial pre-stress increasing.When no static axial pre-stress is applied,or the static axial pre-stress is 30%of the static tensile strength,the dynamic indirect tensile strength of coal specimens shows an increase trend as the loading rate increases.When the static axial pre-stress is 60%of the static tensile strength,the dynamic indirect tensile strength shows a fluctuant trend as the loading rate increases.According to the crack propagation process of coal specimens recorded by high-speed camera,the impact velocity influences the mode of crack propagation,while the static axial pre-stress influences the direction of crack propagation.The failure of coal specimens is a coupled tensile-shear failure under high impact velocity.When there is no static axial pre-stress,tensile cracks occur in the vertical loading direction.When the static axial pre-stress is applied,the number of cracks perpendicular to the loading direction decreases,and more cracks occur in the parallel loading direction. | Xianjie Hao Weisheng Du Yixin Zhao Zhuowen Sun Qian Zhang Shaohua Wang Haiqing Qiao | 2020 | International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2020，30，5： | 8 |
| 4 | Regulation of the inflammatory cycle by a controllable release hydrogel for eliminating postoperative inflammation after discectomy显示文摘Surgery is the final choice for most patients with intervertebral disc degeneration(IDD).Operation-caused trauma will cause inflammation in the intervertebral disc.Serious inflammation will cause tissue defects and induce tissue degeneration,IDD recurrence and the occurrence of other diseases.Therefore,we proposed a scheme to treat recurrence after discectomy by inhibiting inflammation with an aspirin(ASP)-loaded hydrogel to restore the mechanical stability of the spine and relieve local inflammation.ASP-liposomes(ASP-Lips)were incorporated into a photocrosslinkable gelatin-methacryloyl(GelMA)via mixing.This material can effectively alleviate inflammation by inhibiting the release of high mobility group box 1(HMGB1)from the nucleus to the cytoplasm.We further assessed the expression of inflammatory cytokines,such as interleukin 6(IL-6)and tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α),and degeneration-related factors,such as type II collagen(COL-2),Aggrecan,matrix metallopeptidases-3(MMP-3),MMP-13,a disintegrin and metalloproteinase with thrombospondin motifs-4(ADAMTS-4)and ADAMTS-5 in rat nucleus pulpous cells.The level of IDD was analyzed through H&E,safranin-O staining and immunohistochemistry in rabbit samples.In vitro,we found that ASP-Lip@GelMA treatment significantly decreased inflammatory cytokines,MMP-3 and-13,and ADAMTS-4 and-5 and up-regulated COL-2 and Aggrecan via the inhibited release of HMGB-1 from the nucleus.In vivo,ASP-Lip@GelMA can effectively inhibit inflammation of local tissue after disc surgery and fill local tissue defects.This composite hydrogel system is a promising way to treat the recurrence of IDD after surgery without persistent complications. | Yu Liu Jiacheng Du Peng Peng Ruoyu Cheng Jiayi Lin Congxin Xu Huilin Yang Wenguo Cui Haiqing Mao Yuling Li Dechun Geng | 2021 | Bioactive Materials2021，6，1： | 6 |

| 11 | Development,Characterization and Application of a Three-Layer Intelligent pH-Sensing Indicator Based on Bromocresol Green(BCG)for Monitoring Fish Freshness显示文摘As a novel food quality monitoring technology,intelligent freshness indicator has received wide attention in recent years.However,its poor safety and stability are the main problems hindering its practical application.Hence a new pH-sensing indicator based on bromocresol green(BCG)was developed in this study for nondestructive and real-time monitoring the freshness of marine fishes.The indicator was designed with a three-layer structure,using the polytetrafluoroethylene(PTFE)membrane with high hydrophobicity and air permeability as the inner layer to isolate the moisture in the package,BCG-coated filter paper as the colorchanging layer to indicate the freshness of fish,and a transparent unidirectional permeable(TUP)membrane with moisture resistance as the out layer to isolate the moisture in the environment.This contributed to weaken the influence of humidity and prevent dye migration,so as to improve the accuracy and safety of the indicator.Therefore,a highly sensitive and distinguished color variation response to trimethylamine(TMA)standard solution with different concentrations was observed on the indicator.Additionally,the indicator showed a high color stability at different storage temperatures up to 14 days with total color differences(ΔE)less than 5.0.The indicator presented visible color variations from yellow to green then eventually to blue when applied to monitor the freshness of sea bass and salmon stored at 4℃,implying that fish was spoiled.Meanwhile,indicatorsΔE value was significantly positively correlated with total volatile basic nitrogen(TVB-N)and total viable count(TVC)in sea bass and salmon samples.Thus,the pH-sensing indicator can be applied as a cost-effective and promising intelligent indicator for monitoring fish freshness. | WEN Haiying OU Changrong TANG Haiqing SANG Shangyuan DU Yingqi CHEN Jingyi | 2023 | Journal of Ocean University of China2023，22，2： | 0 |
