1Pre-trained models for natural language processing: A survey显示文摘Recently, the emergence of pre-trained models(PTMs) has brought natural language processing(NLP) to a new era. In this survey, we provide a comprehensive review of PTMs for NLP. We first briefly introduce language representation learning and its research progress. Then we systematically categorize existing PTMs based on a taxonomy from four different perspectives. Next,we describe how to adapt the knowledge of PTMs to downstream tasks. Finally, we outline some potential directions of PTMs for future research. 3Ketogenic diet poses a significant effect on imbalanced gut microbiota in infants with refractory epilepsy显示文摘AIM To investigate whether patients with refractory epilepsy and healthy infants differ in gut microbiota(GM),and how ketogenic diet(KD) alters GM.METHODS A total of 14 epileptic and 30 healthy infants were recruited and seizure frequencies were recorded. Stool samples were collected for 16 S r DNA sequencing using the Illumina Miseq platform. The composition of GM in each sample was analyzed with MOTHUR,and intergroup comparison was conducted by R software.RESULTS After being on KD treatment for a week,64% of epileptic infants showed an obvious improvement,with a 50% decrease in seizure frequency. GM structure in epileptic infants(P1 group) differed dramatically from that in healthy infants(Health group). Proteobacteria,which had accumulated significantly in the P1 group,decreased dramatically after KD treatment(P2 group). Cronobacter predominated in the P1 group and remained at a low level both in the Health and P2 groups. Bacteroides increased significantly in the P2 group,in which Prevotella and Bifidobacterium also grew in numbers and kept increasing.CONCLUSION GM pattern in healthy infants differed dramatically from that of the epileptic group. 6Fecal microbiota transplantation induces remission of infantile allergic colitis through gut microbiota re-establishment显示文摘AIM To investigate the impact of fecal microbiota transplantation(FMT) treatment on allergic colitis(AC) and gut microbiota(GM).METHODS We selected a total of 19 AC infants,who suffered from severe diarrhea/hematochezia,did not relieve completely after routine therapy or cannot adhere to the therapy,and were free from organ congenital malformations and other contraindications for FMT. Qualified donor-derived stools were collected and injected to the AC infants via a rectal tube. Clinical outcomes and follow-up observations were noted. Stools were collected from ten AC infants before and after FMT,and GM composition was assessed for infants and donors using 16 S r DNA sequencing analysis.RESULTS After FMT treatment,AC symptoms in 17 infants were relieved within 2 d,and no relapse was observed in the next 15 mo. Clinical improvement was also detected in the other two AC infants who were lost to followup. During follow-up,one AC infant suffered from mild eczema and recovered shortly after hormone therapy. Based on the 16 S r DNA analysis in ten AC infants,most of them(n = 6) had greater GM diversity after FMT. As a result,Proteobacteria decreased(n = 6) and Firmicutes increased(n = 10) in post-FMT AC infants. Moreover,Firmicutes accounted for the greatest proportion of GM in the patients. 9Combined transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt and other interventions for hepatocellular carcinoma with portal hypertension显示文摘AIM: To evaluate combination transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt(TIPS) and other interventions for hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) and portal hypertension.METHODS: Two hundred and sixty-one patients with HCC and portal hypertension underwent TIPS combined with other interventional treatments(transarterial chemoembolization/transarterial embolization,radiofrequency ablation,hepatic arterio-portal fistulas embolization,and splenic artery embolization) from January 1997 to January 2010 at Beijing Shijitan Hospital. Two hundred and nine patients(121 male and 88 female,aged 25-69 years,mean 48.3 ± 12.5 years) with complete clinical data were recruited. We evaluated the safety of the procedure(procedurerelated death and serious complications),change of portal vein pressure before and after TIPS,symptom relief [e.g.,ascites,hydrothorax,esophageal gastricfundus variceal bleeding(EGVB)],cumulative rates of survival,and distributary channel restenosis. The characteristics of the patients surviving ≥ 5 and < 5 years were also analyzed.RESULTS: The portosystemic pressure was decreased from 29.0 ± 4.1 mm Hg before TIPS to 18.1 ± 2.9 mm Hg after TIPS(t = 69.32,P < 0.05). Portosystemic pressure was decreased and portal hypertension symptoms were ameliorated. During the 5 year followup,the total recurrence rate of resistant ascites or hydrothorax was 7.2%(15/209); 36.8%(77/209) for EGVB; and 39.2%(82/209) for hepatic encephalopathy. The cumulative rates of distributary channel restenosis at 1,2,3,4,and 5 years were 17.2%(36/209),29.7%(62/209),36.8%(77/209),45.5%(95/209) and 58.4%(122/209),respectively. No procedure-related deaths and serious complications(e.g.,abdominal bleeding,hepatic failure,and distant metastasis) occurred. 11Human placenta-derived mesenchymal stem cells loaded on linear ordered collagen scaffold improves functional recovery after completely transected spinal cord injury in canine显示文摘Traumatic spinal cord injury(SCI) is a major challenge in the clinic. In this study, we sought to examine the synergistic effects of linear ordered collagen scaffold(LOCS) and human placenta-derived mesenchymal stem cells(hPMSCs) when transplanted into completely transected beagle dogs. After 36 weeks observation, we found that LOCS+hPMSCs implants promoted better hindlimb locomotor recovery than was observed in the non-treatment(control) group and LOCS group. Histological analysis showed that the regenerated tissue after treatment was well integrated with the host tissue, and dramatically reduced the volume of cystic and chondroitin sulfate proteoglycans(CSPGs) expression. Furthermore, the LOCS+hPMSCs group also showed more neuron-specific βIII-tubulin(Tuj-1)-and NeuN-positive neurons in the lesion area, as well as axonal regeneration, remyelination and synapse formation in the lesion site. Additionally, dogs in the LOCS+hPMSCs group experienced enhanced sprouting of both ascending(CGRP-positive) sensory fibers and descending(5-HT-and TH-positive) motor fibers at the lesion area. All these data together suggested that the combined treatment had beneficial effects on neuronal regeneration and functional improvement in a canine complete transection model. 12IL-10 Gene Modified Dendritic Cells Inhibit T Helper Type 1-Mediated Alloimmune Responses and Promote Immunological Tolerance in Diabetes显示文摘Dendritic cells (DCs) have the potency to regulate the outcome of autoimmunity through the modulation of immune responses. The induction of antigen specific tolerance is critical for prevention and treatment of allograft rejection. In the present study,we transfected IL-10 gene into DCs and investigated their effect on inhibition of lymphocyte activity in vitro and induction of immune tolerance on islet allograft in mice. An IDDM C57BL/6 mouse model was induced by streptozotocin. The islet cells isolated from the BALB/c mice were transplanted into the kidney capules of the model mice followed by injection of IL-10 modified DCs (mDCs). The results showed that mDCs could significantly inhibit T lymphocyte proliferation mediated by allotype cells and induce its apoptosis,whereas,unmodified DCs (umDCs) could promote the murine lymphocyte proliferation markedly. The injection of mDCs could prolong the survival of allotype islet transplanted IDDM mice. The average plasma glucose (PG) level in mDCs treated mice returned to normal within 3 days and lasted for about 2 weeks. The rejection response in control mice occurred for 5 days after transplantation. The level of IFN-γ was lower while IL-4 was higher in mDCs treated mice than that in umDCs treated mice,which indicated that Th1/Th2 deviation occurred. 14Fatal complications in a patient with severe multi-space infections in the oral and maxillofacial head and neck regions: A case report显示文摘BACKGROUND Odontogenic infection is one of the common infectious diseases in oral and maxillofacial head and neck regions.Clinically,if early odontogenic infections such as acute periapical periodontitis,alveolar abscess,and pericoronitis of wisdom teeth are not treated timely,effectively and correctly,the infected tissue may spread up to the skull and brain,down to the thoracic cavity,abdominal cavity and other areas through the natural potential fascial space in the oral and maxillofacial head and neck.Severe multi-space infections are formed and can eventually lead to life-threatening complications(LTCs),such as intracranial infection,pleural effusion,empyema,sepsis and even death.CASE SUMMARY We report a rare case of death in a 41-year-old man with severe odontogenic multi-space infections in the oral and maxillofacial head and neck regions.One week before admission,due to pain in the right lower posterior teeth,the patient placed a cigarette butt dipped in the pesticide'Miehailin'into the'dental cavity'to relieve the pain.Within a week,the infection gradually spread bilaterally to the floor of the mouth,submandibular space,neck,chest,waist,back,temporal and other areas.The patient had difficulty breathing,swallowing and eating,and was transferred to our hospital as an emergency admission.Following admission,oral and maxillofacial surgeons immediately organized consultations with doctors in otolaryngology,thoracic surgery,general surgery,hematology,anesthesia and the intensive care unit to assist with treatment.The patient was treated with the highest level of antibiotics(vancomycin)and extensive abscess incision and drainage in the oral,maxillofacial,head and neck,chest and back regions.Unfortunately,the patient died of septic shock and multiple organ failure on the third day after admission.CONCLUSION Odontogenic infection can cause serious multi-space infections in the oral and maxillofacial head and neck regions,which can result in multiple LTCs.The management and treatment of LTCs such as multi-space infections should be multidisciplinary led by oral and maxillofacial surgeons.Tian-Guo Dai Hong-Bing Ran Yin-Xiu Qiu Bo Xu Jin-Qiang Cheng Ying-Kai Liu 2019World Journal of Clinical Cases2019,7,23:14
15Combined effect of shading time and nitrogen level on grain filling and grain quality in japonica super rice显示文摘There is limited information about the combined effect of shading time and nitrogen(N) on grain filling and quality of rice. Therefore, two japonica super rice cultivars, Nanjing 44 and Ningjing 3, were used to study the effect of shading time and N level on the characteristics of rice panicle and grain filling as well as the corresponding yield and quality. At a low N level(150 kg N ha^(–1), 150 N), grain yield decreased(by 21.07–26.07%) under the treatment of 20 days of shading before heading(BH) compared with the no shading(NS) treatment. These decreases occurred because of shortened panicle length, decreased number of primary and secondary branches, as well as the grain number and weight per panicle. At 150 N, in the treatment of 20 days of shading after heading(AH), grain yield also decreased(by 9.46–10.60%) due to the lower grain weight per panicle. The interaction of shading and N level had a significant effect on the number of primary and secondary branches. A high level of N(300 kg N ha^(–1), 300 N) could offset the negative effect of shading on the number of secondary branches and grain weight per panicle, and consequently increased the grain yield in both shading treatments. In superior grains, compared with 150 N NS, the time to reach 99% of the grain weight(T_(99)) was shortened by 1.6 to 1.7 days, and the grain weight was decreased by 4.18–5.91% in 150 N BH. In 150 N AH, the grain weight was 13.39–13.92% lower than that in 150 N NS due to the slow mean and the maximum grain-filling rate(GR_(mean )and GR_(max)). In inferior grains, grain weight and GR_(mean) had a tendency of 150 N NS>150 N BH>150 N AH. Under shaded conditions, 300 N decreased the grain weight due to lower GR_(mean) both in superior and inferior grains. Compared with 150 N NS, the milling and appearance qualities as well as eating and cooking quality were all decreased in 150 N BH and 150 N AH. Shading with the high level of 300 N improved the milling quality and decreased the number of chalky rice kernels, but the eating and cooking quality was reduced with increased chalky area and overall chalkiness. 16Chemical Constituents of Millettia speciosa显示文摘Objective To study the chemical constituents from Millettia speciosa. Methods The compounds were isolated and purified by silica gel, Sephadex LH-20, ODS column chromatography, and recrystallization. The structures were identified using physicochemical and spectral data. Results Thirteen compounds were isolated from M. speciosa and identified as docosanoic acid(1), tetracosane(2), octadecane(3), hexacosanoic acid(4), β-sitosterol acetate(5), β-sitosterol(6), syringin(7), maackiain(8), formononetin(9), ψ-baptigenin(10), rotundic acid(11), pedunculoside(12), and daucosterol(13). 17Low-cost,μm-thick,tape-free electronic tattoo sensors with minimized motion and sweat artifacts显示文摘Electronic tattoos(e-tattoos),also known as epidermal electronics,are ultra-thin and ultra-soft noninvasive but skin-conformable devices with capabilities including physiological sensing and transdermal stimulation and therapeutics.The fabrication of e-tattoos out of conventional inorganic electronic materials used to be tedious and expensive.Recently developed cut-and-paste method has significantly simplified the process and lowered the cost.However,existing cut-and-paste method entails a medical tape on which the electronic tattoo sensors should be pasted,which increases tattoo thickness and degrades its breathability.To address this problem,here we report a slightly modified cut-and-paste method to fabricate low-cost,open-mesh e-tattoos with a total thickness of just 1.5μm.E-tattoos of such thinness can be directly pasted on human skin and conforms to natural skin texture.We demonstrate that this ultra-thin,tape-free e-tattoo can confidently measure electrocardiogram(ECG),skin temperature,and skin hydration.Heart rate and even respiratory rate can be extracted from the ECG signals.A special advantage of such ultra-thin e-tattoo is that it is capable of high-fidelity sensing with minimized motion artifacts under various body movements.Effects of perspiration are found to be insignificant due to the breathability of such e-tattoos.Youhua Wang Yitao Qiu Shideh Kabiri Ameri Hongwoo Jang Zhaohe Dai YongAn Huang Nanshu Lu 2018npj Flexible Electronics2018,2,1:9
18Stepwise-Nanocavity-Assisted Transmissive Color Filter Array Microprints显示文摘Visible-light color flters using patterned nanostructures have attracted much interest due to their various advantages such as compactness,enhanced stability,and environmental friendliness compared with traditional pigment or dye-based optical flters.While most existing studies are based on planar nanostructures with lateral variation in size,shape,and arrangement,the vertical dimension of structures is a long-ignored degree of freedom for the structural colors.Herein,we demonstrate a synthetic platform for transmissive color flter array by coordinated manipulations between height-varying nanocavities and their lateral flling fractions.Te thickness variation of those nanocavities has been fully deployed as an alternative degree of freedom,yielding vivid colors with wide gamut and excellent saturation.Experimental results show that the color-rendering capability of the pixelated nanocavities can be still retained as pixels are miniaturized to 500 nm.Crosstalk between closely spaced pixels of a Bayer color flter arrangement was calculated,showing minimal crosstalk for 1μm2 square subpixels.Our work provides an approach to designing and fabricating ultracompact color flter arrays for various potential applications including stained-glass microprints,microspectrometers,and high-resolution image sensing systems.Yasi Wang Mengjie Zheng Qifeng Ruan Yanming Zhou Yiqin Chen Peng Dai Zhengmei Yang Zihao Lin Yuxiang Long Ying Li Na Liu Cheng-Wei Qiu Joel K.W.Yang Huigao Duan 2018Research2018,,1:8
19Protective effect of Bifidobacterium infantis CGMCC313-2 on ovalbumin-induced airway asthma and b-lactoglobulininduced intestinal food allergy mouse models显示文摘AIM To determine whether oral administration of Bifidobacterium infantis CGMCC313-2(B. infantis CGMCC313-2) inhibits allergen-induced airway inflammation and food allergies in a mouse model.METHODS Ovalbumin(OVA)-induced allergic asthma and b-lactoglobulin-induced food allergy mouse models were used in this study. Following oral administration of B. infantis CGMCC313-2 during or after allergen sensitization, histopathologic changes in the lung and intestine were evaluated by hematoxylin and eosin(HE) staining. In the allergic asthma mouse model, we evaluated the proportion of lung-infiltrating inflammatory cells. OVAspecific IgE and IgG1 levels in serum and cytokine levels in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid(BALF) were also assessed. In the food allergy mouse model, the levels of total Ig E and cytokines in serum were measured.RESULTS Oral administration of B. infantis CGMCC313-2 during or after allergen sensitization suppressed allergic inflammation in lung and intestinal tissues, while the proportion of infiltrating inflammatory cells was significantly decreased in the BALF of allergic asthma mice. Moreover, B. infantis CGMCC313-2 decreased the serum levels of total Ig E in food allergy mice, and reductions in IgE and IgG1 were also observed in OVA-induced allergic asthma mice. 20A high-quality genome sequence of alkaligrass provides insights into halophyte stress tolerance显示文摘Alkaligrass(Puccinellia tenuiflora) is a monocotyledonous halophytic forage grass widely distributed in Northern China. It belongs to the Gramineae family and shares a close phylogenetic relationship with the cereal crops, wheat and barley. Here, we present a high-quality chromosome-level genome sequence of alkaligrass assembled from Illumina, Pac Bio and 10× Genomics reads combined with genome-wide chromosome conformation capture(Hi-C) data. The ~1.50 Gb assembled alkaligrass genome encodes 38,387 protein-coding genes, and 54.9% of the assembly are transposable elements, with long terminal repeats being the most abundant. Comparative genomic analysis coupled with stress-treated transcriptome profiling uncovers a set of unique saline-and alkaline-responsive genes in alkaligrass. The high-quality genome assembly and the identified stress related genes in alkaligrass provide an important resource for evolutionary genomic studies in Gramineae and facilitate further understanding of molecular mechanisms underlying stress tolerance in monocotyledonous halophytes.
