| 1 | Heterostructured Electrocatalysts for Hydrogen Evolution Reaction Under Alkaline Conditions显示文摘The hydrogen evolution reaction(HER) is a half-cell reaction in water electrolysis for producing hydrogen gas. In industrial water electrolysis, the HER is often conducted in alkaline media to achieve higher stability of the electrode materials. However, the kinetics of the HER in alkaline medium is slow relative to that in acid because of the low concentration of protons in the former.Under the latter conditions, the entire HER process will require additional effort to obtain protons by water dissociation near or on the catalyst surface. Heterostructured catalysts, with fascinating synergistic effects derived from their heterogeneous interfaces, can provide multiple functional sites for the overall reaction process. At present, the activity of the most active known heterostructured catalysts surpasses(platinum-based heterostructures) or approaches (noble-metal-free heterostructures) that of the commercial Pt/C catalyst under alkaline conditions, demonstrating an infusive potential to break through the bottlenecks. This review summarizes the most representative and recent heterostructured HER catalysts for alkaline medium. The basics and principles of the HER under alkaline conditions are first introduced, followed by a discussion of the latest advances in heterostructured catalysts with/without noblemetal-based heterostructures. Special focus is placed on approaches for enhancing the reaction rate by accelerating the Volmer step. | 2 | Stepwise-Nanocavity-Assisted Transmissive Color Filter Array Microprints显示文摘Visible-light color flters using patterned nanostructures have attracted much interest due to their various advantages such as compactness,enhanced stability,and environmental friendliness compared with traditional pigment or dye-based optical flters.While most existing studies are based on planar nanostructures with lateral variation in size,shape,and arrangement,the vertical dimension of structures is a long-ignored degree of freedom for the structural colors.Herein,we demonstrate a synthetic platform for transmissive color flter array by coordinated manipulations between height-varying nanocavities and their lateral flling fractions.Te thickness variation of those nanocavities has been fully deployed as an alternative degree of freedom,yielding vivid colors with wide gamut and excellent saturation.Experimental results show that the color-rendering capability of the pixelated nanocavities can be still retained as pixels are miniaturized to 500 nm.Crosstalk between closely spaced pixels of a Bayer color flter arrangement was calculated,showing minimal crosstalk for 1μm2 square subpixels.Our work provides an approach to designing and fabricating ultracompact color flter arrays for various potential applications including stained-glass microprints,microspectrometers,and high-resolution image sensing systems. | Yasi Wang Mengjie Zheng Qifeng Ruan Yanming Zhou Yiqin Chen Peng Dai Zhengmei Yang Zihao Lin Yuxiang Long Ying Li Na Liu Cheng-Wei Qiu Joel K.W.Yang Huigao Duan | 2018 | Research2018,,1: | 8 |

| 5 | Induced regulatory T cells suppress Tel cells through TGF-β signaling to ameliorate STZ-induced type 1 diabetes mellitus显示文摘Type 1 diabetes mellitus(T1D)is a chronic autoimmune condition in which the immune system destroys insulin-producing pancreatic β cells.In addition to well-established pathogenic effector T cells,regulatory T cells(Tregs)have also been shown to be defective in T1D.Thus,an increasing number of therapeutic approaches are being developed to target Tregs.However,the role and mechanisms of TGF-β-induced Tregs(iTregs)in T1D remain poorly understood.Here,using a streptozotocin(STZ)-induced preclinical T1D mouse model,we found that iTregs could ameliorate the development of T1D and preserve β cell function.The preventive effect was associated with the inhibition of type 1 cytotoxic T(Tel)cell function and rebalancing the Treg/Tc1 cell ratio in recipients.Furthermore,we showed that the underlying mechanisms were due to the TGF-β-mediated combinatorial actions of mTOR and TCF1.In addition to the preventive role,the therapeutic effects of iTregs on the established STZ-T1D and nonobese diabetic(NOD)mouse models were tested,which revealed improved β cell function.Our findings therefore provide key new insights into the basic mechanisms involved in the therapeutic role of iTregs in T1D. | Li Zhou Xuemin He Peihong Cai Ting Li Rongdong Peng Junlong Dang Yue Li Haicheng Li Feng Huang Guojun Shi Chichu Xie Yan Lu Yanming Chen | 2021 | Cellular & Molecular Immunology2021,18,3: | 3 |

| 9 | Inter-and intra-specific phenotypic variation of ecological stoichiometric traits in a mixed-oak secondary forest in China显示文摘Ecological stoichiometry provides a framework for the balance and flow of elements between organisms and ecosystems.Elemental phenotypes have an important influence on the environmental adaptation and ecological evolution of plants.There have been few reports on inter-and intra-specific phenotypic variations of ecological stoichiometric traits for congeneric species in a mixed forest although such variations are well-documented at the species level at global,regional and local scales.In this study,total carbon(TC),nitrogen(TN),phosphorus(TP)and potassium(TK)were measured in leaves and the elemental phenotypes were statistically analyzed in four species of oaks—Quercus fabri,Q.serrata var.glandulifera,Q.acutissima and Q.variabilis—in a mixed-oak secondary forest in Yushan,Jiangsu,China.The average element concentrations in the four oak species were not relatively higher than previously reported for oaks from world and Chinese flora.Ecological stoichiometry traits were correlated with tree height and diameter at breast height,indicating that phosphorous and potassium were positively correlated with tree size,while carbon was negatively correlated,especially the relationship between oak growth and total carbon or total phosphorus was obvious,and the study concluded that this was because plant growth depended on phosphorus storage and had opposite effects on leaf carbon accumulation.Based on tree plasticity index and the coefficient of variation,there was medium variation in element concentrations.The plasticity index of total carbon levels was the lowest,and that of potassium the highest.Principal component analysis and cluster analysis showed that the intra-specific variation among the four oak species was higher than inter-specific variation.From the perspective of nutrient supply and ecological adaptation,this study creates a foundation for the management of secondary oak forest stands. | Yueyao Feng Xuan Li Biyao Zhou Rong Hu Huanchao Zhang Jiading Yang Yanming Fang | 2021 | Journal of Forestry Research2021,32,6: | 2 |

| 16 | The first application of isoindigo-based polymers in non-fullerene organic solar cells显示文摘Although isoindigo(IID)-based polymers can realize high charge mobility,these materials are currently confined to fullerenebased organic solar cells(OSCs).Herein,we designed a pair of alternative D-π-A type copolymers,PE71 and PE72,to expand the application in non-fullerene OSCs,where benzo[1,2-b:4,5-b′]thiophene(BDT),thieno[3,2-b]thiophene(TT)and IID units were used as D,A andπ-bridge,respectively.The aim of optimizing the length of alkyl chains on TT bridge is to ensure polymer solubility,crystallinity as well as miscibility with acceptor molecules.We find that PE71 and PE72 exhibit similar optical and electronic properties,but PE71 with shorter hexyl chain tends to aggregate into fiber-like structure.In the end,Y6 is selected as the electron acceptor because of suitable energy levels and complementary absorption spectrum.Finally,PE71:Y6 device realizes a power conversion efficiency(PCE)of 12.03%,which is obviously higher than that of PE72:Y6 device(9.74%)and is also the highest value for IID-based photovoltaic polymers.The charge transport,molecular aggregation,film morphology and energy loss analysis were systematically investigated.The improved photovoltaic performance of PE71:Y6 mainly originates from the better interpenetrating network structure toward facilitating exciton seperation and free charge carrier transportation.Our results indicate that IID-based D-π-A polymers can also be utilized in non-fullerene OSCs and the alkyl chains on the thieno[3,2-b]thiopheneπ-bridge have a vital effect on the photovoltaic performance. | Bao Zhang Ning An Hongbo Wu Yanfang Geng Yanming Sun Zaifei Ma Weiwei Li Qiang Guo Erjun Zhou | 2020 | Science China Chemistry2020,63,9: | 1 |

| 20 | Effects of Seawater Acidification on Early Development of Clam Cyclina sinensis显示文摘Anthropogenic emission of atmospheric carbon dioxide (CO2) has led to a rapid increase in atmospheric CO2 concentra- tion. Increasing atmospheric CO2 can reduce seawater pH and carbonate ions, which may adversely affect the survival of the larvae of calcareous animals. Cyclina sinensis is a commercially and ecologically important species in several Asian countries. Living in coast shallow waters, this species has experienced the coastal environmental changes frequently throughout its life cycle. In this study, we simulated possible future seawater pH values including 8.2, 7.8 and 7.4 and examined the effects of ocean acidification on the early development of C. sinensis. Clam embryos were incubated for 48 h (2 d) in control and high-CO2 seawater to compare embryo- genesis, larval growth and swimming behavior. Fertilization rate was quite sensitive to pH, and moderate acidification could induce a significant decrease in fertilization rate. However, only extreme acidification could bring significant negative effect to hatching rate, body size, and average path velocity of trochophora. Moreover, with seawater acidification, C. sinensis needs much more time to reach the same developmental stage, which increases the risk of larva survival.
