1Distribution of heavy metals in sediments of the Pearl River Estuary,Southern China:Implications for sources and historical changes显示文摘The distribution of heavy metals(Pb,Zn,Cd and As) in sediments of the Pearl River Estuary was investigated.The spatial distribution of heavy metals displayed a decreasing pattern from the turbidity maxima to both upstream and downstream of the estuary,which suggested that suspended sediments played an important role in the trace metal distribution in the Pearl River Estuary.In addition,metal concentrations were higher in the west part of the estuary which received most of the pollutants from the Pearl River.In the sediment cores,fluxes of heavy metals were consistent with a predominant anthropogenic input in the period 1970-1990.From the mid-1990s to the 2000s,there was a significant decline in heavy metal pollution.The observed decline has shown the result of pollution control in the Pearl River Delta.However,it is noteworthy that the metal concentrations in the most recent sediment still remained considerably high.Taken together,the enrichment of heavy metals in sediments was largely controlled by anthropogenic pollution.Feng Ye Xiaoping Huang Dawen Zhang Lei Tian Yanyi Zeng 2012Journal of Environmental Sciences2012,24,4:18

13Numerical Simulation for Three-Dimensional (3D) Unsteady State Temperature Field in Circumferential Laser Oxygen Cutting of Pipes显示文摘A 3D unsteady state numerical model of heat transfer in the circumferential laser oxygen cutting of pipes wasdeveloped. In order to minimize the computing time required for solving the finite difference equations as much aspossible, the alternating direction implicit (ADI) method was adopted. Based on the characteristics of the pipe cuttingprocess, the periodic boundary condition was applied to calculate the temperature distribution in the θ direction andthe self-adaptive grid technology was also used. The mathematical model takes account of the temperature-dependentthermal properties of the pipe. 16Cu+Al_2O_3 composite coating on AISI 1045 steel surface by laser cladding显示文摘Perfect composite coatings have been successfully produced with preplaced mixture of Cu+Al 2O 3(2%~20%) on AISI 1045 steel substrate by using a 2 kW CO 2 laser. A suitable amount of Al 2O 3 in Cu as additive can improve the processing conditions of laser cladding. Fe rich particles were observed in the clad layer during microstructural observation with SEM and chemical composition analysis by EDAX. The experimental results showed that microhardnesses of the coatings were over 150HV 0.05 and the electric resistivities were about 4.0×10 -8 ~4.5×10 -8 Ω·m. 17Ultrasensitive methyl salicylate gas sensing determined by Pd-doped SnO_(2)显示文摘Efficient chemicalwarfare agents(CWAs)detection is required to protect people from the cWAs in war and terrorism.In this work,a Pd-doped SnO_(2)nanoparticles-based gas sensor was developed to detect a nerve agent simulant named methyl salicylate.The sensing measurements of methyl salicylate under different Pd doping amounts found that the 0.5 at.%Pd-doped SnO_(2)exhibited a significant improvement in the detection of methyl salicylate at the ppb(1ppb=10-9)level,and the response value to 160 ppb methyl salicylate is 0.72 at 250℃.Compared with the pure SnO_(2),the response value is increased by 4.5 times,which could be attributed to the influence of the noble metal Pd on the oxygen state and its catalytic effect.In addition,the 0.5at.%Pd-doped SnO_(2)sensor still has an obvious response to 16ppb methyl salicylate with a response value of 0.13,indicating the lower detection limit of the sensor.Chaoqi ZHU Xiang LI Xiaoxia WANG Huiyu SU Chaofan MA Xiang GUO Changsheng XIE Dawen ZENG 2022Frontiers of Materials Science2022,16,4:0
