| 2 | Performance analysis of machine learning models for intrusion detection system using Gini Impurity-based Weighted Random Forest (GIWRF) feature selection technique显示文摘To protect the network, resources, and sensitive data, the intrusion detection system (IDS) has become a fundamental component of organizations that prevents cybercriminal activities. Several approaches have been introduced and implemented to thwart malicious activities so far. Due to the effectiveness of machine learning (ML) methods, the proposed approach applied several ML models for the intrusion detection system. In order to evaluate the performance of models, UNSW-NB 15 and Network TON_IoT datasets were used for offline analysis. Both datasets are comparatively newer than the NSL-KDD dataset to represent modern-day attacks. However, the performance analysis was carried out by training and testing the Decision Tree (DT), Gradient Boosting Tree (GBT), Multilayer Perceptron (MLP), AdaBoost, Long-Short Term Memory (LSTM), and Gated Recurrent Unit (GRU) for the binary classification task. As the performance of IDS deteriorates with a high dimensional feature vector, an optimum set of features was selected through a Gini Impurity-based Weighted Random Forest (GIWRF) model as the embedded feature selection technique. This technique employed Gini impurity as the splitting criterion of trees and adjusted the weights for two different classes of the imbalanced data to make the learning algorithm understand the class distribution. Based upon the importance score, 20 features were selected from UNSW-NB 15 and 10 features from the Network TON_IoT dataset. The experimental result revealed that DT performed well with the feature selection technique than other trained models of this experiment. | 3 | Turn-on fluorescence probe for selective detection of Hg(Ⅱ)by calixpyrrole hydrazide reduced silver nanoparticle: Application to real water sample显示文摘A simple and quick method for the synthesis of water dispersible stable silver nanoparticles has been developed. Calix[4]pyrrole octahydrazide(CPOH), has been successfully used as a reducing as well as stabilizing agent for the synthesis of silver nanoparticles. CPOH-AgNps have been duly characterized by SPR, PSA, TEM and EDX-ray. The ability of CPOH-AgNps as selective and sensitive sensor for various ions(Pb(Ⅱ), Cd(Ⅱ), Mn(Ⅱ), Fe(Ⅲ), Ni(Ⅱ), Zn(Ⅱ), Hg(Ⅱ), Co(Ⅱ), Cu(Ⅱ)) by colorimetry and spectrofluorimetry has been explored. CPOH-AgNps were found to be selective only for Hg(Ⅱ) ions. Nanomolar concentration of Hg(Ⅱ) ions can also be determined by spectrofluorimetry by increase in fluorescence intensity. Linear range of detection of Hg(Ⅱ) ions in water was found to be from 1 nmol/L to 1 μmol/L. | 14 | Differently synthesized gold nanoparticles respond differently to functionalization with L-amino acids显示文摘The potential utility of gold nanoparticles(AuNPs)synthesized via different methods for biomedical applications vary greatly due to inherent differences in their surface properties.In the present study,we investigated the functionalization of AuNPs synthesized by chemical reduction,plant extract,and bacteria-mediated methods with 22 L-amino acids.Nanoparticles produced by bacteria-mediated(B_AuNPs)and plant-mediated(P_AuNPs)methods showed good potential,as they were able to be functionalized with six(histidine,lysine,methionine,phenylalanine,tryptophan,and tyrosine)and four(cystine,tryptophan,tyrosine,and valine)amino acids,respectively.In contrast,AuNPs produced by chemical reduction(C_AuNPs)were not found to be suitable for functionalization.Optimal functionalization conditions were found to be amino acid concentration of 20-25 mM and neutral pH(7)for P_AuNPs,whereas B_AuNPs tolerated more variable conditions.The electrophoretic mobility of P_AuNPs after functionalization indicated that these nanoparticles were less sensitive than B_AuNPs to the deviations from optimal conditions.A significant change in mobility was observed when B_AuNPs were functionalized with either methionine or tryptophan.Overall,the results of this study suggest that the suitability of the three differently synthesized AuNPs with amino acids is in the following order:B_AuNPs>P_AuNPs>C_AuNPs. | Darshana V.Havaldar Reshma V.Patil Disha N.Moholkar Priyanka S.Magdum Akash P.Vadrale Kiran D.Pawar | 2020 | Particuology2020,18,5: | 1 |
