| 1 | Prediction of Flash Flood Susceptibility of Hilly Terrain Using Deep Neural Network:A Case Study of Vietnam显示文摘Flash floods are one of the most dangerous natural disasters,especially in hilly terrain,causing loss of life,property,and infrastructures and sudden disruption of traffic.These types of floods are mostly associated with landslides and erosion of roads within a short time.Most of Vietnamis hilly and mountainous;thus,the problem due to flash flood is severe and requires systematic studies to correctly identify flood susceptible areas for proper landuse planning and traffic management.In this study,three Machine Learning(ML)methods namely Deep Learning Neural Network(DL),Correlation-based FeatureWeighted Naive Bayes(CFWNB),and Adaboost(AB-CFWNB)were used for the development of flash flood susceptibility maps for hilly road section(115 km length)of National Highway(NH)-6 inHoa Binh province,Vietnam.In the proposedmodels,88 past flash flood events were used together with 14 flash floods affecting topographical and geo-environmental factors.The performance of themodels was evaluated using standard statisticalmeasures including Receiver Operating Characteristic(ROC)Curve,Area Under Curve(AUC)and Root Mean Square Error(RMSE).The results revealed that all the models performed well(AUC>0.80)in predicting flash flood susceptibility zones,but the performance of the DL model is the best(AUC:0.972,RMSE:0.352).Therefore,the DL model can be applied to develop an accurate flash flood susceptibility map of hilly terrain which can be used for proper planning and designing of the highways and other infrastructure facilities besides landuse management of the area. | Huong Thi Thanh Ngo Nguyen Duc Dam Quynh-Anh Thi Bui Nadhir Al-Ansari Romulus Costache Hang Ha Quynh Duy Bui Sy Hung Mai Indra Prakash Binh Thai Pham | 2023 | Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences2023,,6: | 2 |
| 2 | Upconversion luminescence of Gd2O3:Er3+and Gd2O3:Er3+/silica nanophosphors fabricated by EDTA combustion method显示文摘Gd2O3:Er^3+nanophosphors were fabricated by the combustion method in presence of Na2 ethylene diamine tetra acetic acid(EDTA-Na2)as fuel at not high temperature(≤350℃)within a very short time of 5 min.The added concentration of Er^3+ions in Gd2O3 matrix was changed from 0.5 mol%to 5.0 mol%.The X-ray diffraction pattern of samples indicates the monoclinic structure of Gd2O3:Er^3+.The morphology and chemical composition analysis of the Gd2O3:Er^3+samples are characterized by a field emission scanning electron microscope(FESEM)and a Fourier-transform infrared spectrometer(FTIR).The photoluminescence(PL),photo luminescence excitation(PLE)and upconversion(UC)at room temperature of the prepared materials with different concentrations of Er^3+were investigated.The PL of Gd2O3:Er^3+nanomaterials are shown in visible at 545,594,623,648,688 nm under excitation at 275 nm.The emission bands from transitions of Er^3+from 2P3/2 to 4F9/2 are observed,UC luminescent spectra of the Gd2O3:Er^3+/silica nanocomposites under 976 nm excitation show the bands at 548 and 670 nm.The influence of excitation power at 980 nm for transitions were measured and calculated.The results indicate that the upconversion process of Gd2O3:Er^3+/silica is two photons absorption mechanism.The low temperature dependence of UC luminescent intensities of the main bands of Gd2O3:Er^3+was investigated towards development of a nanotemperature sensor in the range of 10-300 K. | Le Quoc Minh Tran Kim Anh Nguyen Duy Hung Pham Thi Minh Chau Nguyen Thi Quy Hai Ho Van Tuyen Vu Thi Thai Ha Vu Duc Tu Wieslaw Strek | 2019 | Journal of Rare Earths2019,37,11: | 2 |

| 5 | Utility of urgent colonoscopy in acute lower gastro-intestinal bleeding:a single-center experience显示文摘Background.The role of urgent colonoscopy in lower gastro-intestinal bleeding(LGIB)remains controversial.Over the last two decades,a number of studies have indicated that urgent colonoscopy may facilitate the identification and treatment of bleeding lesions;however,studies comparing this approach to elective colonoscopy for LGIB are limited.Aims.To determine the utility and assess the outcome of urgent colonoscopy as the initial test for patients admitted to the intensive care unit(ICU)with acute LGIB.Methods.Consecutive patients who underwent colonoscopy at our institution for the initial evaluation of acute LGIB between January 2011 and January 2012 were analysed retrospectively.Patients were grouped into urgent vs.elective colonoscopy,depending on the timing of colonoscopy after admission to the ICU.Urgent colonoscopy was defined as being performed within 24 hours of admission and those performed later than 24 hours were considered elective.Outcomes included length of hospital stay,early re-bleeding rates,and the need for additional diagnostic or therapeutic interventions.Multivariable logistic regression analysis was performed to identify factors associated with increased transfusion requirements.Results.Fifty-seven patients underwent colonoscopy for the evaluation of suspected LGIB,24 of which were urgent.There was no significant difference in patient demographics,co-morbidities,or medications between the two groups.Patients who underwent urgent colonoscopy were more likely to present with hemodynamic instability(P=0.019)and require blood transfusions(P=0.003).No significant differences in length of hospital stay,re-bleeding rates,or the need for additional diagnostic or therapeutic interventions were found.Patients requiring blood transfusions(n=27)were more likely to be female(P=0.016)and diabetics(P=0.015).Fourteen patients re-bled at a median of 2 days after index colonoscopy.Those with hemodynamic instability were more likely to re-bleed[HR 3.8(CI 1.06–13.7)],undergo angiography[HR 9.8(CI 1.8–54.1)],require surgery[HR 13.5(CI 3.2–56.5)],and had an increased length of hospital stay[HR 1.1(1.05–1.2)].Conclusion:The use of urgent colonoscopy,as an initial approach to investigate acute LGIB,did not result in significant differences in length of ICU stay,re-bleeding rates,the need for additional diagnostic or therapeutic interventions,or 30-day mortality compared with elective colonoscopy.In a pre-specified subgroup analysis,patients with hemodynamic instability were more likely to re-bleed after index colonoscopy,to require additional interventions(angiography or surgery)and had increased length of hospital stay. | Mazen Albeldawi Duc Ha Paresh Mehta Rocio Lopez Sunguk Jang Madhusudhan R.Sanaka John J.Vargo | 2014 | Gastroenterology Report2014,2,4: | 1 |
