| 2 | Anti-tumour necrosis factor agent and liver injury:literature review,recommendations for management显示文摘Abnormalities in liver function tests,including transient and self-limiting hypertransaminasemia,cholestatic disease and hepatitis,can develop during treatment with anti-tumour-necrosis-factor(TNF)therapy.The optimal management of liver injury related to antiTNF therapy is still a matter of debate.Although some authors recommend discontinuing treatment in case of both a rise of alanine aminotransferase more than5 times the upper limit of normal,or the occurrence of jaundice,there are no standard guidelines for the management of anti-TNF-related liver injury.Bibliographical searches were performed in Pub Med,using the following key words:inflammatory bowel disease(IBD);TNF inhibitors;hypertransaminasemia;drugrelated liver injury;infliximab.According to published data,elevation of transaminases in patients with IBD treated with anti-TNF is a common finding,but resolution appears to be the usual outcome.Anti-TNF agents seem to be safe with a low risk of causing severe drugrelated liver injury.According to our centre experience,we found that hypertransaminasemia was a common,mainly self-limiting finding in our IBD cohort and was not correlated to infliximab treatment on both univariate and multivariate analyses.An algorithm for the management of liver impairment occurring during antiTNF treatment is also proposed and this highlights the need of a multidisciplinary approach and suggests liver biopsy as a key-point in the management decision in case of severe rise of transaminases.However,hepatic injury is generally self-limiting and drug withdrawal seems to be an exception. | Roberta Elisa Rossi Ioanna Parisi Edward John Despott Andrew Kenneth Burroughs James O'Beirne Dario Conte Mark Ian Hamilton Charles Daniel Murray | 2014 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2014，20，46： | 7 |
| 3 | Multi-length scale modeling of carburization,martensitic microstructure evolution and fatigue properties of steel gears显示文摘Multi-length scale modeling is performed to(i)predict the carburized case depth of SAE8620 steel gears by solving the Fick’s second law of diffusion,(ii)model the martensitic microstructure evolution in a grain inside the carburized case as well as to study the effect of stress cycling on retained austenite(RA)and martensite using a 3D phase-field model,(iii)simulate the effect of carburization and different RA contents on macroscale fatigue behavior of SAE8620 steel spur gear using the finite element method.The diffusion model predicts that the case depth increases with increasing heat treatment time and temperature.The phase-field simulations show that RA can transform to martensite during fatigue loading,where the extent of the transformation will depend on the type of stresses applied,i.e.stresses in a high stress regime or low stress regime of fatigue loading.Reverse transformation of martensite to austenite is also observed in low RA sample under high stress regime.The macroscale simulations show that the carburized case with high RA gives rise to better fatigue life compared to that with low RA. | Edward Charles Henry Crawford O’Brien Hemantha Kumar Yeddu | 2020 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2020，47，14： | 5 |
| 4 | Developing Wheat for Improved Yield and Adaptation Under a Changing Climate: Optimization of a Few Key Genes显示文摘世界上雨养无灌溉条件下种植的小麦常常受到干旱的影响。针对未来气候的模拟预测显示,除非采用适当的品种,否则温度上升和降雨模式的联合作用将加剧这种干旱情况,并可能造成小麦大幅度减产。由于物候基因的多样性,小麦具有广泛的适应性。小麦物候学提供了一个根据目标环境中可用水改变作物的发育阶段从而提高抗旱性。本文综述了春化(Vrn)、光周期(Ppd)和矮秆(Rht)基因等小麦物候学研究的最新进展。在不同气候条件下Vrn和Ppd基因的等位基因、单倍型和拷贝数有不同的反应,因而不仅可以改变发育阶段,而且可以改良产量。与模式植物拟南芥(Arabidopsis thaliana)相比,还有更多尚未发现的小麦物候基因,在目标环境中量化其效应将有助于通过育种提高小麦的耐旱性。因此,通过配置适当的物候基因、Rht基因和其他耐旱性相关的重要生理性状的组合,可以在水资源有限的环境中使产量最大化。 | M.A.N. | 8 | Treatment of hypogonadotropic male hypogonadism: Case-based scenarios显示文摘The aim of this study is to review four case-based scenarios regarding the treatment of symptomatic hypogonadism in men. The article is designed as a review of published literature. We conducted a Pub Med literature search for the time period of 1989-2014, concentrating on 26 studies investigating the efficacy of various therapeutic options on semen analysis, pregnancy outcomes, time to recovery of spermatogenesis, as well as serum and intratesticular testosterone levels. Our results demonstrated that exogenous testosterone suppresses intratesticular testosterone production, which is an absolute prerequisite for normal spermatogenesis. Cessation of exogenous testosterone should be recommended for men desiring to maintain their fertility. Therapies that protect the testis involve human chorionic gonadotropin(h CG) therapy or selective estrogen receptor modulators(SERMs), but may also include low dose h CG with exogenous testosterone. Off-label use of SERMs, such as clomiphene citrate, are effective for maintaining testosterone production long-term and offer the convenience of representing a safe, oral therapy. At present, routine use of aromatase inhibitors is not recommended based on a lack of longterm data. We concluded that exogenous testosterone supplementation decreases sperm production. It was determined that clomiphene citrate is a safe and effective therapy for men who desire to maintain fertility. | 11 | Studies on the anti-asthmatic and antitussive properties of aqueous leaf extract of Bryophyllum pinnatum in rodent species显示文摘Objective:To evaluate the antiasthmatic and antitussive properties of the aqueous leaf extract of Bryophyilum pinnatum {B.pinnatum)(BP) Lam.Methods:Ovalbiunin-sensilized guinea pigs which were treated with BP for 21 consecutive days were exposed to 0.2%histamine aerosol in a glass chamber.Mucus viscosity,white blood cell and lymphocyte counts and tracheal wall morphometry were measured.Bouts of cough were counted pre and post acute exposure of extract-treated(X7 d) guinea pigs to 7.5%citric acid aerosol in a chamber.Phenol red expectoration was estimated in mice after 7 d of daily administration of BP.Results:Doses of 200 and 400 mg/kg/day(×21 d) BP significantly increased the time for guinea pigs to experience preconvulsive dyspnoea.BP and salbutamol(0.5 mg/kg/day×21 d) reduced mucus viscosity in the sensitized group to values comparable with controls.White blood cell,lymphocyte counts and tracheal morphometry were not significantly altered.Both doses of BP also significantly reduced the bouts of cough but only 400 mg/kg/day significantly inhibited the amount of phenol red secreted.Conclusions:BP has demonstrated antiasthmatic and antitussive properties in these rodent models.These properties may underscore its use in Nigerian ethnomedicine. | Edward O Salami Raymond I Ozolua Stephen O Okpo Gerald I Eze Dickson O Uwaya | 2013 | Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Medicine2013，6，6： | 2 |
