| 1 | MicroRNA in TLR signaling and endotoxin tolerance显示文摘Toll-like receptors(TLRs)in innate immune cells are the prime cellular sensors for microbial components.TLR activation leads to the production of proinflammatory mediators and thus TLR signaling must be properly regulated by various mechanisms to maintain homeostasis.TLR4-ligand lipopolysaccharide(LPS)-induced tolerance or cross-tolerance is one such mechanism,and it plays an important role in innate immunity.Tolerance is established and sustained by the activity of the microRNA miR-146a,which is known to target key elements of the myeloid differentiation factor 88(MyD88)signaling pathway,including IL-1 receptor-associated kinase(IRAK1),IRAK2 and tumor-necrosis factor(TNF)receptor-associated factor 6(TRAF6).In this review,we comprehensively examine the TLR signaling involved in innate immunity,with special focus on LPS-induced tolerance.The function of TLR ligand-induced microRNAs,including miR-146a,miR-155 and miR-132,in regulating inflammatory mediators,and their impact on the immune system and human diseases,are discussed.Modulation of these microRNAs may affect TLR pathway activation and help to develop therapeutics against inflammatory diseases. | Md A Nahid Minoru Satoh Edward KL Chan | 2011 | Cellular & Molecular Immunology2011，8，5： | 34 |
| 2 | Polymethylmethacrylate bone cements and additives: A review of the literature显示文摘Polymethylmethacrylate(PMMA) bone cement technology has progressed from industrial Plexiglass administration in the 1950 s to the recent advent of nanoparticle additives. Additives have been trialed to address problems with modern bone cements such as the loosening of prosthesis, high post-operative infection rates, and inflammatory reduction in interface integrity. This review aims to assess current additives used in PMMA bone cements and offer an insight regarding future directions for this biomaterial. Low index(< 15%) vitamin E and low index(< 5 g) antibiotic impregnated additives significantly address infection and inflammatory problems, with only modest reductions in mechanical strength. Chitosan(15% w/w PMMA) and silver(1% w/w PMMA) nanoparticles have strong antibacterial activity with no significant reduction in mechanical strength. | 4 | Compliance among infants exposed to hepatitis B virus in a post-vaccination serological testing program in four provinces in China显示文摘Background:Mother to child transmission of hepatitis B virus(HBV)remains the most common form of HBV infection in China.Prevention of HBV vertical transmission involves timely administration of the complete hepatitis B vaccine(HepB)series and hepatitis B immunoglobulin.Post-vaccination serological testing(PVST)is utilized to determine an infant's outcome after HBV exposure and completion of HepB series.We aim to determine the frequency of compliance with a PVST testing cascade for HBV infected mothers and analyze factors associated with infant lost to follow up(LTFU).Methods:We conducted a retrospeaive cohort review of previously collected data in Fujian,Jiangxi,Zhejiang and Chongqing provinces in China from 1 June 2016-31 December 2017.The study population included all HBV-exposed infants and their mothers.SAS software was used for statistical analyses.Bivariate and multivariate regression analyses(presented in odds ratio[OR]with 95%confidence intervals[CI])were used to compare the proportional differences of factors associated with PVST not being completed.Results:Among enrolled 8474 target infants,40%of them transferred out of the study provinces without further information and 4988 were eligible for PVST.We found 20%(994)of infants were not compliant with the testing cascade:55%of LTFU occurred because parents refused venous blood sample collection or failure of sample collection in the field,16%transferred out after 6 months of age,and 10%of families chose to have independent,confidential PVST completed without reporting results.High PVST noncompliance rates were more likely to be from Fujian(aOR=17.0,95%CI:9.7-29.9),Zhejiang(aOR=5.7,95%Cl:3.2-10.1)and Jiangxi(aOR=1.9,95%CI:1.0-3.4),and from HBV e antigen positive mother(aOR=1.2,95%CI:1.1-1.4).Conclusions:This study found that the LTFU rate reached 20%in PVST program,which was a significant problem.We recommend implementing a national elearonic information system for tracking HBV at risk mother-infant pairs;encourage further research in developing a less invasive means of completing PVST,and take effective measures nationally to reduce HBV stigma.Without reducing the loss to follow up rate among infants eligible for PVST,elimination of vertical HBV transmission will be impossible. | Hui Zheng Guo-Min Zhang Po-Lin Chan Fu-Zhen Wang Lance Everett Rodewald Ning Miao Xiao-Jin Sun Zun-Dong Yin Jeffrey Edwards Hua-Qing Wang | 2019 | Infectious Diseases of Poverty2019，8，4： | 5 |

| 6 | Overview of the Shenzhen Emergency Medical Service Call Pattern显示文摘BACKGROUND:In Shenzhen,the Emergency Medical Service(EMS) system has been in service since 1997.This study aims to examine the operation of Shenzhen 120 EMS center and to identify the reasons of calling EMS.METHODS:In this retrospective quantitative descriptive study,the data from the Shenzhen 120 EMS registry in 2011 were analyzed.RESULTS:Shenzhen 120 EMS center is a communication command center.When the number of 120 are dialed,it is forwarded to the closest appropriate hospital for ambulance dispatch.In2011,the Shenzhen 120 EMS center received 153 160 ambulance calls,with an average of 420 calls per day.Calling emergency services was mainly due to traffic accidents.Trauma and other acute diseases constituted a majority of ambulance transports.The adult patients aged 15-60 years are the principal users of EMS.There are no recognized 'paramedic' doctors and nurses.The pre-hospital emergency service is under the operation of emergency departments of hospitals.Shenzhen at present does not have specialized pre-hospital training for doctors and nurses in posttrauma management.Moreover,specialized pre-hospital training,financial support,and public health education on proper use of EMS should be emphasized.CONCLUSION:The Shenzhen 120 EMS center has its own epidemiology characteristics.Traumatic injury and traffic accident are the main reasons for calling ambulance service.In-depth study emphasizing the distribution and characteristics of trauma patients is crucial to the future development of EMS. | Shuk Man Lo Yi Min Yu Lap Yip Larry Lee Mi Ling Eliza Wong Sek Ying Chair Edward J Kalinowski Tak Shing Jimmy Chan | 2012 | World Journal of Emergency Medicine2012，3，4： | 4 |
| 7 | Anti-rods/rings autoantibody generation in hepatitis Cpatients during interferon-α/ribavirin therapy显示文摘Chronic inflammation associated with hepatitis C virus(HCV) infection can lead to disabling liver diseases with progression to liver cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma. Despite the recent availability of more effective and less toxic therapeutic options, in most parts of the world the standard treatment consists of a weekly injection of pegylated interferon α(IFN-α) together with a daily dose of ribavirin. HCV patients frequently present circulating non-organ-specific autoantibodies demonstrating a variety of staining patterns in the indirect immunofluorescence assay for antinuclear antibodies(ANA). Between 20% to 40% of HCV patients treated with IFN-α and ribavirin develop autoantibodies showing a peculiar ANA pattern characterized as rods and rings(RR) structures. The aim of this article is to review the recent reports regarding RR structures and anti-rods/rings(antiRR) autoantibody production by HCV patients after IFN-α/ribavirin treatment. Anti-RR autoantibodies first appear around the sixth month of treatment and reach a plateau around the twelfth month. After treatment completion, anti-RR titers decrease/disappear in half the patients and remain steady in the other half. Some studies have observed a higher frequency of anti-RR antibodies in relapsers, i.e., patients in which circulating virus reappears after initially successful therapy. The main target of anti-RR autoantibodies in HCV patients is inosine-5'-monophosphate dehydrogenase 2(IMPDH2), the rate-limiting enzyme involved in the guanosine triphosphate biosynthesis pathway. Ribavirin is a direct IMPDH2 inhibitor and is able to induce the formation of RR structures in vitro and in vivo. Results of the survey indicate that significant efforts have been focused on the verification of TC forecast guidance by operational forecast agencies in the region, either individually or through international cooperation. A variety of TC forecast verification products are available to the forecasters in either real time or in post-season through multiple means, with the main focus on the deterministic track and intensity forecasts. Only a few verification products are available for probabilistic forecasts. Verification of TC precipitation and high wind forecasts are also lacking sufficient attention in the region.
