| 3 | Regulation of embryonic stem cell self-renewal and differentiation by TGF-β family signaling显示文摘Embryonic stem (ES) cells are characterized by their ability to indefinitely self-renew and potential to differentiate into all the cell lineages of the body. ES cells are considered to have potential applications in regenerative medicine. In particular, the emergence of an ES cell analogue-induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cells via somatic cell reprogramming by co-expressing a limited number of critical stemness-related transcriptional factors has solved the problem of obtaining patient-specific pluripotent cells, encouraging researchers to develop more specific and functional cell lineages from ES or iPS cells for broad therapeutic applications. ES cell fate choice is delicately controlled by a core transcriptional network, epigenetic modification profiles and complex signaling cascades both intrinsically and extrinsically. Of these signals, transforming growth factor β (TGF-β) family members, including TGF-β, bone morphogenetic protein (BMP), Activin and Nodal, have been reported to influence cell self-renewal and a broad spectrum of lineage differentiation in ES cells, in accordance with the key roles of TGF-β family signaling in early embryo development. | 5 | Liver transplant recipients with portal vein thrombosis:a single center retrospective study显示文摘BACKGROUND:Portal vein thrombosis(PVT)used to be a contraindication for liver transplantation(LT).This obstacle has been delt with following the improvement of LT-related techniques and therapeutic approaches to thrombosis. But the effect of PVT on LT outcomes is still controversial. We reviewed retrospectively the outcome of LT patients with PVT as well as risk factors and surgical management according to PVT grades. METHODS:A total of 465 adult LTs were performed from December 2002 through December 2006.Operative findings and the result of preoperative ultrasonography and imaging were reviewed for PVT grading(Yerdel grading).Comparison of risk factors,variables associated with perioperative period and prognosis between recipients with and without PVT is based on the grades. RESULTS:In the 465 LTs,42 were operatively confirmed to have PVT(9.0%)(19 recipients with grade 1,14 with grade 2,7 with grade 3,and 2 with grade 4).Increased age and treatment of portal hypertension were associated with PVT.Grade 1 or 2 PVT was treated by direct anastomosis or single thrombectomy.In grade 3 PVT patients,the donor PV was directly anastomosed to the dilated branch of the recipient portal venous system or to the distal open superior mesenteric vein through an interposition vein graft if needed.Grade 4 PVT was managed by our modified cavoportal hemitransposition technique.The comparison between PVT patients and controls showed no significant difference in operative duration and blood transfusion(P>0.05).The flow rate of the PV was lower in the PVT patients(48.881±12.788 cm/s)than in the controls(57.172±21.715 cm/s,P<0.05).The PVT patients had such postoperative complications as renal failure and PV rethrombosis(P<0.05).The 1-year survival rates in PVT and non-PVT patients were 78.6%and 76.4%respectively (P>0.05);the 3-year survival rates were 58.8%and 56.4% respectively(P>0.05). | 13 | Springback Prediction and Optimization of Variable Stretch Force Trajectory in Three-dimensional Stretch Bending Process显示文摘Most of the existing studies use constant force to reduce springback while researching stretch force. However, variable stretch force can reduce springback more efficiently. The current research on springback prediction in stretch bending forming mainly focuses on artificial neural networks combined with the finite element simulation. There is a lack of springback prediction by support vector regression(SVR). In this paper, SVR is applied to predict springback in the three-dimensional stretch bending forming process, and variable stretch force trajectory is optimized. Six parameters of variable stretch force trajectory are chosen as the input parameters of the SVR model. Sixty experiments generated by design of experiments(DOE) are carried out to train and test the SVR model. The experimental results confirm that the accuracy of the SVR model is higher than that of artificial neural networks. Based on this model, an optimization algorithm of variable stretch force trajectory using particle swarm optimization(PSO) is proposed. The springback amount is used as the objective function. Changes of local thickness are applied as the criterion of forming constraints. The objection and constraints are formulated by response surface models. The precision of response surface models is examined. Six different stretch force trajectories are employed to certify springback reduction in the optimum stretch force trajectory, which can efficiently reduce springback. | 14 | Relation Classification via Sequence Features and Bi-Directional LSTMs显示文摘Structure features need complicated pre-processing, and are probably domain-dependent. To reduce time cost of pre-processing, we propose a novel neural network architecture which is a bi-directional long-short-term-memory recurrent-neural-network(Bi-LSTM-RNN) model based on low-cost sequence features such as words and part-of-speech(POS) tags, to classify the relation of two entities. First, this model performs bi-directional recurrent computation along the tokens of sentences. Then, the sequence is divided into five parts and standard pooling functions are applied over the token representations of each part. Finally, the token representations are concatenated and fed into a softmax layer for relation classification. We evaluate our model on two standard benchmark datasets in different domains, namely Sem Eval-2010 Task 8 and Bio NLP-ST 2016 Task BB3. In Sem Eval-2010 Task 8, the performance of our model matches those of the state-of-the-art models, achieving 83.0% in F1. In Bio NLP-ST 2016 Task BB3, our model obtains F_1 51.3% which is comparable with that of the best system. | 16 | Two case reports and literature review for hepatic epithelioid angiomyolipoma: Pitfall of misdiagnosis显示文摘BACKGROUND Hepatic epithelioid angiomyolipoma(HEAML) is a rare liver disease and is easily misdiagnosed. Enhanced recognition of HEAML is beneficial to the differential diagnosis of rare liver diseases.CASE SUMMARY We presented two cases of HEAML in Changzheng Hospital, Naval Medical University, and then collected and analyzed all reports about HEAML recorded in PubMed, MEDLINE, China Science Periodical Database, and VIP database from January 2000 to March 2018. A total of 409 cases of HEAML in 97 reports were collected, with a ratio of men to women of 1:4.84 and an age range from 12 years to 80 years(median 44 years). Among the patients with clinical symptoms mentioned, 61.93%(205/331) were asymptomatic, 34.74%(115/331) showed upper or right upper quadrant abdomen discomfort, while a few of them showed abdominal mass, gastrointestinal symptoms, low fever, or weight loss. The misdiagnosis rate of HEAML was as high as 40.34%(165/409) due to its nonspecific imaging findings. Most of the tumors were solitary and round in morphology, with clear boundaries. Ultrasound scan indicated low echo with internal nonuniformity and rich blood supply in most cases. Computer tomography/magnetic resonance imaging enhanced scan showed varied characteristics. The ratio of fast wash-in and fast wash-out, fast wash-in and slow wash-out, and delayed enhancement was roughly 4:5:1. A definite diagnosis of HEAML depended on the pathological findings of the epithelioid cells in lesions and the expression of human melanoma black 45, smooth muscle actin,melanoma antigen, and actin by immunohistochemical staining. HEAML had a relatively low malignant rate of 3.91%. | 17 | Cetylpyridinium chloride mouth rinses alleviate experimental gingivitis by inhibiting dental plaque maturation显示文摘Oral rinses containing chemotherapeutic agents, such as cetylpyridinium chloride(CPC), can alleviate plaque-induced gingival infections, but how oral microbiota respond to these treatments in human population remains poorly understood. Via a doubleblinded, randomised controlled trial of 91 subjects, the impact of CPC-containing oral rinses on supragingival plaque was investigated in experimental gingivitis, where the subjects, after a 21-day period of dental prophylaxis to achieve healthy gingivae, received either CPC rinses or water for 21 days. Within-subject temporal dynamics of plaque microbiota and symptoms of gingivitis were pro?led via 16 S ribosomal DNA gene pyrosequencing and assessment with the Mazza gingival index.Cetylpyridinium chloride conferred gingival bene?ts, as progression of gingival in?ammation resulting from a lack of dental hygiene was signi?cantly slower in the mouth rinse group than in the water group due to inhibition of 17 gingivitis-enriched bacterial genera. Tracking of plaque α and β diversity revealed that CPC treatment prevents acquisition of new taxa that would otherwise accumulate but maintains the original biodiversity of healthy plaques. Furthermore, CPC rinses reduced the size, local connectivity and microbiota-wide connectivity of the bacterial correlation network, particularly for nodes representing gingivitisenriched taxa. | 18 | Estrogen and insulin synergistically promote endometrial cancer progression via crosstalk between their receptor signaling pathways显示文摘Objective: Despite evidence that estrogens and insulin are involved in the development and progression of many cancers, their synergistic role in endometrial carcinoma(EC) has not been analyzed yet.Methods: Here, we investigated how estrogens act synergistically with insulin to promote EC progression. Cell growth in vitro and in vivo, effects of estradiol and insulin on apoptosis and cell cycle distribution, and expression and activation of estrogen receptor(ER), insulin receptor(InsR), and key proteins in the PI3K and MAPK pathways were examined after combined stimulation with estradiol and insulin.Results: Compared to EC cells treated with estradiol or insulin alone, those treated with both estradiol and insulin exhibited stronger stimulation. Estradiol significantly induced phosphorylation of InsR-β and IRS-1, whereas insulin significantly induced phosphorylation of ER-α. In addition, treatment with both insulin and estradiol together significantly increased the expression and phosphorylation of Akt, MAPK, and ERK. Notably, InsR-β inhibition had a limited effect on estradiol-dependent proliferation,cell cycle, and apoptosis, whereas ER-α inhibition had a limited insulin-dependent effect, in EC cell lines. | 19 | Electrical and optical properties of ZnO:Al films with different hydrogen contents in sputtering gas显示文摘Aluminum-doped zinc oxide(Zn O:Al) films were deposited by direct current magnetron sputtering in incorporating hydrogen in sputtering gas at room temperature. The influences of hydrogen content in sputtering gas on the structural, optical, and electrical properties of Zn O:Al films were systematically investigated. It is found that hydrogen incorporated into Zn O lattice forms shallow donors in Zn O:Al films and plays an important role in the properties of Zn O:Al films. The electrical conductivity and infrared(IR) reflectance are improved due to the increase of electron carrier concentration, and the average transmittance decreases, which is ascribed to the strong scattering from the hydrogen incorporated and oxygen vacancies in Zn O:Al films. In this study,the resistivity of 5.5×10^(-4) Ω·cm is obtained, the average transmittance of the wavelength in the range of 400–900 nm is almost 86%, and the IR reflectance reaches 75% at 2,500 nm,which is higher than that of reported TCO films. The band gap determined by optical absorption is a result of competition between Burstein–Moss effect and many-body perturbation effect.
