| 4 | Hydrochemical Characteristics and Solute Dynamics of Meltwater Runoff of Urumqi Glacier No.1,Eastern Tianshan,Northwest China显示文摘Hydrochemical characteristics and solute dynamics of bulk meltwater draining from Urumqi Glacier No.1 were investigated in years 2006 and 2007.The glacial meltwater was slightly alkaline with the mean pH of 7.64 and 7.61 in 2006 and 2007,respectively.In the meltwater,the dominant anions were the bicarbonate and sulphate,and the dominant cation was calcium.The concentration of major cations were varied as c(Ca2+) > c(Mg2+) > c(K+) > c(Na+),while the order for the cations was c(HCO3) > c(SO42) > c(NO3) > c(Cl).The total dissolved solids(TDS) in meltwater had inverse relationships with the diurnal discharge.The major ion composition of meltwater was mainly controlled by rock weathering as inferred from the Gibbs model.Furthermore,the ion ratios and Piper diagram indicated that the main processes controlling the meltwater chemistry were carbonate weathering,pyrite weathering and feldspar weathering in rocks,and Ca2+ and HCO3 were the dominant ions during the carbonate weathering process.Solute flux calculation at Glacier No.1 station suggested that chemical denudation rates were 11.46 and 13.90 ton.km 2.yr 1 in 2006 and 2007,respectively. | FENG Fang LI Zhongqin JIN Shuang DONG Zhiwen WANG Feiteng | 2012 | Journal of Mountain Science2012,9,4: | 10 |
| 5 | Ice Surface-Elevation Change and Velocity of Qingbingtan Glacier No.72 in the Tomor Region,Tianshan Mountains,Central Asia显示文摘Glaciers in the Tomor region of Tianshan Mountains preserve vital water resources.However,these glaciers suffer from strong mass losses in the recent years because of global warming.From 2008 to 2009,a large-scale scientific expedition has been carried out in this region.As an individual reference glacier,the tongue area of Qingbingtan glacier No.72 was measured by the high precise Real Time Kinematic-Global Position System (RTK-GPS).In this paper,changes of the tongue area of Qingbingtan glacier No.72 has been studied based on topographic map,remote sensing image and the survey during 2008-2009 field campaign.Results indicated that the ice surface-elevation of the tongue area changed-0.22±0.14 m a-1 from 1964 to 2008.The estimated loss in ice volume was 0.014±0.009 km3,which represented a ~20 % decrease from the 1964 volume and was equivalent to average annual mass balance of-0.20±0.12 m water equivalent for the tongue area during 1964-2008.Terminus retreated by 1852 m,approximately 41 m a-1,with the area reduction of 1.533 km2 (0.034 km2 a-1) from 1964 to 2009.Furthermore,the annual velocity reached to ~70 m a-1.Comparing with the other monitored glaciers in the eastern Tianshan Mountains,Qingbingtan glacier No.72 experienced more intensive in shrinkage,which resulted from the combined effects of climate change and glacier dynamic,providing evidence of the response to climatic warming. | WANG Puyu LI Zhongqin LI Huilin WANG Wenbin WANG Feiteng | 2011 | Journal of Mountain Science2011,8,6: | 8 |
| 6 | Experimental and Numerical Studies of Vitiated Air Effects on Hydrogen-fueled Supersonic Combustor Performance显示文摘This paper deals with the vitiation effects of test air on the scramjet performance in the ground combustion heated facilities. The primary goal is to evaluate the effects of H2O and CO2, the two major vitiated species generated by combustion heater, on hydrogen-fueled supersonic combustor performance with experimental and numerical approaches. The comparative experiments in the clean air and vitiated air are conducted by using the resistance heated direct-connected facility, with the typical Mach 4 flight conditions simulated. The H2O and CO2 species with accurately controlled contents are added to the high enthalpy clean air from resistance heater, to synthesize the vitiated air of a combustion-type heater. Typically, the contents of H2O species can be varied within the range of 3.5%-30% by mole, and 3.0%-10% for CO2 species. The total temperature, total pressure, Mach number and O2 mole fraction at the combustor entrance are well-matched between the clean air and vitiated air. The combustion experiments are completed at the fuel equivalence ratios of 0.53 and 0.42 respectively. Furthermore, three-dimensional (3D) reacting flow simulations of combustor flowpath are performed to provide insight into flow field structures and combustion chemistry details that cannot resolved by experimental instruments available. Finally, the experimental data, combined with computational results, are employed to analyze the effects of H2O and CO2 vitiated air on supersonic combustion characteristics and performance. It is concluded that H2O and CO2 contaminants can significantly inhibit the combustion induced pressure rise measured from combustor wall, and the pressure profile decreases with the increasing H2O and CO2 contents in nonlinear trend; simulation results agree well with experimental data and the overall vitiation effects are captured; direct extrapolation of the results from vitiated air to predict the performance of actual flight conditions could result in over-fueling the combustor, possible inlet un-start and inappropriate combustion mode transition. However,with the rapid evolution of Internet applications the effectiveness of the port-based or payload-based identifi-cation approaches has been greatly diminished in recent years. And many researchers begin to turn their attentions to an alternative machine learning based method. This paper presents a novel machine learning-based classification model,which combines ensemble learning paradigm with co-training tech-niques. Compared to previous approaches,most of which only employed single classifier,multiple clas-sifiers and semi-supervised learning are applied in our method and it mainly helps to overcome three shortcomings:limited flow accuracy rate,weak adaptability and huge demand of labeled training set. | 10 | Glacier Volume Calculation from Ice-Thickness Data for Mountain Glaciers—A Case Study of Glacier No. 4 of Sigong River over Mt. Bogda, Eastern Tianshan, Central Asia显示文摘The determination of total glacial volume is important for the observation of climatic change and its consequences such as global sea-level rise. The tongue area of Glacier No. 4 of Sigong River over Mt. Bogda, eastern Tianshan was surveyed by ground-penetrating radar(GPR) and real time kinematic(RTK)-global positioning system(GPS) during the summer campaign 2009. In order to calculate the glacier volume, both co-kriging algorithm and estimation based on the theory of perfectly plastic material were employed. Results indicated that the ice-thickness distribution of the investigated glacier ranges from 0 to 105.0 m, with the mean thickness of 27.6 m in 2009. The corresponding ice volume was ~0.076 km3(~0.068 km3 water equivalent). The bedrock topography shows more undulating than the glacier surface. The difference of the calculated ice volume in this study and the estimated value from the empirical formula is large. | 11 | 60-year changes and mechanisms of Urumqi Glacier No.1 in the eastern Tianshan of China,Central Asia显示文摘Worldwide examination of glacier change is based on detailed observations from only a small number of glaciers.The ground-based detailed individual glacier monitoring is of strong need and extremely important in both regional and global scales.A long-term integrated multi-level monitoring has been carried out on Urumqi Glacier No.1(UG1)at the headwaters of the Urumqi River in the eastern Tianshan Mountains of Central Asia since 1959 by the Tianshan Glaciological Station,Chinese Acamedey of Sciences(CAS),and the glaciological datasets promise to be the best in China.The boundaries of all glacier zones moved up,resulting in a shrunk accumulation area.The stratigraphy features of the snowpack on the glacier were found to be significantly altered by climate warming.Mass balances of UG1 show accelerated mass loss since 1960,which were attributed to three mechanisms.The glacier has been contracting at an accelerated rate since 1962,resulting in a total reduction of 0.37 km2 or 19.3%from 1962 to 2018.Glacier runoff measured at the UG1 hydrometeorological station demonstrates a significant increase from 1959 to 2018 with a large interannual fluctuation,which is inversely correlated with the glacier's mass balance.This study analyzes on the changes in glacier zones,mass balance,area and length,and streamflow in the nival glacial catchment over the past 60 years.It provides critical insight into the processes and mechanisms of glacier recession in response to climate change.The results are not only representative of those glaciers in the Tianshan mountains,but also for the continental-type throughout the world.The direct observation data form an essential basis for evaluating mountain glacier changes and the impact of glacier shrinkage on water resources in the interior drainage rivers within the vast arid and semi-arid land in northwestern China as well as Central Asia. | ZhongQin Li HuiLin Li ChunHai Xu YuFeng Jia FeiTeng Wang PuYu Wang XiaoYing Yue | 2020 | Research in Cold and Arid Regions2020,12,6: | 2 |
| 12 | Physico-chemical Characteristics and Environmental Significance of Snow Deposition on Haxilegen Glacier No.51 in Tian Shan,China显示文摘Snow chemistry on the glaciers of alpine regions is a good indicator of atmospheric environmental change.We examine snow chemistry in three snowpits at different altitudes on the Haxilegen Glacier No.51,in the Kuitun River source,Tian Shan,China,during July-September 2004 to 2007.We use correlation analysis,factor analysis and sea-salt tracing methods to examine the characteristics and sources of major ions and mineral dust particles in the snow.Results show that mineral dust particles and major ions in the snow pits vary seasonally.During the Asian dust period in springtime,the concentration of mineral dust particles and major ions deposited in snow is high,while the concentration is relatively low during the non-dust period of summer and autumn.This may be caused by dust storm activity in central Asia.The order of major ionic concentrations in the snow packs was determined to be Ca2+ > SO42-> NH4+ > NO3-> Cl-> Na+ > Mg2+ > K+.Ca2+ was the dominant cation;SO42- was the dominant anion.We find,with the exception of NO3-,that the variabilities of ionic concentrations are highly correlated.Results show that the glacier region was significantly affected by dust activity and anthropogenic source.The major ions,especially Na+,originate from dust sources of central Asia and from the Ocean,transported by the westerly winds. | DONG Zhiwen LI Zhongqin ZHANG Mingjun WANG Feiteng WU Lihua | 2011 | Journal of Mountain Science2011,8,3: | 2 |

| 16 | Effect of inlet-valve structures on thrust of airbreathing pulse detonation engines显示文摘Experimental studies were conducted in order to improve the understanding of the thrust generation and the pressure/flame reverse propagation of the air-breathing pulse detonation engines(APDEs)with self-designed inlets and valves structures.The present experimental research utilized a gasoline/air APDE(with 68 mm inner-diameter,2050 mm length and maximum operating frequency not less than 40 Hz which was as a benchmark structure)at different operating frequencies,with freestream air inflow of 1.1 atm and 0℃.The theoretical equivalence ratio of gasoline/air was 1.Two kinds of inlets with centerbody or without were considered and combined with two kinds of self-designed valves(the elastic-valve and the convergent aero-valve)specially designed for comparative experiments.During the test,the inflow parameters,the pressure along the longitudinal direction inside the engine and the thrust force were measured for the APDE operating characteristic analysis,including the detonation combustion,the aerodynamic drag,the pressure/flame reverse propagation and the thrust generation.The research results indicate that:The inlet centerbody does not increase drag but plays a positive effect on airflow stability and operation matching.The elastic-valve and the convergent aero-valve,though increase the inlet aerodynamic drag,have obvious effects on suppressing the detonation wave and pressure forward propagation,resulting in effective thrust increase.Effects of the convergent aero-valve are the best when the flow choked,while the effects of elastic-valve are better and continuously stable in a wider range of frequency.The wmaximum nondimensional thrust increases with the elastic-valve is reached about 1.12 at the frequency of 8-9 Hz,and about 0.97 with the convergent aero-valve at the frequency of 7 Hz.The maximum fuel specific impulse is 2514.6 s when using the convergent aerovalve.And this study provides technical reserve for the APDE optimization design. | Wenjuan Chen Wei Fan Feiteng Luo Gaohu Tang Yaosong Long | 2021 | Propulsion and Power Research2021,10,4: | 1 |

| 20 | Impact of age and tumor size on the development of the Kasabach-Merritt phenomenon in patients with kaposiform hemangioendothelioma:a retrospective cohort study显示文摘Introduction The Kasabach–Merritt phenomenon(KMP)is a severe complication of kaposiform hemangioendothelioma(KHE).The risk factors for KMP need further investigation.Methods The medical records of patients with KHE were reviewed.Univariate and multivariate logistic regression models were used for the risk factors for KMP,and the area under the receiver operator characteristic(ROC)curve was used to assess the predictive power of risk factors.Results A total of 338 patients with KHE were enrolled.The incidence of KMP was 45.9%.Age of onset(P<0.001,odds ratio[OR]0.939;95%confidence interval[CI]0.914–0.966),lesion size(P<0.001,OR 1.944;95%CI 1.646–2.296),mixed type(P=0.030,OR 2.428;95%CI 1.092–5.397),deep type(P=0.010,OR 4.006;95%CI 1.389–11.556),and mediastinal or retroperitoneal lesion location(P=0.019,OR 11.864;95%CI 1.497–94.003)were correlated with KMP occurrence through multivariate logistic regression.ROC curve analysis revealed that the optimal cutoffs were 4.75 months for the age of onset(P<0.001,OR 7.206,95%CI 4.073–12.749)and a lesion diameter of 5.35 cm(P<0.001,OR 11.817,95%CI 7.084–19.714).Bounded by a lesion size of 5.35 cm,we found significant differences in tumor morphology,age of onset,treatments,and hematological parameters.Using an onset age of 4.75 months as a cutoff,we found significant differences in tumor morphology,lesion size,hematological parameters,and prognosis.Conclusion For KHE patients with an onset age<4.75 months and/or lesion diameter>5.35 cm,clinicians should be wary of the occurrence of KMP.Active management is recommended to improve the prognosis. | Jiangyuan Zhou Yuru Lan Tong Qiu Xue Gong Zixin Zhang Chunshui He Qiang Peng Fan Hu Xuepeng Zhang Guoyan Lu Liqing Qiu Feiteng Kong Yongbo Zhang Siyuan Chen Yi Ji | 2023 | Precision Clinical Medicine2023,6,2: | 0 |
