1A semi-spring and semi-edge combined contact model in CDEM and its application to analysis of Jiweishan landslide显示文摘Continuum-based discrete element method(CDEM)is an explicit numerical method used for simulation of progressive failure of geological body.To improve the efficiency of contact detection and simplify the calculation steps for contact forces,semi-spring and semi-edge are introduced in calculation.Semispring is derived from block vertex,and formed by indenting the block vertex into each face(24semisprings for a hexahedral element).The formation process of semi-edge is the same as that of semi-spring(24semi-edges for a hexahedral element).Based on the semi-springs and semi-edges,a new type of combined contact model is presented.According to this model,six contact types could be reduced to two,i.e.the semi-spring target face contact and semi-edge target edge contact.By the combined model,the contact force could be calculated directly(the information of contact type is not necessary),and the failure judgment could be executed in a straightforward way(each semi-spring and semi-edge own their characteristic areas).The algorithm has been successfully programmed in C++program.Some simple numerical cases are presented to show the validity and accuracy of this model.Finally,the failure mode,sliding distance and critical friction angle of Jiweishan landslide are studied with the combined model.Chun Feng Shihai Li Xiaoyu Liu Yanan Zhang 2014Journal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering2014,6,1:34

3Study on gastric cancer blood plasma based on surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy combined with multivariate analysis显示文摘A surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) method combined with multivariate analysis was developed for non-invasive gastric cancer detection. SERS measurements were performed on two groups of blood plasma samples: one group from 32 gastric patients and the other group from 33 healthy volunteers. Tentative assignments of the Raman bands in the measured SERS spectra suggest interesting cancer-specific biomolecular changes, including an increase in the relative amounts of nucleic acid, collagen, phospholipids and phenylalanine and a decrease in the percentage of amino acids and saccharide in the blood plasma of gastric cancer patients as compared with those of healthy subjects. Principal components analysis (PCA) and linear discriminant analysis (LDA) were employed to develop effective diagnostic algorithms for classification of SERS spectra between normal and cancer plasma with high sensitivity (79.5%) and specificity (91%). A receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve was employed to assess the accuracy of diagnostic algorithms based on PCA-LDA. 4Inulin Can Alleviate Metabolism Disorders in ob/ob Mice by Partially Restoring Leptinrelated Pathways Mediated by Gut Microbiota显示文摘Inulin has been used as a prebiotic to alleviate glucose and lipid metabolism disorders in mice and humans by modulating the gut microbiota. However, the mechanism underlying the alleviation of metabolic disorders by inulin through interactions between the gut microbiota and host cells is unclear. We use ob/ob mice as a model to study the effect of inulin on the cecal microbiota by16 S rRNA gene amplicon sequencing and its interaction with host cells by transcriptomics. The inulin-supplemented diet improved glucose and lipid metabolism disorder parameters in ob/ob mice,alleviating fat accumulation and glucose intolerance. The a diversity of gut microbial community of ob/ob mice was reduced after inulin treatment, while the b diversity tended to return to the level of wild type mice. Interestingly, Prevotellaceae UCG 001(family Prevotellaceae) was obviously enriched after inulin treatment. A comparative analysis of the gene expression profile showed that the cecal transcriptome was changed in leptin gene deficiency mice, whereas the inulin-supplemented diet partially reversed the changes in leptin gene-related signaling pathways, especially AMPK signaling pathway, where the levels of gene expression became comparable to those in wild type mice.Further analysis indicated that Prevotellaceae UCG 001 was positively correlated with the AMPK signaling pathway, which was negatively correlated with markers of glycolipid metabolism disorders. 5Thermo-hydro-mechanical coupled mathematical model for controlling the pre-mining coal seam gas extraction with slotted boreholes显示文摘Drainage influence radius is the basic parameter for borehole arrangement, while the effect of high pressure water jet slotting technology on borehole drainage influence radius has not been studied systematically. In this paper, a fully thermo-hydro-mechanical(THM) coupled model which represents the non-linear responses of gas extraction was implemented to demonstrate the reliability of this model through history data matching. Based on this model, the susceptibilities of gas extraction with single slotted borehole, including the permeability, the gas pressure, the temperature, the coal adsorption characteristics and the radius of slot, were quantified through a series of simulations. The simulation results revealed that increasing the permeability, initial gas pressure and temperature could develop the influence radius of single slotted borehole. 6High-speed image reconstruction for optically sectioned,super-resolution structured illumination microscopy显示文摘Super-resolution structured illumination microscopy(SR-SIM)is an outstanding method for visualizing the subcellular dynamics in living cells.To date,by using elaborately designed systems and algorithms,SR-SIM can achieve rapid,optically sectioned,SR observation with hundreds to thousands of time points.However,real-time observation is still out of reach for most SIM setups as conventional algorithms for image reconstruction involve a heavy computing burden.To address this limitation,an accelerated reconstruction algorithm was developed by implementing a simplified workflow for SR-SIM,termed joint space and frequency reconstruction.This algorithm results in an 80-fold improvement in reconstruction speed relative to the widely used Wiener-SIM.Critically,the increased processing speed does not come at the expense of spatial resolution or sectioning capability,as demonstrated by live imaging of microtubule dynamics and mitochondrial tubulation.Zhaojun Wang Tianyu Zhao Huiwen Hao Yanan Cai Kun Feng Xue Yun Yansheng Liang Shaowei Wang Yujie Sun Piero RBianco Kwangsung Oh Ming Lei 2022Advanced Photonics2022,4,2:9
7Visco-elastic-plastic model of deep underground rock affected by temperature and humidity显示文摘As the depth of exploitation increases,studies on constitutive models of rock affected by temperature and humidity become very important.Based on the Nishihara model,a visco-elastic-plastic rock model was established by using the coefficients of thermal and humidity expansion,thermal viscosity attenuation,humid viscosity attenuation and acceleration rheology components.We used the definition of a controlled heat circle to explain the model.The results show that the behavior of rock,affected by temperature and humidity,is stable as a function of time when the stress is lower than the first yield stress σS1;the creep rate will increase due to the effect of temperature and humidity when the stress is greater than or equal to σS1;the creep rate will accelerate at an increasing rate when the stress is greater than or equal to the second yield stress σS2,which results in a failure of the roadway.The model derived in this study can completely describe visco-elastic-plastic characteristics and reflects the three stages of rock creep.GAO, Yanan GAO, Feng ZHANG, Zhizhen ZHANG, Tao 2010Mining Science and Technology2010,20,2:9

9Nine compounds from the root bark of Lycium chinense and their anti-inflammatory activities显示文摘Two new compounds, named lyciumlignan D(1) and lyciumphenyl propanoid A(2), along with seven known compounds, were isolated from the root bark of Lycium chinense. Their structures were elucidated using spectroscopic data(UV, IR, HR-ESI-MS, 1D and 2D NMR, CD), as well as by comparison with those of the literature. Compounds 3–9 were isolated from this genus for the first time. 10Bioactive thionic compounds and aromatic glycosides from Ligusticum chuanxiong显示文摘Three new thionic compounds,(S)-2-(2-carboxyl-2-hydroxyethylthio)-ferulic acid(1),(E)-2-methoxy-4-(3-(methylsulfonyl)prop-1-en-1-yl)phenol(2), and thiosenkyunolide C(3), together with two new aromatic glycosides(4 and 5) were isolated from the rhizome of Ligusticum chuanxiong Hort. Two known compounds(6 and 7) were also obtained. Their structures were elucidated based on extensive spectroscopic data(UV, IR, 1D and 2D NMR, and HR-ESI-MS). Furthermore the absolute configurations were established by comparison of their calculated and experimental circular dichroism spectra and by a dimolybdenum tetraacetate [Mo_2(AcO)_4]-induced circular dichroism procedure. All compounds were evaluated against lipopolysaccharide(LPS)-induced NO production in BV2 cells, and compounds 4 and 5 showed strong inhibitory activities with IC_(50) values of 2.03 and 3.09 μmol/L, respectively(positive control curcumin, IC_(50)=6.17 μmol/L). 11Primed macrophages directly and specifically reject allografts显示文摘Monocytes and macrophages have long been associated with acute and chronic allograft rejection;this is mediated by their abilities to promote inflammation,kill target cells via antibody-dependent cytotoxicity and modulate adaptive immunity.Our present study showed that allogeneic antigen-primed macrophages acutely rejected skin grafts with specificity after adoptive transfer into MHC-matched immunodeficient mice.The ability of primed macrophages to reject allografts essentially requires the help of CD4^(+) T cells and does not require the help of CD8^(+) T cells.Moreover,the primed,perforin-deficient macrophages rejected the skin grafts in a significantly delayed pattern compared with WT macrophages,indicating that the perforin pathway of the primed macrophages is likely involved in the rejection process.Thus,primed macrophages are endowed with adaptive immunitylike features,such as specificity,with the help of CD4^(+) T cells during the immune response to allografts.The present study challenges our traditional views of macrophage functions and highlights the biological functions of macrophages beyond innate immunity in mammals.Zhulang Chu Chenming Sun Lina Sun Chang Feng Fan Yang Yanan Xu Yong Zhao 2020Cellular & Molecular Immunology2020,17,3:4

14Geniposide, the component of the Chinese herbal formula Tongluojiunao, protects amyloid-β peptide(1–42)-mediated death of hippocampal neurons via the non-classical estrogen signaling pathway显示文摘Tongluojiunao(TLJN) is an herbal medicine consisting of two main components, geniposide and ginsenoside Rg1. TLJN has been shown to protect primary cultured hippocampal neurons. However, its mechanism of action remains unclear. In the present study, primary cultured hippocampal neurons treated with Aβ1–42(10 μmol/L) significantly increased the release of lactate dehydrogenase, which was markedly reduced by TLJN(2 μL/mL), specifically by the component geniposide(26 μmol/L), but not ginsenoside Rg1(2.5 μmol/L). The estrogen receptor inhibitor, ICI182780(1 μmol/L), did not block TLJN- or geniposide-mediated decrease of lactate dehydrogenase under Aβ1–42-exposed conditions. However, the phosphatidyl inositol 3-kinase or mitogen-activated protein kinase pathway inhibitor, LY294002(50 μmol/L) or U0126(10 μmol/L), respectively blo cked the decrease of lactate dehydrogenase mediated by TLJN or geniposide. 15Nontargeted identification of peptides and disinfection byproducts in water显示文摘A broad range of organic compounds are known to exist in drinking water sources and serve as precursors of disinfection byproducts(DBPs).Epidemiological findings of an association of increased risk of bladder cancer with the consumption of chlorinated water has resulted in health concerns about DBPs.Peptides are thought to be an important category of DBP precursors in water.However,little is known about the actual presence of peptides and their DBPs in drinking water because of their high sample complexity and low concentrations.To address this challenge and identify peptides and non-chlorinated/chlorinated peptide DBPs from large sets of organic compounds in water,we developed a novel high throughput analysis strategy,which integrated multiple solid phase extraction(SPE),high performance liquid chromatography(HPLC)separation,and non-target identification using precursor ion exclusion(PIE)high resolution mass spectrometry(MS).After MS analysis,structures of candidate compounds,particularly peptides,were obtained by searching against the Human Metabolome Database(HMDB).Using this strategy,we successfully detected 625 peptides(out of 17,205 putative compounds)and 617 peptides(out of 13,297)respectively in source and finished water samples.The source and finished water samples had 501 peptides and amino acids in common.The remaining 116 peptides and amino acids were unique to the finished water.From a subset of 30 putative compounds for which standards were available,25 were confirmed using HPLC-MS analysis.By analyzing the peptides identified in source and finished water,we successfully confirmed three disinfection reaction pathways that convert peptides into toxic DBPs.Yanan Tang Ying Xu Feng Li Lindsay Jmaiff Steve E.Hrudey Xing-Fang Li 2016Journal of Environmental Sciences2016,28,4:3
16Microstructure Evolution and Pore Formation Mechanism of Porous TiAl3 Intermetallics via Reactive Sintering显示文摘Porous TiAl_3 intermetallics were fabricated through vacuum reactive sintering from Ti–75 Al at.% elemental powder mixture. The phase compositions, expansion behaviors, pore characteristics and microstructure evolution of TiAl_3 intermetallics were investigated, and the pore formation mechanism was also proposed. It was found that the actual temperature of compacts showed an acute climb from 668 to 1244 °C in 166 s, while the furnace temperature maintained the linear growth of 5 °C/min, which indicated that an obvious thermal explosion(TE) reaction occurred during sintering,and only single-phase TiAl_3 intermetallic was synthesized in TE products. The open porosity increased from 22.2(green compact) to 32.8% after reactive diffusion sintering at 600 °C and rised to 58.7% after TE, then decreased to 51.2% after high-temperature homogenization at 1100 °C. Therefore, TE reaction is the dominated pore formation mechanism of porous TiAl_3 intermetallics. The pore evolution in porous TiAl_3 intermetallics occurred by the following mechanisms:certain intergranular pores remained among powder particles of green compact, then low-temperature sintering resulted in a further increase in porosity due to the Kirkendall effect. 17Catalytic depolymerization of calcium lignosulfonate by NiMgFeO_x derived from sub-micron sized NiMgFe hydrotalcite prepared by introducing hydroxyl compounds显示文摘A new method for regulating the synthesis of Ni Mg Fe hydrotalcites(NMF LDHs) with the addition of hydroxyl compounds was proposed. A series of NMF LDHs were prepared by the above method, and then were calcined to obtain the Ni Mg FeOx(NMFOx) samples. The NMFOxsamples were characterized by XRD,SEM, TG-DTG, XPS and CO2-TPD, respectively. The catalytic performance of NMFOxfor depolymerizing calcium lignosulfonate(CLS) was evaluated by hydrothermal reaction. The results showed that the addition of hydroxyl compounds favored reducing the particle sizes of NMF LDHs. For the depolymerization of CSL, the yield of liquid product increased from 45% to 75.8% with the addition of NMFOx-ethanol(NMFOxET). The liquid products were mainly phenolics, aromatics, ketones and esters. The total selectivity of oxy-containing compounds was over 90.6%, among them, the phenolics were approximately 35.2%. The valence of Ni and Fe, crystalline phase and basicity almost remained unchanged. 20Rock creep modeling based on discontinuous deformation analysis显示文摘Creep is one of the major problems of deep underground mining that must be studied theoretically,experimentally,and numerically over a long period.Experiments and feld tests are methods which can directly and more accurately describe the engineering practices as compared with others.However,these approaches are also time-consuming because creep problem of rock engineering,such as the roadway/tunnel squeezing phenomenon,usually lasts from several months to a few years.A numerical method can be employed to overcome this time-consuming problem.The discontinuous deformation analysis(DDA)method was originated in 1984 and received considerable attention from geo-engineers and researchers.The current paper discusses the creep calculation methods using the continuous and the discontinuous methods,and proposes a creep analysis method based on DDA.The method proposed in this paper can directly change the stiffness matrix while inheriting the advantages of the original DDA.Applying this method does not require any changes in the contact part of DDA.Thus,this method does not have any effect on the open–close iteration and convergence and can solve the creep problem,while maintaining the advantages of the original DDA.We theorized that creep problems are static problems,and based on this,the work using DDA in this study was divided into two parts:(1)addition of a new loop for the original DDA to‘‘discredited’’the total creep time into several time elements,thereby changing the material properties in each time element;and(2)division of each of the time elements by the time steps,similar to the original DDA.In this manner,one creep problem can be solved via assembling of static problems.Afterwards,the method mentioned above is employed to modeling a tunnel case.The evolution of the displacement fled and stress feld during creep are analyzed and discussed.Gao Yanan Gao Feng Manchu Ronald Yeung 2013International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2013,23,5:2
