1SOME ADVANCES IN CLIMATE WARMING IMPACT RESEARCH IN CHINA SINCE 1990显示文摘Increasing the concentration of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere will strengthen the natural greenhouse effect, which could lead to global climate warming and more other changes. China is a largely agricultural country with a large size of population and the relative shortages of farming lands and water resources, thus increasing the importance of climate warming for national economy development. Therefore. Chinese government and scientists have paid great attention to the impact-assessment of climate warming on national economy in China, especially during the past 10 years. This presentation will briefly describe some major issues of climate warming impact research on national vegetation, agriculture, forest, water resources, energy use and regional sea level for China, etc.As a result, all climate change scenarios derived by GCMs suggest a substantial change in thecharacteristic natural vegetation types. It is also shown that comparing with the distributionsimulated under thenormal time period 1951-1980 as the present climate, by 2050 large changesin cropping systems would occur almost everywhere in China. Climate warming would lead toincrease cropping diversification and multiplication. Unfortunately, the possible net balancebetween precipitation and evapotranspiration would be negativeand it would lead to reduce thegrain production in China significantly due to enhanced moisture stress in soil. The most evidentinfluence of climate warming on water resources would happen in Huanghe-Huaihe-Haihe Basin andthe water supply-demand deficit would be substantially enhanced in this area. And also, a warmerclimate for China will alter the energy requirement for domestic heating and cooling, that is,reduce energy use for heating in northern China and increase energy consumption for cooling insouthern China.WANG Futang(王馥棠) 2001Acta meteorologica Sinica2001,15,4:12
2Age–age correlations and early selection for growth traits in 40 half-sib families of Larix principis-rupprechtii显示文摘Larix principis-rupprechtii Mayr is a dominant species in coniferous forests of North China.However,early selection of L.principis-rupprechtii for growth traits is poorly characterised.To explore the optimal selection age for this species,heights(HT)and diameters at breast(DBH)of 40 half-sib families were measured at ages 3,12,22,and 28 years in a progeny test population established in the town of Kangjiahui,Shanxi Province.Age trends in heritability,age–age genetic correlations,and early selection efficiency for height and DBH were analysed.The individual heritability of these growth traits varied over time,and maximized at different ages(0.55 at age 12 for HT and 0.48 at age 28 for DBH).The age–age genetic correlations were always positive,and the majority were high(0.790–0.953)between the juvenile and mature ages for HT and DBH.For the same pairs of measurements,HT demonstrated higher age–age genetic correlations than DBH,and both age–age genetic correlation data sets were described well by the linear relationship with the logarithm of the age ratio(r2[0.90).The regression slope for DBH was lower than that for HT.Based on the early selection efficiency estimates,the optimal selection age could be as early as age 6 for DBH and 8–9 years for HT.The results of this study provide information that can be used to assist early selection practices in L.principis-rupprechtii improvement programs in Shanxi Province.Mingliang Dong Yingming Fan Zhihui Wu Futang Lv Jinfeng Zhang 2019Journal of Forestry Research2019,30,6:6

13Zipper head mechanism of telomere synthesis by human telomerase显示文摘Telomerase,a multi-subunit ribonucleoprotein complex,is a unique reverse transcriptase that catalyzes the processive addition of a repeat sequence to extend the telomere end using a short fragment of its own RNA component as the template.Despite recent structural characterizations of human and Tetrahymena telomerase,it is still a mystery how telomerase repeatedly uses its RNA template to synthesize telomeric DNA.Here,we report the cryo-EM structure of human telomerase holoenzyme bound with telomeric DNA at resolutions of 3.5 Åand 3.9 Åfor the catalytic core and biogenesis module,respectively.The structure reveals that a leucine residue Leu980 in telomerase reverse transcriptase(TERT)catalytic subunit functions as a zipper head to limit the length of the short primer–template duplex in the active center.Moreover,our structural and computational analyses suggest that TERT and telomerase RNA(hTR)are organized to harbor a preformed active site that can accommodate short primer–template duplex substrates for catalysis.Furthermore,our findings unveil a double-fingers architecture in TERT that ensures nucleotide addition processivity of human telomerase.We propose that the zipper head Leu980 is a structural determinant for the sequence-based pausing signal of DNA synthesis that coincides with the RNA element-based physical template boundary.Functional analyses unveil that the non-glycine zipper head plays an essential role in both telomerase repeat addition processivity and telomere length homeostasis.In addition,we also demonstrate that this zipper head mechanism is conserved in all eukaryotic telomerases.Together,our study provides an integrated model for telomerase-mediated telomere synthesis.Futang Wan Yongbo Ding Yuebin Zhang Zhenfang Wu Shaobai Li Lin Yang Xiangyu Yan Pengfei Lan Guohui Li Jian Wu Ming Lei 2021Cell Research2021,31,12:0
14A preliminary study on simplified simulation model of spring wheat growth显示文摘In the model developed in this paper, taking the characters and requirements of meteorological services into account, some conventional meteorological observations which are easy to be obtained have been ch.osen, and mathematical equations describing micro-growth processes of crops have been established on the basis of the field experiments, laboratorial analysis and computer’s modelling tests with time interval of ten-days for several years (1987-1989), in accordance with the known biological and physical rules and corresponding reference literatures. It is a preliminary simplified simulation model of spring wheat growth in optimal water and nutrient conditions. The field experiments show that simulation results of this simplified model are satisfactory.
