| 1 | An aerospace bracket designed by thermo-elastic topology optimization and manufactured by additive manufacturing显示文摘Combination of topology optimization and additive manufacturing technologies provides an effective approach for the development of light-weight and high-performance structures.A heavy-loaded aerospace bracket is designed by topology optimization and manufactured by additive manufacturing technology in this work.Considering both mechanical forces and temperature loads,a formulation of thermo-elastic topology optimization is firstly proposed and the sensitivity analysis is derived in detail.Then the procedure of numerical optimization design is presented and the final design is additively manufactured using Selective Laser Melting(SLM).The mass of the aerospace bracket is reduced by over 18%,benefiting from topology and size optimization,and the three constraints are satisfied as well in the final design.This work indicates that the integration of thermo-elastic topology optimization and additive manufacturing technologies can be a rather powerful tool kit for the design of structures under thermal-mechanical loading. | Guanghui SHI Chengqi GUAN Dongliang QUAN Dongtao WU Lei TANG Tong GAO | 2020 | Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2020,33,4: | 21 |
| 2 | Modular growth and clonal propagation of Hippophae rhamnoides subsp, sinensis in response to irrigation intensity显示文摘A multipurpose clone plant species,Hippophae rhamniodes has the capacity for indefinite longevity,although under successive drought stress it may often decline or die across large areas.Field trials were conducted over 2 years to examine the effects of varied irrigation intensities on modular growth and clonal propagation in a semi-arid area.Irrigation levels included a control,as well as two,four and six times the volume of water that was typically received via local annual average precipitation.Irrigation intensity significantly influenced clonal propagation capacity(number of daughter ramets),aboveground modular growth(height,base diameter,and crown width),belowground modular growth included root nodule dry weight,stretching capacity of lateral roots(length of the longest lateral roots,and diameter of firstgrade lateral roots),and branching intensity of lateral roots(number of lateral roots bifurcation grade,number of firstgrade lateral roots).The modular growth and the density of daughter ramets were small under non-irrigation or low irrigation,and became larger with increased irrigation intensity.Beyond a certain threshold,however,further increases in irrigation intensity resulted in a reversion to the development.The optimal irrigation intensities for growth and propagation were 3.48–5.29 times the volume of nominal local annual average precipitation.There were effects of irrigation intensities on the positive significant correlations between aboveground and belowground modular growths,and on clonal propagation capacities.Under various water treatments,H.rhamnoides may adapt to the environment through the regulation of growth and propagation.We concluded that water shortages act to weaken the growth and propagation of H.rhamniodes plantations. | Zilin Cao Tianjiang Li Genqian Li Chunhong Liu Haiyin Gao Guanghui Dai Zhiyong Xiao Sunling Li | 2016 | Journal of Forestry Research2016,27,5: | 14 |

| 4 | Carbon pools and fluxes in the China Seas and adjacent oceans显示文摘The China Seas include the South China Sea, East China Sea, Yellow Sea, and Bohai Sea. Located off the Northwestern Pacific margin, covering 4700000 km^2 from tropical to northern temperate zones, and including a variety of continental margins/basins and depths, the China Seas provide typical cases for carbon budget studies. The South China Sea being a deep basin and part of the Western Pacific Warm Pool is characterized by oceanic features; the East China Sea with a wide continental shelf, enormous terrestrial discharges and open margins to the West Pacific, is featured by strong cross-shelf materials transport; the Yellow Sea is featured by the confluence of cold and warm waters; and the Bohai Sea is a shallow semiclosed gulf with strong impacts of human activities. Three large rivers, the Yangtze River, Yellow River, and Pearl River, flow into the East China Sea, the Bohai Sea, and the South China Sea, respectively. The Kuroshio Current at the outer margin of the Chinese continental shelf is one of the two major western boundary currents of the world oceans and its strength and position directly affect the regional climate of China. These characteristics make the China Seas a typical case of marginal seas to study carbon storage and fluxes. This paper systematically analyzes the literature data on the carbon pools and fluxes of the Bohai Sea,Yellow Sea, East China Sea, and South China Sea, including different interfaces(land-sea, sea-air, sediment-water, and marginal sea-open ocean) and different ecosystems(mangroves, wetland, seagrass beds, macroalgae mariculture, coral reefs, euphotic zones, and water column). Among the four seas, the Bohai Sea and South China Sea are acting as CO_2 sources, releasing about0.22 and 13.86–33.60 Tg C yr^(-1) into the atmosphere, respectively, whereas the Yellow Sea and East China Sea are acting as carbon sinks, absorbing about 1.15 and 6.92–23.30 Tg C yr^(-1) of atmospheric CO_2, respectively. Overall, if only the CO_2 exchange at the sea-air interface is considered, the Chinese marginal seas appear to be a source of atmospheric CO_2, with a net release of 6.01–9.33 Tg C yr^(-1), mainly from the inputs of rivers and adjacent oceans. The riverine dissolved inorganic carbon (DIC) input into the Bohai Sea and Yellow Sea, East China Sea, and South China Sea are 5.04, 14.60, and 40.14 Tg C yr^(-1),respectively. The DIC input from adjacent oceans is as high as 144.81 Tg C yr^(-1), significantly exceeding the carbon released from the seas to the atmosphere. In terms of output, the depositional fluxes of organic carbon in the Bohai Sea, Yellow Sea, East China Sea, and South China Sea are 2.00, 3.60, 7.40, and 5.92 Tg C yr^(-1), respectively. The fluxes of organic carbon from the East China Sea and South China Sea to the adjacent oceans are 15.25–36.70 and 43.93 Tg C yr^(-1), respectively. The annual carbon storage of mangroves, wetlands, and seagrass in Chinese coastal waters is 0.36–1.75 Tg C yr^(-1), with a dissolved organic carbon(DOC) output from seagrass beds of up to 0.59 Tg C yr^(-1). Removable organic carbon flux by Chinese macroalgae mariculture account for 0.68 Tg C yr^(-1) and the associated POC depositional and DOC releasing fluxes are 0.14 and 0.82 Tg C yr^(-1), respectively. Thus, in total, the annual output of organic carbon, which is mainly DOC, in the China Seas is 81.72–104.56 Tg C yr^(-1). The DOC efflux from the East China Sea to the adjacent oceans is 15.00–35.00 Tg C yr^(-1). The DOC efflux from the South China Sea is 31.39 Tg C yr^(-1). | 7 | Origin, evolution, and molecular function of DELLA proteins in plants显示文摘Gibberellic acid(GA), a ubiquitous phytohormone, has various effects on regulators of plant growth and development. GAs promote growth by overcoming growth restraint mediated by DELLA proteins(DELLAs). DELLAs, in the GRAS family of plant-specific nuclear proteins, are nuclear transcriptional regulators harboring a unique N-terminal GA perception region for binding the GA receptor GIBBERELLIN INSENSITIVE DWARF1(GID1) and a C-terminal GRAS domain necessary for GA repression activity via interaction with multiple regulatory proteins. The N-terminal conserved region of DELLAs evolved to form a mode of GID1/DELLA-mediated GA signaling originating in bryophytes and ferns. Binding of GA to GID1 increases the affinity between DELLAs and a SCF E3 ubiquitin–ligase complex, thus promoting the eventual destruction of DELLAs by the 26 S proteasome. DELLAs negatively regulate GA response by releasing transcription factors to directly activate downstream genes and indirectly regulate GA biosynthesis genes increasing GA responsiveness and feedback control by promoting GID1 transcription. GA communicates extensively with other plant hormones and uses crosstalk to regulate plant growth and development. | 11 | Carbon uptake and change in net primary productivity of oasis-desert ecosystem in arid western China with remote sensing technique显示文摘Arid and semi-arid ecosystems exhibit a spatially complex biogeophysical structure. According to arid western special climate-vegetation characters, the fractional cover of photosynthetic vegetation (PV), non-photosynthetic vegetation (NPV), bare soil and water are unmixed, using the remote sensing spectral mixture analysis. We try the method to unmix the canopy funation structure of arid land cover in order to avoid the differentiation of regional vegetation system and the disturbance of environmental background. We developed a modified production efficiency model NPP-PEM appropriate for the arid area at regional scale based on the concept of radiation use efficiency. This model refer to the GLO-PEM and CASA model was driven with remotely sensed observations, and calculates not just the conversion efficiency of absorbed photosynthetically active radiation but also the carbon fluxes that determine net primary productivity (NPP). We apply and validate the model in the Kaxger and Yarkant river basins in arid western China. The NPP of the study area in 1992 and 1998 was estimated based on the NPP-PEM model. The results show that the improved PEM model, considering the photosynthetical activation of heterogeneous functional vegetation, is in good agreement with field measurements and the existing literature. An accurate agreement (R2 = 0.85, P<0.001) between the estimates and the ground-based measurement was obtained. The spatial distribution of mountain-oasis-desert ecosystem shows an obvious heterogeneous carbon uptake. | 18 | Facile one-pot emulsion/sol-gel method for preparing wrinkled silica microspheres显示文摘The present manuscript describes a facile and versatile method for preparing uniform wrinkled silica microspheres with diameters of tens of microns.The method comprises a one-pot emulsion/sol-gel method using silica precursors of organosilane and tetraethoxysilane.By controlling the sol-to-gel transition of the silica precursors,a series of silica microspheres based on uniform emulsion droplets was synthesized by membrane emulsification.The silica microspheres had a variety of surface morphologies ranging from smooth,maze-like wrinkles to polygon-like ravines.It was possible to alter the surface morphologies of the microspheres by controlling the amount of organosilane in the dispersed phase and the amount of ammonia catalyst in the continuous phase of the emulsion.The grooves on the wrinkled microspheres were able to trap polymer nanoparticles of matching size,thereby demonstrating the potential usefulness of the microspheres in separation science and drug delivery. | Yuning Hu Dongxia Hao Fangling Gong Yuanyuan Gao Xingran Yan Guanghui Ma | 2021 | Particuology2021,19,3: | 2 |
| 19 | Crystallization Behavior of High Purity Fused Magnesia显示文摘The chemical composition and microstructure of Tibetan microcrystalline magnesite were studied by means of XRF,XRD and FESEM. It is found that the microcrystalline magnesite has uniformly distributed grains,mostly in the range of 2-4 μm,and the MgO content is47. 80%. In fused magnesia,the druses are colorless transparent periclase megacrysts without impurity,while the crust sand is white,with a high MgO content up to97%-99%. The periclase crystals are big,appearing as faced and step-growth morphology. | 20 | Shallow Genetic Structure of Pholis fangi in Bohai Sea and Yellow Sea Inferred from mt DNA Control Region显示文摘Pholis fangi is an ecologically important fish species inhabiting Chinese coastal waters of Yellow Sea and Bohai Sea. To investigate the genetic diversity and population genetic structure of P. fangi, a fragment of 487 bp in the first hypervariable region (HVR-1) of the mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) control region was sequenced for 181 individuals collected from Bohai Sea and Yel- low Sea. A total of 18 polymorphic sites were detected, which defined 25 haplotypes. A moderate level of haplotype diversity (h = 0.7052) and a low level of nucleotide diversity (π= 0.0028) were detected. Both the phylogenetic tree and the haplotype network showed no significant genealogical structure difference among sampling locations. Pairwise FST comparison and hierarchical mo- lecular variance analysis (AMOVA) revealed that no significant genetic structure difference existed throughout the investigated re- gions, suggesting a high gene exchange among different populations. The results of neutrality test and mismatch distribution analysis indicated that a late Pleistocene population expansion (38000 127000 years ago) happened.
