| 3 | Cytoplasmic and nuclear genome variations of rice hybrids and their parents inform the trajectory and strategy of hybrid rice breeding显示文摘The male sterility(MS)line is a prerequisite for efficient production of hybrid seeds in rice,a self-pollinating species.MS line breeding is pivotal for hybrid rice improvement.Understanding the historical breeding tra-jectory will help to improve hybrid rice breeding strategies.Maternally inherited cytoplasm is an appro-priate tool for phylogenetic reconstruction and pedigree tracing in rice hybrids.In this study,we analyzed the cytoplasmic genomes of 1495 elite hybrid rice varieties and identified five major types of cytoplasm,which correspond to different hybrid production systems.As the cytoplasm donors for hybrids,461 MS lines were also divided into five major types based on cytoplasmic and nuclear genomic architecture.Spe-cific core accessions cooperating with different fertility-associated genes drove the sequence divergence of MS lines.Dozens to hundreds of convergent and divergent selective sweeps spanning several agro-nomic trait-associated genes were identified among different types of MS lines.We further analyzed the cross patterns between different types of MS lines and their corresponding restorers.This study system-atically analyzed the cytoplasmic genomes of rice hybrids revealed their relationships with nuclear ge-nomes of MS lines,and illustrated the trajectory of hybrid rice breeding and the strategies for breeding different types of MS lines providing new insights for future improvement of hybrid rice. | Zhoulin Gu Zhou Zhu Zhen Li Qilin Zhan Qi Feng Congcong Zhou Qiang Zhao Yan Zhao Xiaojian Peng Bingxin Dai Rongrong Sun Yan Li Hengyun Lu Lei Zhang Tao Huang Junyi Gong Danfeng Lv Xuehui Huang Bin Han | 2021 | Molecular Plant2021,14,12: | 2 |

| 9 | Fine mapping of qHUS6.1,a quantitative trait locus for silicon content in rice(Oryza sativa L.)显示文摘Silicon is essential for optimal growth of rice(Oryza sativa L.).This study was conducted to fine map qHUS6.1,a quantitative trait locus(QTL) for rice hull silicon content previously located in the interval RM510-RM19417 on the short arm of chromosome 6,and to analyze the effect of this QTL on the silicon content in different organs of rice.Selfed progenies of a residual heterozygous line of rice were detected using 13 microsatellite markers in the vicinity of qHUS6.1.Three plants with overlapping heterozygous segments were selected.Three sets of near isogenic lines(NILs) were developed from the selfed progenies of the 3 plants.They were grown in a paddy field and the silicon contents of the hull,flag leaf,and stem were measured at maturity.Based on analyses of the phenotypic distribution and variance among different genotypic groups in the same NIL set,a significant genotypic effect was shown in the NIL set that was heterogenous in the interval RM19410-RM5815,whereas a significant effect was not found in the remaining 2 NIL sets that were heterogenous in either of the intervals RM4923-RM19410 or RM19417-RM204.On comparison among the physical positions of the 3 heterogenous segments,qHUS6.1 was delimited to a 64.2-kb region flanked by RM19410 and RM19417 that contains nine annotated genes according to the genome sequence of Nipponbare.This QTL showed strong effects on all of the three traits tested,and the enhancing alleles were always derived from the paternal line Milyang 46.The present study will facilitate the cloning of qHUS6.1 and the exploration of new genetic resources for QTL fine mapping. | GONG JunYi WU JiRong WANG Kai FAN YeYang ZHUANG JieYun | 2010 | Chinese Science Bulletin2010,55,29: | 1 |

| 12 | Genetic variants in the Hedgehog signaling pathway genes are associated with gastric cancer risk in a Chinese Han population显示文摘The Hedgehog signaling pathway participates in the occurrence and progression of cancers including gastric cancer.We conducted this study to evaluate whether genetic variants in the Hedgehog signaling pathway genes would affect gastric cancer risk.Multi-marker Analysis of GenoMic Annotation(MAGMA)was used to investigate the aggregated genetic effects of single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs)assigned to candidate genes.The relationship between SNPs and gastric cancer risk was estimated by multivariate logistic regression analyses.Gene expression was calculated using databases obtained from The Cancer Genome Atlas(TCGA)and The Gene Expression Omnibus(GEO).Kaplan‐Meier plotter was used to evaluate the association between gene expression with gastric cancer survival.Tumor Immune Estimation Resource 2.0(TIMER 2.0)was applied to determine the correlation between selected gene expression and the immune cell infiltration degree.We identified that the G allele of rs2990912 in KIF27 was associated with higher gastric cancer risk,especially in the young and male subgroups.The expression of KIF27 in gastric cancer tissues was higher than that in normal tissues,leading to poor survival in gastric cancer patients.Besides,KIF27 expression was related to immune cell infiltration and positively correlated with PD-L1 expression.Our findings highlight the key role of genetic variation in the Hedgehog signaling pathway genes in gastric cancer susceptibility,which may provide important insights into the diagnosis,prognosis,and treatment of gastric cancer. | Yujuan Zhang Kai Lu Xu Wu Hanting Liu Junyi Xin Xiaowei Wang Weida Gong Qinghong Zhao Meilin Wang Haiyan Chu Mulong Du Guoquan Tao Zhengdong Zhang | 2022 | The Journal of Biomedical Research2022,36,1: | 1 |

| 17 | Red-emitting salicylaldehyde Schiff base with AIE behaviour and large Stokes shift显示文摘Three salicylaldehyde Schiff base(SSB), iso-PBP, PBP and EPB, were facilely synthesized and exhibited aggregation-induced emission. The introduction of C= N-N = C moiety in these SSB dyes largely extend the conjugation system and push their emission to yellow to red spectral region. These SSB dyes were negligibly fluorescent in dilute THF solution. In THF/water mixtures with high water fractions, they displayed strong yellow to red fluorescence(up to 617nm) and large Stokes shifts(up to 152 nm). Single crystal analysis on EBP showed the longer emission of in aggregated state was attributed to the molecular packing effect as compared with that in dilute solution.
