1Electrospun CNT embedded ZnO nanofiber based biosensor for electrochemical detection of Atrazine: a step closure to single molecule detection显示文摘In this study we have reported the design and development of a facile,sensitive,selective,and label-free electrochemical sensing platform for the detection of atrazine based on MWCNT-embedded ZnO nanofibers.Electrospun nanofibers were characterized using scanning electron microscope(SEM),transmission electron microscope(TEM),X-ray diffraction(XRD),X-ray photoelectron spectroscope(XPS),UV-Visible spectroscope(UV-VIS),and Fourier-transform infrared spectroscope(FTIR).Electrochemical properties of MWCNT-ZnO nanofiber-modified electrodes were assessed using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS)and cyclic voltammetry(CV).Binding event of atrazine to anti-atrazine antibody,which immobilized on nanofiber-modified electrode via EDC and NHS chemistry,was transduced with EIS.Due to high conductivity,surface area,and low bandgap of MWCNT-ZnO nanofibers,we have achieved the sensitivity and limit of detection(LoD)of sensor as 21.61(KΩμg^(−1) mL^(−1))cm^(−2) and 5.368zM for a wide detection range of 10 zM–1µM.The proposed immunosensing platform has good stability,selectivity,repeatability,and reproducibility,and are less prone to interference.Patta Supraja Vikrant Singh Siva Rama Krishna Vanjari Shiv Govind Singh 2020Microsystems & Nanoengineering2020,6,1:3
2Growth, photosynthesis and nitrogen metabolism in soybean varieties after exclusion of the UV-B and UV-A/B components of solar radiation显示文摘A field experiment was conducted to study the impact of the exclusion of the solar UV components on growth, photosynthesis and nitrogen metabolism in soybean(Glycine max)varieties PK-472, Pusa-24, JS 71-05, JS-335, NRC-7 and Kalitur. The plants were grown in specially designed UV exclusion chambers wrapped with filters to exclude UV-B or UV-A/B and transmitted all UV. Exclusion of UV significantly enhanced the growth of the aerial parts as well as the growth of the below ground parts in all of the six soybean varieties.Nitrate reductase activity(NRA) was significantly reduced, whereas leghemoglobin(Lb)content, total soluble protein, net photosynthesis(Pn) and α-tocopherol content were enhanced after UV exclusion. The exclusion of solar UV-A/B enhanced all parameters to a larger extent than the exclusion of solar UV-B in four of the six varieties of soybean except for NRC-7 and Kalitur. These two varieties responded more to UV-B exclusion compared to UV-A/B exclusion. A significant inverse correlation between the NRA and the number of nodules per plant was observed. The extent of response in all parameters was greater in PK-472 and JS71-05 than that in Kalitur and JS-335 after UV exclusion. The exclusion of UV augmented the growth of nodules, Lb content and α-tocopherol levels and conferred higher rates of Pnto support better growth of nodules. 9Who to screen and how to screen for celiac disease显示文摘Celiac disease(CeD)is a chronic gluten-induced enteropathy with plethoric manifestations.The typical manifestations of CeD such as chronic diarrhea and malabsorption are widely recognized,however,many patients have atypical manifestations like iron deficiency anemia,idiopathic short stature,hypertransaminesemia or infertility,etc.These patients often present to the primary care physicians and/or non-gastrointestinal specialties.However,due to a lack of awareness among the healthcare professionals about the various atypical manifestations,many patients are not screened for CeD.In this review,we have summarized the available literature about the prevalence of CeD in various gastrointestinal(chronic diarrhea)and non-gastrointestinal conditions(iron deficiency anemia,short stature,cryptogenic hypertransaminesemia,cryptogenic cirrhosis or idiopathic ataxia etc.)where the diagnosis of CeD should be considered.In addition,we also discuss special scenarios where screening for CeD should be considered even in absence of symptoms such as patients with type 1 diabetes,Down’s syndrome,and first-degree relatives of patients with CeD.Further,we discuss the diagnostic performance and limitations of various screening tests for CeD such as IgA anti-tissue transglutaminase antibodies,antiendomysial antibodies and anti-deamidated gliadin antibodies.Based on the current recommendations,we propose a diagnostic algorithm for patients with suspected CeD.Prashant Singh Achintya Dinesh Singh Vineet Ahuja Govind K Makharia 2022World Journal of Gastroenterology2022,28,32:0
10Factors affecting electric vehicle acceptance,energy demand and CO_(2)emissions in Pakistan显示文摘This work aims to investigate the factors accelerating electric vehicle(EV)acceptance at the consumer end in Pakistan and analyzes the implications for policymakers for a fast-track EV transition.The study further in-vestigates the high EV penetration scenario resulting from the technology acceptance model(TAM's 80%EV)and its impact on energy demand and CO_(2)emissions.The study design used a quantitative analysis method with the survey as an instrument for data collection regarding EV acceptance.The model under investigation was adapted from the famous Technology-Acceptance Models(TAMs)and modified with other significant predictors evidenced in the literature.Correlation and stepwise regression were performed with a multicollinearity check for model hypothesis testing.Out of six predictors,only four factors were significant in accelerating the EV transition.Financial policies were found to be highly significant,followed by environmental concern,facilitating conditions and perceived ease of use.The research then used exponential smoothing forecasts for transport demand and developed an EV penetration scenario based on modified TAM results.The results highlight the significant in-crease in transport demand and the opportunity for Pakistan to limit passenger transport emissions to 36.6 MT instead of 61.6 MT by 2040.Muhammad Huzaifa Butt Jai Govind Singh 2023Green Energy and Intelligent Transportation2023,2,3:0
11The effects of disturbance on forest structure and diversity at different altitudes in Garhwal Himalaya显示文摘The effects of disturbance on forest structure and diversity along an altitudinal gradient in the temperate,sub-tropical,and tropical regions of Garhwal Himalaya were assessed.Each region was further categorized into undisturbed(UD),mildly disturbed(MD),and highly disturbed(HD)sites on the basis of magnitude of disturbance in these forests.On UD sites of temperate,sub-tropical and tropical regions,Quercus leucotrichophora,Anogeissus latifolia and Holoptelea integrifolia were the dominant tree species respectively.The highest values of tree density(1028 ind·hm-2)and total basal cover at breast height(31.70 m2 ·hm-2)were recorded for UD site of temperate region,whereas maximum species diversity(3.128)and equitability(14.09)values were observed for HD site of tropical region.The structure and composition of the forests were greatly affected by the degree of disturbance.Munesh KUMAR Chandra Mohan SHARMA Govind Singh RA JWAR 2009生态学杂志2009,28,3:0
12Assessment of the carbon emissions reduction potential in Thailand’s power sector with high penetration of variable renewable energy sources and electric vehicles in the year 2030显示文摘The power sector has substantial carbon emissions reduction potential that could achieve the new nationally determined contribution target in 2030 by increasing low-carbon technologies,e.g.variable renewable energy sources and electric vehicles(EVs).Therefore,two approaches were suggested in this work.In the first approach,Thailand’s power sector was modelled by using PLEXOS software to find the impact of the high penetration of variable renewable energy(RE)and EV charging load for the projected year 2030.The second approach proposed a demand-response and energy storage system solution with carbon pricing in the model to assess the targets.As a result,the electricity demand from charging EVs will cause a new peak demand at night,while the high variable RE penetration will cause curtailment in the power system due to excess supply at noon.Therefore,Thailand’s power sector has the potential for carbon emissions reduction by 45%with clean energy technologies,which could increase to 68%with carbon pricing,easily achievable by the nationally determined contribution target in 2030.However,these benefits could only be derived if various entities involved in the energy regulatory,transport and power sectors coordinate to implement the required technological and financial policies.Niphit Phothisourinh Jai Govind Singh 2023Clean Energy2023,7,6:0
13Impact of interconnections and renewable energy integration on the Philippine-Sabah Power Grid systems显示文摘This study presents a comprehensive impact analysis of the rotor angle stability of a proposed international connection between the Philippines and Sabah,Malaysia,as part of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations(ASEAN)Power Grid.This study focuses on modeling and evaluating the dynamic performance of the interconnected system,considering the high penetration of renewable sources.Power flow,small signal stability,and transient stability analyses were conducted to assess the ability of the proposed linked power system models to withstand small and large disturbances,utilizing the Power Systems Analysis Toolbox(PSAT)software in MATLAB.All components used in the model are documented in the PSAT library.Currently,there is a lack of publicly available studies regarding the implementation of this specific system.Additionally,the study investigates the behavior of a system with a high penetration of renewable energy sources.Based on the findings,this study concludes that a system is generally stable when interconnection is realized,given its appropriate location and dynamic component parameters.Furthermore,the critical eigenvalues of the system also exhibited improvement as the renewable energy sources were augmented.Tristan G.Magallones,Jr. Jai Govind Singh 2023Global Energy Interconnection2023,6,3:0
14A novel inertia emulator to reduce the rate of change of frequency for power systems with solar PV and battery energy storage显示文摘Energy access,climate change and public health issues are some major drivers for the need for renewable sources.However,most renewable sources,excluding large hydro,have zero or negligible rotational inertia,which is critical to stabilizing the power system after contingency.Therefore,this paper proposes a droop-based inertia emulator to reduce the rate of change of frequency and frequency deviations.The robustness of the controller is analysed by applying various uncertainties and disturbances of power system components that were carried out using DIgSILENT PowerFactory simulations.The obtained results are compared with existing literature and the desired performance shows an improvement in the rate of change of frequency of 34.78%for an IEEE 6-bus system,24.32%for a 12-bus system and 18%for a 39-bus system.R Raja Nivedha Jai Govind Singh Weerakorn Ongsakul 2023Clean Energy2023,7,4:0
