1The reversal of antineoplastic drug resistance in cancer cells by B-elemene显示文摘Multidrug resistance(MDR), deined as the resistance of cancer cells to compounds with diverse structures and mechanisms of actions, signiicantly limits the eicacy of antitumor drugs. A major mechanism that mediates MDR in cancer is the overexpression of adenosine triphosphate(ATP)?binding cassette transporters. These transporters bind to their respective substrates and catalyze their elux from cancer cells, thereby lowering the intracellular concentra?tions of the substrates and thus attenuating or even abolishing their eicacy. In addition, cancer cells can become resistant to drugs via mechanisms that attenuate apoptosis and cell cycle arrest such as alterations in the p53, check point kinase, nuclear factor kappa B, and the p38 mitogen?activated protein kinase pathway. 9One-step fabrication of mesoporous sulfur-doped carbon nitride for highly selective photocatalytic transformation of native lignin to monophenolic compounds显示文摘Photocatalytic selective transform native lignin into valuable chemicals is an attractive but challenging task.Herein,we report a mesoporous sulfur-doped carbon nitride(MSCN-0.5)which is prepared by a facile one-step thermal condensation strategy.It is highly active and selective for the cleavage Cα-Cβbond inβ-O-4 lignin model compound under visible light radiation at room temperature,achieving 99%substrate conversion and 98%Cα-Cβbond cleavage selectivity.Mechanistic studies revealed that the Cβ-H bond of lignin model compounds activated by holes and generate key Cβradical intermediates,further induced the Cα-Cβbond cleavage by superoxide anion radicals(·O2-)to produce aromatic oxygenates.Waste Camellia oleifera shell(WCOS)was taken as a representative to further understand the reaction mechanisms on native lignin.33.2 mg of monophenolic compounds(Vanillin accounted for 22%and Syringaldehyde for 34%)can be obtained by each gram of WCOS lignin,which is 2.5 times as that of the pristine carbon nitride.The present work offers useful guidance for designing metal-free heterogeneous photocatalysts for Cα-Cβbond cleavage to harvest monophenolic compounds.Conghao Ku Huiqin Guo Kexin Li Qiong Wu Liushui Yan 2023Chinese Chemical Letters2023,34,1:1

15Sorption and cosorption of the nonionic herbicide mefenacet and heavy metals on soil and its components显示文摘Sorption and cosorption of the nonionic herbicide mefenacet and two typical metals (copper and silver) on black soil and its components (kaolinite and humic acid) were investigated. It was found that because of their different valences and properties, Cu2+and Ag+ presented different effects on the sorption of mefenacet. Due to the competition of Cu2+, along with the shells of dense water formed by its surface complexation, for sorption surface area with mefenacet, the addition of Cu2+ decreased the sorption amount of mefenacet on soil and its components, especially on humic acid. However, the addition of Ag+ significantly enhanced the sorption of mefenacet, which was attributed to the softness of the cation that weakened the hydrophilicity of the local region around Ag+-complexed functionalities, and thus mitigated the competitive sorption of water. In addition, the sorption of mefenacet on soil with or without the two metals was generally decreased with increasing pH, which was caused by the hydrolysis of carbonyl and carboxyl groups on the surface of the sorbents, π-π interaction between mefenacet and the soil organic matter, and so on. On the other hand, the presence of mefenacet seemed to have little effect on the sorption of Cu2+ and Ag+, indicating that Cu2+ and Ag+ might be sorbed strongly on the tested sorbents and the mefenacet added was too low in concentration to affect the sorption of the metals.Zhenyu Liu Huiqin Guo Huan He Cheng Sun 2012Journal of Environmental Sciences2012,24,3:1
16Identification of the sensitive area for targeted observation to improve vertical thermal structure prediction in summer in the Yellow Sea显示文摘The sensitive area of targeted observations for short-term(7 d)prediction of vertical thermal structure(VTS)in summer in the Yellow Sea was investigated.We applied the Conditional Nonlinear Optimal Perturbation(CNOP)method and an adjoint-free algorithm with the Regional Ocean Modeling System(ROMS).We used vertical integration of CNOP-type temperature errors to locate the sensitive areas,where reduction of initial errors is expected to yield the greatest improvement in VTS prediction for the selected verification area.The identified sensitive areas were northeast−southwest orientated northeast to the verification area,which were possibly related to the southwestward background currents.Then,we performed a series of sensitivity experiments to evaluate the effectiveness of the identified sensitive areas.Results show that initial errors in the identified sensitive areas had the greatest negative effect on VTS prediction in the verification area compared to errors in other areas(e.g.,the verification area and areas to its east and northeast).Moreover,removal of initial errors through deploying simulated observations in the identified sensitive areas led to more refined prediction than correction of initial conditions in the verification area itself.Our results suggest that implementation of targeted observation in the CNOP-based sensitive areas is an effective method to improve short-term prediction of VTS in summer in the Yellow Sea.Huiqin Hu Jingyi Liu Lianglong Da Wuhong Guo Kun Liu Baolong Cui 2021Acta Oceanologica Sinica2021,40,7:1

20Risk factors and clinical outcomes of incomplete endoscopic resection of small rectal neuroendocrine tumors in southern China:a 9-year data analysis显示文摘Background:The histologically complete resection(CR)rate of small rectal neuroendocrine tumors(RNETs)is unsatisfactory at the first endoscopy.Risk factors and clinical outcomes associated with incomplete resection(IR)have not been explicitly elucidated.This study aims to explore the relevant factors of IR.Methods:This retrospective study reviewed patients with small RNETs(10mm)in eight centers from January 2013 to December 2021.Clinicopathological characteristics and clinical outcomes were compared between the CR and IR groups,and the polypectomy and advanced treatment groups.Results:Of the 326 patients included,83(25.5%)were diagnosed with IR.Polypectomy(odds ratio[OR]=16.86),a central depression(OR=7.50),and treatment in the early period(OR=2.60)were closely associated with IR.Further analysis revealed that an atypical hyperemic appearance(OR=7.49)and treatment in the early period(OR=2.54)were significantly associated with the inappropriate use of polypectomy(both P<0.05).In addition,a total of 265(81.3%)were followed up with a median follow-up period of 30.9 months.No death,metastasis,or recurrence was found during the follow-up period.Conclusions:Polypectomy,a central depression,and treatment in the early period were risk factors for IR.Further,an atypical hyperemic appearance and treatment in the early period were significant predisposing factors for inappropriate choice of polypectomy.For histologically incompletely resected small RNETs,follow-up may be a safe and feasible alternative to rigorous salvage therapy.Xiaoduan Zhuang Shaoheng Zhang Guiquan Chen Zongqi Luo Huiqin Hu Wenfeng Huang Yu Guo Yongwen Ouyang Liang Peng Qing Qing Huiting Chen Bingsheng Li Jie Chen Xinying Wang 2023Gastroenterology Report2023,11,1:0
