1Using balance of seasonal herbage supply and demand to inform sustainable grassland management on the Qinghai–Tibetan Plateau显示文摘To mitigate the impacts of grassland degradation on the Qinghai–Tibetan Plateau(QTP), in recent decades China has been implementing large-scale conservation programs and has invested about 42 billion CNY(7 billion USD). However, these programs are faced with major challenges involving trade-offs between ecological function, livestock production and income of pastoralists.Scientific assessments, as well as technical and policy issues, have not fully captured the complex ecological,social and economic dynamics of the challenges facing grassland management on the QTP. Pastoral livestock production on the QTP is characterized by imbalance in both quality and quantity between livestock seasonal nutrient requirements and herbage production, which forces pastoralists to keep larger numbers of livestock for longer periods, leading to overgrazing. 2Microwave-assisted synthesis of photoluminescent glutathione-capped Au/Ag nanoclusters: A unique sensor-on-a-nanoparticle for metal ions, anions, and small molecules显示文摘Even though great advances have been achieved in the synthesis of luminescent metal nanoclusters, it is still challenging to develop metal nanoclusters with high quantum efficiency as well as multiple sensing functionalities. Here, we demonstrate the rapid preparation of glutathione-capped Au/Ag nanoclusters (GS-Au/Ag NCs) using microwave irradiation and their unique sensing capacities. Compared to bare GS-Au NCs, the doped Au/Ag NCs possess an enhanced quantum yield (7.8% compared to 2.2% for GS-Au NCs). Several characterization techniques were used to elucidate the atomic composition, particulate character, and electronic structure of the fabricated NCs. According to the X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and X-ray absorption near-edge structure (XANES) spectra, a significant amount of Au exists in the oxidized state as Au(I), and the Ag atoms are positively charged. In contrast to those nanoclusters that detect only one analyte, the GS-Au/Ag NCs can be used as a versatile sensor for metal ions, anions, and small molecules. This click condensation reaction is based on the condensation reaction between 2-cyanobenzothiazole(CBT) and D-cysteine(D-Cys) in fireflies and has high biocompatibility and controllability in physiological solutions. 6Magnetic Properties and Thermal Stability of Sintered Nd-Fe-B Magnet with Dy-Ni Additive显示文摘A sintered(Nd_(0.8)Pr_(0.2))_(30.7)FebalB_(0.98)Cu_(0.2) magnet with 3% intergranular Dy_(85)Ni_(15) additive is prepared to study the magnetic properties and thermal stability of the Nd-Fe-B magnet. The results show that the magnet with or without additive obtains its optimum comprehensive magnetic properties at the sintering temperature of 1 030 ℃ and 1 040 ℃, respectively. The maximum coercivity of the magnet with additive reaches 15.16 k Oe, while that of the magnet without additive is just 11.88 k Oe. Further investigation on microstructure indicates that the grains of the magnet with additive form a modified 'core shell' structure. 9Coercivity Enhancement of the Sintered Nd-Fe-B Magnet with Intergranular Multi-Addition显示文摘In order to improve the coercivity of the sintered Nd-Fe-B magnet, a Nd_(13.5)Fe_(79.75)B_(6.75) magnet with intergranular multi-addition of 2% DyH3, 2% NdH 3 and 1% Nd_2O_3 is prepared and its magnetic property and microstructure are analyzed. The results show that the coercivity of the magnet with multi-addition is as high as 1300 k A/m, while that of the magnets with DyH_3 and Nd_2O_3 are 520 kA /m and 850 kA /m, respectively. Scanning electron microscope(SEM) shows that the grain boundaries in the magnet with multi-addition are smoother and the grain size is smaller than that in the magnet without the addition. Compared with addition of DyH3 or Nd_2O_3, the multi-addition can more effectively enhance coercivity of the magnet. Intergranular adding process with multi-addition can both increase the anisotropy field and optimize the grain-boundary microstructure of the magnet. 11Enzymatic self-assembly/disassembly turns “ON”/“OFF” the mimetic hydrolytic activity of histidine nanofibers显示文摘Mimetic enzymes are devised as alternates or supplements of natural enzymes in broad fields but regulating their activities in a switchable manner remains challenging.Herein,we proposed an enzymatic self-assembly/disassembly strategy to address this issue.A peptide molecule Nap FFEYIH(YH) was rationally designed which,after self-assembling into nanofibers,lined up the histidine moieties to form active hydrolysis centers for mimicking hydrolase activity.Enzymatic dephosphorylation of Nap FFEYp IH(Yp H) by alkaline phosphatase to yield YH also turned “ON” the hydrolase activity.In turn,phosphorylation of YH by phosphokinase epidermal growth factor receptor to yield Yp H disassembled the nanofibers and thus turned the activity “OFF”.As such,the “ON”/“OFF” of the mimetic hydrolase activities could be regulated under physiological conditions through ALP/EGFR-mediated self-assembly/disassembly of histidine nanofibers.This work provides a feasible strategy for the on-demand fabrication of artificial enzymes with controllable and superior activities.Xianbao Sun Manli Wang Xiaoyang Liu Wenjun Zhan Guangqiong Xu Qiaochu Jiang Hai-Dong Xu Fuqiang Wang Gaolin Liang 2024Science China Chemistry2024,67,2:0
12Highly lipophilic coumarin fluorophore with excimer-monomer transition property for lipid droplet imaging显示文摘Lipid droplet(LD) fluorescent imaging plays an important role in the detection of lipid-related diseases.Due to their poor photostability and low hydrophobicity of currently available LD imaging fluorophores,LD imaging is limited by its short imaging period and low imaging contrast. Herein, we reasonably designed a highly lipophilic compound Cou-Flu with excellent photostability and excimer-monomer transition property. It exhibited weak excimer emission in cytoplasm, but strong monomer emission in LDs,enabling high contrast LD imaging and LD movement tracing in cells. Zebrafish imaging study demonstrated that Cou-Flu was also suitable for in vivo LD detection with excellent sensitivity.
