| 1 | TP53-induced glycolysis and apoptosis regulator alleviates hypoxia/ischemia-induced microglial pyroptosis and ischemic brain damage显示文摘Our previous studies have demonstrated that TP53-induced glycolysis and apoptosis regulator(TIGAR)can protect neurons after cerebral ischemia/reperfusion.However,the role of TIGAR in neonatal hypoxic-ischemic brain damage(HIBD)remains unknown.In the present study,7-day-old Sprague-Dawley rat models of HIBD were established by permanent occlusion of the left common carotid artery followed by 2-hour hypoxia.At 6 days before induction of HIBD,a lentiviral vector containing short hairpin RNA of either TIGAR or gasdermin D(LV-sh_TIGAR or LV-sh_GSDMD)was injected into the left lateral ventricle and striatum.Highly aggressively proliferating immortalized(HAPI)microglial cell models of in vitro HIBD were established by 2-hour oxygen/glucose deprivation followed by 24-hour reoxygenation.Three days before in vitro HIBD induction,HAPI microglial cells were transfected with LV-sh_TIGAR or LV-sh_GSDMD.Our results showed that TIGAR expression was increased in the neonatal rat cortex after HIBD and in HAPI microglial cells after oxygen/glucose deprivation/reoxygenation.Lentivirusmediated TIGAR knockdown in rats markedly worsened pyroptosis and brain damage after hypoxia/ischemia in vivo and in vitro.Application of exogenous nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate(NADPH)increased the NADPH level and the glutathione/oxidized glutathione ratio and decreased reactive oxygen species levels in HAPI microglial cells after oxygen/glucose deprivation/reoxygenation.Additionally,exogenous NADPH blocked the effects of TIGAR knockdown in neonatal HIBD in vivo and in vitro.These findings show that TIGAR can inhibit microglial pyroptosis and play a protective role in neonatal HIBD.The study was approved by the Animal Ethics Committee of Soochow University of China(approval No.2017LW003)in 2017. | Lan-Lan Tan Xiao-Lu Jiang Li-Xiao Xu Gen Li Chen-Xi Feng Xin Ding Bin Sun Zheng-Hong Qin Zu-Bin Zhang Xing Feng Mei Li | 2021 | Neural Regeneration Research2021,16,6: | 9 |
| 2 | Optimization of equimolar reverse constant-temperature mass-diffusion process for minimum entransy dissipation显示文摘The mass entransy describes the mass-diffusion ability of the solution system, and the mass-diffusion process with the finite concentration difference always leads to the mass-entransy dissipation. This paper studies the equimolar reverse constant-temperature mass-diffusion process with Fick's law( g∝Δ(c)). The optimal concentration paths for the MED(Minimum Entransy Dissipation) are derived and compared with those for the MEG(Minimum Entropy Generation) and CCR(Constant Concentration Ratio) operations. | 6 | Thermal performance analysis of non-uniform height rectangular fin based on constructal theory and entransy theory显示文摘A model of non-uniform height rectangular fin, in which the variation of base's thickness and width are taken into account, is established in this paper. The dimensionless maximum thermal resistance(DMTR) and the dimensionless equivalent thermal resistance(DETR) defined based on the entransy dissipation rate(EDR) are taken as performance evaluation indexes. According to constructal theory, the variations of the two indexes with the geometric parameters of the fin are analyzed by using a finite-volume computational fluid dynamics code, the effects of the fin-material fraction on the two indexes are analyzed. It is found that the two indexes decrease monotonically as the ratio between the front height and the back height of the fin increases subjected to the non-uniform height rectangular fin. When the model is reduced to the uniform height fin, the two indexes increase first and then decrease with increase in the ratio between the height of the fin and the fin space. The fin-material fraction has no effect on the change rule of the two indexes with the ratio between the height of the fin and the fin space. The sensitivity of the DETR to the geometric parameters of the fin is higher than that of the DMTR to the geometric parameters. | 7 | Effect of Different Bacterial-Feeding Nematode Species on Soil Bacterial Numbers,Activity,and Community Composition显示文摘The effects of bacterial-feeding nematodes on bacterial number,activity,and community composition were studied through a microcosm experiment using sterilized soil inoculated with soil bacteria(soil suspension)and with bacteria and three species of bacterial-feeding nematodes(Cephalobus persegnis,Protorhabditis filiformis,and Caenorhabditis elegans).Catalyzed reporter deposition-fluorescence in situ hybridization,CO_2 evolution,and denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis(DGGE)of PCR.amplified 16S rRNA gene fragments were used to investigate bacterial numbers,activity,and community composition,respectively.Our results showed that bacterial numbers and activity significantly increased in the presence of bacterial-feeding nematodes,which indicated that bacterial-feeding nematodes had a significant positive effect on soil bacteria.The different nematode species had different effects on bacterial numbers and activity.C.persegnis and P.filiformis,isolated from native soil,increased the bacterial number and activity more than C.elegans.The DGGE analysis results showed that dominant bacterial species significantly differed among the treatments,which suggested that bacterial-feeding nematode species modified the bacterial community composition in soil.Further gene sequence analysis results showed that the dominant bacterial species in this study were gram-negative bacteria.Given the completely same conditions except nematode species,the varied selective feeding behavior of different nematode species was the most likely reason for the altered bacterial community composition.Overall,the alteration of bacterial numbers,activity and community composition resulting from the bacterial-feeding nematodes may ultimately affect soil ecological functioning and processes. | XIAO Hai-Feng LI Gen LI Da-Ming HU Feng LI Hui-Xin | 2014 | Pedosphere2014,24,1: | 4 |
| 8 | Coastal environment of the past millennium recorded by a coastal dune in Fujian,China显示文摘Coastal dune is a common aeolian geomorphology in a sandy coast,which records the evolution process of the aeolian landscape system and reflects the complex interaction among land surface,atmosphere and ocean.Coast is a sensitive area to global climate change.Restricted by chronology,most previous researches in China focused only on the cause of formation of coastal dunes.In recent years,the development of optically stimulated luminescence (OSL) dating provides a good method and acts as a carrier for coastal dunes to paleoclimate and paleoenvironmental studies.In this study,we selected an aeolian dune at the Anshan archaeological site,Fujian,China as the research object based on field observations.For determining their sedimentary stages and the primary influencing factors,we used the OSL dating method to construct a chronological framework for the aeolian dune.In addition,the sizes of grains were analyzed for identifying factors influencing the winter monsoon during the Medieval Warm Period (MWP) and the Little Ice Age (LIA) in this area.The results showed that the deposition of the aeolian dune was closely related to variations in the winter monsoon intensity.The changes of the winter monsoon were similar to the tendency of the East Asian winter monsoon,although there were several sub-fluctuations.From an overall perspective,the winter monsoon was strengthened during the MWP (1050–1300) .The results of a power spectrum analysis showed that the intensity of the East Asian winter monsoon is correlated with sunspot activity. | JIN Jianhui LI Zhizhong JIANG Feng deng tao HU Fan'gen LING Zhiyong | 2016 | Journal of Arid Land2016,8,5: | 3 |

| 11 | Experimental research on the residual stress of polycrystalline diamond compacts for oil drilling显示文摘Practical experiences gained in the past several years show that the thermal residual stress(TRS) is a main cause leading polycrystalline diamond compacts(PDC) to premature failure.It is the very important to measure the TRS accurately for optimizing the interface and improving the service performance of PDC.In this paper,the TRS in 1913 flat-interface PDC was measured using improved stress-release method(ISRM). | 14 | Inferring the invasion mechanisms of the red swamp crayfish in China using mitochondrial DNA sequences显示文摘The red swamp crayfish,Procambarus clarkii,is a native species in north-eastern Mexico and south-central USA.P.clarkii was introduced to China in 1929 and has been used as an aquaculture species in China since 1983.It currently exists in most of the provinces of China,but threatens local fish,crustaceans,aquatic plants and local freshwater ecosystems.We examined the genetic variation in partial mitochondrial ND2 gene of 831 individuals collected from 25 P.clarkii populations in 13 provinces of China to infer the expansion pathways and mechanisms.Six haplotypes were detected.All six haplotypes appeared in four populations in Nanjing and a population located near Nanjing whereas only 1–5 of the six haplotypes were present in other populations.These data suggest that the populations in Nanjing are probably the source of all other populations in China.There were no significant relationships between geographic distances and genetic distances in 25 populations,whereas significant relationship was found in four populations in Qinhuai River covering 50 km in Nanjing.These data suggest that the expansion mainly be human-mediated in large scale,and active disposal or non-anthropogenic passive dispersal might have played an important role in expansion at a smaller scale.In some places far away from Nanjing,several haplotypes existed,suggested multiple introduction events may have happened.Although aquaculture of this species could bring huge economic benefit,its potential to negatively affect native biota and entire ecosystems should not be ignored. | Gen Hua Yue Jian-Bin Feng Jun Hong Xia Su Yin Cao Chun Ming Wang | 2021 | Aquaculture and Fisheries2021,6,1: | 2 |
