| 1 | Wet and dry deposition fluxes of heavy metals in Pearl River Delta Region(China):Characteristics,ecological risk assessment,and source apportionment显示文摘The atmospheric deposition of heavy metals poses serious risks to the ecological system and human health. To advance our knowledge of atmospheric dry/wet heavy metal deposition in the PRD region, monthly fluxes were examined based on soluble/insoluble fractions of five heavy metal elements(Cu, Pb, Cd, Cr and Zn) in samples collected from January 2014 to December 2015 at Guangzhou(urban) and Dinghushan(suburban) sites. The ratios of wet/dry deposition fluxes indicated that heavy metal deposition was governed by wet deposition rather than dry deposition in the PRD region. Affected by the shifting of the Asian monsoon, wet deposition fluxes exhibited significant seasonal variation between summer monsoon seasons(April to September) and winter monsoon seasons(October to February) in this region. Cd was classified as an extremely strong potential ecological risk based on solubility and the Hakanson ecological risk index. | 4 | Is seawater geochemical composition recorded in marine carbonate? Evidence from iron and manganese contents in Late Devonian carbonate rocks显示文摘Iron and manganese are the important redoxsensitive elements in the ocean. Previous studies have established a series of paleo-depositional redox proxies based on the form and content of iron in sedimentary rocks(e.g., degree of pyritization, FeHR/FeT, Fe/Al). These proxies were developed and applied on siliciclastic-rich marine sediments. Although marine carbonate rocks are generally considered to preserve the geochemical signals of ancient seawater, neither Fe nor Mn content in marine carbonate rocks(Fecarb, Mncarb) has been independently used as a proxy to quantify environmental cues in paleo-oceans. Both Fe and Mn are insoluble in oxic conditions(Fe_2O_3, Fe(OH)_3,MnO_2), while their reduced forms(Fe^(2+) and Mn^(2+)) are soluble. Therefore, oxic seawater should have low concentrations of dissolved Fe^(2+)and Mn^(2+), and accordingly carbonate rocks precipitated from oxic seawater should have low Fecarband Mncarb, and vice versa. To evaluate whether Fecarband Mncarbcan be used to quantify oxygen fugacity in seawater, we measured Fecarband Mncarbof Upper Devonian marine carbonate rocks collected from nine sections in South China. Fecarbof intraplatform basin samples wassignificantly higher than that of shelf samples, while shelf and basin samples had comparable Mncarb. The modeling result indicates that the dramatic difference in Fecarbcannot be explained by variation in oxygen fugacity between the shelf and basin seawater. Instead, both Fecarband Mncarb appear to be more sensitive to benthic flux from sediment porewater that is enriched in Fe^(2+)and Mn^(2+). Porewater Fe^(2+)and Mn^(2+)derive from bacterial iron and manganese reduction; flux was controlled by sedimentation rate and the depth of the Fe(Mn) reduction zone in sediments, the latter of which is determined by oxygen fugacity at the water–sediment interface. Thus, high Fecarbof the basin samples might be attributed to low sedimentation rate and/or low oxygen fugacity at the seafloor. However, invariant Mncarbof the shelf and basin samples might be the consequence of complete reduction of Mn in sediments. Our study indicates that marine carbonate rocks may not necessarily record seawater composition, particularly for benthic carbonate rocks. The influence of benthic flux might cause carbonate rocks' geochemical signals to deviate significantly from seawater values. | 5 | Marine Carbon-Sulfur Biogeochemical Cycles during the Steptoean Positive Carbon Isotope Excursion(SPICE) in the Jiangnan Basin, South China显示文摘Global occurrences of Steptoean Positive Carbon Isotope Excursion(SPICE) during Late Cambrian recorded a significant perturbation in marine carbon cycle, and might have had profound impacts on the biological evolution. In previous studies, SPICE has been reported from the Jiangnan slope belt in South China. To evaluate the bathymetric extent of SPICE, we investigate the limestone samples from the upper Qingxi Formation in the Shaijiang Section in the Jiangnan Basin. Our results show the positive excursions for both carbonate carbon(δ^(13)C) and organic carbon(δ^(13)C_(org)) isotopes, as well as the concurrent positive shifts in sulfur isotopes of carbonate associated sulfate(CAS, δ^(34)S_(CAS)) and pyrite(δ^(34)S_(pyrite)), unequivocally indicating the presence of SPICE in the Jiangnan Basin. A 4‰ increase in δ^(13)C_(carb) of the Qingxi limestone implies the increase of the relative flux of organic carbon burial by a factor of two. Concurrent positive excursions in δ^(34)S_(CAS) and δ^(34)S_(pyrite) have been attributed to the enhanced pyrite burial in oceans with extremely low concentration and spatially heterogeneous isotopic composition of seawater sulfate. Here, we propose that the seawater sulfur isotopic heterogeneity can be generated by volatile organic sulfur compound(VOSC, such as methanethiol and dimethyl sulfide) formation in sulfidic continental margins that were widespread during SPICE. Emission of 32S-enriched VOSC in atmosphere, followed by lateral transportation and aerobic oxidation in atmosphere, and precipitation in open oceans result in a net flux of ^(32)S from continental margins to open oceans, elevating δ^(34)S of seawater sulfate in continental margins. | 8 | CO_2 methanation over TiO_2–Al_2O_3 binary oxides supported Ru catalysts显示文摘TiO_2 modified Al_2O_3 binary oxide was prepared by a wet-impregnation method and used as the support for ruthenium catalyst. The catalytic performance of Ru/TiO_2–Al_2O_3catalyst in CO_2 methanation reaction was investigated. Compared with Ru/Al_2O_3 catalyst, the Ru/TiO_2–Al_2O_3catalytic system exhibited a much higher activity in CO_2 methanation reaction. The reaction rate over Ru/TiO_2–Al_2O_3 was 0.59 mol CO_2·(g Ru)1·h-1, 3.1 times higher than that on Ru/Al_2O_3[0.19 mol CO_2·(gRu)-1·h-1]. The effect of TiO_2 content and TiO_2–Al_2O_3calcination temperature on catalytic performance was addressed. The corresponding structures of each catalyst were characterized by means of H_2-TPR, XRD, and TEM. Results indicated that the averaged particle size of the Ru on TiO_2–Al_2O_3support is 2.8 nm, smaller than that on Al_2O_3 support of 4.3 nm. | 9 | Vesicular Li3V2(PO4)3/C hollow mesoporous microspheres as an efficient cathode material for lithium-ion batteries显示文摘Vesicular lithium vanadium phosphate/carbon hollow mesoporous microspheres were fabricated using a facile polyvinylpyrrolidone-assisted aerosol-spray-assisted method and subsequent heat-treatment. While changing the content of polyvinylpyrrolidone, we found that carbon content was adjustable on the surface of lithium vanadium phosphate. By optimizing the carbon content among the composites, the electrochemical performance can be enhanced significantly. The results of electrochemical performance tests suggested that the samples exhibited good cycle performance and high discharge capability in the voltages between 3.0-4.8 V. | 11 | Unveiling annealing texture formation and static recrystallization kinetics of hot-rolled Mg-Al-Zn-Mn-Ca alloy显示文摘The development of Mg-Al-Zn-Mn-Ca series alloys provides a potential prospect to achieve high strength and formability at room temperature(RT).The formation of elliptical annular texture is treated as a crucial factor for the enhanced RT formability.However,the origin of such an elliptical annular texture formation has been rarely reported.Herein,we unveiled the formation and evolution of elliptical annular texture in the hot-rolled Mg-1.6 Al-0.8 Zn-0.4 Mn-0.5 Ca(AZMX1100,wt.%)alloy after annealing at different temperatures for 1 h,and its static recrystallization(SRX)kinetics in given annealing temperature for different time.The results revealed that the formation of elliptical annular texture in the hot-rolled AZMX1100 alloy after annealing was derived from nucleation-oriented SRX mechanism,which took place in 200-300°C,induced by cracked chain-shaped Al2 Ca phases,contraction twins,intersections of double twins,intersections of double twins and grain boundaries and non-basal slips.On further annealing from300-450°C,the grains with 45°–70°transverse direction(TD)preferentially grew,which made elliptical annular texture extended along the TD.Based on the Johnson-Mehl-Avrami-Kolmogorov(JMAK)model,Avrami exponent n value was estimated to be 0.68–1.02,attributed to non-random SRX nucleation,giving rise to the lower activation energy QRof nucleation of^74.24 k J/mol.Since the co-segregation of Al,Zn and Ca atoms in grain boundaries created a strong interaction of solutes and grain boundaries,the hot-rolled AZMX1100 alloy exhibited the higher activation energy Qg(~115.48 k J/mol)of grain growth. | Qinghang Wang Bin Jiang Aitao Tang Jie Fu Zhongtao Jiang Haoran Sheng Dingfei Zhang Guangsheng Huang Fusheng Pan | 2020 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2020,36,8: | 3 |

| 13 | A high-performance Mg-4.9Gd-3.2Y-1.1Zn-0.5Zr alloy via multidirectional forging after analyzing its compression behavior显示文摘A high-performance Mg-4.9Gd-3.2Y-1.1Zn-0.5Zr alloy has been fabricated by multidirectional forging(MDF)after analyzing its compression behavior.The as-homogenized alloy exhibits a high activation energy Q of deformation(~285 kJ/mol).The size of DRXed grains after compression tends to decrease as the Z-H parameter(Z)increases,showing a grain size exponent m of~4.0.Lamellar LPSO phases,kinking deformation,and bimodal microstructure are detected at the relatively low compression temperature of 350 and 400℃,while sufficient DRX can be achieved at 500℃,accompanied by the dissolution of lamellar LPSO.According to the processing maps,MDF was successfully conducted under an appropriate condition.After peak-aged at 200℃for 78 h,the MDFed billet exhibits a tensile yield strength(TYS)of 331 and 305 MPa at room temperature and 200℃,respectively.The high strength mainly results from the combination of fine grains,low Schmid factor for basal slip,sufficientβ’ageing precipitates,and directionally arranged interdendritic LPSO phases,etc.This paper provides a feasible way for the fabrication of high-performance,low-RE-content,and large-scale Mg components for industrial production. | Xiaojie Zhou Yuan Yao Jian Zhang Xiaomin Chen Weiying Huang Jing Pan Haoran Wang Maopeng Weng | 2021 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,11: | 3 |
| 14 | Heterogeneous Mg isotopic composition of the early Carboniferous limestone: implications for carbonate as a seawater archive显示文摘Carbonate precipitation and hydrothermal reaction are the two major processes that remove Mg from seawater.Mg isotopes are significantly(up to 5%)fractionated during carbonate precipitation by preferential incorporation of ^(24)Mg,while hydrothermal reactions are associated with negligible Mg isotope fractionation by preferential sequestration of^( 26)Mg.Thus,the marine Mg cycle could be reflected by seawater Mg isotopic composition(δ^(26)Mg_(sw)),which might be recorded in marine carbonate.However,carbonates are both texturally and compositionally heterogeneous,and it is unclear which carbonate component is the most reliable for reconstructing δ^(26)Mg_(sw).In this study,we measured Mg isotopic compositions of limestone samples collected from the early Carboniferous Huangjin Formation in South China.Based on petrographic studies,four carbonate components were recognized:micrite,marine cement,brachiopod shell,and mixture.The four components had distinct δ^(26)Mg:(1)micrite samples ranged from -2.86% to -2.97%;(2)pure marine cements varied from -3.40% to -3.54%,while impure cement samples containing small amount of Rugosa coral skeletons showed a wider range(-3.27% to-3.75%);(3)values for the mixture component were-3.17% and -3.49%;and (4)brachiopod shells ranged from -2.20% to -3.07%,with the thickened hinge area enriched in ^( 24)Mg.Due to having multiple carbonate sources,neither the micrite nor the mixture component could be used to reconstruct δ^(26)Mg_(sw).In addition,the marine cement was homogenous in Mg isotopes,but lacking the fractionation by inorganic carbonate precipitation that is prerequisite for the accurate determination of δ^(26)Mg_(sw).Furthermore,brachiopod shells had heterogeneous C and Mg isotopes,suggesting a significant vital effect during growth.Overall,the heterogeneous δ^(26)Mg of the Huangjin limestone makes it difficult to reconstruct δ^(26)Mg_(sw)using bulk carbonate/calcareous sediments.Finally,δ^(26)Mg_(sw)was only slightly affected by the faunal composition of carbonate-secreting organisms,even though biogenic carbonate accounts for more than 90% of marine carbonate production in Phanerozoic oceans and there is a wide range(0.2%–4.8%)of fractionation during biogenic carbonate formation. | Haoran Ma Yihe Xu Kangjun Huang Yuanlin Sun Shan Ke Yang Peng Xianguo Lang Zhen Yan Bing Shen | 2018 | Acta Geochimica2018,37,1: | 3 |

| 18 | Cracking the superheavy pyrite enigma:possible roles of volatile organosulfur compound emission显示文摘The global deposition of superheavy pyrite(pyrite isotopically heavier than coeval seawater sulfate in the Neoproterozoic Era and particularly in the Cryogenian Period)defies explanation using the canonical marine sulfur cycle system.Here we report petrographic and sulfur isotopic data(δ^(34)Spy)of superheavy pyrite from the Cryogenian Datangpo Formation(660–650 Ma)in South China.Our data indicate a syndepositional/early diagenetic origin of the Datangpo superheavy pyrite,with ^(34)S-enriched H_(2)S supplied from sulfidic(H_(2)S rich)seawater.Instructed by a novel sulfur-cycling model,we propose that the emission of ^(34)S-depleted volatile organosulfur compounds(VOSC)that were generated via sulfide methylation may have contributed to the formation of ^(34)S-enriched sulfidic seawater and superheavy pyrite.The global emission of VOSC may be attributed to enhanced organic matter production after the Sturtian glaciation in the context of widespread sulfidic conditions.These findings demonstrate that VOSC cycling is an important component of the sulfur cycle in Proterozoic oceans. | Xianguo Lang Zhouqiao Zhao Haoran Ma Kangjun Huang Songzhuo Li Chuanming Zhou Shuhai Xiao Yongbo Peng Yonggang Liu Wenbo Tang Bing Shen | 2021 | National Science Review2021,8,10: | 2 |
| 19 | Wafer-scale patterned growth of type-II Dirac semimetal platinum ditelluride for sensitive room-temperature terahertz photodetection显示文摘As the lastly unexplored electromagnetic wave,terahertz(THz)radiation has been exploited in a plenty of contexts such as fundamental research,military and civil fields.Most recently,representative two-dimensional(2D)topological semimetal,platinum ditelluride(PtTe_(2))has attracted considerable research interest in THz detection due to its unique physical properties.However,to achieve practical applications,the low-cost,large-scale,controllable synthesis and efficient patterning of 2D materials are key requirements,which remain a challenge for PtTe_(2)and its photodetectors(PDs).Herein,a facile approach is developed to obtain waferscale(2-inches)patterned PtTe_(2)arrays using one-step tellurium-vapor transformation method and micro-Nano technology.PtTe_(2)PD arrays are fabricated with the as-grown PtTe_(2)arrays evenly distributed on a 2-inch wafer,exhibiting high conductivity(~2.7×105 S m^(-1))and good electrical consistency.Driven by the Dirac fermions,PtTe_(2)PDs achieve a broadband(0.02-0.3 THz)response with a fast response speed(~4.7μs),a high sensitivity(~47 pW Hz^(-1/2))and high-resolution transmission THz-imaging capability,which displays the potential of large-area THz array imaging.These results are one step towards the practical applications of integrated PD arrays based on 2D materials. | Zhuo Dong Wenzhi Yu Libo Zhang Liu Yang Luyi Huang Yan Zhang Zeqian Ren Haoran Mu Cheng Chen Junrong Zhang Jie Li Lin Wang Kai Zhang | 2023 | InfoMat2023,5,5: | 1 |
| 20 | Low-bandgap conjugated polymers based on benzodipyrrolidone with reliable unipolar electron mobility exceeding 1 cm^(2) V^(-1)s^(-1)显示文摘The employment of an intrinsic quinoidal building block,benzodipyrrolidone(BDP),on constructing conjugated polymers(PBDP-2F and PBDP-2CN)with high electron mobility and unipolar transport characteristic in polyethylenimine ethoxylated(PEIE)modified organic field-effect transistors(OFETs)is reported.The intrinsic quinoidal characteristic and excellent coplanarity of BDP can lower the lowest unoccupied molecular orbital(LUMO)levels and improve ordered interchain packing of the resulting polymers in solid states,which are favorable for electron-injection and transport.By using PEIE as the interlayer to block the hole injection,unipolar n-type transport characteristics with high electron mobility of 0.58 and 1.01 cm^(2) V^(-1)s^(-1)were achieved by the OFETs based on PBDP-2F and PBDP-2CN,respectively.More importantly,the extracted mobilities are highly reliable with the reliability factor of above 80%.To the best of our knowledge,PBDP-2CN is the very first quinoid-based conjugated polymer with reliable electron mobility exceeding 1 cm^(2) V^(-1)s^(-1).This work represents a significant step in exploring intrinsic quinoidal CPs for application in n-channel OFETs and logic complementary circuits. | Mingqun Yang Tian Du Xuxia Zhao Xuelong Huang Langheng Pan Shuting Pang Haoran Tang Zhongxiang Peng Long Ye Yunfeng Deng Mingliang Sun Chunhui Duan Fei Huang Yong Cao | 2021 | Science China Chemistry2021,64,7: | 1 |
