1Effect of composite supports on the methanation activity of Co-Mo-based sulphur-resistant catalysts显示文摘The effects of composite supports of CeO2-Al2O3,MgO-Al2O3,TiO2-Al2O3 or ZrO2-Al2O3 on the methanation activity of supported Co-Mo-based sulphur-resistant catalysts were investigated.The catalysts were further characterized by nitrogen adsorption measurement,X-ray diffraction and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy.The catalyst of 5%CoO-15%MoO3 supported on CeO2-Al2O3,MgO-Al2O3,TiO2-Al2O3 or ZrO2-Al2O3 composite oxides,respectively,showed different catalytic performances of syngas methanation in the presence of hydrogen sulphide as compared with that of the 5%CoO-15%MoO3/Al2O3 catalyst.The Co-Mo/CeO2-Al2O3 catalyst shows the highest methanation activity among the tested catalysts.The enhanced methanation activity may be attributed to the improvement of the dispersion of active metal species and the inhibition of the formation of S6+.Haiyang Wang Zhenhua Li Erdong Wang Can Lin Yuguang Shang Guozhong Ding Xinbin Ma Shaodong Qin Qi Sun 2012Journal of Natural Gas Chemistry2012,21,6:15
2Effects of social capital,risk perception and awareness on environmental protection behavior显示文摘Introduction:Environmental protection is an essential issue for sustainable development,and its execution power mainly comes from individual environmental protection behavior.This study investigates the resident environmental protection behaviors and influencing factors in the ecologically fragile areas of western China based on a total of 1062 households by adopting the participatory assessment method.Then,this study used the structural equation model to empirically analyze the impact of social capital,environmental risk perception,and environmental awareness on residents’environmental protection behavior.Outcomes:The results showed that environmental awareness is the basis for practicing environmental protection behavior,consistent with the existing research;social capital has a significant impact on residents’environmental protection behavior,with an impact coefficient of 0.347.Hence,environmental risk perception has an indirect influence on environmental protection behavior through environmental awareness.Besides,compared with urban residents,rural residents’environmental awareness and social capital have a stronger role in environmental protection behavior.Conclusions:The study clarified the influence path of residents’environmental protection behavior,thus effectively providing a decision-making basis for the government to guide residents in the environmental governance system.Fang Su Nini Song Haiyang Shang Jing Wang Bing Xue 2021Ecosystem Health and Sustainability2021,7,1:1
3Ecological footprint of Gansu Province,China between 1997 and 2002:changes and inducement显示文摘The calculation of Ecological Footprint (EF) on the basis of Input-Output model (I-O model) was advanced by Bicknell, and modif ied and improved by Ferng who corrected the footprint's aggregation to each sectors. For the lack of suffi cient technique to deal with the trade between the research areas and the rest of the world, it is necessary to improve this method. And a dynamic analysis of the change of footprint based on I-O model, which could explore the factor impacting the footprint using the special advantage of I-O model, ought to be put into practice. After introducing the new method in detail, we calculate and compare the EF and the change of Gansu Province in the northwest of China in 1997 and 2002. The result shows that there was an increase of EF in 2002 caused by final domestic demand. Further, the increment in EF export was 2.0×105 ha and 1.6×106 ha in import. The out-of-region support dropped from 22.6% to 18.6%. We introduce three factors causing the EF change based on the character of I-O model: the productivity of the resource which is explained by the change of resource used to obtain one unit output in a sector, the improvement of the economics and the final demand. 4Relationship analysis between livelihood assets and livelihood strategies:A Heihe River Basin example显示文摘The security and quality of the livelihood of farmers is of paramount concern in rural areas of China.Livelihood stability would force the related polity to act coordinately while eradicating poverty and promoting resource sustainability.For this study,the livelihood approach was used as a framework of analysis that is based upon Sustainable Livelihoods Framework,the core of which is livelihood assets.Livelihood capitals provide substantial contributions to the well-being of numerous rural dwellers.However,the level and degree of reliance on livelihood capital differ across households.Factors that contribute to the economic reliance of households on a particular economic activity in general and on livelihood capital in particular may vary depending upon the type of resource endowment,household demographic,and economic characteristic as well as exogenous factors such as markets,prices,policies,and technologies.This study identifies factors that influence a household's livelihood strategy choice with a particular focus on livelihood assets.The study applies a preliminary investigation concerning the relationship between livelihood assets and livelihood strategies,that is,the allocation of assets.Environmentally augmented household livelihood assets were collected from 300 sample households within the Heihe River Basin.Results show that physical assets possess a maximum value(0.609) for farmers and human assets possess a relatively high value(0.516) followed by social assets(0.354).Besides,financial and natural assets possess relatively low values(0.286 and 0.241,respectively).An increment of one unit should reduce the occurrence of choosing non-agricultural activities for natural capital while an increment of one unit should increase the occurrence of choosing non-agricultural activities for financial capital,while other variables remain constant.Governments,therefore,should enhance funding and technological support to achieve livelihood diversity and strengthen the facility of farmers by way of establishing relevant polity.It would enable farmers and provide themselves with the ability and asset reserves to transition from agricultural production to secondary and tertiary industries in order to improve the livelihood of farmers overall.Fang Su HaiYang Shang 2012Research in Cold and Arid Regions2012,4,3:0
5Efficiency,Equity and Effect:a case study on virtual water consumption characteristics显示文摘Scarcity of water is the key factor restricting the growth of social economy.The virtual water theory provides a new way to solve the problem of water scarcity.For this paper,we have calculated the virtual water consumption of each household,grouped by income,of Gansu province for 1992-2005.Then we advanced the indicator of virtual water with per-unit-of-consumption expenditure to analyze the efficiency of virtual water consumption.Additionally,we recurred to the diversity theory advanced by Ulanowicz,which is broadly employed by ecologists and biologists,to analyze the characteristics of virtual water consumption.As a result,the virtual water consumption of each group decreased yearly from 1992 to 2005,on the whole;decreasing proceeded slower during the period of 1992-1997 than during 1998-2005.Per-unit-consumption expenditure of virtual water for each group represents the same characteristics,on the whole,as virtual water consumption.The largest variation of this indicator exists in the group of the lowest income,which ranges from 1.58 to 0.18 m3/Yuan.yr;whereas the least exists in the highest income group,which is 0.58 to 0.07 m3/Yuan.yr.The virtual diversity indicator increased year by year,and the change of this indicator in 1992-1997 was more obvious than in 1998-2005.Finally,from this study we find that,in view of virtual water,we can save water by means of changing consumption patterns and increasing consumption diversity,but without degrading the quality of living and reducing the demands of living.When the problem of water scarcity becomes more and more serious in Gansu of China,this suggestion becomes more and more important.The consumption,the role of guiding production produce,is very important.An unsustainable consumption pattern is the main factor causing the deterioration of the world environment,especially in a developing country.The sustainable consumption is the only way to develop human beings and achieve the economical sustainable economics.HaiYang Shang 1*,KeGong Chen 1,ZhongMin Xu 1,GarlandRenn Sam 2 1.Key Laboratory of Ecohydrology and Integrated River Basin Science,Cold and Arid Regions Environmental and Engineering Research Institute,Chinese Academy of Sciences,Lanzhou,Gansu 730000,China.2.College of Geography and Environmental Science,Northwest Normal University,Lanzhou,Gansu 730070,China 2009Research in Cold and Arid Regions2009,1,2:0
6Rural resident household food consumption patterns in the Ganzhou district of Zhangye city:an analysis based on ELES Model显示文摘Demand for food plays an important role in the adjustment of prices for agricultural products and for adjusting agricultural structure.By using the extended linear expenditure system(ELES),we analyzed the food consumption structure of rural residents in the Ganzhou district of Zhangye city,and determined the basic food-consumption demand,the marginal propensity of consumption,the income elasticities of demand,and the own-price and cross-price elasticities of local rural residents,all of which illustrate the influencing factors on food consumption of rural residents and for forecasting the food-consumption structure.Those analyses show the following:the rural residents' expenditure on household basic food consumption reaches about 7,050.35 Yuan;the marginal propensities of consumption of fruits and vegetables are relatively high(0.062 and 0.106,respectively),followed by meat(0.044);the demands for various foods are increasing as income increases,with the largest income elasticity of demand corresponding to fruits(1.354) and the lowest to cereal(0.310);fruits and vegetables have relatively high own-price elasticities(respectively-0.879 and-0.442),with the cereal having the lowest one(-0.184).An increase in cereal prices would greatly affect demand for other products;with the rising size of rural households,the consumption for meat is decreasing whereas it is increasing for cereal.The improvement of household education levels will lead to the increase of fruit consumption(E = 0.297),which indicates that people will pay more attention to diet and nutrition structure with the improvement of education.Further,although the amount of cereal expenditure is continually growing,the share will be declining with the increase of household income in 2006-2012.For all these reasons,therefore,the government should encourage the cultivation of economic crops and guide the development of stockbreeding to ensure the stability of cereal output.In order to attain the balance between supply and demand,it is important to rationally adjust the prices of fruits and vegetables on the basis of the stable price of cereal.Fang Su *,ZhongMin Xu,HaiYang Shang The Laboratory of Watershed Hydrology and Ecology,Cold and Arid Regions Environmental and Engineering Research Institute,Chinese Academy of Sciences,Lanzhou,Gansu 730000,China. 2009Research in Cold and Arid Regions2009,1,2:0
