| 1 | Rabdosia serra alleviates dextran sulfate sodium salt-induced colitis in mice through anti-inflammation,regulating Th17/Treg balance,maintaining intestinal barrier integrity,and modulating gut microbiota显示文摘Rabdosia serra(R.serra),an important component of Chinese herbal tea,has traditionally been used to treat hepatitis,jaundice,cholecystitis,and colitis.However,the chemical composition of R.serra and its effect against colitis remain unclear.In this study,the chemical composition of the water extract of R.serra was analyzed using ultra performance liquid chromatography coupled with a hybrid linear ion trap quadrupole-orbitrap mass spectrometer(UPLC-LTQ-Orbitrap-MS).A total of 46 compounds,comprising ent-kaurane diterpenoids,flavonoids,phenolic acids,and steroids,were identified in the water extract of R.serra,and the extract could significantly alleviate dextran sulfate sodium salt-induced colitis by improving colon length,upregulating anti-inflammatory factors,downregulating proinflammatory factors,and restoring the balance of T helper 17/T regulatory cells.R.serra also preserved intestinal barrier function by increasing the level of tight junction proteins(zonula occludens 1 and occludin)in mouse colonic tissue.In addition,R.serra modulated the gut microbiota composition by increasing bacterial richness and diversity,increasing the abundance of beneficial bacteria(Muribaculaceae,Bacteroides,Lactobacillus,and Prevotellaceae_UCG-001),and decreasing the abundance of pathogenic bacteria(Turicibacter,Eubacterium_fissicatena_group,and Eubacterium_xylanophilum_group).Gut microbiota depletion by antibiotics further confirmed that R.serra alleviated colitis in a microbiota-dependent manner.Overall,our findings provide chemical and biological evidence for the potential application of R.serra in the management of colitis. | Hongyi Li Yi Wang Shumin Shao Hui Yu Deqin Wang Chuyuan Li Qin Yuan Wen Liu Jiliang Cao Xiaojuan Wang Haibiao Guo Xu Wu Shengpeng Wang | 2022 | Journal of Pharmaceutical Analysis2022,12,6: | 4 |
| 2 | The disbalance of LRP1 and SIRPα by psychological stress dampens the clearance of tumor cells by macrophages显示文摘The relationship between chronic psychological stress and tumorigenesis has been well defined in epidemiological studies;however, the underlying mechanism remains underexplored. In this study, we discovered that impaired macrophage phagocytosis contributed to the psychological stressevoked tumor susceptibility, and the stress hormone glucocorticoid(GC) was identified as a principal detrimental factor. Mechanistically, GC disturbed the balance of the 'eat me' signal receptor(low-density lipoprotein receptor-related protein-1, LRP1) and the 'don’t eat me' signal receptor(signal regulatory protein alpha, SIRPa). Further analysis revealed that GC led to a direct, glucocorticoid receptor(GR)-dependent trans-repression of LRP1 expression, and the repressed LRP1, in turn, resulted in the elevatedgene level of SIRPa by down-regulating mi RNA-4695-3 p. These data collectively demonstrate that stress induces the imbalance of the LRP1/SIRPa axis and entails the disturbance of tumor cell clearance by macrophages. | 3 | Wavelength-Dependent Solar N_(2) Fixation into Ammonia and Nitrate in Pure Water显示文摘Solar-driven N_(2) fixation using a photocatalyst in water presents a promising alternative to the traditional Haber-Bosch process in terms of both energy efficiency and environmental concern.At present,the product of solar N_(2) fixation is either NH_(4)^(+)or NO_(3)^(-).Few reports described the simultaneous formation of ammonia(NH_(4)^(+))and nitrate(NO_(3)^(-))by a photocatalytic reaction and the related mechanism.In this work,we report a strategy to photocatalytically fix nitrogen through simultaneous reduction and oxidation to produce NH_(4)^(+)and NO_(3)^(-)byW18O49 nanowires in pure water.The underlying mechanism of wavelength-dependent N_(2) fixation in the presence of surface defects is proposed,with an emphasis on oxygen vacancies that not only facilitate the activation and dissociation of N_(2) but also improve light absorption and the separation of the photoexcited carriers.Both NH_(4)^(+)and NO_(3)^(-)can be produced in pure water under a simulated solar light and even till the wavelength reaching 730 nm.The maximum quantum efficiency reaches 9%at 365 nm.Theoretical calculation reveals that disproportionation reaction of the N_(2) molecule is more energetically favorable than either reduction or oxidation alone.It is worth noting that the molar fraction of NH_(4)^(+)in the total product(NH_(4)^(+)plus NO_(3)^(-))shows an inverted volcano shape from 365nm to 730 nm.The increased fraction of NO_(3)^(-)from 365 nm to around 427 nm results from the competition between the oxygen evolution reaction(OER)at W sites without oxygen vacancies and the N_(2) oxidation reaction(NOR)at oxygen vacancy sites,which is driven by the intrinsically delocalized photoexcited holes.From 427nm to 730 nm,NOR is energetically restricted due to its higher equilibrium potential than that of OER,accompanied by the localized photoexcited holes on oxygen vacancies.Full disproportionation of N_(2) is achieved within a range of wavelength from~427nm to~515 nm.This work presents a rational strategy to efficiently utilize the photoexcited carriers and optimize the photocatalyst for practical nitrogen fixation. | Wenju Ren Zongwei Mei Shisheng Zheng Shunning Li Yuanmin Zhu Jiaxin Zheng Yuan Lin Haibiao Chen Meng Gu Feng Pan | 2020 | Research2020,,1: | 1 |

| 6 | Modulating proton binding energy on the tungsten carbide nanowires surfaces for boosting hydrogen evolution in acid显示文摘ungsten carbides have attracted wide attentions as Pt substitute electrocatalysts for hydrogen evolution reaction (HER), due to their good stability in an acid environment and Pt-like behaviour in hydrolysis. However, quantum chemistry calculations predict that the strong tungsten-hydrogen bonding hinders hydrogen desorption and restricts the overall catalytic activity. Synergistic modulation of host and guest electronic interaction can change the local work function of a compound, and therefore, improve its electrocatalytic activity over either of the elements individually. Herein, we develop a creative and facile solid-state approach to synthesize self-supported carbon-encapsulated single-phase WC hybrid nanowires arrays (nanoarrays) as HER catalyst. The theoretical calculations reveal that carbon encapsulation modifies the Gibbs free energy of H* values for the WC adsorption sites, endowing a more favorable C@WC active site for HER. The experimental results exhibit that the hybrid WC nanoarrays possess remarkable Pt-like catalytic behavior, with superior activity and stability in an acidic media, which can be compared to the best non-noble metal catalysts reported to date for hydrogen evolution reaction. | 7 | Estimation of Postmortem Interval by Postmortem Myocardial Computed Tomography Value显示文摘Background:The estimation of postmortem interval(PMI)is one of the most important topics in forensic medicine research.We speculate that with an increased PMI,the computed tomography(CT)values of different tissues may show regular changes.Purpose:To use postmortem computed tomography(PMCT)to measure the myocardial CT value(unit:Hounsfield Unit,HU)of the heart to explore its pattern in postmortem change,and to discuss whether it can serve as a new parameter for PMI estimation.Methods:A total of 10 healthy adult New Zealand rabbits were selected and then put into a 20℃ incubator after being sacrificed.Within 0-156 h after death,CT scans were performed every 12 h to detect changes in the myocardial CT value of the heart over time.Regression analysis was used to determine the relationship between the myocardial CT value of the heart and PMI.At the same time,HE and Masson were used to stain the cardiac tissue sections detected by PMCT at Oh,48h and 156h,respectively.Results:During 0-156 h,the overall myocardial CT value showed a trend of first rising and then decreasing with the increase of PMI.The fitting regression equation was y=-2873.193+143.866x-1.728x2(x:myocardial CT value,unit:Hu;y:PMI,unit:h,R2=0.466,P<0.05).During 48-156 h,the overall myocardial CT value decreased gradually with the increase of PMI.The fitting regression equation was y=-93.038+18.700x-0.321x2(x:myocardial CT value,unit:Hu;y:PMI,unit:h,R2=0.963,P<0.001).The results of the morphological changes of the myocardial tissue structure after death showed that the myocardial cell structure was relatively complete at 0-48 hours after death;and the myocardial cell structure disappeared at 156 hours after death.Conclusions:Our results revealed evident postmortem changes in the myocardial CT value of the heart.Accordingly,measuring the myocardial CT value through PMCT shows promise for being used as a parameter for PMI estimation in forensic medicine and is worthy of further studies.The morphological changes of the myocardial tissue structure after death provide morphological basis for postmortem changes of tissue density,and further prove the reasons for the changes of CT value. | Zhiyuan An Hongxia He Qing Niu Haibiao Zhu Yucong Wang Ran Liu Weiliang Hou Peng Tang Tiantong Yang Dong Zhao | 2021 | Journal of Forensic Science and Medicine2021,7,3: | 1 |
