Effects of Co-60 gamma-irradiation and refrigerated storage on the quality of Shatang mandarin显示文摘The effectiveness of Co-60 gamma irradiation in controlling citrus red mite(Panonychus citri McGregor)had been proved in our earlier work. However, whether it could be used as an alternative method to replace the current way of quarantine treatment against citrus red mites depends on the performances of effective doses on citrus fruits. This study was conducted to explore the effects of Co-60 gamma irradiation on the nutrient composition of citrus(Shatang mandarin);selected fruits were divided into different groups and each group was irradiated at 0.0,0.2,0.3,0.4,0.5,and 0.6,respectively.And then the treated fruits were stored at 4◦C and the nutrient composition was studied in the following days. The results showed that the shelf-life could be extended when fruits were irradiated in the dose range of 0.2–0.4 kGy,while most unirradiated citrus decayed by 15 d.It also turned out that the citrus irradiated at 0.5 and 0.6 kGy were fully decayed within 45 d of refrigerated storage. The content of total soluble solids(TSS),total sugar, ascorbic acid(AA),and titratable acidity had no significant differences compare to those of the control during the 15 d storage period.Nevertheless, the activities of peroxidase(POD)and superoxide dismutase(SOD)decreased after 15 d;the improvement of storage quality and shelf life may be explained by the change of the protective enzyme activity. In conclusion, the results of citrus fruit treated with irradiation at a certain dose indicated the potential use of Co-60 gamma irradiation as a safe quarantine treatment.©2014 Beijing Academy of Food Sciences.Production and hosting by Elsevier B.V.All rights reserved.Ke Zhang Yueye Deng Haohao Fu Qunfang Weng 2014Food Science and Human Wellness2014,3,1:1

Novel dental implant modifications with two-staged double benefits for preventing infection and promoting osseointegration in vivo and in vitro显示文摘Peri-implantitis are a major problem causing implant failure these days.Accordingly,anti-infection during the early stage and subsequent promotion of osseointegration are two main key factors to solve this issue.Micro-arc oxidation(MAO)treatment is a way to form an oxidation film on the surface of metallic materials. The method shows good osteogenic properties but weak antibacterial effect. Therefore,we developed combined strategies to combat severe peri-implantitis,which included the use of a novel compound,PD,comprising dendrimers poly(amidoamine)(PAMAM)loading dimethylaminododecyl methacrylate(DMADDM)as well as MAO treatment. Here,we explored the chemical properties of the novel compound PD,and proved that this compound was successfully synthesized, with the loading efficiency and encapsulation efficiency of 23.91%and 31.42%,respectively.We further report the two-stage double benefits capability of PD+MAO:(1)in the first stage,PD+MAO could decrease the adherence and development of biofilms by releasing DMADDM in the highly infected first stage after implant surgery both in vitro and in vivo;(2)in the second stage,PD+MAO indicated mighty anti-infection and osteoconductive characteristics in a rat model of peri-implantitis in vivo. This study first reports the two-staged,double benefits of PD+MAO,and demonstrates its potential in clinical applications for inhibiting peri-implantitis,especially in patients with severe infection risk.Xiaoyu Huang Yang Ge Bina Yang Qi Han Wen Zhou Jingou Liang Mingyun Li Xian Peng Biao Ren Bangcheng Yang Michael D.Weir Qiang Guo Haohao Wang Xinxuan Zhou Xugang Lu Thomas W.Oates Hockin H.K.Xu Dongmei Deng Xuedong Zhou Lei Cheng 2021Bioactive Materials2021,6,12:1
Unconventional phonon spectra and obstructed edge phonon modes显示文摘Based on the elementary band representations(EBR),many topologically trivial materials are classified as unconventional ones(obstructed atomic limit),where the EBR decomposition for a set of electronic states is not consistent with atomic valenceelectron band representations. In the work,we identify that the unconventional nature can also exist in phonon spectra, where the EBR decomposition for a set of well-separated phonon modes is not consistent with atomic vibration band representations(ABR).The unconventionality has two types:typeⅠis on an empty site;and typeⅡis on an atom site with non-atomic vibration orbitals. The unconventionality is described by the nonzero real-space invariant at the site. Our detailed calculations show that the black phosphorus(BP)has the typeⅠunconventional phonon spectrum, while 1H-Mo Se_(2)has the typeⅡone, although their electronic structures are also unconventional.Accordingly, the obstructed phonon modes are obtained for two types of unconventional phonon spectra.Ruihan Zhang Haohao Sheng Junze Deng Zhong Fang Zhilong Yang Zhijun Wang 2024Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2024,67,4:0
Large Spin Hall Conductivity and Excellent Hydrogen Evolution Reaction Activity in Unconventional PtTe1.75 Monolayer显示文摘Two-dimensional(2D)materials have gained lots of attention due to the potential applications. In this work,we propose that based on first-principles calculations,the(2×2)patterned PtTe_(2)monolayer with kagome lattice formed by the well-ordered Te vacancy(PtTe_(1.75))hosts large and tunable spin Hall conductivity(SHC)and excellent hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)activity. The unconventional nature relies on the A1@1b band representation of the highest valence band without spin–orbit coupling(SOC).The large SHC comes from the Rashba SOC in the noncentrosymmetric structure induced by the Te vacancy.Even though it has a metallic SOC band structure,theℤ_(2)invariant is well defined because of the existence of the direct bandgap and is computed to be nontrivial. The calculated SHC is as large as 1.25×10^(3)h/e(Ωcm)^(−1)at the Fermi level(EF).By tuning the chemical potential from EF−0.3 to EF+0.3 eV,it varies rapidly and monotonically from−1.2×10^(3)to 3.1×10^(3)h/e(Ωcm)^(−1)In addition,we also find that the Te vacancy in the patterned monolayer can induce excellent HER activity. Our results not only offer a new idea to search 2D materials with large SHC,i.e.,by introducing inversion–symmetry breaking vacancies in large SOC systems, but also provide a feasible system with tunable SHC(by applying gate voltage)and excellent HER activity.Dexi Shao Junze Deng Haohao Sheng Ruihan Zhang Hongming Weng Zhong Fang Xing-Qiu Chen Yan Sun Zhijun Wang 2023Research2023,,3:0
Effects of thermo-magneto-electro nonlinearity characteristics on the stability of functionally graded piezoelectric beam显示文摘Due to the increasing interests in using functionally graded piezoelectric materials(FGPMs) in the design of advanced micro-electro-mechanical systems, it is important to understand the stability behaviors of the FGPM beams. In this study, considering the effects of geometrical nonlinearity, temperature, and electricity in the constitutive relations and the effect of the magnetic field on the FGPM beam, the Euler-Bernoulli beam model is adopted, and the nonlinear governing equation of motion is derived via Hamilton's principle. A perturbation method, which can decompose the deflection into static and dynamic components, is utilized to linearize the nonlinear governing equation. Then,a dynamic stability analysis is carried out, and the approximate analytical solutions for the nonlinear frequency and boundary frequencies of the unstable region are obtained.Numerical examples are performed to verify the present analysis. The effects of the static deflection, the static load factor, the temperature change, and the magnetic field flux on the stability behaviors of the FGPM beam are discussed. From the proposed analytical solutions and numerical results, one can easily and clearly find the effects of various controlled parameters, such as geometric and physical properties of the system, on the mechanical behaviors of structures, and the conclusions are very important and useful for the design of micro-devices.Haohao BI Bo WANG Zichen DENG Shuodao WANG 2020Applied Mathematics and Mechanics(English Edition)2020,41,2:0
Study on Reproductive Performance of Improved Hybrid from Chinese Holstein Cattle显示文摘In order to overcome the problems such as decline in adaptability, low fertility and few utilization years due to continuously increasing coefficient of inbreeding of Chinese Holstein cattle, three dairy-beef dual-purpose cattle varieties( purebred Simmental,Montbeliard and Fleckvieh) were introduced as the male parents to be hybridized with Chinese Holstein cattle,so as to study the improvement effect in the reproduction performance and milk production performance of the hybrid cattle. The results showed that the first-filial generation of Montbeliard had a very significant difference in gestation period from Chinese Holstein cattle( P <0. 01). The parity of Fleckvieh's first-filial generation had a very significant effect on 305 d milk yield( P <0. 01); and for the first-filial generation of Montbeliard, mating times and open days significantly affected 305 d milk yield( P < 0. 05),and its total milk yield had a significant difference from Chinese Holstein cattle( P < 0. 05). Comprehensively, the reproduction traits of Montbeliard's first-filial generation are better than other two varieties.Zhen ZHANG Xinfang ZHAO Xiaoli REN Yakun LI Haohao DENG Lei YAN Yuefei YAN Wenhua YANG Fanjun GENG 2018Agricultural Biotechnology2018,7,5:0
