1Recent Progress in Numerical Atmospheric Modeling in China显示文摘This review summarizes the scientific and technical progress in atmospheric modeling in China since 2011,including the dynamical core,model physics,data assimilation,ensemble forecasting,and model evaluation strategies.In terms of the dynamical core,important efforts have been made in the improvement of the existing model formulations and in exploring new modeling approaches that can better adapt to massively parallel computers and global multiscale modeling.With regard to model physics,various achievements in physical representations have been made,especially a trend toward scale-aware parameterization for accommodating the increase of model resolution.In the field of data assimilation,a 4D-Var system has been developed and is operationally used by the National Meteorological Center of China,and its performance is promising.Furthermore,ensemble forecasting has played a more important role in operational forecast systems and progressed in many fundamental techniques.Model evaluation strategies,including key performance metrics and standardized experimental protocols,have been proposed and widely applied to better understand the strengths and weaknesses of the systems,offering key routes for model improvement.The paper concludes with a concise summary of the status quo and a brief outlook in terms of future development.Rucong YU Yi ZHANG Jianjie WANG Jian LI Haoming CHEN Jiandong GONG Jing CHEN 2019Advances in Atmospheric Sciences2019,36,9:10
2Science and Prediction of Heavy Rainfall over China:Research Progress since the Reform and Opening-Up of New China显示文摘This paper reviews the major progress on development of the science and prediction of heavy rainfall over China since the beginning of the reform and opening-up of new China(roughly between 1980 and 2019).The progress of research on the physical mechanisms of heavy rainfall over China is summarized from three perspectives:1)the relevant synoptic weather systems,2)heavy rainfall in major sub-regions of China,and 3)heavy rainfall induced by typhoons.The development and application of forecasting techniques for heavy rainfall are summarized in terms of numerical weather prediction techniques and objective forecasting methods.Greatly aided by the rapid progress in meteorological observing technology and substantial improvement in electronic computing,studies of heavy rainfall in China have advanced to investigating the evolution of heavy-rain-producing storms and observational analysis of the cloud microphysical features.A deeper and more systematic understanding of the synoptic systems of importance to the production of heavy rainfall has also been developed.Operational forecast of heavy rainfall in China has changed from subjective weather event forecasts to a combination of both subjective and objective quantitative precipitation forecasts,and is now advancing toward probabilistic quantitative precipitation forecasts with the provision of forecast uncertainty information.Yali LUO Jisong SUN Ying LI Rudi XIA Yu DU Shuai YANG Yuanchun ZHANG Jing CHEN Kan DAI Xueshun SHEN Haoming CHEN Feifan ZHOU Yimin LIU Shenming FU Mengwen WU Tiangui XIAO Yangruixue CHEN Huiqi LI Mingxin LI 2020Journal of Meteorological Research2020,34,3:10
3Effect of Short-term Forest Bathing in Urban Parks on Perceived Anxiety of Young-adults: A Pilot Study in Guiyang, Southwest China显示文摘Forest can be taken as a natural therapy to alleviate perceived anxiety of visitors. Given the geographical difference between urban and rural forest environments, little is known about the urban forest therapy effect of anxiety alleviation with reference to the rural forest. In this study, forty-three university students(aged from 19 to 23) were recruited as participants to visit the forest parks at urban and rural areas of Guiyang City on 21 and 23 December 2016. The forest experience was separated by four sceneries. Participants were asked to complete questionnaires by self-evaluating specific anxiety change from 12 questions with scores from 1 to 10 at both entrance and exit of the parks. The Wilcoxon signed-rank test and paired t-test were used to compare the change of anti-anxiety scores during forest bathing and between urban and rural forests, respectively. Results revealed that forest bathing in the urban park can alleviate the anxiety from financial state(P = 0.0028), exam-pass pressure(P = 0.0040) and love-affair relationship(P = 0.0286). Although rural forest bathing can also alleviate the anxiety from financial state(P = 0.0222), meanwhile, it maintained the anxiety about campus life(P < 0.0001). Forest tree richness tended to be higher in the rural forest park than in the urban one, which in contrast decreased the anxiety alleviation from inter-communication in the rural forest park(P = 0.0487). Principle component analysis indicated that participants tended to perceive more decline of anxiety from social contact in the urban forest. In conclusion, university students were recommended to pay a short visit to the urban forest with partners if they felt anxious about personal affairs and felt necessary to talk with others. 4PCDH17 increases the sensitivity of colorectal cancer to 5-fluorouracil treatment by inducing apoptosis and autophagic cell death显示文摘5-Fluorouracil(5-FU)is known as a first-line chemotherapeutic agent against colorectal cancer(CRC),but drug resistance occurs frequently and significantly limits its clinical success.Our previous study showed that the protocadherin 17(PCDH17)gene was frequently methylated and functioned as a tumor suppressor in CRC.However,the relationship between PCDH17 and 5-FU resistance in CRC remains unclear.Here,we revealed that PCDH17 was more highly expressed in 5-FU-sensitive CRC tissues than in 5-FU-resistant CRC tissues,and high expression of PCDH17 was correlated with high BECN1 expression.Moreover,this expression profile contributed to superior prognosis and increased survival in CRC patients.Restoring PCDH17 expression augmented the 5-FU sensitivity of CRC in vitro and in vivo by promoting apoptosis and autophagic cell death.Furthermore,autophagy played a dominant role in PCDH17-induced cell death,as an autophagy inhibitor blocked cell death to a greater extent than the pancaspase inhibitor Z-VAD-FMK.PCDH17 inhibition by siRNA decreased the autophagy response and 5-FU sensitivity.Mechanistically,we showed that c-Jun NH2-terminal kinase(JNK)activation was a key determinant in PCDH17-induced autophagy.The compound SP600125,an inhibitor of JNK,suppressed autophagy and 5-FU-induced cell death in PCDH17-reexpressing CRC cells.Taken together,our findings suggest for the first time that PCDH17 increases the sensitivity of CRC to 5-FU treatment by inducing apoptosis and JNK-dependent autophagic cell death.PCDH17 may be a potential prognostic marker for predicting 5-FU sensitivity in CRC patients.Shuiping Liu Haoming Lin Da Wang Qiang Li Hong Luo Guoxiong Li Xiaohui Chen Yongqiang Li Peng Chen Bingtao Zhai Wengang Wang Ruonan Zhang Bi Chen Mingming Zhang Xuemeng Han Qiujie Li Liuxi Chen Ying Liu Xiaying Chen Guohua Li Yu Xiang Ting Duan Jiao Feng Jianshu Lou Xingxing Huang Qin Zhang Ting Pan Lili Yan Ting Jin Wenzheng Zhang Lvjia Zhuo Yitian Sun Tian Xie Xinbing Sui 2019Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2019,4,1:4
5Diurnal Variations of Summer Precipitation over the Qilian Mountains in Northwest China显示文摘Based on the high-density hourly rain-gauge data from 265 stations over the Qilian Mountains in Northwest China,climatic mean diurnal variations of summer rainfall over different topographies of this area are investigated. Influences of the gauge elevations on the diurnal variation of rainfall are also revealed. Distinct regional features of diurnal variations in rainfall are observed over the Qilian Mountains. Rainfall over the Qinghai Lake areas shows a single nocturnal peak. A dominant, late-afternoon peak of rainfall occurs over the mountain tops. Over the northeastern and southeastern slopes, a dominant diurnal peak appears in the late afternoon, and an evident second peak is found in the early morning, respectively. The strengths of the early-morning peaks in the rainfall frequency are closely related to the rainfall events with different durations over the two slopes. The early-morning peak is dominant across plains with low elevations. From the mountain tops to the plains, the diurnal peaks of rainfall gradually vary from the dominant late-afternoon peak to the dominant early-morning peak with the enhanced early-morning peak in concurrent with the decreasing gauge elevation over the northeastern and southeastern slopes. Further examination indicates that the rainfall at higher elevations over the northeastern and southeastern slopes occurs more readily in the afternoon,compared to the lower elevations. 12High-yield and low-cost separation of high-purity semiconducting single-walled carbon nanotubes with closed-loop recycling of raw materials and solvents显示文摘Semiconducting single-walled carbon nanotubes (s-SWCNTs) are the foundation of CNT-based electronics and optoelectronics. For practical applications, s-SWCNTs should be produced with high purity, high structural quality, low cost, and high yield. Currently conjugated polymer wrapping method shows great potential to fulfill these requirements due to its advantages of simple operation process, high purity separation, and easy scaling-up. However, only a small portion of both CNTs and polymers go into the final solution, and most of them are discarded after a single use, resulting in high cost and low yield. In this paper, we introduce a closed-loop recycling strategy, in which raw materials (CNTs and polymers) and solvents were all recycled and reused for multiple separation cycles. In each cycle, high-purity (> 99.9%) s-SWCNTs were obtained with no significant change of structural quality. After 7 times of recycling and separation, the material cost was reduced to ∼ 1% in comparison with commercially available products, and total yield was increased to 36% in comparison with 2%–5% for single cycle separation. 16Ambient Temperature and Years of Life Lost:A National Study in China显示文摘Although numerous studies have investigated premature deaths attributable to temperature,effects of temperature on years of life lost(YLL)remain unclear.We estimated the relationship between temperatures and YLL,and quantified the YLL per death caused by temperature in China.We collected daily meteorological and mortality data,and calculated the daily YLL values for 364 locations(2013–2017 in Yunnan,Guangdong,Hunan,Zhejiang,and Jilin provinces,and 2006–2011 in other locations)in China.A time-series design with a distributed lag nonlinear model was first employed to estimate the location-specific associations between temperature and YLL rates(YLL/100,000 population),and a multivariate meta-analysis model was used to pool location-specific associations.Then,YLL per death caused by temperatures was calculated.The temperature and YLL rates consistently showed U-shaped associations.A mean of 1.02(95%confidence interval:0.67,1.37)YLL per death was attributable to temperature.Cold temperature caused 0.98 YLL per death with most from moderate cold(0.84).The mean YLL per death was higher in those with cardiovascular diseases(1.14),males(1.15),younger age categories(1.31 in people aged 65–74 years),and in central China(1.34)than in those with respiratory diseases(0.47),females(0.87),older people(0.85 in people R75 years old),and northern China(0.64)or southern China(1.19).The mortality burden was modified by annual temperature and temperature variability,relative humidity,latitude,longitude,altitude,education attainment,and central heating use.Temperatures caused substantial YLL per death in China,which was modified by demographic and regional characteristics.Tao Liu Chunliang Zhou Haoming Zhang Biao Huang Yanjun Xu Lifeng Lin Lijun Wang Ruying Hu Zhulin Hou Yize Xiao Junhua Li Xiaojun Xu Donghui Jin Mingfang Qin Qinglong Zhao Weiwei Gong Peng Yin Yiqing Xu Jianxiong Hu Jianpeng Xiao Weilin Zeng Xing Li Siqi Chen Lingchuan Guo Zuhua Rong Yonghui Zhang Cunrui Huang Yaodong Du Yuming Guo Shannon Rutherford Min Yu Maigeng Zhou Wenjun Ma 2021The Innovation2021,2,1:1

18Low-coordinated Ni-N_(1)-C_(3)sites atomically dispersed on hollow carbon nanotubes for efficient CO_(2)reduction显示文摘Low-coordinated single atom catalysts compared to M-N4 are appealing in optimized electronic structure for CO_(2)electroreduction,but the preparation is still very challenging.Herein,a novel single Ni atom catalyst with Ni-N_(1)-C_(3)configuration is in-situ evolved on curved carbon nanotubes.The obtained Ni-N_(1)-C_(3)catalyst exhibits a superior CO Faradaic efficiency of 97%and turnover frequency of 2,890 h^(−1)at−0.9 V versus the reversible hydrogen electrode,as well as long-term stability over 45 h.High current densities exceeding 200 mA·cm^(−2)and CO Faradaic efficiency of 99%are achieved in flow-cell.Moreover,in-situ potentialand time-dependent Raman spectra identify the key intermediates of*COOH and*CO during CO_(2)-to-CO conversion.Theoretical calculations reveal that the upward-shifted d-band center and charge-rich Ni sites of Ni-N_(1)-C_(3)facilitate the electron transfer to*COOH and thus reduce the*COOH formation energy barrier.This work demonstrates a strategy for modulating the coordination environment for efficient CO_(2)reduction.Fangqi Yang Haoming Yu Yun Su Jingwen Chen Shixia Chen Zheling Zeng Shuguang Deng Jun Wang 2023Nano Research2023,16,1:0
