2Semi-supervised machine-learning classification of materials synthesis procedures显示文摘Digitizing large collections of scientific literature can enable new informatics approaches for scientific analysis and meta-analysis.However,most content in the scientific literature is locked-up in written natural language,which is difficult to parse into databases using explicitly hard-coded classification rules.In this work,we demonstrate a semi-supervised machine-learning method to classify inorganic materials synthesis procedures from written natural language.Without any human input,latent Dirichlet allocation can cluster keywords into topics corresponding to specific experimental materials synthesis steps,such as“grinding”and“heating”,“dissolving”and“centrifuging”,etc.Guided by a modest amount of annotation,a random forest classifier can then associate these steps with different categories of materials synthesis,such as solid-state or hydrothermal synthesis.Finally,we show that a Markov chain representation of the order of experimental steps accurately reconstructs a flowchart of possible synthesis procedures.Our machine-learning approach enables a scalable approach to unlock the large amount of inorganic materials synthesis information from the literature and to process it into a standardized,machine-readable database.Haoyan Huo Ziqin Rong Olga Kononova Wenhao Sun Tiago Botari Tanjin He Vahe Tshitoyan Gerbrand Ceder 2019npj Computational Materials2019,,1:2
3Recent advances of vanadium-based cathode materials for zinc-ion batteries显示文摘Zn-ion batteries(ZIBs) have gained great attention as promising next-generation power sources, because of their low cost, enviable safety and high theoretical capacity. Recently, massive researches have been devoted to vanadium-based materials as cathodes in ZIBs, owing to their multiple valence states, competitive gravimetric energy density, but the capacity degradation, sluggish kinetics, low operating voltage hinder further optimization of their performance in ZIBs. This review summarizes recent progress to increase the interlayer spacing, structural stability, and the diffusion ability of the guest Zn ions, including the insertion of different ions, introduction of defects, design of diverse morphologies, the combination of other materials. We also focus on approaches to promoting the valuable performance of vanadiumbased cathodes, along with the related ongoing scientific challenges and limitations. 6Control of ribosome synthesis in bacteria:the important role of rRNA chain elongation rate显示文摘Bacteria growth depends crucially on protein synthesis,which is limited by ribosome synthesis.Ribosomal RNA(rRNA)transcription is the rate-limiting step of ribosome synthesis.It is generally proposed that the transcriptional initiation rate of rRNA operon is the primary factor that controls the r RNA synthesis.In this study,we established a convenient GFP-based reporter approach for measuring the bacterial rRNA chain elongation rate.We showed that the rRNA chain elongation rate of Escherichia coli remains constant under nutrient limitation and chloramphenicol inhibition.In contrast,rRNA chain elongation rate decreases dramatically under low temperatures.Strikingly,we found that Vibrio natriegens,the fastest growing bacteria known,has a 50%higher rRNA chain elongation rate than E.coli,which contributes to its rapid ribosome synthesis.Our study demonstrates that r RNA chain elongation rate is another important factor that affects the bacterial ribosome synthesis capacity.Manlu Zhu Haoyan Mu Mengmei Jia Lingfu Deng Xiongfeng Dai 2021Science China(Life Sciences)2021,64,5:1

8Stability analysis of rib pillars in highwall mining under dynamic and static loads in open‑pit coal mine显示文摘The retained coal in the end slope of an open-pit mine can be mined by the highwall mining techniques.However,the instability mechanism of the reserved rib pillar under dynamic loads of mining haul trucks and static loads of the overlying strata is not clear,which restricts the safe and efcient application of highwall mining.In this study,the load-bearing model of the rib pillar in highwall mining was established,the cusp catastrophe theory and the safety coefcient of the rib pillar were considered,and the criterion equations of the rib pillar stability were proposed.Based on the limit equilibrium theory,the limit stress of the rib pillar was analyzed,and the calculation equations of plastic zone width of the rib pillar in highwall mining were obtained.Based on the Winkler foundation beam theory,the elastic foundation beam model composed of the rib pillar and roof under the highwall mining was established,and the calculation equations for the compression of the rib pillar under dynamic and static loads were developed.The results showed that with the increase of the rib pillar width,the total compression of the rib pillar under dynamic and static loads decreases nonlinearly,and the compression of the rib pillar caused by static loads of the overlying strata and trucks has a decisive role.Numerical simulation and theoretical calculation were also performed in this study.In the numerical simulation,the coal seam with a buried depth of 122 m and a thickness of 3 m is mined by highwall mining techniques.According to the established rib pillar instability model of the highwall mining system,it is found that when the mining opening width is 3 m,the reasonable width of the rib pillar is at least 1.3 m,and the safety factor of the rib pillar is 1.3.The numerical simulation results are in good agreement with the results of theoretical calculation,which verifes the feasibility of the theoretical analysis of the rib pillar stability.This research provides a reference for the stability analysis of rib pillars under highwall mining.Haoshuai Wu Yanlong Chen Haoyan Lv Qihang Xie Yuanguang Chen Jun Gu 2022International Journal of Coal Science & Technology2022,9,3:1
9Ordered structure of interlayer constructed with metal-organic frameworks improves the performance of lithium-sulfur batteries显示文摘Lithium-sulfur(Li-S)battery has attracted intensive attention in the realm of energy storage owing to its high theoretical capacity and energy density.However,the shuttle effect of soluble lithium polysulfides(LiPSs)between electrodes results in rapid capacity degradation.Herein,a strategy which combines the design of both chemical interaction and microstructure of interlayer was proposed to suppress the shuttle effect.The chemical interaction between different functionalized MOFs and LiPSs was systematically studied to find the best candidate.Furthermore,an interlayer with ordered structure was constructed via the layer-by-layer assembly of metal-organic frameworks(MOFs)on graphene(UiO-66-NH_(2)@graphene)to create sinuous channels which can better impede the diffusion process of LiPSs by the strong adsorption of MOF toward LiPSs.Consequently,in comparison to the battery with a bare separator,the ordered interlayer increased the initial discharge capacity of battery by 28.98%at 1.0 C and lowered the capacity decay rate remarkably from 0.10%to 0.067%per cycle,indicating that the design of chemical interaction and microstructure paves the way for high-performance Li-S batteries.Sijia Guo Yingbo Xiao Jia Wang Yuan Ouyang Xin Li Haoyan Deng Wenchao He Qinghan Zeng Wei Zhang Qi Zhang Shaoming Huang 2021Nano Research2021,14,12:1
10Moisture-preventing MAPbI_(3) solar cells with high photovoltaic performance via multiple ligand engineering显示文摘Perovskite solar cells present one of the most prominent photovoltaic technologies,yet their stability,and engineering at the molecular level remain challenging.We have demonstrated multifunctional molecules to improve the operating stability of perovskite solar cells while depicting a high-power conversion efficiency.The multifunctional molecule 4-[(trifluoromethyl)sulphanyl]-aniline(4TA)with trifluoromethyl(-CF_(3))and aniline(-NH_(2))moieties is meticulously designed to modulate the perovskite.The-CF_(3) and-NH_(2) functional groups have strong interaction with perovskite to suppress surface defects to improve device stability,as well as obtain large crystal grains through delaying crystallization.Moreover,this-CF_(3) forms a hydrophobic barrier on the surface of the perovskite to prevent cell decomposition.Consequently,the performance of the perovskite solar cells is remarkably improved with the efficiency increased from 18.00% to 20.24%.The perovskite solar cells with multifunctional molecular maintaining 93% of their original efficiency for over 30 days(-55%humidity)in air without device encapsulation,exhibiting a high long-term stability.Moreover,the lead leakage issue of perovskite solar cells has also been suppressed by the built-in 4TA molecule,which is beneficial to environment-friendly application.Ultimately,we believe this multifunctional small molecule provides an available way to achieve high performance perovskite solar cells and the related design strategy is helpful to further develop more versatile materials for perovskite-based optoelectronic devices.Xin Li Jinyue Du Hui Duan Haoyan Wang Lin Fan Yunfei Sun Yingrui Sui Jinghai Yang Fengyou Wang Lili Yang 2022Nano Research2022,15,2:1
11Risk SNP-induced lncRNA-SLCCl drives colorectal cancer through activating glycolysis signaling显示文摘Long non-coding RNAs(lncRNAs)play key roles in colorectal carcinogenesis.Here,we aimed to identify the risk SNP-induced lncRNAs and to investigate their roles in colorectal carcinogenesis.First,we identified rs6695584 as the causative SNP in 1 q41 locus.The A>G mutation of rs6695584 created a protein-binding motif of BATF,altered the enhancer activity,and subsequently activated IncSLCCl expression.Further validation in two independent CRC cohorts confirmed the upregulation of IncSLCCl in CRC tissues,and revealed that increased IncSLCCl expression was associated with poor survival in CRC patients.Mechanistically,lncRNA-SLCCl interacted with AHR and transcriptionally activated HK2 expression,the crucial enzyme in glucose metabolism,thereby driving the glycolysis pathway and accelerating CRC tumor growth.The functional assays revealed that IncSLCCl induced glycolysis activation and tumor growth in CRC mediated by HK2.In addition,HK2 was upregulated in colorectal cancer tissues and positively correlated with IncSLCCl expression and patient survival.Taken together,our findings reveal a risk SNP-mediated oncogene lncRNA-SLCCl promotes CRC through activating the glycolysis pathway.Tingting Yan Chaoqin Shen Penglei Jiang Chenyang Yu Fangfang Guo Xianglong Tian Xiaoqiang Zhu Shiyuan Lu Bingshe Han Ming Zhong Jinxian Chen Qiang Liu Yingxuan Chen Junfang Zhang Jie Hong Haoyan Chen Jing-Yuan Fang 2021Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2021,6,3:1

20Single-nucleus profiling unveils a geroprotective role of the Foxo3 in primate skeletal muscle aging显示文摘Age-dependent loss of skeletal muscle mass and function is a feature of sarcopenia,and increases the risk of many aging-related metabolic diseases.Here,we report phenotypic and single-nucleus transcriptomic analyses of non-human primate skeletal muscle aging.A higher transcriptional fluctuation was observed in myonuclei relative to other interstitial cell types,indicating a higher susceptibility of skeletal muscle fiber to aging.We found a downregulation of Foxo3 in aged primate skeletal muscle,and identi-fied FOxo3 as a hub transcription factor maintaining skeletal muscle homeostasis.Through the establishment of a complementary experimental pipeline based on a human pluripotent stem cell-derived myotube model,we revealed that silence of Foxo3 accelerates human myotube senescence,whereas genetic activation of endogenous FOxO3 alleviates human myotube aging.Altogether,based on a combination of monkey skeletal muscle and human myotube aging research models,we unraveled the pivotal role of the FOxO3 in safeguarding primate skeletal muscle from aging,providing a comprehensive resource for the development of clinical diagnosis and targeted therapeutic interventions against human skeletal muscle aging and the onset of sarcopenia along with aging-relateddisorders.Ying Jing Yuesheng Zuo Yang Yu Liang Sun Zhengrong Yu Shuai Ma Qian Zhao Guoqiang Sun Huifang Hu Jingyi Li Daoyuan Huang Lixiao Liu Jiaming Li Zijuan Xin Haoyan Huang Juan Carlos Izpisua Belmonte Weiqi Zhang Si Wang Jing Qu Guang-Hui Liu 2023Protein & Cell2023,14,7:0
