| 1 | Comparative induction of controlled circulation by magnesium and remifentanil in spine surgery显示文摘AIM: To evaluate the efficacy of magnesium sulfate(MGS) in comparison with remifentanil for induction of relative hypotension in posterior fusion of spine(PSF).METHODS: In this randomized clinical trial, 40 patients with the American Society of Anesthesiologists Ⅰ and Ⅱ physical status undergoing lumbar PSF were randomized to receive remifentanil(REM) 0.15 μg/kg or MGS 50 mg/kg for controlled hypotension. The administering anesthesiologist was blinded to the medication. Continuous infusion was maintained at a fixed volume rate to deliver precalculated doses of either study drugs. All other aspects of anesthesia and surgery were similar in the two groups. The target mean arterial pressure(MAP) range used in this study was 60-70 mm Hg. In the course of surgery, the hemodynamic variables, volumeof blood loss, urine output, fluid intake and surgeon's satisfaction were recorded. Data was analyzed with SPSS version 13.0 and P values less than 0.05 were considered significant.RESULTS: Twenty patients in the MGS group and 19 patients in the REM group were studied. There was no difference between the two groups in the hemodynamic variables, blood loss, urine output, fluid requirement and surgeon's satisfaction for exposure. The target MAP was achieved in 75% of Mg and 58% of remifentanil groups. Although a higher number of patients in the REM group required nitroglycerin(42.1%) to reach the target MAP than those in the MGS group(25%), this difference was not statistically significant(P = 0.32).CONCLUSION: Our findings showed that in patients undergoing lumbar PSF surgery, remifentanil and MGS have a similar hypotensive effect and comparable amount of blood loss without any significant adverse effects. | Mohammad R Ghodraty Mohammad M Homaee Kourosh Farazmehr Ali R Nikzad-Jamnani Masoud Soleymani-Dodaran Ali R Pournajafian Nader D Nader | 2014 | World Journal of Orthopedics2014,5,1: | 3 |

| 17 | Changes in hydrologic components from a mid-sized plots induced by rill erosion due to cyanobacterization显示文摘Runoff components are the most important factors in explaining the hydrological behaviour of a system.So that the proper understanding of the runoff processes may effectively help managers and decision-makers adopt appropriate measures.In this regard,there are variety of approaches to handle runoff generation,but the application of environmentally friendly,biologic-based and cost-effective approaches such as soil microorganisms has been seldom reported.The study has therefore tried to investigate the role of inoculation of cyanobacteria on runoff components under rain simulation conditions at the mid-sized(i.e.,6×1m)plots installed at=30% slope steepness.The treated plots were subjected to a simulated rainfall with an intensity of 50 mm h^(-1) and an initial duration of 30 min with three replica-tions.A simulated runoff of 2.18±0.32 Lmin^(-1) was also performed simultaneously on the onset of starting surface runoff.The results showed significant differences(P<0.021)in hydrological behaviours in control and treated plots.So that no surface runoff was produced in treated plots up to the end of the initial duration of 30 min of simulated rainfall.The results revealed that cyanobacterization by secretion of exopolysaccharides not only postponed runoff generation but also effectively inhibited runoff com-ponents even if the rainfall incident extended for longer periods.The positive effect of cyanobacterization on increasing infiltration and potential storage of water beneath the soil was also verified in the present study,which suggests the profitable application of cyanobacteria for regulating hydrologic components. | Atefeh Jafarpoor Seyed Hamidreza Sadeghi Behrouz Zarei Darki Mehdi Homaee | 2022 | International Soil and Water Conservation Research2022,10,1: | 0 |
