| 1 | Development of nutritious rice with high zinc/selenium and low cadmium in grains through QTL pyramiding显示文摘Enriching zinc(Zn) and selenium(Se) levels,while reducing cadmium(Cd) concentration in rice grains is of great benefit for human diet and health.Large natural variations in grain Zn, Se, and Cd concentrations in different rice accessions enable Zn/Sebiofortification and Cd-minimization through molecular breeding. Here, we report the development of new elite varieties by pyramiding major quantitative trait loci(QTLs) that significantly contribute to high Zn/Se and low Cd accumulation in grains. A chromosome segment substitution line CSSLGCC7 with the PA64s-derived GCC7 allele in the 93-11 background, exhibited steadily higher Mn and lower Cd concentrations in grains than those of 93-11. This elite chromosome segment substitution line(CSSL) was used as the core breeding material to cross with CSSLs harboring other major QTLs for essential mineral elements, especially CSSLGZC6 for grain Zn concentration and CSSLGSC5 for grain Se concentration. The CSSLGCC7+GZC6 and CSSLGCC7+GSC5 exhibited lower Cd concentration with higher Zn and Se concentrations in grains, respectively. | 2 | Superplastic behaviour and microstructure evolution of a fine-grained TA15 titanium alloy显示文摘The fine-grained microstructure of TA15 titanium alloy was prepared through two-step forging technology combined with high and low temperatures, and a transnormal superplastic elongation of more than 2000% was obtained. The superplastic behaviour and microstructure evolution were systematically researched at different temperatures and strain rates through superplastic tensile test. The results indicate that the fine-grained TA15 alloy exhibits superplasticity at temperatures of 760-980°C and initial strain rates from 1.1 × 10-2 to 5.5 × 10-5 s-1. The optimal superplastic conditions are 940°C and 3.3 × 10-4 s-1, in which the average elongation is 2526% and the maximum elongation is 2743%. | 3 | Immunotherapy of Epstein-Barr Virus Associated Malignancies Using Mycobacterial HSP70 and LMP2A356-364 Epitope Fusion Protein显示文摘Epstein-Barr virus infection is strongly associated with a number of malignancies.The EBV latent membrane protein 2A has been implicated as one of the most attractive candidates for immunotherapy of related malignancies.In previous studies,the T cell epitopes of LMP2A have been identified systematically.However,the epitope-based vaccine generally meets inefficient immunogenicity when used in vivo directly,which could be overcome by combination with appropriate adjuvants.Heat shock protein is a natural chaperon,which is able to activate the classical major histocompatibility complex class I antigen-processing pathway(cross-presentation).In this study,a minigene encoding LMP2A356-364(FLYALALLL)was genetically fused to the carboxy-terminal of mycobacterial heat shock protein 70.The epitope fusion protein was expressed and purified,and the cross-presentation of LMP2A_(356-364) by monocyte-derived dendritic cells pulsed with the epitope fusion protein was evaluated.Results showed that the epitope fusion protein-pulsed mDCs were much more efficient than the single peptide-pulsed mDCs on CTL activation.Immunization of HLA-A2.1 transgenic mice with MtHsp70-LMP2A_(356-364) generated peptide specific CTL more effectively than a single peptide plus incomplete Freund's adjuvant(IFA).Growth of LMP2A expressing B16 melanoma tumor cells was suppressed in the vaccinated groups.Our results suggested that MtHsp70-LMP2A_(356-364) fusion protein was more effective than the CD8^(+)T cell epitope alone on anti-tumor immunity.As a result,the MtHsp70-LMP2A_(356-364) fusion protein is considered to be a promising candidate vaccine for EBV related malignancies. | Genyan Liu Kun Yao Bing Wang Yun Chen Feng Zhou Yidi Guo Jian Xu Hongzhen Shi | 2009 | Cellular & Molecular Immunology2009,6,6: | 6 |
| 4 | Effect of Multiple Forging on Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of Powder Metallurgy FGH4096 Superalloy显示文摘FGH4096 is an important damage-tolerance-type powder metallurgy (PM) superalloy, which is also the optimized turbine material for high performance aero-engine. To turbine disc, bore and rim are used in high temperature-low stress condition and low temperature-high stress condition, and dual-microstructure is introduced. Coarse-grained microstructure is suit for rim region and fine-grained is no doubt most suitable for bore region. But fine-grained ingot can not make by PM technique, so that gradient heat treatment can not be developed to coarsen the grain of rim region. Under the confine of PM technique, several treatment processing should be taken place to refine the coarse grains of PM alloy. Multiple forging with large accumulate deformation was carried out on PM FGH4096 superalloy, and fine grains of 3.5 μm were obtained by this treatment processing. Mechanical properties testing were take carried out on both fine-grained and other statuses alloys. Microstructure evolution was observed by optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron microscopy. As a result of repeated dynamic recrystallization, coarse grains could be completely refined into fine grains. And the increase of strength was mainly attributed to refinement effect and improvement of defects such as previous particle boundaries. | 5 | Spatial heterogeneity and source apportionment of soil metal(loid)s in an abandoned lead/zinc smelter显示文摘Metal smelting have brought severe metal(loid)s contamination to the soil.Spatial distribution and pollution source analysis for soil metal(loid)s in an abandoned lead/zinc smelter were studied.The results showed that soil was contaminated heavily withmetal(loid)s.The mean of lead(Pb),arsenic(As),cadmium(Cd),mercury(Hg)and antimony(Sb)content in topsoil is 9.7,8.2,5.0,2.3,and 1.2 times higher than the risk screening value for soil contamination of development land of China(GB36600-2018),respectively.Cd ismainly enriched in the 0–6mdepth of site soil while As and Pbmainly deposited in the 0–4mlayer.The spatial distribution of soil metal(loid)s is significantly correlated with the pollution source in the different functional areas of smelter.As,Hg,Sb,Pb and copper(Cu)were mainly distributed in pyrometallurgical area,while Cd,thallium(Tl)and zinc(Zn)was mainly existed in both hydrometallurgical area and raw material storage area.Soil metal(loid)s pollution sources in the abandoned smelter are mainly contributed to the anthropogenic sources,accounting for 84.5%.Specifically,Pb,Tl,As,Hg,Sb and Cumainly from atmospheric deposition(55.9%),Cd and Zn mainly from surface runoff(28.6%),While nickel(Ni)mainly comes from parent material(15.5%).The results clarified the spatial distribution and their sources in different functional areas of the smelter,providing a new thought for the risk prevention and control of metal(loid)s in polluted site soil. | Yunxia Zhang Tianshuang Li Zhaohui Guo Huimin Xie Zhihao Hu Hongzhen Ran Changzhou Li Zhichao Jiang | 2023 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2023,,5: | 5 |
| 6 | Effect of near isothermal forging on the microstructure of Ti_3Al/TC11 welding interface显示文摘The as-forged Ti3Al-based alloy and TC11 titanium alloy were welded by electron beams in vacuum, and then they were processed using near isothermal forging and gradient heat treatment. The experimental results show that the near isothermal forging processing parameters have little effect on the phase constitution of the weld. The weld consists of Ti2AlNb, MoNb, Nb3Al, and TiAl3 phases as well as the two main phases of α and α2. However, the near isothermal forging processing parameters have significant effect on the shape, size, and volume fraction of α and α2 phases of the welding interface. The sizes of the α and α2 phases increase as the strain rate decreases. | 7 | Highly stable lithium anode enabled by self-assembled monolayer of dihexadecanoalkyl phosphate显示文摘Li has been considered as the ultimate anode material for high energy density secondary Li batteries.However,its practical application has been limited due to its low Coulombic efficiency(CE)and the formation of lithium dendrites.Recently,we have developed a microspherical Li-carbon nanotube(Li-CNT)composite material passivated with octadecylphosphonic acid(OPA)self-assembled monolayer(SAM)exhibiting suppressed lithium dendrite formation and improved environmental/electrochemical stability.In this work,we demonstrated the significantly enhanced passivation effects of a SAM using dihexadecanoalkyl phosphate(DHP),a molecule that is comprised of double hydrophobic alkyl chains and forms a denser SAM on surfaces with large curvature.As a result,the DHP SAM delivers superior environmental and electrochemical stability to the OPA passivated Li-CNT material.In specific,the DHP passivated Li-CNT composite(DHP-Li-CNT)delivers a high CE of 99.25%under a 33.3%depth of discharge(DOD)at 1 C,when it is paired with a LiFePO4 cathode.The evolution of the SAM during cycling and the effects of DOD and current density on the CE of the DHP-Li-CNT anode have also been investigated.The improved SAM passivation constitutes an important step in achieving the goal of practically applicable Li anodes. | Lei Zheng Feng Guo Tuo Kang Jin Yang Ya Liu Wei Gu Yanfei Zhao Hongzhen Lin Yanbin Shen Wei Lu Liwei Chen | 2020 | Nano Research2020,13,5: | 1 |
