| 1 | Impact of meteorological factors on the incidence of childhood hand,foot,and mouth disease(HFMD)analyzed by DLNMs-based time series approach显示文摘Background:Hand,foot,and mouth disease(HFMD)has become an emerging infectious disease in China in the last decade.There has been evidence that meteorological factors can influence the HFMD incidence,and understanding the mechanisms can help prevent and control HFMD.Methods:HFMD incidence data and meteorological data in Minhang District,Shanghai were obtained for the period between 2009 and 2015.Distributed lag non-linear models(DLNMs)were utilized to investigate the impact of meteorological factors on HFMD incidence after adjusting for potential confounders of long time trend,weekdays and holidays.Results:There was a non-linear relationship between temperature and HFMD incidence,the RR of 5th percentile compared to the median is 0.836(95%CI:0.671-1.042)and the RR of 95th percentile is 2.225(95%CI:1.774-2.792),and the effect of temperature varied across age groups.HFMD incidence increased with increasing average relative humidity(%)(RR=1.009,95%CI:1.005-1.015)and wind speed(m/s)(RR=1.197,95%CI:1.118-1.282),and with decreasing daily rainfall(mm)(RR=0.992,95%CI:0.987-0.997)and sunshine hours(h)(RR=0.966,95%CI:0.951-0.980).Conclusions:There were significant relationships between meteorological factors and childhood HFMD incidence in Minhang District,Shanghai.This information can help local health agencies develop strategies for the control and prevention of HFMD under specific climatic conditions. | Hongchao Qi Yue Chen Dongli Xu Hualin Su Longwen Zhan Zhiyin Xu Ying Huang Qianshan He Yi Hu Henry Lynn Zhijie Zhang | 2018 | Infectious Diseases of Poverty2018,7,1: | 17 |

| 3 | Remaining Useful Life Model and Assessment of Mechanical Products: A Brief Review and a Note on the State Space Model Method显示文摘The remaining useful life(RUL) prediction of mechanical products has been widely studied for online system performance reliability, device remanufacturing, and product safety(safety awareness and safety improvement). These studies incorporated many di erent models, algorithms, and techniques for modeling and assessment. In this paper, methods of RUL assessment are summarized and expounded upon using two major methods: physics model based and data driven based methods. The advantages and disadvantages of each of these methods are deliberated and compared as well. Due to the intricacy of failure mechanism in system, and di culty in physics degradation observation, RUL assessment based on observations of performance variables turns into a science in evaluating the degradation. A modeling method from control systems, the state space model(SSM), as a first order hidden Markov, is presented. In the context of non-linear and non-Gaussian systems, the SSM methodology is capable of performing remaining life assessment by using Bayesian estimation(sequential Monte Carlo). Being e ective for non-linear and non-Gaussian dynamics, the methodology can perform the assessment recursively online for applications in CBM(condition based maintenance), PHM(prognostics and health management), remanufacturing, and system performance reliability. | 5 | An Effective and Scalable VM Migration Strategy to Mitigate Cross-VM Side-Channel Attacks in Cloud显示文摘Co-residency of virtual machines(VMs) of different tenants on the same physical platform would possibly lead to cross-VM side-channel attacks in the cloud. While most of current countermeasures fail for real or immediate deployment due to their requirement for modification of virtualization structure, we adopt dynamic migration, an inherent mechanism of the cloud platform, as a general defense against this kind of threats. To this end, we first set up a unified practical information leakage model which shows the factors affecting side channels and describes the way they influence the damage due to side-channel attacks. Since migration is adopted to limit the time duration of co-residency, we envision this defense as an optimization problem by setting up an Integer Linear Programming(ILP) to calculate optimal migration strategy, which is intractable due to high computational complexity. Therefore, we approximate the ILP with a baseline genetic algorithm, which is further improved for its optimality and scalability. | 6 | Defensive deception framework against reconnaissance attacks in the cloud with deep reinforcement learning显示文摘Implementing defensive deception in the cloud is promising to proactively counter reconnaissance attack. This technique presents decoys to camouflage cloud assets and distracts attack resource. However,the major challenge is to develop an effective deception strategy to orchestrate digital decoys. To address this issue, we propose a deep reinforcement learning(DRL)-based defensive deception framework. First,we formulate a utility function, which mathematically models underlying threats associated with common vulnerabilities among virtual machines in the cloud. Then, we customize training interfaces and the neural networks for a DRL agent. The reward function reflects the effectiveness of asset concealment and the waste of attack resources, referring to a comprehensive defense goal. Finally, the well-trained DRL agent generates the optimal defense strategy. It specifies a more granular deception strategy than existing proposals. Simulation results show that the proposed framework leads to a 7.87% average advantage in realizing the comprehensive defense goal. Moreover, it can stably improve the concealment degree of cloud assets up to 20.58%, and increase the attack cost up to 40.40%. And the Scheduling Proxy dynamically schedules m DNSs to provide service in parallel and adopts the vote results from majority of DNSs to decide valid replies. And benefit from the centralized control of software defined networking(SDN), we implement a proof of concept for it. | 9 | Toward a Scalable SDN Control Mechanism via Switch Migration显示文摘Dynamic Controller Provisioning Problem(DCPP) is a key problem for scalable SDN. Previously, the solution to this problem focused on adapting the number of controllers and their locations with changing network conditions, but ignored balancing control loads via switch migration. In this paper, we study a scalable control mechanism to decide which switch and where it should be migrated for more balanced control plane, and we define it as Switch Migration Problem(SMP). The main contributions of this paper are as follows. First, we define a SDN model to describe the relation between controllers and switches from the view of loads. Based on this model, we form SMP as a Network Utility Maximization(NUM) problem with the objective of serving more requests under available control resources. Second, we design a synthesizing distributed algorithm for SMP--- Distributed Hopping Algorithm(DHA), by approximating our optimal objective via Log-Sum-Exp function. In DHA, individual controller performs algorithmic procedure independently. With the solution space F, we prove that the optimal gap caused by approximation is at most 1/βlog|F|, and DHA procedure is equal to implementation of a time-reversible Markov Chain process. Although some orchestration architecture has been proposed to chain network functions, rare works are focused on how to optimize this process. In this paper, we propose an optimized model for network function orchestration, function combination model(FCM). Our main contributions are as following. First, network functions are featured with a new abstraction, and are open to external providers. And FCM identifies network functions using unique type, and organizes their instances distributed over the network with the appropriate way. Second, with the specialized demands, we can combine function instances under the global network views, and formulate it into the problem of Boolean linear program(BLP). A simulated annealing algorithm is designed to approach optimal solution for this BLP. | 17 | The Surface Energy Budget and Its Impact on the Freeze-thaw Processes of Active Layer in Permafrost Regions of the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau显示文摘The surface energy budget is closely related to freeze-thaw processes and is also a key issue for land surface process research in permafrost regions.In this study,in situ data collected from 2005 to 2015 at the Tanggula site were used to analyze surface energy regimes,the interaction between surface energy budget and freeze-thaw processes.The results confirmed that surface energy flux in the permafrost region of the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau exhibited obvious seasonal variations.Annual average net radiation(R_(n))for 2010 was 86.5 W m^(-2),with the largest being in July and smallest in November.Surface soil heat flux(G_(0))was positive during warm seasons but negative in cold seasons with annual average value of 2.7 W m^(-2).Variations in R_(n) and G_(0) were closely related to freeze-thaw processes.Sensible heat flux(H)was the main energy budget component during cold seasons,whereas latent heat flux(LE)dominated surface energy distribution in warm seasons.Freeze-thaw processes,snow cover,precipitation,and surface conditions were important influence factors for surface energy flux.Albedo was strongly dependent on soil moisture content and ground surface state,increasing significantly when land surface was covered with deep snow,and exhibited negative correlation with surface soil moisture content.Energy variation was significantly related to active layer thaw depth.Soil heat balance coefficient K was>1 during the investigation time period,indicating the permafrost in the Tanggula area tended to degrade. | Junjie MA Ren LI Hongchao LIU Zhongwei HUANG Tonghua WU Guojie HU Yao XIAO Lin ZHAO Yizhen DU Shuhua YANG | 2022 | Advances in Atmospheric Sciences2022,39,1: | 1 |
