| 5 | Edge Bundling in Information Visualization显示文摘The edge, which can encode relational data in graphs and multidimensional data in parallel coordinates plots, is an important visual primitive for encoding data in information visualization research. However, when data become very large, visualizations often suffer from visual clutter as thousands of edges can easily overwhelm the display and obscure underlying patterns. Many edge-bundling techniques have been proposed to reduce visual clutter in visualizations. In this survey, we briefly introduce the visual-clutter problem in visualizations. Thereafter, we review the cost-based, geometry-based, and image-based edge-bundling methods for graphs, parallel coordinates, and flow maps. We then describe the various visualization applications that use edge-bundling techniques and discuss the evaluation studies concerning the effectiveness of edge-bundling methods. | 6 | Characterization and Fine Mapping of a Novel Rice Narrow Leaf Mutant nal9显示文摘A narrow leaf mutant was isolated from transgenic rice(Oryza sativa L.)lines carrying a T-DNA insertion.The mutant is characterized by narrow leaves during its whole growth period,and was named nal9(narrow leaf 9).The mutant also has other phenotypes,such as light green leaves at the seedling stage,reduced plant height,a small panicle and increased tillering.Genetic analysis revealed that the mutation is controlled by a single recessive gene.A hygromycin resistance assay showed that the mutation was not caused by T-DNA insertion,so a map-based cloning strategy was employed to isolate the nal9 gene.The mutant individuals from the F2generations of a cross between the nal9 mutant and Longtepu were used for mapping.With 24 F2mutants,the nal9 gene was preliminarily mapped near the marker RM156 on the chromosome 3.New INDEL markers were then designed based on the sequence differences between japonica and indica at the region near RM156.The nal9 gene was fnally located in a 69.3 kb region between the markers V239B and V239G within BAC OJ1212_C05 by chromosome walking.Sequence and expression analysis showed that an ATP-dependent Clp protease proteolytic subunit gene(ClpP)was most likely to be the nal9 gene.Furthermore,the nal9 mutation was rescued by transformation of the ClpP cDNA driven by the 35S promoter.Accordingly,the ClpP gene was identifed as the NAL9 gene.Our results provide a basis for functional studies of NAL9 in future work. | Wei Li Chao Wu Guocheng Hu Li Xing Wenjing Qian Huamin Si Zongxiu Sun Xingchun Wang Yaping Fu Wenzhen Liu | 2013 | Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2013,55,11: | 8 |
| 7 | Trial of small gateroad pillar in top coal caving longwall mining of large mining height显示文摘Coal seams in Tashan Mine of Datong Coal Group in China average 15 m thick and have been mined by the top coal caving longwall mining method of large mining height. Mining height was 3.8 m and the top coal caving height was 11.2 m. The gateroad pillar between panels was 38 m. During retreat mining,serious bumps occurred in the gateroads on both sides of the pillar affecting safety production. Therefore,pillarless mining was experimented. Using numerical modeling and comparative study of cases of similar mining condition,it was decided to employ a 6 m wide pillar,rather than the previous 38 m wide pillar.Support system for the gateroads was designed and implemented. During gateroad development,pillar failure conditions and entry deformation were monitored. Hydraulic fracturing method was employed to cut off the K3 sandstone along the entry rib so as to reduce the abutment pressure induced during retreat mining. Support reinforcement method combining grouting and advanced reinforcement methods was proposed to insure stable gateroad ahead of mining. Methane drainage and nitrogen injection were implemented to eliminate hazards associated with mine fire and spontaneous combustion. Since the development of gateroad has just completed,and retreat mining has not begun,the effectiveness of the proposed methods is unknown at this point. | 8 | Progress and prospect for NASICON-type Na3V2(PO4)3 forelectrochemical energy storage显示文摘Sodium-ion batteries(SIBs) have attracted increasing attention in the past decades, because of high overall abundance of precursors, their even geographical distribution, and low cost. Na_3V_2(PO_4)_3(NVP), a typical sodium super ion conductor(NASICON)-based electrode material, exhibits pronounced structural stability, exceptionally high ion conductivity, rendering it a most promising electrode for sodium storage.However, the comparatively low electronic conductivity makes the theoretical capacity of NVP cannot be fully accessible even at comparatively low rates, presenting a major drawback for further practical applications, especially when high rate capability is especially important. Thus, many endeavors have been conformed to increase the surface and intrinsic electrical conductivity of NVP by coating the active materials with a conductive carbon layer, downsizing the NVP particles, combining the NVP particle with various carbon materials and ion doping strategy. In this review, to get a better understanding on the sodium storage in NVP, we firstly present 4 distinct crystal structures in the temperature range of -30°C^225°C namely α-NVP, β-NVP, β-NVP and γ-NVP. Moreover, we give an overview of recent approaches to enhance the surface electrical conductivity and intrinsic electrical conductivity of NVP. | 9 | Cross-layer packet scheduling for downlink multiuser OFDM systems显示文摘This paper proposes a channel and queue aware fair (CQAF) packet scheduling scheme for the downlink packet transmission in multiuser orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems. By making use of the information on the channel conditions and the queue lengths, the proposed CQAF packet scheduling scheme efficiently allocates the subcarriers, transmission power and modulation level to users under the constraints of total transmission power, the number of subcarriers, bit-error-rate (BER) requirement and generalized processor sharing (GPS)-based fairness requirement. | 10 | Effect of rock composition microstructure and pore characteristics on its rock mechanics properties显示文摘This paper is to study the influence of composition, microstructure and pore characteristics on the rock mechanical properties. Five kinds of sandstone compositions were analyzed by using X-ray diffraction instrument. And the microstructure was observed by using scanning electron microscope. Then the pore distribution characteristic was investigated by using the low field nuclear magnetic resonance equipment. Finally, the uniaxial compression test was carried out to investigate the mechanical characteristics by using RMT150C mechanics experimental system and the uniaxial compressive strength, Poisson's ratio and elastic modulus were obtained. Compared to the analysis of the composition, structure and pore distribution and mechanical properties of the five kinds of sandstones, the relationship among composition,structure, pore distribution and mechanical properties was obtained. | 11 | Voussoir beam model for lower strong roof strata movement in longwall mining - Case study显示文摘The paper presents the influence of varying immediate roof thickness on the lower strong roof strata movement and failure pattern in longwall coal mining with large mining height. The investigation is based on 58 geological drill holes and hydraulic shield pressure measurements around the longwall Panel 42105 of the Buertai Mine in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, China. The longwall Panel 42105 is characterized by relatively soft immediate roof strata of varying thickness superposed by strong strata,herein defined as lower strong roof. A voussoir beam model is adopted to interpret the structural movement of the lower strong roof strata and shield pressure measurements. It is shown that when the immediate roof is relatively thick, the broken overlying lower strong roof tends to form a stable voussoir beam with previously broken layer, thus not exerting high pressure on the hydraulic shield and working face. When the immediate roof is relatively thin, the broken overlying lower strong roof tends to behave as a cantilever beam, thus exerting higher pressure on the hydraulic shield and working face. Numerical modelling was carried out to investigate the effects of different mining heights on the caving process, movement characteristics, equilibrium and stability conditions of overburden as the interaction between shield and surrounding rocks. With the numerical model, the internal factors for changes in shield resistance under different mining heights was found. Based on the characteristics analysis of glass bulb forming, a mathematical model has been established for calculating residual stresses of glass pressing process. The material is assumed as thermorheologi-cally simple thermoviscoelastic material, and the flow-induced stress is neglected. The consequences of equilibrium and compatibility equations are discussed in detail, and the boundary conditions are specified for various stages of the forming process. The numerical solution is based on the theory of thin layers, combined with finite difference method in the time and layer difference in the thickness di-rection. | 16 | Impact of diabetes on promoting the growth of breast cancer显示文摘Background:Type Ⅱ diabetes mellitus(DM2)is a significant risk factor for cancers,including breast cancer.However,a proper diabetic breast cancer mouse model is notwell-established for treatment strategy design.Additionally,the precise diabetic signaling pathways that regulate cancer growth remain unresolved.In the present study,we established a suitable mouse model and demonstrated the pathogenic role of diabetes on breast cancer progression.Methods:We successfully generated a transgenic mouse model of human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 positive(Her2^(+) or ERBB2)breast cancer with DM2 by crossing leptin receptor mutant(Lepr^(db/+))mice with (MMTV-ErbB2/neu)mice.Themousemodelswere administrated with antidiabetic drugs to assess the impacts of controlling DM2 in affecting tumor growth.Magnetic resonance spectroscopic imaging was employed to analyze the tumor metabolism.Results:Treatment with metformin/rosiglitazone in MMTV-ErbB2/Lepr^(db/db) mousemodel reduced serum insulin levels,prolonged overall survival,decreased cumulative tumor incidence,and inhibited tumor progression.Anti-insulin resistance medications also inhibited glycolytic metabolism in tumors in vivo as indicated by the reduced metabolic flux of hyperpolarized ^(13)C pyruvate-to-lactate reaction.The tumor cells from MMTV-ErbB2/Lepr^(db/db) transgenic mice treated with metformin had reprogrammed metabolism by reducing levels of both oxygen consumption and lactate production.Metformin decreased the expression of Myc and pyruvate kinase isozyme 2(PKM2),leading to metabolism reprogramming.Moreover,metformin attenuated the mTOR/AKT signaling pathway and altered adipokine profiles.Conclusions:MMTV-ErbB2/Lepr^(db/db) mouse model was able to recapitulate diabetic HER2^(+) human breast cancer.Additionally,our results defined the signaling pathways deregulated in HER2^(+) breast cancer under diabetic condition,which can be intervened by anti-insulin resistance therapy. | Ping-Chieh Chou Hyun Ho Choi Yizhi Huang Enrique Fuentes-Mattei Guermarie Velazquez-Torres Fanmao Zhang Liem Phan Jaehyuk Lee Yanxia Shi James A.Bankson Yun Wu Huamin Wang Ruiying Zhao Sai-Ching Jim Yeung Mong-Hong Lee | 2021 | Cancer Communications2021,41,5: | 4 |
| 17 | Approach for wideband direction-of-arrival estimation in the presence of array model errors显示文摘The presence of array imperfection and mutual coupling in sensor arrays poses several challenges for development of effective algorithms for the direction-of-arrival (DOA) estimation problem in array processing. A correlation domain wideband DOA estimation algorithm without array calibration is proposed, to deal with these array model errors, using the arbitrary antenna array of omnidirectional elements. By using the matrix operators that have the memory and oblivion characteristics, this algorithm can separate the incident signals effectively. Compared with other typical wideband DOA estimation algorithms based on the subspace theory, this algorithm can get robust DOA estimation with regard to position error, gain-phase error, and mutual coupling, by utilizing a relaxation technique based on signal separation. | 18 | Genetic Analysis and Mapping of the Purple Gene in Purple Heading Chinese Cabbage显示文摘To analyze genetic linkage and map purple gene(Br Pur) controlling purple inner leaves trait of Chinese cabbage, a F2 population was constructed by selfing a F1 plant from homozygous purple heading line ‘14S839' and homozygous orange heading line ‘14S162'. The phenotype investigation of head color showed that the segregation ratio of purple to non-purple individuals was consistent with the expected ratio of 3:1,which indicated that purple inner leaves trait is controlled by a single dominant gene. A total of 297 SSRs in whole genome of Chinese cabbage were tested by modified Bulked Segregant Analysis(BSA) method. Two linked markers flanking Br Pur, A710 and A714, were obtained and Br Pur was mapped on linkage group A07 based on the sequence of these two markers. Subsequently, two new markers flanking Br Pur, CL-12 and B214-87, were developed based on two known anthocyanins-related genes, Br4CL3 and Bra004214.
